meet you right there amen so we were uh back there and we were just kind of praying for the service and just hearing what the lord was saying and a theme came out and he just kept over and over being re-emphasized in prayers that were going out and just words and declarations and that word is breakthrough everybody say breakthrough all right now you got to say it like you believe it though everybody say breakthrough or you just prophesied what's about to happen in your life but i wanted to share this scripture and i want us to do something as the body and then we're going to jump into this place of worship and this is from 2nd samuel 5 verse 20. it says sir david went to and there he defeated them he said as waters break out the lord has broken out against my enemies before me so he called that place by all means the god of and then breakthrough so right now i feel an expectation and expectancy in this house because i know for a fact that there's some people who came into this place right now because this this house this god the people around them at their last hope to experience a miracle a breakthrough and a turnaround in their lives come on somebody and the beautiful thing about this is that god is going to do it and i was just having a conversation with corey and he was like man i feel like the spirit of intercession is something that's about to break out in our house and over our generation so this is what i want you to do i want you to take one minute and turn to the person next to you and just ask them a very simple question and say hey how can i pray for you for the next 30 seconds what do you need a breakthrough for in your life just talk to them right now what is happening is the body being the body [Music] come on it goes both ways ask them what is the one thing that you didn't break through in your life it might be doctors may have told you otherwise the professionals may say it's impossible but let me tell you what the bible says about the power of two or three agricultures touching something on earth come on somebody your miracle your breakthrough was sitting right next to you and you didn't even know it [Music] now just begin to pray for them right now just begin to agree with them right now just begin to declare the goodness of god over them right now come on somebody oh i am come holy spirit come holy spirit come on 30 more surrender in this place i feel like there's a grace for rededication of hearts rededication of lives rededication of priorities rededication of everything i feel like there is a grace to where the lord is calling us back to himself but i also know that there's some people in this place where maybe it's been so long and that you've forgotten how to come to that place and and you're singing these songs but it's not words and then you remember what it was like when you first said yes and the joy that filled your heart and the focus and how jesus was everything but through all the cares of life and the business of ministry even your heart has become calloused and cold and now by proxy remember what it felt like to mean these words where jesus was your everything but now it's just words and i was in that place and it took me a second i'm like oh my goodness what does it mean for him to be my one thing i still remember there were days to where when i was first born again i would just hear just think about jesus in the tears and start streaming down my face and now my heart is growing cold but the beauty of this moment the beauty of the anointing that's in this room right now is the holy spirit is calling us back to that place and giving us a grace for that place and if that's you i just want anyone in this room just to close your eyes and just just put your hands out in front of you and for some of us if you can you might even mean kneeling and i just want us to once again rededicate our hearts to him and our lives to him and to give him our everything everything else had our time our affection and our attention and what good did it do us he is all in all and i want to send our prayer right now around this promise ezekiel 36 26 and this is what he says he says i will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you i will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh that's the promise of his word he said he will that means all we need to do is receive so this is in a hype moment this is whatever this is a moment for you to close your eyes and to close yourself in with your father and i like jaelyn just seeing that i surrender over verse one more time and then at the end of that i just want you to speak to your father and just say father give me that heart take this heart of stone and give me that heart of flesh a heart that loves a heart that is willing a heart that is moved by your presence give me a new spirit a spirit of intimacy a spirit of joy spirit of life so jaylo can we sing it one more time and as we sing it begin to position yourself and after that i just want you to talk to your father for a second [Music] i will is [Music] to surrender your life to him right now [Music] not just the good the bad things but the good things as well [Music] [Music] just give him everything give him everything the things you've done for him the sin that so easily besets you just give him everything your children your marriage your finances everything just give him your entitlements give him all he is worthy of it all he deserves it [Music] all oh we surrendered jesus [Music] now talk to your father through his holy spirit just begin to literally see yourself coming before him and laying every crown down everything that you hold valuable in your heart and in your life right now the pressure to figure it out the right to know give him that timeline right now for some of you give him that relationship i know it's the most precious thing that you have but it's not worthy he is worthy right now oh where his spirit is there is liberty and i literally see right now as you turn your heart things are being broken off of you in the name of jesus oh father we surrender it all jesus oh you are worthy jesus you are the one thing jesus [Music] foreign some of you it's anger you've been angry at god because to you he did not do what you believe god should have done she should have lived he should have been healed you should have looked out for me should not have happened to me but the lord is just saying give me that resentment right now give me that anger give me that hurt let me carry it for you [Music] oh we surrendered all jesus [Music] all the grief all the bondage all the addiction there's no life in it just give it up to him right now thank you jesus oh thank you jesus and if there's people in this room and you do not know jesus you've never had a relationship with him this is your moment this is your day as the everybody else in this room just realigns themselves with their father that's you if you've never said yes to the lord just just make your way up here it's just going to be an intimate moment just come and just kneel before your father and have a conversation with him [Music] jesus we love you [Music] we give you everything father thank you jesus just take 30 more seconds right now and then we'll take communion [Music] there's a grace to give it all right now