the most inspirational stories of this generation he is the greatest athlete we have ever laid our eyes upon the world's fastest man usain bolt you go listen i don't know if you realize this but we're gonna lead really different in this today okay is that okay with you you're like in the past how you see my bag [Music] how are you you saying awesome awesome oh man i tell you what has changed though what has changed since i last saw you is you have a new role in your life yes are you sleeping at night at the start no i'm doing better now yeah then better then better i carry a funny story the first the first actual week when we started out uh in case she was like oh i want to do this thing for three months without without any help just me and you and i was like she's like i was like let's try this one week i was sick after one you got sick because i didn't understand that when the baby's sleeping you should be sleeping that's right so i took the night shift and i stayed up all night after one week i was dead you know i mean after i was like nah we get the night nurse we do the dating yeah yeah we're getting a nightmare so it's not easy no joke actually as you said that what is harder training or babying i've never gotten sick from chuckling for you sir is it what he expected it to be um it brings joy and stress at the same time so for me no yeah different napkins always when she started smiling it was the best time and i mean you could actually make her smile so for me it was a lot of fun then you know what i love to see like when i'm watching your stories i my love says she starts styling already yeah briefly like when she's watching peppa pig farmer tv she doesn't care i can't call her it's just focusing she was relaxing and that's it and she's like daddy if the world didn't humble you watch this let's just chill out i'm watching tv just be cool i love to see you in that role i really i think i think i'm i really enjoy seeing you in that space because i remember you saying to me a few years ago were on a flight coming home and booked up in the airport and you were like yo you know yeah yeah yeah i'm happy though it's good i'm glad you're happy i love that you're happy um let's go way back since we're talking about ollie and since we're talking about kids um let's talk about you as a kid um how dirty were your feet every day when you come inside from playing cricket listen it was for me growing up you know i pray to god ali is not like me gonna cause energy climbing running around yeah anything that has to do with movement that was me yeah so if she's like me it's gonna be a lot of problem yeah yeah that's done i'm gonna chase now all around the house but it's kids so yeah just enjoyed and for me growing up it was just a lot of fun dirty feet every day yeah every day possible feet they're just come from school no shoes feed dirties i mentioned cricket a while ago and i mentioned cricket because i know that isn't that like your first love my first thought yeah not no i don't but i definitely growing up my dad massive fan yeah of cricket and you support western nasa so for some reason i supported pakistan and it wasn't it wasn't yeah it's a weirdest thing it's the weirdest thing i agree to explain yourself what i don't know it's just that when i was younger i was just i just love waka universe ebola yeah growing up and then that was it i was just focused on this and then after a while you kind of grew up i understand say oh you're from the western you have to support westerners when i was a kid i i i supported pakistan what did you when you were you a bowler were you a batsman i was i was actually voting really yeah yeah i was actually uh both i was me and nj yeah other people don't know we actually opened uh as a parent or in primary school wow so we were pretty good at at at cricket because as i said it was my first level and that's all we did most of the time when we were younger how good were you in the field um definitely i was i was decent i was not awful then put it to field not in the sleepers because that was where most of the bars when say i had to chase it down yeah at the speed actually yeah that makes sense yeah yeah when you were growing up is it that you wanted to be a cricketer yeah for me sports was everything right you understand so i knew because yes cricket was my first stop but we started playing football and also doing trucks in primary school so for me all i knew growing up was just sports all the time i left school went home sports with my friends at home you know and summer time all sports so for me i never thought about being a pilot or a doctor anything was just i knew at some i was i was gonna dispose yeah didn't know which sport danny was on this sport so when did you realize it was going to be track for me when i i really got to high school you understand and everybody was like yo you need to focus on tracks because i still wanted to do cricket because i really loved cricket and they were like no you should do tracks and they kind of push me in that direction and all i got the more i said you know what this is gonna this is probably gonna what i'm gonna do in the future here is my thing you are notorious i've actually heard you say it a couple times now and i find it to be the most confusing thing because you're like yo i am the laziest person yeah but that and the training no matter you go it don't matter it's true it's very true but it's just my father has instilled something to me and by watching my father as far as anything you want to work hard feet yeah and he did not just say he actually did it in front of me and and and proved to me that listen you work hard you can't get anything yeah so my father was always working i was trying to do everything to provide for us so i could see that and when he when he taught me that listen i could say you know what i understand what he's saying so for me it was just one of