Using OLD SCHOOL GUNS to hunt wolves in Alaska | theHunter: Call of the Wild

[Music] what where's the gry wolf oh eight mythical oh he's nice all right oh he's stuck hello everyone and welcome back to Call of the Wild so as you notice um I brought Pablo back out because this map we're on uh Yukon Valley there's not a whole lot of class ones and I think it's only like some type of geese oh there's a plan up there mating call unfortunately we don't have a caller for them so today what we're going to be doing is if we look at my map here there's a huge section of the map all around Copper Rock here it's I haven't explored it so there could be some diamonds in there maybe a rare so you guys have been asking me for a while now to use a muzzle loader So today we're going to do that and a few other things so we're going to be rocking the hudig which is going to cover classes 4 to8 and if I switch the ammo type uh 3 to7 as well we've got the Miller model 1891 Sheriff which is a Wild West Gun so very old it does classes one 4 to 7 and 6 to9 and we've got ourselves the 45 I think it's called rolliston i' probably saying that wrong Frontier and that's 2 to five that is also a Wild West Gun and we got ourselves the Alexander Longbow which is an older bow of course because it uses the traditional arrows which has no sight nothing this one is going to be a pain a very big pain to hit cuz I don't remember how to use this so yeah that's what we're going to be doing today we're going to be running around with some old stuff and hopefully hopefully we well let's get out there and see what we can find oh and you guys might also notice my mic should sound better I mean at least I hope it does I went out today and I bought a bunch of stuff oh hold up made it call plan spicing we're going to go this way so I bought some stuff and put it up on my walls I bought some quilts and I just nailed them into the walls so hopefully that should take down a little bit of the echo so I think we're good now I think I'm I'm pretty happy with my recording situation but now we just need to go hunting and can we see anything yet no not yet now this is a rangefinder we're not going to talk about that I'm keeping the rangefinder today you guys you guys are lucky I'm using the muzzle loader so you know take what you can get oh hold up there we go all right it's only a level two which is not very good but oh that's also level two he's bad there's got to be something good in here though but I do like that their broadside that's very very good all right you know what I'll take what I can get let's go get that level two whoa look at that over in there what do we got going to go for it I'm going to see if I can hit him with this oh I don't know no I'm going to keep waiting I'm going to keep waiting okay we're about 40 something that's fine we got to take the shot from here Pablo don't get in my way dude okay right about we hit him was that a good shot let's see oh that one is in the ass okay that that wasn't a good shot we got one of them though was it a vital no all right try again shoot oh my God these things are annoying all right you know what I'm just going to start blasting here see if we can get him oh yeah we hit him with that one now everyone's scared oh crap ooh there's a wolf back behind us all right before he gets too far let's put another one into him he's definitely going to die now yeah I don't like the sound of that boo let's keep going this way buddy and once again oh 25 to 50 okay whoa whoa that's a big moose and there's Caribou damn we're going to go for that moose 254 I don't think he's going to make it I think diamond for them is 260 something maybe even 270 but he's a big gold all right Pablo let's check here we shot him in the butt all right and then we shot him oh we hit him super low crap so the first one we went underneath him and we hit the bone then we hit him in the flesh intestines and stomach we hit him with oh we were so close to hitting along there all right and finally we hit him in the butt again all right yeah he he's not very good he would have just been a silver so that's not too big of a deal but what a way to warm up though okay but this moose up here I'm pretty sure I can use my hudsun me there's a bear as well okay this spot is pretty damn good I really like the the burnt Forest very cool place oh yeah he's way better oh there's another one okay and there's another one o oh I like to look at you oh I'm tempted to go after you okay buddy now for the hudig I think I need to get no effective range is 218 no I'm fine I can just shoot him oh yeah I got the high penetration one and everything all right so I should just shoot him right there hope hopefully that's in the heart oh yeah that was a heart shot that is awesome and now we're going to spend about 5 minutes reloading you know as you do me see oo why can't I spot you there we go 243 he's attentive that guy didn't even care wow okay this gun is pretty damn good then let's go after him first and then we'll go back and grab that bear yep he's he's chill oh there was a mating call from that guy I don't want him to come in though he's not quite as good I'm going put on more sent spray just to be sure oh yeah I see the guy moving