there's a grace to give it all [Music] thank you jesus thank you father [Music] this is about intimacy [Music] and intimacy is about covenant intimacy is about covenant and right in front of you and the seat around you [Music] you'll find the elements of communion and i want you to get out of this space and i don't want you get out of this place because we're we're going deeper into it but i'd love for us to take some time to take communion together as a family right now centered on the simple fact that the sacrifice of his son gives us access to this intimacy that because of the blood of jesus [Music] no one deserves to stand outside and you have all the access to all this intimacy and this grace and this love healing for your brokenness wholeness for your lack and the bible says in jesus on the night that he was betrayed he took the bread and he broke it and he said as often as you do this do this in remembrance of me do this in remembrance of my body that was broken for your forgiveness so i'd love for you to just take the bread right now [Music] and just hold it up and what do we do when we remember something good gratitude is the natural expression so i want you to just hold up this representation of his body broken for your brokenness and for your wholeness and just begin to thank him thank him that sin has no dominion over you him that his divine power has given you everything that you need for life and godliness [Music] thank you that none of this disease of egypt has a right to be on your body thank him that the chastisement of our peace was upon him and by his stripes you are healed thank him that you walk in divine provision [Music] thank you that you have divine wholeness just thank him that you have sound mental health in the name of jesus thank him that whatever was true of the body of jesus christ when he walked the earth is true of yours for by his brokenness we're made whole and so father we just thank you for this body of your son broken for our forgiveness we thank you for the divine provision that it brings us we thank you for the health and wholeness and well-being and healing and it brings us and as we break it and partake of it we do it in remembrance of the sacrifice of your son we love you and we thank you in jesus name let's partake of the bread right now the hebrew people believe that the life of a thing is in its blood and so when his blood was shed his life was poured out to give you life so as we remember and partake of this juice which represents his blood i want you to remember that his blood gives you total access into his holiness this blood cleanses you from all your sin this blood makes you whole this blood has provision for every thing that you need so father we just thank you for the blood of jesus we thank you for the blood that gives us intimacy and access we thank you that by his blood we can lift up holy hands without wrath or doubting we thank you that by his blood the sin that i committed yesterday does not define me we thank you that by this blood i stand as the righteousness of god in christ jesus and i thank you that no sin past present or future has the power to preempt this blood father i thank you that the by this blood i am a son and daughter of the most high god i thank you that by this blood nothing can separate me from the love of god and so i thank you that every hindrance is removed and every barrier is broken and i stand in unveiled communion with the son of god because of the blood of jesus and as we partake we got brought into remembrance of that fact so with gratitude and thanksgiving we partake of this blood and we say thank you jesus for your sacrifice in jesus name amen can partake of their blood so father we just bless you and we thank you lord that we're called saints and that is our identity father i pray that as your people father as we continue with the service we would be brought fully back to the intimacy of knowing you and so we enthrone you once more as the one thing and we thank you and we bless you in jesus mighty name amen hey man god bless you guys j lu thank you all so much can we just give it up for our worship team right now [Applause] what a privilege come on somebody what an honor a year ago meeting was not really a reality but god has brought us back and every once in a while i'm reminded of the beauty of what that looks like hey welcome to the upper room welcome to your father's house could you guys do me a favor could you turn to the person next to you and say i'm glad you're here come on and i'm glad you look good come on somebody they need to hear it all right they didn't put all that effort into looking this good so you can act like it's an entitlement come on somebody right hey just like some some quick announcements before we transition into an incredible part of the service hey if you have seats right next to you and there's no one there could you just put your hands up and that way our incredible team of ushers can have some of our people come in here that is number one number two our prayer room is closed how many of you guys know that prayer is who we are it's the culture of who god made us amen but that does not mean it's confined to a building i know there's incredible things that happen here but for labor day we are closed we're going to be closed all day tomorrow but that means hey you can get around the people that you love and get your prayer on as well come on we will be back on tuesday at 6 00 a.m so we hope to see you guys there i'm excited because we do this thing two way every single month we all fast together as a house and as a community and that's why we call our marinata fast and the first monday tuesday and half day of wednesday we are fasting as a community as a staff and all of us so our cry is still the same maranatha come lord jesus because when he comes everything changes amen and so we will be fasting from tomorrow through wednesday and we would love for you guys to join us come on somebody how many of you guys are committing and saying you know what i'ma do this come on there we go i'm watching all of y'all i'm kidding but yeah hey if you're watching over here here we'd love for you guys to join us and then uh man i'm excited because we're about to jump into the word and um i can safely say that my spiritual formation would not be the same without this man that i am about to introduce right now if you've never ever heard of days of noah or ancient paths you need to do yourself a favor and just go just go just just go to spotify or apple music and google those two things but man corey is someone who has deeply impacted not just my life but this generation with his yes lifestyle to the lord and his outward facing how many of you guys know corey russell is a wild man come on somebody corey is a wild man just a quick testimony i was with a bunch of pastors this past weekend and there's a pastor very well respected in a lot of circles he's out in new york very revered he's an intellectual and he's got all these kinds of people but he had this desire to just live a life of prayer and he couldn't articulate this so he's like he asked some of his stuff he's like this is what i'm trying to say right this is what and he couldn't articulate and one of his staff said oh you mean like corey russell