those things that i always just focused on just knowing that although i'm lazy i have to work hard you understand i i think on behalf of the entire world watching i need to ask you to define lazy you're lazy and my lazy might be too different lazy you know like when i when i have to train that train but everything else i'm just chill i don't want to know like my friend's like yo ko javi yes no coco is no no no that's just that's just that's my lazy like the remote whatever the brightness of myself i mean you know what i'm afraid of i'll call him from downstairs and ask him and i'm like yo bro you're serious i was like you know the school man don't worry about it you're like do you know how that trained this morning but you actually have end up traveling ended up traveling a lot because of your career no yeah but to the same place you understand you just all over the place here there everywhere every time i look at your gramps i'm like she's living oh yeah i like that though i like that you're like yo but you know i feel like it's so important to do what you love and what makes you feel alive you know like i think it's the worst thing to go through life where it's just mundane um what's that thing for you that makes you feel alive for me it was it was definitely a shock and feeling yeah you understand but no i'm transitioning to be a dad i'm trying to learn and understand everything and what not mistakes not to make and you understand so that's the thing that i'm really focused on now yeah i'm trying to figure this roll out you understand because i just said everybody i always have advice i do this do that is that but you you always want to grow your child different or you have different values than other people might have so that is my passion and what i'm trying to focus on and get right because i don't feel like you're that's something you can't get wrong you know what's really funny that's not something you can you can't pass that panda one you understand taking my time i'm figuring it out hey there i know you're really enjoying this episode but i also know you really like my odyssey by andy shirt so i'm just saying be sure to click below in the description box to figure out just how you can get your hands on some odyssey by endy apparel yeah okay okay bye um you mentioned something which i find really interesting a while ago when you say um you want to really focus on it and get it right that diligence that you have to excel to be to execute um it is don't yeah for me i'm i'm i try to i try to figure like i i try to relive like my parents my youth days like all my appearances the certain things and i pick the things that i personally yes say you know what this made me a better person you understand and then the other part is uh my father's maybe too much on there so one that's one of the good things that i can use experience through my life and my eyes and then i can reflect it down to her so that's what i'm doing can we please go back to the chain in mouth let me actually give you the visual chain in mouth chest out then what was the technique i didn't know i knew absolutely nothing about technique it was just all talent and running yeah that was pretty much it and i need to tell people a lot of people understand i did not put much i put my chain in my mouth because it used to a lot of people don't because there's a beat on my chest and it's the anonymity i like that people feel like i was running that much i got into a lot of issues about that people pressured me about it i had to get rid of the change it was not that i wanted to put in my mouth was because it was so long it used to bounce up and down in my face when i used to run right so i was like you know what put mom out that's the problem so that's how i actually used to run in the chat a lot of people don't know that i didn't i got a lot of pressure about that i mean i was younger if him stopped running chain now more maybe he would run faster and some other thing oh says when you take off the chain you run faster okay um there was a lot of pressure on you as as a junior because you were really thriving like dog you separated yourself from everybody and then life changed [Laughter] no but big and serious yeah do you think the weight of the expectation came on too fast wait what um one it was injury and then i wasn't ready for it yeah and then i wasn't focused yeah because i don't know when i think at a young age i didn't have anybody to look up to who started this young got you they understand who could say oh this is what you should do all right don't do this i don't do that so for me when i was 15 i won where june as i was like in stan stardom yeah everybody in jamaica knew i was so it was pressure from then and then when i kept i was still in in children when i came to kingston now it was even bigger you understand yeah yeah so no i was like oh i can do this you know what i mean i'm just saying both you go here everybody know you so i wasn't really focused on track and fear itself yeah you understand i was just going out enjoying the life and whatever and whatever i didn't really care about anything because my talent was just working for me i didn't have to train as hard because i was so talented yeah so it was after time now when i sat down and i kind of figured like listen if i really want this you have to get serious yeah you understand when i got to mr mills and he said hey we're going to do this this is what i need from you i understand that's why now he started changing my role but it was rough for me growing up and understanding this and i feel like i can understand like i can't i can put myself at 15 and that type of responsibility that type of demand no way exactly your only responsibility was to complete the sba for school world record so it was it was one of those things like you just you doesn't never expect something because i would have never expected this yeah when