already all right let me spot him let me see yep he's a little bit inquisitive I like that I'm gonna wait till he gives me a good shot but I think I can shoot him from this range let's wait till he stops moving though right about there we go that should be a long that's got got a hit right oh yeah we dropped him all right this gun pretty damn good I got to say I'm actually really digging this now um Pablo help me out bud should go ahead and see if you can track down that bear oh there it is good job buddy so this one dropped pretty much on the spot so I'm pretty sure we got ourselves a nice heart shot we got a heart double lung holy crap he's a 55 he just barely makes silver well not just barely he's about halfway through and he's a gray brown pretty damn nice though he's a you know he's small but he's still a little bit chunky I like that okay 1,100 and I think I see our moose right there let me check yep that's him he's not great he like I said he's probably going to be just a gold what are you doing damn he's still just chilling there are you kidding me all right you know what see if we can get ourselves another one no that's not smart I'm not going to do it right there I know I could squeak in a shot but he just has to hold still but I know for a fact I can make that work yep here we go and there we go we got him he's and he's down holy crap this is fun this is very fun um yeah he bled out really quick all right we got him with a heart shot heart shot and aung damn he's a gold they go Diamond at okay 274 all right so yeah definitely nowhere near it but pretty impressive moose either way that's yeah that's pretty damn good okay now let's go grab this other dude and we are so off track I'm supposed to be going this way not up this way but let me see yeah you're all right not as good as the last one I don't think I think 192 yeah you're not even 200 but we got him with another heart shot we have three heart shots in a row today I like that let's see if we can keep that going are you kidding me are you kidding me I don't even know who you are I shot her anyways I think it's a female I didn't even look that should be a lung shot right huh oh we got a warning call from uh Caribou yeah this gun for some reason it doesn't really spook the animals if I was using the 7 mm everything within like what the hell was that everything within a huge radius would be gone wait is that is that a Carib right there no I'm just seeing things he you know what because we're not quite where we should be I'm just going to move up here fairly quickly if I spot these guys and there's something good we'll go after him but otherwise we need to get back on track okay where is this caribou should be somewhere over in here making a [ __ ] ton of noise oh damn damn okay he's just chilling do we have a caribou caller oh my God we do yep there he is right there he's really really close and he's eating in a very weird position I think he's laying down and eating he might be a little bit broken whoa whoa whoa what was that one that's a four is that the same dude okay there's a moose back in there 343 he is close close he's about 85 yards I don't know how he doesn't notice me yet he's got to be able to smell me by now okay this is starting to get a little bit tricky here how are we going to get around this without spooking him okay that is not what I wanted to do and why does this gun look like popcorn I'm not sure but I almost shot he looks a little bit funky right there but if I okay he's ready he's ready right about there we go did we drop him I don't see anyone running all right cool yep I see him that's awesome this gun pretty damn good I used this when I was pretty new to Call of the Wild for a while and and um I I hated it to be honest like I I really hated it but this is awesome actually so from what I've heard from you guys these guys never make diamond like unless they are max level and even then it's rare for them to actually make diamond so I'm expecting him just to be a nice gold he's a silver yep he's a level four silver so that that kind of tells you what we're what we're working with here we got him with a double lung there real nice shot perfect but God damn he is bad he is awful but I like that the difference between let me zoom in here the difference between the right side and the left side on those bottom ones there that's so cool all right awesome so I think we have a bear to track down as well um I think we need to go back this way a little bit all right Pablo help me find the bear Bud come on you got this there you go oh there she is Pablo um buddy I can see her from here Pablo dude she's over here oh my God all right you know what get over here she was a bronze and I did get her in the lung okay but way up at the top so she must have been super close she was 114 away huh so that that gun definitely has some decent range to it very nice all right I'll take it okay buddy now we need to go I'm going to spot one more time around here but then we just need to leave let me see anything good nope I think we pretty much cleared this place out yeah not [ __ ] are you alone I hope you're alone all right no we're leaving we're leaving no i' I've done enough damage right there whoa okay that's pretty