and he's like who's cory russell so they pull up their phone and they start playing this this one of his songs and everything and he's like he walked around the staff office saying this is what my heart sounds like this is what my heart sounds like but that's what it is if you guys don't know what i'm talking about and then so he invites corey to one of their services and i just want to give you guys an idea so that as we honor we're expectant and and it's it's a more laid-back kind of community it's in new york right the who's who's of of life are they and everything and he says corey showed up and i'm telling you guys his sonship manifested come on somebody he's over there he's just laying hands on people and screaming fire and he's like and none of those people had ever seen this but here's this incredible testimony and it's like this great like um hollywood model individual was in this place and they were pregnant but right during that service they start losing nobody knows this but they go into the bathroom and they're about to lose this baby and they do this and they go into the bathroom and all these things are happening and they come back into the service i think ready to leave or something then corey just threw a word of knowledge goes straight to this person and says you will not lose this baby and that baby is two years old come on somebody is that incredible so as you guys honor god for his miraculous power i'd love for you guys to stand up and honor the caliber of people that we have in this house guys corey [Applause] awesome sit down i didn't find out about that testimony until like a year and a half after and i don't remember laying hands on the girl so i just love it that we don't remember anything and god just uses weak people that forget everything we do and the lord moves which is all about him i'm not playing i'm not just saying there's a platitude i love that i don't remember and it's awesome and the lord does amazing things like that yeah man it is an honor to be with you guys thank you reward we love you guys and uh i am i i absolutely loved worship thank you guys that was beautiful it was deep and um yeah we me and my family spent 18 years in kansas city at the international house of prayer we've been here coming up on three years so yeah january will be three years been on staff here and leading in the prayer room and the school and uh yeah it's just an honor to be with you guys one of the things that me and michael talked about pastor michael miller when we were dreaming about me coming here was we were talking about a life message that has gripped my life and it's the uh the message of the revelation of intercession the revelation of intercession that marked me about 20 years ago it's been something i've taught it's been something i've practiced it's been something i've lived but i i want to tell you that i i am feeling more clarity and more authority and i feel like we're in a kairos moment here at upper room to enter into a greater revelation of intercession of intercession and and i believe that the lord wants to catch us up in the power of prayer that begins to touch our homes touch our marriages touch our our businesses our schools our lives as well as this room and that we would rule in the place of prayer that we would rule in the place of prayer and worship and i i want to talk into that today and one of the first things you have to do when talking about intercession is you gotta sometimes deal with some of our first thoughts when you think of intercessors or intercession i mean i got radically saved in 1997 i'm from northwest arkansas and right from the womb of coming into my salvation experience i began to connect with these older women intercessors huh y'all know who i'm talking about devil come out or i'm coming in after you kind of women y'all know these women where are those women come on we ain't got nobody here okay here we go here we go you know these these women always they never sleep they're always always up just pacing in the room and they said i was praying for you last night and we didn't have essential oils back then but we had candles everywhere i'd come to it i cut my best friend i mean before i came to the lord i would come to his house high as a kite just looking for a bed she'd be waiting at the door you're going chandela none of those demons are coming in this house cory you come in but leave those demons outside i stayed at his house another night just looking for a pillow and laid my head on the pillow and i go what in the world she'd put anointing oil all over the pillow i know some of you moms in here got little prayer claws underneath timmy's bed but we're not going to talk about it because timmy sat next to you so [Laughter] get him lord remember one prayer from those years released the hounds of heaven release the hounds of heaven i don't know what that is but but it's deep [Laughter] i cut my teeth my i kid you not right when i got saved at 20 years old my two first years of salvation i hung out the majority of my time with two 50 year olds and one 80 year old woman these girls were my best friends i want you to know guys it's not about being cool is being on fire it has nothing to do with age if you get fire on your spirit people want to be around you so i hung out with these girls all the time i prayed every morning 6 a.m with an 80 year old lyla and i'm just screaming in tongues and she's just rocking in her chair yes lord do it lord never forget that season and and i'm grateful for that and i'm grateful for the women that have carried the torch of intercession for the last 2000 years women thank you i believe the closest ones in the throne are going to be moms and grandmas that labored all through the years of their life for the sons their daughters their grandchildren and that everything that god said would come about they're going to be the closest ones to the throne and even when they were mistreated and misunderstood and maybe left to the side maybe mistreated by their husbands they took that place and entered into intercession and let it push them into intercession i believe one of the reasons that there's prayerlessness on our men is because of the way we treat our wives you know first peter 3 says be kind be gentle with your wives lest your prayers be hindered that's another message but i just want to release a little shank in there to the men a little prison yard shank right there real quick but i i'm grateful for that but i want you to know that i really believe that god is taking the understanding the current understanding of intercessors and intercession from a backroom mini a back room ministry with a few and he's bringing it to the front room for all and it's not primarily just a women's ministry there's an intercessor in heaven and it's not a woman and i believe that god's knocking off understanding matter of fact i don't see the calling of i'm an intercessor in the bible we know jesus is i would i would say that all of us have been born into this ministry and that it is the core new creation new creation identity of every born-again believer now some people have cultivated intimacy in the presence that has opened them up to join jesus in that place and i believe that there are ones that might be called to it in a