i would wear junior i had a motorcade going home all the way from montego bay to toronto and people were just packed on the road so for me that was a massive experience understand just kind of threw me off because i didn't expect i'm a boy from the country living the dream [Laughter] [Music] um let's talk a bit about when he got to coach mills because he said that's when our proper conversation had to happen to kind of be like yo yeah this thing can really change your life yeah well when he got to coachman sonny he sat me down he had a really long meeting with most of my team ricky wasn't there because he was overseas and he sat me down and said listen this is what i expect from everybody my parents earlier wow so you actually got everybody here you know you got everybody together sat me down and said listen this is what i want this is what can happen this is what we're going to do this is what we're striving for but i guess because he understood that he could see that i wasn't mature enough to understand and he knew that i respected my parents so he wanted my parents to really guide me and to help him to keep me focused so yes for me that's how it really started i understand and it took me a while to get into it but after that it was just smooth sailing because once you got into it i mean actually i feel like everybody doesn't know so maybe i should just say it for the people that live under some rock for the last i don't know uh 10 years and some yeah um but here is my thing though everybody was blindsided by the hundred i don't know if you realize but everybody was blind because you were the 200 and 400 man yeah but yeah because that's all i wanted to do yeah that's what i wanted to do i wanted to i had a 400 nobody don't don't let anybody tell you yeah not even a 400 mile don't lie 400 trust me yeah yeah so i hated it so much and after we did all seven and quarter listen we're after the two events the one eventing now go work and need to get stronger and better and i was like all right cool let's do the angel it was like no you're not a hundred meter on a 40 meter and i was like yeah i was like all right let's make a deal if i run give me one 100 meter if i run fast i run the bills if i run slow i run the 400 meter no arguments and he's like all right and at the end of the o7 season i ran in greece and i ran 1003 and at that time a lot of people weren't running yeah you understand so i was like and he was like all right cool we're running the 100 meters and that's how it really got started and then you were like 400 meter training because no i don't have the chamber 400 meters yeah and it was a blessing in the sky because what most people don't realize by the way so when you trade in for 400 you're not running 400s you're running 800s 700s ridiculous stuff yeah yeah and they're doing sets it's not even like one time so it's it's crazy i was happy to get out of that yeah yeah when you ran the 1003 what crossed your mind i was just happy like me i said yes i called him i was like bro you you see what happened it's like i knew it was sad because you really wanted me to earn the phone just even show up my career oh he said yo let's just give 400 one here right no no it's not gonna happen so it was just one of those things that's how you end 07 and 08 the game changes totally not just for you for track and field the game change walk me through it for me you know oh yeah 07 was the very important tier because i wanted to win so bad the 200 meters and i didn't win and i went to coach and i said to him coach i ran my heart out and he said yes i could see but you're weak because i used to hate the gym yeah and he says yo you need to work or need to go to the gym you need to do your core and you will be fine i was like all right i never trained so hard in my entire career really more than 08 because that was the year that i really said you know what i want this i want to win this olympics because last year i wanted it and i couldn't get it because i wasn't ready so that's the season i really trained very hard i think probably the only season i've actually heard that i didn't have injury ah so it's like the stars aligned perfectly yeah that season was brilliant walk me through that season well true it was season you know everything was was peachy i'll never forget show just the work lord and everything else i coach and of course i don't worry it's gonna be a brilliancy it's just gonna be good i will got to to beijing and mako say you know what you're ready and he kind of just turned on my training and it was so weird you know what i mean it was like now you don't need to train as hard as you were doing and he kind of just backed off and then the rest is just history there's not much to tell it was just work work work work work it's actually because i had no problem yeah i had no issues throughout oh wait and then i got to the olympics and for me i was just happy running crossing that line winning that that that that that that um that hundred meters was everything you know i mean and then he said well why just stop at the hundred yeah come in continue breaking records yeah for me you know surprises so my coach yeah i think he he loves 100 meters so i i found out in 08 that he only cares about it oh so we i was warming up and i'm warming up and he goes all right get some blocks sometimes i cool do some blocks and i never forget asapha was on the other side at the back stretch and the finals came and he was doing black circles and i said yo coach can i do that he goes nope no black start just sit down and relax yeah and i was like no but he said don't worry about it do some stride outs come back go inside run finish that race 200 comes and i'm asking him what i should've done he said yeah man just run some turns i was like coming no no no eddie go help him out yeah he's like what's going on every year after that is the same thing he starts off starts