close by I think sorry if you guys heard my water bottle trying to get a drink when we're traveling where are they okay um I'm just going to leave if they want to attack me they're you know they can feel free to do so but I think Pablo and I should probably head out oh we're getting into the red area I love that so pretty this makes this map one of my top Maps just the way the scenery looks you know I'm oh there's a maiden call we could try again with the Plaines bison but I kind of want to go after everything that's below class n because this uh this muzzle loader it only goes up to eight and this is so much fun oh it's very open here oh gray wolf oh [ __ ] all right they're class five I can use my pistol but yeah they're coming this way but we got the jump on him here I mean do I want to try and take a shot from here I don't think I could hit him though I kind of want them to attack me and then I can hit him with my 45 you know what I think I might go for him see if we can swing up here oh my oh it's attentive all right I'm going to take the shot see if we can drop him here come on oh that hit him in the jaw well he's dead either way come on wolves what are you going to do about it huh actually um stay away for like 30 seconds please I got to reload this is okay yeah they're just running all right well there you go that's how you uh you get to drop on the Wolves you don't let them attack you you shoot first oh yeah we got him good very okay are you running from the wolves or from me I don't know all right let's see here we got this guy right through the head into the neck he would have been just a silver but that's that's not quite how you're supposed to do it but we did get a vital cuz we hit him in the neck all right yeah I'll take it I'll take it he was really bad though um I think diamond for them I think because they're Predator their max level is nine and he was only a five so yeah not great H what do we got here got a nervous moose oh it's a fox we look at that they also go up to nine as the max level he's only a five so let's see if we can get him he's going to be hard to get to very hard to get to oh it's running shoot yeah we were kind of screwed there oh we got ourselves a gray wolf oh you're just chilling there not a good I'm not going to go after them I'm going to let them come towards me maybe if I piss them off by not doing anything maybe then they'll come in so this guy was it was perfect we got him with a uh let me see a lung shot all right single lung right below the head he was a [Music] whoa what was that what the hell was that oh I see another one way in the distance way up there what is up with their little Zoomies that is so weird I've never seen a wolf do that well I think my wolves are a little bit broke yeah what the hell that is not okay what are you doing right come on oh she just turned and ran the other direction [ __ ] all right that just kind of scared everything a little bit but that's a fun gun can I shoot the moose no all right Pablo help me out bud track down that other wolf cuz there's no way but that'd be so cool if it did hit oh we got a drink Zone though thanks for bison yep bison drink zone five of them not too bad there's probably a double Zone here all right what do we got over in here oh bison nice just a bunch of ones two that's a three 14 7's not great that female has a better estimate than he does and she's only a level two I mean this area looks so cool though this is a very fun place to hunt yeah I think I'm just going to go for it oh they're traveling they're leaving okay and there we go that should be a lung shot I'm pretty [Applause] sure right I think he's mad but he's under the water and mad I'm pretty sure that's what's happening what in the world just happened oh wait that's what happened all right he he's coming over we'll just have to wait here for a little bit oh there's another Zone with another two man these bison suck hey bud give you a treat oh we got another uh gray wolf coming in what's going to get here first warning call damn oh I guess he is pretty close oh wait so are you I don't know is that the same one there's a gry wolf up there too what the [ __ ] what is happening this place is so weird six that's a one I don't get this okay where' this other wolf go I'm just going to spot quickly there we go all right I think I see him I'm going to go for it and maybe we hit him maybe we didn't um he's a little bit stupid so I think we I think we missed him all right let me see here once I finish this there we go he was is a decent bison and by decent I mean he was really bad so yeah not a big deal all right let's keep moving want to haunt something a little bit different yeah no that wolf is fine I don't know how I missed it oh fleeing traveling I might be able to save that yeah I I think I just saved that wolf right there well I mean he's dead I I didn't save him but I saved the trophy there that's cool so yeah the the wolves are a little bit glitchy warning call 180 to 250 oh I see it let me spot it here a level six okay mean I really don't want to just keep hunting wolves oh my God all right let's try this again here actually I I don't really want to shoot him because I don't want to go get to him he's so