full-time way but i want to knock this thing off that it's for a few and i want to give us all confidence to understand it's for all it's for every one of us to get intimate with jesus and to partner with him in this place because i believe it's the days that we're moving into it's the days that we're moving into and i have three desires in this morning's message number one is to see jesus at the right hand of the father number two to receive his intercession for you and number three to join him in his intercession for others it begins by looking at him not by trying harder christianity is not about trying harder it's about looking at him it's not pulling up your bootstraps and doing better it's about looking at the man at the right hand of the father putting your eyes on that man and as we behold him we are transformed into the same image that's the power of christianity is looking at jesus looking at him that's what we were just doing during worship that's called beholding a corporate beholding it gets simplified and we're locking eyes with that man and i want to tell you in that gap more things happen than you'll ever realize so i'm going to give you a lot of verses this morning we're going to go on a run can we run you got your running shoes on let's go second corinthians 3 18. but i would say and i'm not kidding this may be the most important verse on discipleship in the word of god i hear a lot about discipleship most of it is new tools to become a better christian behavior modification don't do that do this do these four steps and then you'll get better at life i will tell you it's not about behavior modification it's not about new tools those tools support something a lot bigger and that's to facilitate beholding jesus we all with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror it's a dim it's a dim mirror it's not a perfect reflection but it's a little bit and every day when we behold as in a mirror look at this the glory of the lord we are tr we are being transformed and i'm reading from the new king james we are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory just as by the spirit of the lord the phrase that hits me is into the same image the one you're looking at is the one you're turning into there is a principle in scripture called beholding becoming whatever you look at is what you become whatever you look at is what will take up the most interior real estate in your thought life your emotions and your desires and i want to call us to be holding the glory of the lord and being transformed into the same image look at him saints look at this beautiful man every day you look at him with an open bible and a connection with holy spirit something changes you may not feel it you may not levitate it may not be a huh but it will be over time days turn into weeks and the months into years and you start thinking different feeling different when you sin you don't run from him but you run to him that's the power of transformation romans 8 29 says this that whom he foreknew he predestined look at this to be conformed to the image of his son we are being conformed into the image of a son that's the agenda of the father is conforming us into the image of jesus so i want to talk this morning about seeing jesus when we talk about intercession the very act of intercession is standing between two opposing parties for the purpose of reconciliation you moms and dads do this every day when the kids get in a fight and y'all step in the middle and say and stop that peace now you tell him i want you to tell him you're sorry tell her you're sorry now hug and make up and let's get about our day that's the act of intercession standing in the gap for the purpose of reconciliation and the pain the greatest gap happened three chapters into our bible at the fall of man where the great divorce the great chasm between god and man occurred and yet we know from the very beginning in genesis 3 that there's going to come a seed through eve that will crush the head of the serpent that serpent will bruise his heel and he's prophesying of the cross from the third chapter of your bible we know there's coming a man that's going to reverse the curse and restore divine order as god intended and so the cry of the old testament is the family line by which the seed or the intercessor is going to come about and the storyline of israel and the bringing forth the messiah is god would raise up intercessors at significant points in israel's history to stand before god and to stand before man get into the gap for the furthering of the bringing forth of the intercessor people like abraham people like moses people like hannah come on girls there's something we always talk about abraham isaac and jacob but what about rachel or sarah and rebecca and rachel and how barren wombs bring forth the glorious promises how hannah got a vision she was barren and she got a cry so loud she didn't even say anything but this is what she looked like she looked drunk before the high priest eli as she cried out in bitterness of soul and god in one generation brought forth a child that restored priesthood the prophetic office and who would then anoint king david years later because of a woman's labor and intercession we see king david gripped with a vision i want god to have a house on the earth the lord says i love your heart and your throne is going to last forever and the messiah is going to sit on your throne prophets like elijah that brought the confrontation with the nation prophets like daniel in persia women like esther that in the midst of a death decree where the whole nation was going to be slaughtered a woman that was brought for such a time as this stood and averted the death decree to bring forth the promise the cry of the old testament is god looking for a man and the sad truth is god couldn't find a man who could ultimately bridge the gap between god and man isaiah 59 16 tells us he said he saw that there was no man and wondered that there was no intercessor therefore his own arm everybody say his own arm that's one of jesus names jesus is the outstretched arm of abba to a dying world and he's the dying world's reach to abba his own arm brought salvation for him and his own righteousness it sustained him when god could not find a man god became a man why did god have to become a man and why couldn't god and his divine being make intercession because there's something about humanity and a man that understands and sympathizes with the brokenness the plight the depravity the difficulties the limitations of what humans walk through so god the second person of the trinity had to become a man for the purpose of representing us before the throne therefore his own arm brought salvation he stretched out his arm it wasn't jesus running in front of angry dad the father provides his own intercessor his own arm brought salvation that man came into the earth he took on your form he took on your frame and then the perfect life you could not live he lived he i want you to see this we're going to get later to a verse in hebrews but it says that in all points he was tempted as we are which means everything that is common to every experience in this room he understands and that's what gives him authority at the throne is i get it i get it he he lived