[Music] hey guys welcome back to the channel my name ises and I'm back with another video so I was working on a landscape in Unreal Engine and I was about to create my blend material but I faced this issue and I think many of you are facing the same so I have these three materials and I want to create a blend material of them so if I select the three materials and go back to quixel bridge in Unreal Engine 5 and go to this option and create this blend material it shows you this error that it doesn't support more than three material instances but we have only selected three and if you select single one or maybe two it will show you another error like this so I found a workaround for this so what you have to do is you're going to have to select the layer which you want to make the bottom layer or the base layer so I think um for that I'm going to select this one and I want this to be my base layer so I'm going to select this and uh I'm going to go to pixel bridge and then create a material blend and when you click here it will add a blend materials folder in your content drawer when you go to this folder you'll see this plan material but when you open this it will have only the same material in both the base and the middle layer as you can see now we're going to have to manually add the other two materials so first what I'm going to do is I'm just going to apply this to the landscape and now I'm going to open this and we're going to have to go back to our Mega scans and now I want this to be our middle layer so I'm going to select all these textures and drop them here so this one goes to the albo of middle lay and just assign the normal and mask to their respective slots and I'm going to go back and select the other ones and I'm going to enable these ones first then import the texture m app and just save it so to check our plan material whether it's working or not uh I'm going to go to the modeling mode and just create a shape like this just pull this up a little bit and I'm also going to assign the same material on this one so I'll just apply here and now we go to this mesh paint go to the paint section [Music] and now you can choose these channels to paint on this material so I'm going to uh use the red one first that is going to be our mle layer or mdal material so if I paint here like this then you can see that we have a very nice blend of these two material now the edges of this material are very sharp so what we are going to do is uh I'm going to open the blend material and here you'll see this blend controls so we going to work on this middle layer so I'm going to enable this and now we can change the contrast value of this to make a little bit of variation like this a little bit of the faded and dispersion effect you can play with these values and you can change the fall of a little bit and get something different so I think this looks nice so I'm going to go back and now if you paint again then you'll get the same kind of result without the annoying sharp edges you'll get a fine blend of materials like this and you can uh paint the top layer by switching to this green and paint like this and also you can go back to this uh material blend enable this top layer blend control and repeat the same thing here so I'm going to change the contrast maybe turn it down a little bit like this and now you can paint over all these areas and it's going to work just fine so I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and if you did then do let me know in the comment section and if you are new here then subscribe to the channel I'll see you in the next one thanks for watching