off really 100 meters on point making sure i do everything right 200 meters like come on just do whatever you want to do what yeah as a coach yeah so i love him though he's crazy so i listened to you talk a while ago and i'm picturing there's this video of you and there's some wording at the top and i don't remember it verbatim now but it speaks about how people make people feel in like the smallest moments or the smallest things make people feel so good and the video is of you right and it's you interacting with the guy who's holding the basket it's you interacting with the crowd it's you interacting in general you go one of the things that you are notorious for is not taking yourself so seriously that you're not yourself when you're in the space where'd i come from that's actually it's just my personality and who i am yeah i understand and from my younger age if you remember where juniors after i won i saluted the crowd yes you know what i mean so if you watch what everything the junior games we used to just have so much fun you understand and i took that from the junior game to being cena yeah and people just say oh why is a joke i say oh this is who i am and people just love it and take to it why should i stop you understand and the thing with the people who cared about they're they're they're volunteers they understand this is free just to be here and for me the biggest thing for me and i knew this is just to say higher to have a conversation with them yes you go because the fact that they've all they love track and fees so they want to be here so for me i saw every if you watch every one of my races not just the championships yeah anybody personally i mean are his face our sister and the muslim from a number my baby my shirt i'll just give it to them yeah because i know that it means so much to them to just be here and be in the moment you understand and it's it's good and it keeps me relaxed and that's fun it's really awesome it's actually something that i really love i love it and i admire that i mean look for see where you're going this time like what eyebrow was going on in the camera yeah people are is that about it just come to me depends on where i am yeah you understand i don't try to force it sometimes i'll i have nothing and i'll just leave it alone let's go hey yeah get to the world and move along yeah so i don't try to force that doesn't make it come to me because you start forces to start doing creative stuff yeah i didn't want to be that great it's unnatural yeah exactly so 08 this happens yeah yeah yeah and everybody was like yo imagine what would happen if it never did that another race meanwhile by the way loan dos and then people gap you said not just one inch let's just leave a mile um and then you're like in reviewing the race you know sorry liquid actually you got faster yeah a lot faster but i didn't i have never run for world records never through my life it was never about world records for me because people your worker that worker will be broken at some point yeah you understand that's how i look at it right but you see if you win championship or someone championships and championships yeah that's the fact that's the for this championship someone championships no one can take that away from you you understand yeah they can't say oh you're what they're gonna remember these great olympic medals they understand i don't want to be you used to be the first manual one time you understand but i've won three olympia back-to-back no one will never forget that you understand people if in the era no people won't remember that you were you understand they would have to probably look back through their thing and go oh yeah yeah yeah it was it was like exactly but when you win championships after championship champion they can't forget that can i ask you something i've always wondered does one matter more to you guys and other olympics versus world championships yeah the olympics is the highest level right you understand for because there's every sports come together right you understand so it's the biggest stage that's why that's why basketball players always try to go to the olympics because it's so such a big stage to actually have all the government as any basketball player that's why now these greats always go to olympics yeah even once yeah just to win a gold medal so they can say listen i have this in my collection because it's so so big so definitely olympics is bigger stations every four years so it shows how dedicated how great you are if you can win over the span of four years and in the longevity to maintain a level of the consistency yeah yeah yeah um none of us wanted to see you stop yeah let's just lay the facts i mean no no enough already yeah but you were ready and some would say you stopped prematurely in their opinion what would you say to the person thinks if you you retired too early no it's the passion was not there again like one time i understand and if you don't love something as much as you used to love it it's it's not going to work that's how i look at it yeah there's something that answered the people out there if you don't love something don't do it understand yeah understand the worst thing you can do is stuck in something that they don't love yes you're gonna be depressed and when you have to go work you're gonna be like ah this again and and the other things that i'll accomplish what i wanted you understand my main aim is to win three olympics back to back to back and then i was planning to retire um after uh real right that was my plan really yeah and then everybody and my sponsors and everybody was like no no one more one one more year it's gonna be london you have to go back you have to go back they have to go back i was like well i really don't want to i was like all right you know what one more year and i kill nobody a few of my friends i think this is the first time i'm ever gonna say this