the life you could not live and then he climbed on that cross and what was belonging to all of us he said father pour it out on me isaiah 53 verse 12 the last verse of isaiah 53 it says i will divide him a portion with the great he shall divide the spoil with the strong and because he poured out his soul unto death he was numbered with the transgressors he bore the sin of many look at this he made next part he made intercession i don't know he made intercession where's it at i see it he made intercession for the transgressors the very last verse of isaiah 53 look at this there it is he made intercession a lot of us think of intercession as a loud prayer meeting intercession is a life surrender to the will of god you want to disarm principalities and powers in your home he was led as a lamb silent before it shears he did not open his mouth and yet he was disarming principalities and powers through the cross he was shut in the mouths of devils by not saying anything he was surrendering to the will of heaven offering himself in humiliation and in pain and suffering and breaking the back of the devil bankrupting hell and liberating captives the loudest prayer meeting was when he was the quietest he went into that grave rose three days later spent 40 days in the greatest conference of all time the resurrected son of man teaching on the kingdom of god and then he ascends into heaven and now we're going to the throne can we it's time to go to the throne because friends intercession and prayer is a throne room ministry can we go to the throne today you're like i don't know where we are we're going to the throne can you put psalm 110 up here i'm going to give you do you know what the most quoted old testament passage in the new testament is psalm 110. this psalm of david govern the mindset of the early church concerning the resurrection and the ascension of jesus and i believe that the lord wants to recover this apostolic psalm to the church in these days i believe that in this psalm is the church's strategy of how we rule in this season i i don't even have time to go into this this is absolutely phenomenal but david's overhearing a conversation between the father and the son how about that one for your quiet time in psalm 2 which is the second most old testament quoted psalm in the new testament and psalm 110 he's overhearing the father and the son in the eternal counsels and in verse 1 it says the lord which is yahweh said to my the lord my adonai so david knows that the messiah is according to the flesh is going to come through his lineage so he knows the messiah is going to be his grandson but david's getting a revelation his grandson is his god get your head around that one i can just see david when he's getting the vision in the tabernacle of david and he's sitting there and he's telling the scribe write this down the lord said to my adonai. david knows that there's coming one yahweh said to adonai the father to the son this is jesus's ascension to the throne of god he comes in to the new jerusalem after he's sacrificed on the cross he's bled he's raised from the dead and he ascends into the very holy of holies in the new jerusalem he left as the second person of the trinity he enters in as a resurrected man son of god into heaven and he walks in there offers his blood on the mercy seat and then the father looks at the sun and he goes good job son set it my right hand i want you to sit down i'm going to take over from here i want you to sit down and look at this until i make your enemies your footstool the lord shall send the rod of your strength out of zion which means the father said son sit down i'm going to take it from here i'm going to extend the borders of your kingdom i'm going to extort expand the rod of your influence over the next two thousand years i'm going to expand it to every tribe and tongue and people and nation i'm going to release it from this place i'm going to extend the fame of yeshua all over the earth father goes to work for the son and he tells the son this is how we're going to do it here you're sitting down and i'm going to teach you something rule in the midst of your enemies ruling through sitting ruling through sitting the lord is training the church and learning how to rule through sitting and he goes i got a gift for you jesus verse 3. i've got a bride of voluntary lovers i got a bride who aren't going to be forced into this thing they're not going to be robots they're not going to check off to do lists i've got voluntary lovers that are going to show up in the day of your power in the beauties of holiness which is a priestly phrase from the womb of the morning you have the dew of your youth and then verse 4 the father drops a dirty bomb on the planet the lord has sworn and will not relent you are a priest forever according to the order of melchizedek everybody see the devil wants to get everybody caught in the weeds who's melchizedek who's melchizedek who smoke it's about jesus see the devil will get you caught in little things yeah i like to sit back have coffee shop talk and talk about it but you want to know what governs my life i don't care i got my eyes on that man the biggest thing about melchizedek we just don't know where he came from the big thing about melchizedek is he brings together the kingdom and the priesthood together see the levitical tribe they were forbidden to become kings god separated those offices but in this figure melchizedek he brings together the king and the priest which means priesthood or prayer releases the scepter and releases the power god's going to teach us how to rule that didn't land we're going to keep talking about this well you're like well where does that show up how about on the day of pentecost peter comes out of that upper room preaches joel talks about david and then gets to about acts 2 32. go ahead let's run this jesus god is raised up of which we are all witnesses verse 33 therefore being exalted to the right hand of god and having received from the father the promise of the holy spirit you ever thought about that first thing jesus got when he got up there was holy spirit and father said now pour it out and he poured out this which you now see and hear verse 34 for david did not ascend into the heavens but he says himself the lord said to my lord sit at my right hand till i make your enemies your footstool therefore let all the house of israel know assuredly that god has made this jesus whom you crucified both lord and christ [Applause] when they heard this they were cut to the hearts see this revelation is going to fuel the church back an apostolic preaching that actually cuts again preaching that cuts not preaching that soothes not preaching that rubs not preaching that anoints but preaching that cuts and says what must we do to be saved jesus is exalted to the right hand of the father we need to get this spirit back on the church we need the victorious spirit back on the church or we'll let fox govern our emotions we'll let stock markets govern our emotions we'll let twitter feeds govern our emotions we'll let barbershop talk govern our emotions instead of the finished work of the resurrected son of god [Applause] ephesians 1 19 paul don't stop that you would know what is the exceeding riches oh forget it forget go