you're not buying it yeah but yeah the problem with this is you're taking a risk of all the smds the aren't you know the resistance they all get the same condition they all fall off and so yeah [Music] what is crackalackin Tech yes citizens we are in the middle of Akihabara Tokyo for what might be the last Parts hunt in Japan before I go back to Australia and what we're going to be doing here today is of course hunting any deal regardless of whether it's an old DDR3 potato platform or whether it's a used RTX 3090 let's go see what deals we can find foreign [Music] so we just finished up at the first junk paradise and I do say first because this is a new junk Paradise that just opened up and we already scored a GTX 1070 TI for just a shave over a hundred dollars a hundred and five dollars and we also ended up picking up a p55 motherboard from ASRock and this was going for around a little over 25 and so I checked over both the parts at the counter they both looked good and the good thing about junk Paradise is they do give you a one week warranty if anything's wrong and they also do test out the parts before they sell them also for some reason it's really noisy around here so we're going to get on to the next junk paradise and see what they've got [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] coming out of the second junk Paradise we actually ended up picking up really nothing except some DDR3 memory where we ended up getting six four gigabyte sticks of Corsair 2000 megahertz memory mixed in with also two four gigabytes of just standard 1333 megahertz now I do need DDR3 and I also do need ssds because in Japan I just find they're not really an abundance as opposed to gpus right now and I also did see an RX 5500 XT that was going for a shave over 90 dollars but currently my thought on gpus is especially when it comes to the cards that have come off mining benches there are just an abundance of these graphics cards in that last junk Paradise there was so many GTX 1660 supers there was a lot of RX 6700 xt's RTX 30 series there's just really a heap of gravis cards and and we're getting to the stage where if people don't buy them and Supply keeps hitting the market prices are going to keep coming down on gpus though we're really close to a place called skumo and they usually have some pretty good deals on used parts so fingers crossed [Music] but those fields we had they were awesome didn't come free [Music] so we just finished up at skumo and they had some really really good deals going on as soon as I walked in I saw an RTX 3050 for about a hundred and sixty dollars if I convert the numbers in my head so I quickly grabbed that then I saw an RTX 3060 TI and also an RTX 3080 and they had really good strike prices on them however the staff members are really good here and they basically said to me look don't buy these two cards because they've got a lot of rust on the coolers and also one of the fans on the 3060 TI doesn't work properly it's noisy and I'm thinking to myself yeah that's indicative of a card that's been abused so we gave those two a Miss but then they also had an A2000 and I've never seen one of these In the Flesh I actually tried to buy one of these in Australia and it was so funny because I just couldn't get one they were out of stock but they were they came at a time where prices were really interesting for graphics cards because they released that and all the gaming gpus were brought up by crypto miners but checking out the performers this time I did ask you guys on Twitter and you said just avoid it it's basically like a little bit better than an RTX 3050 but it costs a lot more so I'm gonna give that one a Miss as I am looking for bargains and I think I don't really need to build any small form factor PCS in the next month however there is another GPU I did decide to get and it was a Vegas 64 strix Edition and this was going for a little over a hundred and thirty dollars however upon checking out this card it was in mint condition and I'm thinking to myself Mint Condition strix Vega 64. I do want this card for testing so I decided to pick him up so we've got two new members of the family here the techies family in the background and also while I was in the store some really good news we saw a subscriber and he was out deals hunting as well and he told me to go check out dos Paradise because they have a sale on at the moment with gpus so that's exactly where we're going to head right now and hopefully we get some even better deals than what we just picked up [Music] so we just finished up at Dos Power and my goodness they have so many graphics cards that I almost went broke inside this place so they've got an RTX 3080 we just picked that up it's a low hash rate Edition and we got that for a little over 450 but under 500 actually might have been under 452 but it's in my strike price for one of these cards so pick that up in excellent condition too then we've got an RTX 3060 and this one came from a smoking environment but the condition of the car was really good but one thing is I also saw another RTX 3060 there and I kid you not this was the dirtiest RTX 3000 Series card