in the interview and because i never wanted people to say the reason why i didn't say it then because i never wanted people because when you tell people stories like every year before i go to a championship i tell my i always go to my doctor and get my full checkup before i go to the championship and when i went to my championship when i went there my doctor told me do not go really he said do not go to the championship because i promise you'll get injured really and i was like i just like yeah your muscles i can't tell you muscles you're not prepared because that season i didn't train for 200 meters right i just trained for 100 meters right because i knew i wasn't gonna run any 200 meters so when i got injured here it was harder for me to actually get back to the level because i had no real background training on and i would never say it because i never want people to say oh it's because you're losing me but my doctor actually told me not to go to the championships i was like doc i cannot not go to the championships everybody's waiting everybody's there to see me it would be a let down not to go yeah and you know the history of that but i also feel like that year was really a challenging year um a lot happened even personally that year um and i will i will actually i've never said this to you but i will say no that's the first time that you have performed or done your job and actual literal tears came down my face because i feel like it took everything out of you emotionally you're still dealing with the loss of a very good friend your body obviously no i know that you knew wasn't where it needed to be i felt like i looked at you and it just felt like you laid everything on the track it was it was one of it was it for me it was one of the the toughest things i've never lost anybody like really close to me yeah i've lost like family but i don't really know them they understand and i've heard about cousins or whatever yeah but i've never allowed somebody that would hang out or park every day or travel together yeah i knew jeremy from like 2002. yeah you understand we went to world juniors together yeah so we we came through the ranks and everything so for me when that happened for two months it i couldn't operate i went to training but it was there just go into the motion you understand so for me it was a rough year but as i said i had to come out i had to perform i had to come do what i wanted to do yeah you understand and it was something something that we even know was sitting on our reminisce i was looking at whole chilling that videos or whatever i will laugh on that's the channel it'll be so much fun if you are still here but yeah it's one of those things you have to deal with there's a song that every time i hear it no matter what i think of jer and it's from that section that selection of songs that's okay here that selection of soccer songs out here and it's far from finished yeah yeah yeah yeah always think and i always think of you guys on the plane yeah jumping jumping and i'm like oh i cannot hear that song and not have that visual you know wow yeah so difficult though and this is what people don't understand they see you guys and they think you must just go out and perform but you you're dealing with all the elements of being a human being exactly the weight of everything yeah they feel like they feel like we don't have problems right now people yeah i think a lot of people don't feel like oh yemen is famous that's it nothing his life is perfect you understand and that's how people look at things but just like in a normal person who just excel more at ascending oh that's right that's right that's actually why i hold this space i hold this space because i want to humanize people that people have put on a pedestal like they're humans first definitely yeah you try to explain to people i've i've tried to ex what i've learned yeah true track and feel i remember when i started out all i wanted to do was to do it for jamaica because i wanted to make jamaica proud i was so passionate competing for my country that was that was my thing is that myself i was like yo i always wanted to perform when i got on jamaica and then through my junior years through the all ages the bashing and the words and the way they talk about you you're in front of your face it's just you're shocked like yo do you know how to work just to try to to win these things so short my career i've learned to put myself first you understand i put myself first and then my country comes after me because i want to do this for myself i want to be great for myself and when i'm great for myself i'm great for my conscious also so it's something that i learned at an earlier stage and it really helped i must say it was rough while it was happening yeah yeah but it was good a long time you know that one person did said something never forget hurt me to the core twice he did it i'll never forget i went um in o5 ran the i made the finals at helsinki yeah and i ran and up and i felt something in my hands and i grabbed me i had to ease up i was last dead last and he was like oh he got paid to stop and i was like paid to stop and he said that on national tv and then i'll never forget my last race when i ran in the national stadium and he came down after everything and i was like oh oh no we're trying but congratulations respect you highly blah blah blah all the nuns and sunset and then after i i i got injured again yes yeah he was like oh he's a joker is he's not serious i'm not bro you just shook my hand the other day and said like that hurt me to the core yeah to know what i've done for my country through the years and you're gonna try to to to judge me as a person yeah the more the level that i brought jamaica to for me that was one of the toughest things you know and i i was so angry for months and months because i was like oh he pulled his arms he couldn't walk i was like bro what