and we're back where they're put tutorial series well abbreviated tutorial series I'm not going into too much detail here on all of these we're just trying to get through the main sticking points that get people like food oxygen water carbon dioxide that kind of thing at the moment we are collecting a big tank of polluted water this polluted water we're going to use to feed our oxygen supply when we get our electrolyzers up and running and it's just nice to get that going now there is a lot of polluted water you know what there's even more over there once second while I I want to make that letter out of sedimentary rock it's nearby otherwise these really long ladder runs you end up having to run all the way down here to get some say sandstone and bring it all the way up try to make your ladders out of the local material if you can it just speeds things along for example I find some sandstorm their mind did it so that we could quickly build this ladder system yeah next up today what do we do it well first up we are going to expand our ranching supplies we want lots and lots of hatches they just they simplify food needs and they give us lots of coal which is great for power and it reminds me we also want another duplicate right now now this brings us to an interesting choice we've got two good ones here the decorating one would be nice we could turn them into an artist this one would also be nice we could turn them into a machinist and this one would also be nice because we could turn them into a variety of things but I'd probably go with one of these two and small bladder have been informed doesn't actually have a negative anymore it's supposed to increase their mean they go to the bathroom twice a day but it last it was tested it seems it's bugged and it only increases their bladder by two percent a cycle so it's it's tiny um yeah but I think we'll take the creative one and we'll turn this person into an artist there we go very aptly called artist next thing you do you have to do is make sure they get a bed yep and house it got a dining table perfect right now we have to set their priorities well they will eventually end up doing art for the time being we're just going to put them on helping out around the base currently we have lots of tasks that need doing and I've noticed some deodorizers are not getting sucked up in time that's because you only have one person to go around and do that it'll be better off if we got two on board that way we can get thing get everything stocked up we have two dedicated bill diggers and they're getting most of our construction done in a timely fashion though I may have get up slightly too much at the moment well all that is going on a quick look over here at our hatches we will see we're up to seven hatches in here and - in here with all of those five up there that will bring this up to seven as well and then I'm going to stop growing any more hatches I've turned off two continuous on them the reason being we just want to fill this up and use them to make stone hatchets see that stone hatchling egg right there all of these hatches are slowly but surely turning into stone hatches the reason being every time they eat that sedimentary rock your stone hatch lay egg chances go up and up and up but we need somewhere to incubate them so stone hatch eggs continuous you were going to be incubating them forever we will start switching these over as well at the same time in here you'll notice these are all still happy and groomed but that's because if oh let me explain this again ah perfect a second egg has just been laid and if you'll notice here these hatches are now cramped because they're cramp the reproduction rate has gone down the reason for this is you can only have eight critters in a room this size it's to do with the requirements of the hatches let going into too much detail that's why I limit this to seven just so it gives time for my dupes to get the eggs out of there just to cut down on the overcrowding that happens that reduces egg production which can be problematic but now that all of these are done we are going to start cracking the excess eggs which includes a sage hatch egg while the odds of laying one of those pretty slow at slim actually wait no no she'll have some decent chances never mind they must have eaten something they shouldn't have that brings us to the egg hatch egg cracker we are going to queue up Aisling eggs forever and we're going to queue up Sage hatch eggs forever stone hatch eggs we will leave as the air for now what this should mean is all the stone at all the non stone hatch eggs will immediately get dumped over here and cracked and then we will cook them up in here well we can't keep it up until we've discovered cracked eggs that could take some time in traditional fashion I completely messed up I can't on the skills front smarty pants here was supposed to turn into my cook but I forgot to get them into grilling I did that with dog's body before I still scrub them yeah I always keep making this mistake so I can't operate the grill just yet which means I can't make the omelets that we were going to make however we still have food it's fine it's not like it's the end of the world but I'm going to have to do something to fix that in the meantime we're going to cover a couple of the things that are important one is it takes once we start with these eggs here when cracking them problem list we need about oh we need about two point two point two hatches to provide enough eggs to feed one duplicate then when we switch over to meat which we are going to do we're going to need about 1.5 hatches I have a lot of firms ready to go or a lot of ranches ready to go this just means I can expand rather rapidly if I need to which yeah this is an interesting one I don't need another decorator I've already got one of those biohazardous nice I'll try was long okay they can actually do as a second rancher yeah so beasty here will be our second Rancher and I will help cut down and the lost work around is a labor at the moment I have a lot of bill commands to queued up because I want to demolish this whole slime pile do you need to know I'm just going to do this in the background so we slow down just a little bit while we wait for our hatches to catch up and on the egg cracking front here's the thing we should do all of these should be set to six all of your incubators we want these filled as quickly as possible so you're going to set all of your incubators to six then you're going to set your egg cracker to five and then you can set stone hatches to be correct forever as well this way okay we're not going to get almost for very long but if you do want to stay on omelettes for a while all you have to do is make sure your incubators are one higher than your egg cracker that way if the duplicants do go to pick up the egg they'll put them into the incubators first if there's no space in incubators then they go to the egg cracker and then just remember that one incubator is worth five hatches in your farm so every unpowered incubator can support five hatches during its life cycle I finally got that skill point for our two piers so now they can cook us cook stuff up we've got omelettes queued up fried mushrooms cooked up cook fish barbeque frost buns no believe the frost buns editors however I want to go into consumables here and