I've ever seen and obviously it came off a mining bench but one thing to look out for with cards that are this Rusty you do not want to buy them because all the smds and the small components most likely would have been affected by that rust too and I find in my experience when dealing with cards like that they don't have a lot of life left so always look out for heavy rust if there's a lot on there just avoid those cards even if you clean them up I find they just don't have have a lot of life left however we've still got one more GPU that we picked up and this is an RTX 3060 TI coming in under 300 USD it's also the gaming X Edition so a really good addition of a 3060 TI hit that strike price and we picked it up but also the uh subscriber that we saw the viewer that we saw in skumo medicine dos para now he's coming along with us for the parts hunt so this is just awesome I really enjoy it when you guys if you see us in person don't be afraid to just say hello and have a chat and who knows we've got a bit of time later might even have a beer foreign [Music] so we just finished up at a place called buy more and they sell mainly new parts they do have used parts as well but they've got a really good deal at the moment for a 32 gig kit of ddr5 memory going for a little under a hundred dollars so I'm surprised ddr5 prices are coming down this fast this quickly and I mean it's basically bare bone stuff there's no heat sinks on it or anything but at literally half the price of most ddr5 memory out there it's actually a bargain Now The Used Parts in that store were really not that good value like I was looking at the gravis cars they're a bit of a bust they did have some good deals on motherboards for especially b660 so if you want to get a b660 or maybe a new power supply as well they had some pretty good deals but this was just one that I had to get and it was I think only one per person as well so you could only buy one kit per person so decided to burn my ticket up and get that though also we have visited a few other stores that have been boss but what I'm going to do is once I finish the parts hunt up I'll talk about the boss compilation towards the end of the parts hunt let's keep looking around and see of course if we can find some mad deals [Music] thank you and now we have come out of the final junk Paradise there's actually five junk paradises in Akihabara I didn't even realize there were so many I mean there's a new one that's opened up but Ray who came along with us for this pot sign after I just met him on the streets here he started showing me all these extra junk paradises and the final one we went to we picked up a 5960x 8 core 16 thread CPU for around about off the top of my head a little under 60 dollars so I'll put the price up for you guys and I mean this kind of performance for this price no brainer but in terms of gpus and other stuff in the store a lot of it's just not at the prices that I'm willing to strike out so it's out of my Strike Zone we did go actually what we're going to do right now is we're going to go sit down look at all the stuff that we've got and we've got prices good prices on but also I'll tally up all the places that were a boss this month but also some places that had some interesting things that you might want to check out [Music] [Music] now we're back at the tech yes studio and we have unpacked here and we'll go over all these PC parts very soon but first of all let's just take a look at say for instance the RTX 3050 we got here we can build a whole RTX 3050 gaming PC cheaper than what you could buy an RTX 3050 from retail for that's just really what used PC parts is all about is creating so much value when people just want to go out and buy new stuff and to be honest this RTX 3050 it looks like it's brand new but let's talk about some of the other stores because what I saw was an unimaginable amount of foreigners in agihabara there was so many foreigners this time around and tourists it's unbelievable how things have just changed from a couple of months ago and actually that was the first thing that me and Ray talked about when we were there was just wow there are so many people here now and it's just I guess it's a good thing that Japan's opened up their tourism again because it can get their economy kick-started that we'll get back to the parts before we talk about the rest of the stores that we went through in aguihabra and especially if you guys are coming to Japan and you want to go shopping in in electronic City it's going to be a great experience you're going to get some great deals great prices and so what we had was two soft maps and they do sell used parts one of the soft Maps was a complete bust they had some used PC parts wasn't interested the prices were too high for instance I'll pull up an example of what they were asking for one of their systems then there was another one one where they had some pretty good prices on new parts which I was really surprised they had decent prices on new b550 motherboards and then the ryzen processors the fifth or the 5000 series I was going to say fifth gen I'm not talking about Intel I'm talking about ryzen