you understand because i didn't want to take a reach i didn't want that image of me in a wheelchair on my lashes so i got up my friend and i limped off yeah like in a normal person just to be respectful and what he said really bothered me and hurt me that's those two things shot my whole career with the same person has never hurt me so much in my entire have to know that somebody was shay man and then at the end of my career to to judge me i had to call my my my personality calm you know like i i didn't care i just showed up because so you know it's it's really interesting to hear you bring that up because something happened in recent times that i saw and it it bothered me a lot it bothered me a lot because sometimes i get the sense that jamaicans don't truly understand the magnitude of what your brand is abroad so you see how well i mentioned how i travel how much time i send you pictures from greece or from africa with you on the wall and i'm like yo he is everywhere and i don't think jamaicans get that i don't think they understand what you have done for brand jamaica and you said something the other day um and i believe you it's it's i almost get the sense that you feel like you they love to scapegoat you they love to make you an example like let's just you know create excitement for the sake of it it's it's just what you live in a country i kind of understand after a while that you have to just deal with it but yeah the fact is as i said they don't they don't really understand my brand right the people who travel yeah the level of respect that i get from people who travel than other people that don't travel because they go there and when they say oh i'm from jamaica you say bolt people are here just because i'm always humble and nice and smiling and laughing and everybody is accessible to me they can see me and touch me and talk to me and whatever so they're like all right cool but they don't understand i'm gonna find i can't just walk around like any normal person yeah and that's fun which is also probably why the option was taken for you to run your final race in london because in the uk you are huge crazy it's that the uk is yeah because it's so much jamaicans yeah yeah in the uk and then the olympics was there so it's massive bro yeah yeah like ridiculous did you just say bravo yeah it is massive bro in it so it's just one of those things though yeah you understand that i've i've learned like i never forget me and jerry again yeah he went to to see his mother in london and with us there and we kept with us standing up the front and chilling and one person saw me i'm like yo bolt and then can i take a picture take a picture 15 minutes after that it's like people that's a pop-up from out of nowhere y'all understand i'm like yo i have to we have to just move so it's just one of those things that we learn and i've learned to to to not stress about how jamaicans might act because i understand i still love them but i understand them it's um you have broad shoulders and you bear it well put it that way you i think you are the perfect example of not letting the nonsense interrupt your piece you are the perfect example of that because yeah i get the sense that you're not shaken or stirred by it i don't i'll listen to people i said to my friends though listen y'all say yo you know you're what a person say are the person i do it's like bro if they've not tripped my life all my money see there it doesn't bother me yeah as long as it's not my life or my money i'm i'm quite fine with everything they want to say yeah because i know who i am as a person and i'm very comfortable who i am you know what i also know about you what's that what's that thing where is she going with this yeah yeah um you are not just competitive in the track space you're competitive full stop yeah can we please talk about i'm going to go there yo what do you guys see and you're saying when i'm playing domino mercy said no it's not nothing surprisingly no a chris a christmas get that from him that's martin we had him always play domino yeah khan's finally yeah and one day them start this new thing i might say oh so this way i don't know all right cool do it you understand so it's just something that will always do you understand so you don't really want that embarrassment so it's something that and i'm very passionate about them it's like very we can tell will cost so i'm gonna cause vex costs yes everyone gets six millimeter cars i mean i suppose i get sick so you turn over the table yeah that's that no no i'm gonna retreat my friend named who knows some of them may say oh you know what it's just something that i enjoy man yeah i really enjoy playing diamonds something that weirdest thing no i've gotten into french because like bibi briscoe yeah tatan island monday can't play domino right now but bb so when would chilo know nobody can play diamonds so i have to play friends so we're in differential especially since the the carolina time we can't go yeah too much of it to stick together as friends yeah it's mostly friendship okay i have a confession a while ago when he said we're mostly i'm i really got into french now i thought you were talking about the language oh my god no but you know why what do you call my phone and say a while ago and what was my answer croissant i was like what christmas i know two things in french said that to you so i'm gonna go with corso so miss swear yeah all right so i'll never forget i wanted to learn spanish yeah i wanted a response i knew this girl and she was like all right i'll help you i just sat my door and she was like explaining the syllabus now whatever next thing and i was like well i was kind of catching in the country explain me what not to say this is what was that cool and then she gave me words i said um let's learn these words like i'm gonna do homework nah this is not gonna work it's not gonna work out i was like forget this yeah