far away please please don't die quickly I I don't want to go claim you there I think he's fine guys I think he's fine we don't need to go get him yep you're all by yourself here buddy but we saved you with a decent shot this one oh my God all right so we had to aim a little bit to the left there we missed everything there was not a single vital thing there but we saved him with a double L cuz yeah he kind of got stuck there we go all right Pablo we definitely need to get a move on and see something better because this is pretty bad I would like to go over here to The Copper Bow Lake and see if we can grab this Outpost cuz I remember this Lake being pretty good but I never really you know got a chance to go around it so let's head over there oh here we go nervous traveling that's a three once again nothing good here give me a four or something yeah I'm not even going to worry about these guys well I also don't really want anything good to be there because I don't want to mess it up with the bow it's another thing okay nothing nothing nothing there are bison down here which are now running but I'm pretty close to I might be able to get a shot with a bow and arrow wait you know what my shotgun might also work oh I don't have it loaded all right come on okay we hit him that's another one and that's another one one of those has to be good I'm hoping for at least one vital let's spot anything decent here 7 oh she's almost dead that's not a great one that's a three 2550 that's good there's no way I got Vitos like that that is awesome oh there's a planes bison up here 360 to 4 180 yards [ __ ] off there's no way let's check the map oh yeah we definitely got some stuff here Pablo start tracking Bud we did get a vital cool oh well there's one right there it's very small there's one right here this was a female she's a gold female holy crap no way there is no way she's a gold female only a level two I'm going to save that that feels rare that doesn't feel normal pretty cool so if you guys uh want to let me know if that's special or or weird to have like a female level two be a gold please let me know maybe we'll we'll make a lodge for weird animals or something like that and this was a this was a male level three and he was only a silver what the hell all right cool dark nice where are we going to go me see didn't we get an animal recently that it showed up as the wrong thing um like the wrong color I think it was not an axis deer but it was something like that whoa okay that's a 241 moose that's pretty good I'm going to go this way though we know he's not going to be diamond and he's going to be a pain in the ass you know track him down once he's calm not going to be fun my God there's more bison there we go four easy up to 179 he might be Diamond potential all right how are we going to get to you though there a moose I lost him but he's with that group right there there he is all right I'm going to keep that on him I'm not going to spot anything else until we get there cuz I want to grab his tracks oh um I spotted I spotted another animal I wasn't supposed to spot shoot I guess now that I'm up here I might as well spot for the Moose and he's gone [ __ ] all right let's see is it fresh oh it's fresh all right they're going to be right up here let's be slow and let's be careful I'll put on more sent spray too just to be safe nope that's moose again which could be a diamond moose I don't know but I don't have the time to look [Music] really sorry buddy but I don't know where you are that's a three okay not that great [ __ ] oh you [ __ ] I got distracted that's our bison up in here you know what come here where are you [ __ ] you yep I see him over there crap did that moose die it didn't even die are you kidding me all right let's go oh is that our guy let see what's the size it might be could be on a wild goose chase though I don't know there's another moose oh my God this moose died [ __ ] what do I do I'm going to check where is this guy yeah I don't see this moose either um he's fleeing okay where oh over there he's a three as well shoot all right let's head back and man if I had my rifle it would be so much easier to do this I I really don't want to have to get close to these guys oh we did get him with a vital all right cool and Pablo says to go this way which is not quite where his tracks went but all right oh yep there he is right there beautiful all right let me see here this guy was a light brown he's a nice looking moose he's only a 181 so I think he's the worst one of the day but he didn't go too far so grab that there 942 pretty good oo hold up what's going on over here nothing nothing's going on over there all right yeah I think I'm just going to full Sprint into the house and once we get to the house we can set it to the Moose drink time and then we'll go down to that massive massive Lake and maybe if we're lucky there'll be a diamond drink in there all right it took forever but we finally made it here and holy crap what a you it's such a goodl looking place all right so I think I'm pretty sure the Moose are drinking right now so let's double check pull up the map here we need a moose drink Zone Moose 12 to 1600 they are absolutely drinking right now so let's run down