the ryzen 5000 series processors Zen three they were going down in price like the ryzen 5500 is now under a hundred dollars and that's with a box cooler and then there's a 5600 that's come down a price and then the 5800 X 3D so I think 5000 series is actually where the deal is at if you're buying new and even if you're looking at used parts You may wish to consider just buying a new anyway for the ryzen 5000 series at those prices that I was seeing so it's really awesome to see those new parts come down and that's going to put more pressure on the used market and filter in better prices there too so I think CPU deals they're going to get better in coming months but one thing I noticed with motherboards there are very little used am4 motherboards on the market and this is just a crazy contrast to a last year especially when everyone was trying to get rid of motherboards and they were being sold in 10 bundles with gravis cards seriously I was getting calls and people saying Brad come buy motherboards off me brand new and the prices were literally about half price from what I'm seeing now so I definitely should have bought more motherboards last year when I had the chance that's something I do regret in hindsight so after we went through those two soft map stores we ended up finding another junk paradise and actually there was a few of them and they were just all boss besides the last one where we picked up that 5960x and along the way of course we stopped off at hard off and there was a place next to that and that was just the double bust I mean going into hard off my expectations are really low nowadays and that expectation was just perfectly met with just completely crazy high prices on all the stuff in there except there was the funny thing about hard off was there was one deal on a super flower power supply and it was a really good power supply but then I saw there was another one there so what that meant was a crypto Miner had just given up on all their stuff and they had traded two power supplies in too hard off so I definitely don't want to be buying a power supply from a miner that's the one thing because with gravis cards you will under Vault them and keep the life going but especially when it comes to a power supply has been on a crypto mining bench I would shy away from that because generally they're going to be run near their maximum wattage and pretty much 24 7 for the life of them so the power supplies are actually kind of the one thing that I would avoid from a crypto mining bench and so once I saw two of the exact same models on the shelves I was like nope not going to entertain that deal whatsoever though let's get back to the used parts here we've got got five graphics cards actually six because we've got that 1070 TI and I did see another one in the other junk Paradise store so if you guys are in Akihabara there is one junk Paradise that still has a really good deal on a 1070 TI there's also the RX 5500 XT kind of was on the fence on picking that up it was about 90 USD which is actually a really good deal but I just think all these other deals on these gpus are just coming through and I'm kind of surprised at how many cards are coming up in Japan so what that means was there was just so many crypto miners in Japan as well which is funny because power is generally pretty expensive per kilowatt hour in Japan especially versus the US even versus Australia so it was actually surprising to see a lot of these cars that were used for mining now starting to come on the market so there's pretty much been a massive flood of these cards within the last month so if you are coming to Japan you will be able to pick got some really good deals in Tokyo City especially akihobra and I'll actually put some links of the names of the stores if you guys are coming here and you're a tourist because what I saw here this month was crazy there was so many tourists here now so tourism is really picking up in Japan and especially with a weak Japanese Yen it's probably one of the best times to come for a holiday to Japan I really recommend it I mean it is pretty cold but you will be picking up Great PC deals as well if you're here and enjoying the scenery too so Japan is just firing on all cylinders especially when it comes to the used Tech hustle also don't forget to bring your passport with you if you are on a tourist visa you can get 10 off at a lot of stores except for Dos Power but also if you're buying a GPU do make sure you check the GPU out and like we saw in that video footage of that wine graphics card I have not seen a RTX 3000 Series in this bad a condition to this date so they got an award for being one of the cards they should definitely shy away from if there are especially other cards around the similar price point that are in much better condition though in terms of this motherboard right here p55 motherboard we're going to be putting a Xeon first gen x3440 in this thing and going to be doing some budget overclocking with 16 gigabytes of DDR3 memory so if you guys wanted a budget gaming PC especially one of those bargain low end bang of price performance builds it is going to be hitting