back to acts 7 56. who wants to get jesus how about jesus standing i want a life that gets jesus standing up see there's preaching that gets people to stand up about how how about a life that gets jesus to stand and stephen in the midst of his stoning said look i see the heavens opened and the son of man standing at the right hand of god i love it it's jesus sitting right here at right hand father stephen's getting martyred and jesus stands he's mine he's mine i want jesus to stand when he looks at my life [Applause] oh to get a stand from him and he goes i see the heavens open and the son of man standing friends we got to get up there we got to get up there you got to get off your television screens you got to get off your iphone screens you got to get off your computer you got to get out you got to go up ephesians 1 19 that we would know what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe according to the working of his mighty power which he worked in christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places verse 21 far above all principality power might dominion every name that's named not only in this aid but in the age which ones that's coming colossians chapter 3. i love philippians 2 he was crucified and he was highly exalted i love the word highly exalted if you were raised with christ seek those things which are above where christ is where's christ saints where's he at no no to talk to me where's jesus at i remember my wife blessed me years ago i got wrecked with john g lake who's one of the fathers the pentecost movement the early 1900s he had this quote that she knew was my favorite so i was away on a weekend in like 2005 and i'd gone away for the weekend and she had written this on my prayer room and in my little prayer closet and here's the quote it's friends we need a coming up into god we've been walking around with our noses in the sand with our heads to the ground he goes i want to see jesus and he said well don't look to calvary because you won't find him there he goes lift up your eyes to the throne and let the throne life and the throne love and the throne power possess your soul till you become a new man in christ jesus and your song become the song of the victor in the march the march of the conqueror do you see him we don't yet but we're going to see them and it's what's going to restore something to the church that's been lost and i believe it's getting exposed in 2020 and 2021 we've lost connection to the man at the right hand and paul commands us to let the throne life fill your thought life if anyone says don't be so heavily minded you'll be no earthly good run from that person and if you are that person repent it's not true the higher you realize you've been brought if you're truly touching jesus it's going to be poured out through his servant life for the lowest of all it's going to get into the dirty and into the ugly of laboring to see the poor brought up and restored the right relationship with god see it's not about trying to get lower it's about realizing how high you've been brought hebrews 1 verse 3 says by himself i like that i don't need none of y'all's help i like that side of you by himself i got this he purged our sins and he sat down at the right hand of the majesty on high how about hebrews 4 14. here's my favorite one look at this seeing then that we have a great high priest look at this he's passed through the heavens up through the second heavens none of y'all principalities can touch me none of you demons and and powers and evil empires you can't touch me passing through the heavens he goes right from the third first goes through the second and he goes right into the third heaven where he walks right into the father's throne and sits down jesus the son of god let us hold fast our confession the book of hebrews is to a generation of jews who were under such persecution they were looking to go back to judaism because of the pressure and the writer of hebrews is anchoring the church in the supremacy and the preeminence of jesus he's greater than moses he's greater than the angels he's greater than joshua he's greater than aaron he's greater than everyone put your eyes on jesus pass through the heavens hold fast verse 15 we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses but was in all points everybody say all points tempted as we are yet without sin do you understand what that verse says we've got one of our kinfolk up there we've got our brother is who jesus is he's our brother he is fully god but friend he's fully man he's fully man and he completely absorbed everything that is common to the human experience and walk through it trusting the father through every temptation every trial every attack every arrow every demon breathed down his throat everything that came out of me trusted the father and he gathered us up into himself and he takes us to the throne and there is a man sitting at the right hand of the father you got that no neither do i there's a man who understands there's only one man in heaven everybody else are disembodied spirits and angels we've got kinfolk up there we got a brother what does what does hebrews 4 14 and 15 do to you it produces 16 let us therefore come boldly you know what boldly isn't some arrogant strutting boldly is i belong here i'm home i'm home i belong here i'm coming to the throne come to the throne come to the throne it's a throne of grace it's a throne of mercy it's a throne of glory it's a throne of power it's a throne of beauty it's a throne of righteousness it's a throne of justice come to the throne hallelujah everybody goes everybody just repeat this say what's the main point well hebrews 8 1 is going to tell us this is my one little joke i had preacher's joke this is the main point i had that all set up it is this is the main point of the things we are saying we have such a high priest who is seated where is he seated saints at the right hand of what of the throne of the what of the majesties where in heaven jesus do you see him yet do you see him yet i can't talk to you about the other two points until you see him there but i'm going to go ahead and give you the other two points so that you can feed on these realities for the next 20 years number two you've got to receive his intercession for you because you can't join him in something you haven't received and you got to first let him wash your feet so you can have a part with him i'm going to ask you a question i want you to take home for the week are you very good at receiving i believe that your ability to receive is core to the gospel and your inability will hinder the flow of the gospel into your life most of us will receive the one time finished work of the cross and we'll go from there but i want you to understand can you but hebrews 7 25 this verse is probably a life verse of mine therefore he is able to save to the uttermost what a word those who come to god through him since he always lives to make intercession for them this is what he's saying jesus's ability to save you to the uttermost not just justify you but sanctify you and not just sanctify you but glorify you do you know why you can have full confidence in jesus that the work that he's begun in you he will complete it do you know where that confidence comes from it