hello Builders Lego Master brick and Nick here we recently had the amazing opportunity to go to Legoland New York for the Lego 2K Drive Community Day that's thanks to 2K who sponsored the trip in this video and when I was there I got to spend several hours in the garage so I could show you how to build the coolest cars as quickly as possible when the game Launches on May 19th let's get building the garage has everything you need to bring the wildest possible belts to life Brick by Brick with over a thousand unique pieces that you unlock as you play through the game along with amazing tellers stickers flares and more and you can customize vehicles for all three terrains Street off-road and water first let's take you through some of the overall basics of the garage so you can see here that I'm starting to work on my Corgi car which I'll show you a little bit more of later and to start I was just kind of exploring like how to access the different paint colors and how to change the bricks then I started to dive into the actual bricks and how they are organized and categorized but I do think for the most part people are gonna find it's pretty natural in terms of the different like kind of main categories and then subcategories that all the different parts are broken up to it does make it pretty easy to find everything you need there were a few pieces here and there that were in places I didn't expect but I do think it's something that once you spend a little bit of time with you'll have it all down packed and know exactly where to find them and speaking of just like getting used to things I do think building with a controller was a pretty impressive I have to say overall I've used the touchpad here at least on the PS5 controller to access kind of the main menu which gives you access to different set menus within that as well and that includes accessing all the pieces accessing all of the colors then accessing grouping for different parts of your build which we'll talk more about later and then access the same Cows as well and you'll see I actually chose to go about building all in one color here for me I kind of have a good idea of what my overall belt is going to look like and what colors or what parts needs change to what color so it's easier to just keep everything one color but it is great that you can actually see I just did it there too that you can select multiple pieces then change the color of them so it's really really easy to kind of go back through pick out the different pieces of your bottle that you'd like to be a different color and easily switch those up and when it comes to controls overall um the controller does a really good job of just giving you the flexibility to customize things you need like the d-pad allows you to rotate or change scale and we actually did that for our decals here which we had to use to make a little bit of an eye tile as I don't think I had any of the cool like decal or printed pieces unlocked yet but it's really really great that I can find kind of a unique way and creative way to make that happen so that was really really awesome and one of the other great things to know about is of course like modifiers so for example for the arms on the cart here I wanted them on a little bit of an angle so they kind of had a little bit more of an aggressive look and that worked out really really well and there's your Basics let's get into more detail of each of the individual components of the garage that you're going to need to know when you first hop into the garage you're going to see that you have a couple of different options to choose from that's going to primarily start with what type of vehicle you want to build whether that's Street off-road or water then once you decide what kind of build you want to do you actually have a couple of different options of body and I'm sure there's probably more that might be unlocked as you play through the game as well so you can kind of just go with with everyone you think is going to fit your builds best um keep in mind that you can also choose different kinds of you know stats for the vehicle a little bit later but let's really get into this building system so to start you'll see there's kind of the subcategories which are controlled with the top triggers L1 and R1 and then within those categories there are many detail categories like different types of slopes different types of snot breaks different types of ball joints you also have Technic Parts um and then you have some more like detailed accessory pieces that you can kind of comb through as well lots of specific vehicle accessories like windshields steering wheels seats and then the flares are cool because they actually sort of get activated while you're playing the game so you can see there's sort of have different little visual effects on them otherwise they'll just sort of get a default one if you don't apply one to the car yourself you can also have favorite bricks which is great for quick access and access your minifigure and then you can you can of course dive into the paints and there are four different types of paints there are flat paints which give you more of your classic Lego colors then you have clear bricks in a variety of different colors metallics as well which are super cool and then the glowing bricks look extra extra unique and are really really cool to play with then you've got your grouping and what that'll basically allows you to do is select a bunch of different pieces assign them to a group and then you can move that whole group as one piece which is really handy um though you can't build an empty space which is a little lame then you have options for things like tires you've got different types of horn sounds you can also explore different engine sounds for your car and those can apply to different types of vehicles then this is where you actually have your stats and this is some of you kind of unlock and earn as you play throughout the game so keep in mind there will be more options for that as you continue to work through the game and get access to better and better cars and then when you get into the actual building and the controls on how to do that you can see you can move around the bricks with kind of the joystick then rotate them and angle them with the d-pad then there are lots of different modifiers they can play with like High hiding the brick you can of course do other things like changing the colors with the Press of a button obviously you can easily pull the menu at any time to grab other buttons as well one of the more important modifiers of course is allowing you to rotate the bricks so once you have a brick attached down which can sometimes be a little finicky but it I find you can always figure out that angle you can press and hold L1 and that gives you access to different modifiers you can choose which ones you need and then you'll be able to control it like rotating the brick at a particular degree and you can even do it in different types of steps if you switch between some of the options there so I can do like 90 degree rotations for example you have a really really good flexibility with how you can control those brakes which is super duper handy to be able to do um and then again getting back to paint you can kind of select all with a quick press of one of the shortcut buttons on the d-pad and then you can see that color affects the entire vehicle including the body only thinking that it doesn't change is the rims but you can see those glowing colors are quite crazy and vibrant you can really really really get creative with it so that's our detail overview of the garage for you a couple of other important features to look out for include that each build has a parts limitation so make sure you don't run out of pieces you can filter out the pieces in the different categories and you can use your triggers for undo and redo for any mistakes that you might make along the way you're gonna see here that I've built quite a few awesome creations that hopefully will act as inspiration for you guys to get out there and build some amazing creations of your own and otherwise I look forward to seeing you in 2K drive very very soon I think you're gonna have so much fun racing building and smashing those builds so we'll see you soon happy building out there [Music]