the channel early next month so do stay tuned for that I'm looking forward to doing that we're going to go out and take this thing out in the forest do some of that old school stuff that we used to do back when I was in Japan before I went back to Australia so there's definitely going to be one to remember and also if you've got names for this new pc be sure to drop them down in the comments section below if there is a name that we can universally love then that'll be the new name of this low end budget gaming PC but then we've also got the i7 5960x 8 cores 16 threads absolute bargain but also there's another reason I got this I want to test the first generation of ddr4 CPUs the versus the final generation of ddr4 CPUs I think that would make for a very interesting comparison with the RTX 4090 and then of course the last dealer we got here is the ddr5 memory I mean don't be afraid to go into Tokyo and also keep your eye out for new parts buy more that one store I'm going to pay particular attention to it because I find from month to month they have these one-time sales on single items and they're really good deals paying under a hundred dollars USD even with the taxes for a 32 gigabyte kit of ddr5 memory is a pretty good deal in my opinion especially when ddr4 actually when I checked the price of ddr4 it's on the way up slightly so especially compared to a couple of months ago anyhow guys in terms of all the parts right here I'll put the tally up on the screen for you guys and also when I wake up I am going to check over each of these gravis cards I'm going to check the memory slider I'm going to check the core clock slider see how much life they have left in them and report back even in this video even though I'm completely spent I've just got so many parts here this month I don't even want to have a look on the internet this month because I've got more than I bargained for and I'm pretty spent as well in terms of my energy I was logging around three bags and a backpack in Akihabara walking from store to store because I actually got a lot of these good deals straight away I didn't hesitate when I saw the prices and knew my strike prices coming in especially coming off the back of checking eBay listings in the recent top 7 gpus video we did coming off the back of that and knowing my price points I was surprised to see a lot of these uh deals here were very good prices so instantly strike on a good deal don't hesitate especially if you know that price is good and that's what we did here today and with all that out of the way I hope you enjoyed October's used PC parts hunt of the month if you did then be sure to hit that like button for us and also let us know in the comments section below what was your favorite used deal of this month also did you see any other things in the video footage that you would have snapped up personally love reading those thoughts and opinions as always just like this question of the day here and it comes from Down Under garage and this is actually not so much a question but more a comment that notices what's going on and it's hi Brian not sure if you have noticed but back here in Brisbane the price of the 5600g and 5600 have fallen through the floor umart is selling the 5600g for 169 Aussie dollars which when we adjust that to USD that's very cheap and scorptec has the 5600 nonex for 199 way cheaper than getting those CPUs from AliExpress especially when you can swap these into a b450 motherboard a upgrade from 1600 AF or 2600 series of CPUs and exactly that's one thing I noticed and actually other people on Facebook messenger and stuff like that are sending me messages with price sheets saying Brian look at this I noticed that today in Tokyo prices of am4 CPUs have come down on the new side so that's a really good thing don't be afraid to go snap up a cheap ryzen 5000 series CPU you won't regret it the price performance is going to be very good especially if you get a cheap even a cheap A320 motherboard with pza Gen 3 if the BIOS does support that new 5000 series CPU of course so good to see that prices are coming down Australia as well but it must be an order directly from AMD I'll try and dig into more information see what I can find out about it and see why these prices are coming down pretty much all over the world and if it's coming down in Japan and Australia on the same day at Big retailers then it must be something to do with AMD directly and they're maybe offering some kind of incentive reward program with the big retailers on these CPUs anyhow guys hope that answers that question I'll catch you in another tech video very soon if you stay this far and you're enjoying that Tech yes content be sure to hit that sub button ring that Bell and I'll catch you in another tech video very soon peace out for now bye [Music] I do feel sorry if some people are going to be going in on a Saturday or Sunday on their day off and take yes your boys already cleaned out the cream of the crop for the weekend oh yeah barriers man you know oh no I so yeah when I was there I um what I did when I was there I I just moved it yeah and the guy came over and helped me so they don't mind