comes from the fact that he's not going anywhere that he has offered one sacrifice for sins once and for all that is a perfect sacrifice it's an eternal sacrifice and he is now sitting at the right hand of the father that gives you confidence jesus you ain't going to let me down and you ain't going to let me go now this is my question we just had lou last week right what does jesus's intercession at the right hand of god look like what does that mean he always lives not he just did it but it's present because it's eternal and i've asked myself this for 20 years what does jesus making intercession look like is he loo well it's jesus through lou but what is jesus's posture we know he's sitting what does it look like for jesus to make intercession as i've wrestled over that verse for 20 years i feel like i boiled it down to three things number one his presence in the throne room makes intercession for you and me the fact he's there represents us before the throne and i've even been really thinking about this phrase right here we know what that means the power of god in meetings and what god does in this prayer room but think about that truth that his presence at the right hand of the throne of the majesty in the heavens is transforming lives morning noon and night look around the room if all of us knew everybody's stories you know what i'd be thinking how are you in here oh my god you did that my god well thank god for the blood he don't remember it but if all of our stuff was known i'd be looking at you going oh my god how'd you even get in here you should be dead right now you should be woke up from the streets because of how hard you partied last night again somebody be dragging you up right now how are you in here i'm serious how are you in here saturday nights where you were bent on killing yourself taking so many pills trying to do it saying i just want to end my life i don't want to live anymore and then you wake up sunday morning and all of a sudden you're going what was i thinking last night why am i thinking that way god you have been with me you have carried me and i'm here right now i'll tell you why it is it's because there's a man at the right hand of the throne who forever lives to make intercession for you [Applause] hebrews 9 24 says he that he has appeared in the presence look at that he has not appeared in an earthly tabernacle but into heaven itself to appear in the presence of god for us number two his blood makes intercession hebrews 12 24 says that the blood of sprinkling hebrews 12 24 the blood of sprinkling that speaks everybody say blood speaks that's why martyrs open up doors and nations it's because blood cries out and doors get opened that's why all those you know in ecuador after jim elliot and those guys died the gospel opens that's what happens but better things than that of abel abel gets killed by his brother the lord walks in and goes i can hear your brother's blood crying out from the ground abel's innocent blood was crying out justice justice justice jesus blood is crying out mercy mercy mercy at the right hand of the throne of god on your behalf his presence his blood and number three his words i believe jesus is speaking words at the right hand of the throne of majesty on your behalf he's whispering your name before the throne he's praying john 17 father keep them deliver them from the evil one i don't want you to take them out i want you to keep them through i want you to reveal my glory to them jesus is praying for you right now i love luke 22 31 put this one up here you're like man it's a lot of bible you know why a lot of bible because i'm not just coming up with how i feel i'm not basing my faith in how my week's going and i'm standing on solid ground the authority of the word of god and i'm going to spend 45 minutes hitting you with little scud missiles from every angle i can to make clear to you this is reality [Applause] jesus comes to simon the rock says hey simon simon satan has asked for you satan came to me and he said hey you see the rock not him peter he goes let me take my best shot at taking him out and i almost can hear peter going jesus you told him no did you you know why are we even talking why are you telling me well first of all how's the devil talking to you i you know that's what leave that word another day but jesus goes no i told him to take his best shot on one condition i get to pray for him do you have any idea the fact that you're in this room who's been through those seasons where you felt like every fault line in your life was exposed everything was exposed that's right we're going to get there he says but i've prayed for you not praying it's already settled i already prayed for you i got the breakthrough earlier and this thing's going to carry you through the next three days when you don't know if you're gonna make it i want you to know you're gonna make it i want you to know you're gonna come out of this season and you're gonna come out leaning on your beloved limping and trusting in me he says if i prayed for you that your faith won't fail you know what jesus takes good pride in presenting us faultless keeping us from stumbling and presenting us faultless before the throne he gets excited about that one i've prayed that your faith should not fail and when you've returned where am i going jesus when you return the power of this dark night is going to strengthen the church why because he prayed for you you have a personal intercessor at the right hand of the father but this personal intercessor is the head of the body he's the head of the church and jesus the intercessor loves to wake up his friends in the middle of the night and he loves to bring his really close friends into what's keeping him up and why he's crying and what he's speaking and what he's laboring for and so jesus is saying i don't want to do this alone because my people are hebrews 3 1 partakers of the heavenly calling i don't want to do this alone but i want to share my burdens with my people i want to bring them into my heart so that they can share my heart for the world i want to deliver them from selfishness and i want to bring them in friend he wants to bring you into his ministry of intercession for others i believe with all my heart god is wanting to exalt and bring intercession to stand with worship in this house i believe it's worship and intercession it's not just levitical that offers gifts and sacrifices but it's melchizedek which rules through setting intercession transcends time and distance and do you understand the profound power that we can have if we take 20 seconds here in a second to pray for afghanistan to understand that brothers and sisters are being really affected in real time and space because i said words to god that israel the middle east the call of women in this hour the nations see this is the power of intercession i can touch people right across irving with the power of my prayer but with the same power and same faith i can touch israel with the power of my prayer we gotta grow we gotta grow we got to grow we got to grow up into the head we got to move into a place of self of sacrifice and being poured out for others laboring for others the anointing of the spirit of prayer getting upon us can you put romans 8 26 up here just another