to the Copper Bow Lake and see what we can find holy crap what a view I love this map so much it's so pretty all right spot here oh there we go level three I could yeah I think I could hit that let's give it a shot here a bit of a long one but um well I don't know about that I don't think that even touched him no it definitely didn't touch him so I must have must have shot a little bit too low but it didn't spook him that much either okay let's aim a bit higher that one hit him okay no switch thank you oh he's he's gone shoot I don't think he'd have a whole lot of penetration for that range though cuz I think the max is 218 after that the penetration falls off a lot so that's what that means by the way I'm once again I'm pretty sure the effective range is like this is where you'll have you know decent results anything past that it's not guaranteed but he did die so I do think we hit him in a vital I shot right here I missed him somehow then I hit him again vital organ hit perfect but let's see I should be able to spot something if it's over here shoot this whole area is just dead that's not good all right I let's be a little bit careful here I don't know if anything's hiding around this corner but I think he was alone here I think he was all by himself oh there we go just a female but there could be a male with her so let's see if we can get a better view no all I see is her and still nothing over on these sides right here yeah I know Pablo I'm coming bud I'm coming I just want to check this out real quick nope there he is perfect stay right where you are buddy maybe I try to pull up the bow here here see if I can get her I'm going to put on a little bit of scent spray if I miss I miss it's not too big of a deal oh I think she's a little bit alert no she's not 45 that should be the effective range right yeah pretty much there we go we hit her I think that's good and did we spook anything nope all right that just that sucks there's really nothing here let's go back and grab that guy and did she die she did all right it was definitely a good hit wait oh his his uh his antlers didn't spawn in for a second there okay we got him we got him with a lung shot barely enough penetration oh no that was that was decent and he was a 153 okay where is this girl where'd she run off to probably not very far so yep we got her with a nice vital hit and she went yep there she is nice and we got her with a nice double long that is perfect a little bit higher would have been better but awesome all right but I'm going to keep running around cuz I believe that this place has a little bit more stuff to offer here I I don't think we've seen all the best of this Lake I mean we've we barely covered just such a small area here and I don't know if you know because this is the edge of the map right here I don't know if that's going to affect things maybe they don't come over on this side but there's only one way to find out so let's keep going we got something here Brown wow that tells us a whole lot and it does look like a moose it's a female going this way so they do come over on this side it's a good sign oh here we go yep there is a female well that's a good sign I guess so yeah there are moose here which means I should definitely keep going well I was going to record my outro and stuff but the wolf was making noise maybe I'll go investigate that really quick so yeah um if you guys look at my map here I walked all the way down over here I only saw one need Zone for one female moose I think that lake is a bust I don't think there's anything good there so not going to worry about it but I am going to see if I can w this episode up with a few uh few wolves here see what we can get oh okay he's attentive that's fun all right is there anyone else here no just just the one wolf O Okay that seven is pretty damn good all right that's I got to set this to the buck shot I really want them to attack me but I don't think they're going to let's let's see if we can call them in again oh way up there wait what what what do you guys doing over there huh how the hell do they get up there that's weird could have swore they were closer I never saw them leave wait oh I think I was confused I think our five and seven didn't leave I think that was a different group of wolves [ __ ] that's so stupid really you know what I'm going for the Moose I'll see if I can find him there he is come here boy come here come here I got to hit you eventually I don't think I hit him once did I oh my God I did hit him I hit him with a vital I don't think this gun is no that's not the right class well I think think he's going to go for a while oh I hit him again too let's see 75 to 100 yeah I hit him again he's probably going to be all right I'm so pissed at those wolves though that's that's some [ __ ] sometimes you know the game goes really well and like earlier on we just got animal after animal with a heart shot and another heart shot and another heart shot and sometimes you're left with this so um there you have it guys that's this is how Call of the Wild is right here so the word of the day today is going to be wolf because these little bastards don't want to come in and we killed a bunch of them today so that's a pretty good word