and another story again i swear to you man nj when i don't remember where i was like yo we need to really learn spanish yeah we'll bought this registered stone loaded onto our ipad we're like yo we're going to listen to it and then we'll quiz each other and really and like five years after that i was cleaning one of my bags and i phoned the ipad [Laughter] yeah we totally did nothing five months you know five years after that we're phoning a bag of cleaning i was like bro finally i posted that there it is ridiculous that's crazy yeah that is funny that is true for him when um when this thing is said and done what what what does usain want to be remembered for the my most is just to be among the greats you know yeah you understand that that's my aim because growing up and seeing the micah johnson the muhammad ali the peri all these guys they understand so when i started out and i just wanted to be olympic champion that was my main goal and then i was like yo i need to really aim bigger yeah and i sat down with my coach and i was like yo how do you feel like i can get into the room or to the level of this person he said listen if you can win cheerleadings back to back no doubt because no one has ever done it right before um i think there's a carlo is one 100 meter twice right but he has never won a 200 meter twice and he said if you can go beyond that you put in a different level in that category by yourself i was like let's do it how does it feel like like when you think about that like think about yo means a contribute come from trilani and i am in a category by myself how that feels is that crazy faith you understand it's something that you can't believe you understand they can't follow me because yo i could never dream this big at the start you understand because you start out you're like oh winning olympic gold medal is the biggest thing right oh my goodness this is it yeah and then yeah we know the people as they're like you know what if i win two and then you reach to a stage where you're like yo i can't believe you understand yeah from where i'm coming from to where i'm at today i mean angie is sitting and we talk about it all the time yeah everyone we really reminisce and i say oh bro we did it yeah we did it now we don't want to stop but still one big build up our legacy right right notice i try to figure out how okay i make the brand greater right that's the next step you understand so the focus is different one is there a scooter parked in your driveway not in the driver but to the side thanks for the charity [Laughter] it's just i wouldn't say it doesn't make moves yes just figure always find different ways to make your moves you understand because it's not even it's not everybody wants to succeed are to be great but i never forget one thing i said i remember um i don't remember what and i can't i hope one day my snaps remind me of it so i can save it yeah i remember somebody they did something and they were like yo yeah man i'm not gonna make it see it with no say my goddamn anime i think it was like finger before by 2012 olympics and i never figured i went to my snap and i said you guys can keep open it will never happen and i got tired it's in my face and i hope every day i was like yo i'm trying to like find that snap that's the post again i told you yeah it's something that yo trust me this is why i live in the gym yeah that's why we met the truck because people need to understand that yo anything you want me anything you understand i am passionate about it those push managers believe yeah they understand believe it can be great yeah i understand because as i said the conscience comes from shield content now i'm bushkarna yeah my house where i live is it was the was it the turtles to the end of the road yeah where there was nowhere else yeah and it was just bush just for miles after that i understand yeah so i was like at the back of the country i don't want to say i've been moved from that yes man to being one of the greatest sprinters ever is you can't it's just work and dedication and finding the right people and you understand because having the right people running is so important yes a word because people when you have people who are saying come on come on party and they know you're for work get rid of them people i know yes man need us yeah you do need to say yeah i said yeah yeah we can do that next week you understand you need people only man trust me see if they can work hard and you can focus and you know you want that you have the right to the people on your pick right to the people you'll be fine trust me anything is possible yo i feel motivated let me say hold on anything is possible anything move over beyonce i am going to ask you if you could give me your top three life hacks so the things that you're just like look here if you did these things in life or these are the biggest lessons i learned or don't forget to do this what are the three things that you would say are your top three life hacks i'm going to put a clock one second now for your sagicor life hacks i feel like everything we do have been timed it's just because all right go for me it's just hard work yeah dedication uh understanding that it's not gonna be easy for me those three things if you understand those three things you'll be fine they understand because a lot of people have them feel them stop yes you go as i'm feeling like yo cool if you're passionate about something you can't just give up the first time i feel yes you understand learn from that why did i fail because that my course my quote said one thing to me when we started i never forget him so listen you have to learn how to lose before you can learn how to win and i'm like what a word doesn't make no sense and he's like yo anytime i figure that out nobody can stop you and it took me like two years [Music] you understand anthony and the woman figure out like oh yeah when you lose you