minute likewise the spirit helps in our weaknesses we do not know what we should pray for as we ought but the spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered and then we get to see the unity between the holy spirit in jesus verse 27 he who searches the hearts this is jesus knows what the mind of the spirit is do you know the holy spirit has a mind because he's a person because he makes intercession for the saints according to the will of god which means this holy spirit within you and jesus at the right hand of god are in full unity with one another and that everybody put your hand on your belly friends this is the power of the holy spirit do you know that you are joined to that right to the right hand to that man at the right hand do you know that right now you are joined you have the spirit of jesus christ means this you can feel what he's feeling when he's feeling it you can think what he's thinking when he's thinking it you can pray what he's praying when he's praying it you can weep what he's weeping when he's weeping it because he's weeping it through you this is the amazing thing about god is he's got hundreds of millions of believers all over the world and malaysia some little woman in malaysia is getting woke up at three in the morning and she's praying in the holy ghost up all night i don't even know why or i just know god might show her it's in the u.s it might show it in the u.s and that little girl from malaysia is praying all through the night and god's taking that intercession and is strengthening you in your prayers and in your sleep at night when you don't know what's going on and breaking off devils and breaking off assignments and quenching arrows and awakening you to the god-given purpose so that you wake up and can enter into your calling now think about this he got hundreds of millions of lines like that i want the spirit of prayer to come on this house in an increased measure i want the spirit of intercession to come upon this house i want a spirit of travail i want tears i want groanings i want to enter into the soul of jesus christ for our brothers and sisters in afghanistan i want to pray for taliban and pray for the spirit of conviction to hit every one of them and for saul's to turn into pauls as they're seeking to wreak havoc in the church of afghanistan i want to see a massive deliverance a spirit of revival touch our nation i want to see a laodicean church come out of dullness out of compromise and into glory amen amen let's stand i'm sorry i'm just going to give it to you i want the spirit of prayer i want the spirit of prayer upon my life everybody i'll give you your practicals you're like how is this practical when listen here's your practical takeaway when god brings someone to your mind turn it immediately into a 20-second prayer [Applause] don't don't put it off turn it immediately into a 20-second prayer i used to only think my prayers mattered when i'm in this deep groaning place but i've discovered that the spirit of prayer is confidence i have the ear of god i have the heart of god and i have the hand of god he hears me and if i've got 10 million angels ready for dispatchment at my whispers because i'm sitting in christ in heavenly places there's your practical takeaway so do it get used to asking god for stuff other than your comfort and happiness and life going better get used to asking god for something more than yourself mention other people's names give yourself on behalf of them and watch what god takes care of it's the boomerang effect i'll take care of you if you just enter into my soul for others open up your hand i just want to ask that god would touch us with the spirit of prayer guys i know it i've lost it i get it again then i lose it again and i just ain't god i want the spirit of prayer on my life father i thank you for this beautiful house i thank you for the i thank you for these beautiful people i thank you for every story in this room father i pray that you would release the anointing of intercession i pray that we would see jesus at the right hand of the father i pray that we would receive his intercession for us and i pray that we would join him in his intercession for others father i pray that you would release the spirit of revelation upon us to see jesus at the right hand of the father far above all circumstances far above all media reports far above all traffic on social media far above all talk among relatives far above all talk with neighbors far above all the different church leaders and the different things that are saying god i just pray that you would connect us to the throne of god and father i pray that you would release the spirit of prayer amen i thank you that you hear me god let's just wait 30 seconds teach me how to rule through intercession god i thank you lord that my weak words have great power in your presence i thank you that i'm sitting in your son in heavenly places i thank you god that my songs release your power i thank you that you do more when i say something than if i didn't thank you holy spirit father we love you in this house we thank you and god i pray right now for our brothers and sisters in afghanistan god i pray right now that you would strengthen our brothers and their sisters in afghanistan i pray right now that you would dispatch angels that would come through a door and bring food that would bring protection that would bring divine resource right now i pray strength to weak brothers and sisters right now god i pray right now that you would release supernatural prophetic encounters god i pray for ways of escape right now i pray that you would open up a door that no man can shut and that you would shut doors that no man can open god i pray right now that you would release a spirit of conviction over all of taliban god i pray that you would release a spirit of conviction on al qaeda god i pray for that you would turn souls into paul's god i pray that you would release the revelation of jesus and release the fear of god and that you would restore that jesus christ is truly the son of god i pray right now that you would remove every throat of the evil one look on the threats of your servants against your servants god i pray that you would anoint our brothers that you would release your fire upon them everybody just lift your hands because we're priests in the ruling assembly right now you're like well i don't feel it don't matter we're going to grow up into this let's rule god right now over afghanistan we plead the blood of jesus over afghanistan right now we plead the blood of jesus over afghanistan right now we say father you said the lord will send the rod of your strength out of zion right now release the rod release the scepter over afghanistan release the scepter over afghanistan and all the stands in the surrounding region god we pray for a spirit of revival to be released god a spirit of glory to be released open visitations god i pray for the atmosphere of heaven the warring angels to break in oh god save the women save the women we contend for the women save the daughters but i thank you god thank you god thank you god we thank you we bless you we honor you and we love you in jesus name and everyone said amen amen give the lord a hand bless you guys [Applause] all right i want to
