a [Music] [Applause] born Edward lowick Van Halen on January 26th 1955 in Amsterdam Eddie Van Halen was the co-founder lead guitarist backup vocalist occasional keyboardist and primary songwriter of The aptly named rock band Van Halen the band's scorching but funloving approach to rock and roll was the perfect accompaniment to those who grew up around hot cars in the late 1970s and 80s when when Van Halen released its debut album in 1978 they introduced a new era in hard rock and were on their way to being the biggest band in the world his equal attention to technique and Stage presence combined with an unprecedented Talent left audiences entranced with every performance during his axiomatic career he embraced his passion for cars by curating a stellar personalized collection and even expressed his love for cars throughout his music today we're taking a look at the car collection of the legendary Eddie Van Halen let's [Music] begin 1970 Lamborghini [Music] miora a wedding gift from his first wife Valerie beron Eddie's meura was a laion speale version handbuilt straight from the factory complete with a broader body vented fenders and wider tires Eddie immortalized his meura in the song Panama where it can be heard revving during the breakdown a factory 1970 meura came with a 239 cubic in V12 producing 286 ft-lb of torque propelling the mayura from 0 to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds with a top speed of 177 mph 1970 Chevy [Music] Nova Eddie's Nova was customized by well-known Automotive customizer bones Fab starting out with an engine swap then suspension upgrades larger tires and a new paint job the engine is a 650 horsepower LSX 454 crate engine topped with a f intake it features a trch magnum T56 six-speed transmission with a full roll cage custom door handles and a carbon fiber hood and trunk lid it was finished with a custom paint job in ppg's custom House of Colors Tang yellow orange Eddie's Nova was brutally fast and he loved driving it on the California freeways Van Halen's classic Chevys Eddie Van Halen owned a classic 1956 Chevy 210 and a 1956 Chevy Nomad Van Halen's 1956 Chevrolet Nomad station wagon Sports a classic cashmir blue and white paint Scheme and was once part of the famed Hara collection the car underwent a frame-off restoration and features a 265 cubic in 210 horsepower power pack V8 engine as well as power steering and power disc brakes his maroon 1956 chevrol 210 featured a powerful 454 cubic in V8 big block Chevy engine that pumps out more than 600 horsepower making it suitable for the drag strip while remaining street legal 1947 Dodge Coe bones Fab also built 's 47 Coe stake bed truck the truck was originally outfitted with a Ford 6.9 L Diesel and four-speed manual transmission bones rewired the whole truck with a painless brand wiring harness the drivetrain was updated with a newer Ford 7.3 L Diesel with a custom turbo setup the transmission was upgraded to a zf5 speed outfitted with a gear vendor for good Highway Cruise ability the steering was upgraded with a Lee manufacturing steering box and a ram assist unit these upgrades made the truck significantly more enjoyable for Eddie to drive 1977 Porsche 911 Turbo [Music] Carrera the flagship of the Porsche brand it was the fastest production car in the world at the time of its launch in contrast to most of the slow and heavy cars of the day it was lightweight and featured a beastly turbocharged engine much before turbocharging became popular it reached a top speed of 155 mph and could Sprint from 0 to 60 in 5.5 seconds it catapulted Porsche into Elite Performance car territory and captured a new generation of car nuts worldwide Eddie Van Halen included 1996 993 Porsche 911 [Music] Turbo bought new by Van Halen in 1996 Eddie later had it Custom Modified by Ruff automobiles Ruff installed custom camshafts turbo chargers an exhaust system and an eks computer after all was said and done the Porsche boasted a twint turbocharged 3.6 L Flat 6 M to a six-speed manual transaxle and all-wheel drive this certainly gave it a boost in power to the tune of around 480 horsepower it featured a black leather interior with an exterior finished in Arena red perfect for a rockar of his caliber 2000 Ferrari 550 50 marinell prior to the Porsche GT3 RS Eddie's Supercar of choice was the 550 Marinello the black 550 was a six-speed manual that featured a 5.5 L V12 producing 479 horsepower reaching a 0 to 60 MPH time of 4.2 seconds and achieves a Brak neck top speed of almost 200 mph it received a custom roll cage race seats and challenge style rims 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS an ultra high performance car built for the street and track it's 4 L Flat 6 produces 490 horsepower and 346 ftlb of torque accelerating the Porsche from 0 to 60 in 3.3 seconds and has a lightning fast top speed of 193 mph among its many sporty features include front fenders equipped with louvers above the wheels and rear fenders with turbo likee intakes rather than an intake below the rear wing the roof is made from magnesium and the interior includes full bucket seats carbon fiber inserts lightweight door handles and a bolted-on roll cage behind the front seats supercharged 2009 Audi R8 purchased new Eddie's Audi was powered by a 4.2 L V8 and fitted with a VF engineering supercharger producing 700 50 horsepower and 525 lb ft of torque and drives all four wheels through a six-speed manual transmission the car is finished in ibis white over a black leather interior and features a modified exhaust system Eddie's brother Alex Van Halen would also purchase a V10 Audi for himself Chevy C 1500 pickup one of Eddie's most famous rides the Appley named Van holler was his Chevy C1500 built by Hot Rods by Boyd and designed by chip fouse style-wise the truck's mods included a rear roll pan billet grill 16-in Billet rims and paint inspired by Van Halen's Frankenstein guitar a second truck was built for sport Truck magazine as a giveaway car which featured more extensive Frankenstein guitar inspired graphics among Van Halen's NeverEnding list of sporty and exotic rides he also owned the likes of a 1964 Volkswagon [Music] Beetle a 1985