have to figure out why you lost so you figure why you lost cause most people them lose them just get depressed oh my goodness but when you if you lose or you feel and you're sitting down and say all right cool mafia what did i do wrong and i can't the truthful to yourself all right i didn't train hard it's the master my goat what two times every week you understand whenever drink enough water all right cool now change them things up all right come again bomb your feet you lose again all right want me to do wrong this time you haven't as that's what it meant and i was like cool and it was so good it took me two years i was like what this is look here better two years than never exactly exactly but he wanted me to figure that out by myself because i figure things by itself sometimes yeah it sticks with you and you appreciate it i appreciate it more yes that's why people are saying yo sometimes you have to make people make mistakes seat there yes to to to understand to learn it's funny you said that because i remember with my daughter um i'm a very very practical person very practical and i'm very reasonable and i speak once that's the truth you're like you just said you're a reasonable yo hey one time but my thing is if i said to her don't touch this glass i don't just say doe touch this glass i said to her don't touch the glass because you're going to spill the water you need to break the glass and it can cut you i'm done speaking if she go and touch the glass on it break i bet she don't touch the glass again she wore it and obviously not something that's going to be to her absolute detriment but and to this day you know if i said to her you know no don't go over there yes yeah because you know there's a reason why you're turning around correctly and also the one time she'll never listen she'll learn yeah she learned from the mistakes that's right that's right name me your what is the one valley moment of your what would you say was the lowest point that you've experienced in your journey oh wow for me it's my youth isn't it yeah i think after first olympics yeah because people don't know i actually went to the the all four that's right olympics in greece right i understand and i didn't even make it past the first round and for me that was when everything really when jamie comes like ah this and that and this and that and for me that was one of my lowest moments yeah and what's the what's been i mean i can think of a few that may not preempt you what's your peak in your journey one of my joy my biggest choice i really don't know [Music] oh my god it's definitely one's definitely birth of my daughter i was there that was pretty cool but in my track and field career there's so much high moments for me my favorite is actually my 200 meters and i broke a record for the first time at 200 meters that because my 200 is my favorite event and i never figured i was doting myself i never get i had my roommate maurice smith and he was saying yo you're going to break the 20 meters go out there i'll just leave everything up on the track you understand and for me that was the moment that i was i was so happy i didn't even know what to celebrate because i was so happy because i've i've trained so hard to perfect the 200 meters so it meant so much to me i like that the birth of olympia is one of them because i actually i'm gonna test your skills on something okay yeah so mr world record holder it's just brock record fifone him i'm going to give you a challenge i love her he's looking at me every time you say every time i say look what's coming next so you have been on active duties oh god you mentioned the red bag here is the red bag so i'm actually going to check just how good you are at certain responsibilities so this actually this is my granddaughter everyone meet my granddaughter haley i i raided my daughter's toy basket so excuse that a diaper like a dress but here is her diaper correct yeah now what i'm going to ask you to do is change haley's diaper he's ready so i have a clean diaper for you yeah question yeah why do you have diapers [Laughter] so but here is the catch you have to change this diaper in under nine points five eight seconds oh not gonna do that well pulley challenge be gentle my daughter this is the mastercard priceless moment so you go you what you have to do is have 9.58 seconds on the clock you need to change my granddaughter but i also want to warn you that you might book up something in the diaper whoa whoa what is happening what okay are we ready you warmed up your fingers no i'm not ready because nobody book of something nervous all right in five four three you want to take out the a wipe you want to you know yeah yes i mean i make it complicated or for you in five four three two go well you beat it 200 record 6572 you see it is available it would be easy no but that's what we said right everybody scratched the beginning how happy she is well done i'm impressed come on by the way no joke i need you all to see that that was a shocker what did you put it's black bean sauce that's so bad that's so bad i had to check how good you were i had to check if you were just like telling us stories that you're you know you are yeah you've got this super dad oh to the rescue you go thank you so much it's so good to chat with you it's good to catch up um and i'm i the flag that we have thank you for just being a whole g anytime i go anywhere in the world and i'm in the taxi and say where are you from i said jamaica are you saying bolt i'm like that's the one but thank you should take a picture so you can say you know i know him look actually most people miss them no of them can't chat to me after this i'm going to be like free ride yeah i'm using his friend yeah i know him very well thank you so much i actually have a gift for you i have a little something for you it's not a diaper and there is no phone number and there is nothing in it but i do