what I want to do is start restricting things I don't want my duplicates ever eating raw meat it's much better if that's cooked into barbecue I don't want them eating raw mushrooms that's much better if it's cooked up and I don't want them eating packing fill it's it's much better wait uncooked you know I want it cooked up that's just a good thing to do is just untick all the things you don't want them to eat uncooked nice way to save on calories and that should allow us to get our our calories of pure reasonable amount because right now we're a little bit behind I do want to go up to eight dupes I think eight dupes would be reasonable for this playthrough though at the moment we're still we're not depending entirely on meal ice anymore we're getting a lot of our calories from our hatches you may want to diversify your food sources early on and in fact I think we'll do a quick demonstration of some of the foods as you can use if you really do want to diversify this is what we call diversification well you could also go entirely into mush mat mushrooms dust caps very very handy to use very cheap very efficient let's check this one over here let's say these things take about four kilos of slime per cycle and 7.5 cycles they drop off their mushrooms they're quite calorie dense they're useful they're cheap they're easy to get and slime really has no other purpose all we've done here is this is a very common trick you put a storage bin in a layer of water I just put in 200 kilos of water and there you only need about four kilos to stop or two kilos yeah two kilos to stop the slime off-gassing buddy well I just went to the tire and this is restoring our slime this is our highest priority storage container for slime @h everything else is set to seven so all our slime gets dumped in here and our dupes will pick up the sign from there and dump it into the mushrooms and the mushrooms do need to be kept in a carbon dioxide environment so you do need to make sure they're at the bottom of your base or you do need to make sure you make a bucket to contain the carbon dioxide that's a good way to diversify your food crops next up we'll do a quick demonstration of one of my other favorites before I do that we do have another duplicate choice I should probably get on that it has been an odd run of dupes we haven't got anything too crazy but it's just at bottom the stomachs are a no-no that doubles the amount of food they eat or 50% or it's basically more food cost oh no not worth it this one has high science plus quick learner they've got 10 science which will increase their skill level in so they'll be weak at the start but they will get better fast personally not my preferred choice I'd prefer something a little specialized or even a plus 7 to ranching would be great around now but if you can usually hold off on those until your later duplicate choices ranching is very powerful and having some good ranchers would also be useful the other alternative food source is Bristol blossoms they come with bonuses and negatives they're really more of a short-term staple I like to use them in between hatches and well when you start up your hatches you're not going to get a lot of food at ISM so in the interim are you like to throw in some some of these they're fast they're quick to throw together all they require is water and light and you're done the great thing about them is they need to be harvested once every 6 cycles they only require water which means your dupes don't have to interact with them the only time they interact with them is when they harvest them and you're done so they're a very low labour cost just they do cost water which means I would only use them for a short period of time because they will eat into your water supply and oh you also want to make sure you don't actually accidentally eat them raw which yeah we don't have the option yet they won't show up up here but until you harvest your first batch so keep an eye out from that mother was your dupes might assert eating the mother role quickly lucky find up here is this little area we've at the top of this ladder we found a door you have to submit your bio scan and we have found a vending machine which we're going to rummage through and also inspect at the same time that should give us some food so they rummaged through the Machine and it pops a new chin pear 800 calories not a lot but it will keep one duplicant fed for a little bit and next tip we've also got one over here but first we are going to get all that water don't let that slide that into our tank our water tank is pretty juicy then we're going to demolish the rest this area oh this is a natural gas geyser when you're tucking into these things you need to have level three digging otherwise you can't dig through the Obsidian so it's always a good idea say has San here would immediately for super hard digging and we're getting to a point now where they need seven morale once we get them improve carrying the red nine morale I like to leave them here nine morale is about the most I'm going to put anyone into because 12 is going to be a bet your average at this point until you gets better food and we don't have better stable food right now people are still eating some of the weaker stuff so try not to get their morale requirements above nine keep know about here hold off on giving anyone any more skill points until you have a better source of food for their morale or you've invested into decor or some other morale shaping buildings if you want and you really do want to invest skill points you can throw down showers I just I find them not a great use of your time now that all this has been done it's time to excavate it out I want to demolish this for this lime well this lime will help us with a few things but yeah let's just do something like that and all of that will fall down here into the water where it can't off gasps nice little trick and that's how you demolish this lime buy them from the bottom just a good way to demonstrate how to get it all of that slime down here it'll also be useful for if you want to do a lot of mushrooms and well we did get all the water out of us also we'll get a lot of gold amalgam which will be very useful but nevertheless we've got all of that done time to get oxygen supplies I've been running we want a good oxygen supply however that will sort of kill off all our plants so yeah let's do that now and I'll show you how to do to two different ways a quick thing has come up before we get into that our first stone hatchling hatched so this is how we get them from there into our ranches this is going to be our three stone house ranches all we do is we set this to stone hatchlings once it's set to stone hatchlings we set that drop-off you're ready pretty high I'm going to go with seven I want them dropped off quickly all of them are now going to get dropped off in there that means if you plug in Taveras will come along they'll pick it up and I'll drop it off in one of the appropriate ranches it kind of depends on where they are when they get the mission though if they're down here when they decide to do it they'll pick it up and put it in the closest one to them that's one down and yeah I've got to be feeling these guys again Oh igneous rock that was right because they're stone hatches we can feed them much different a completely different diet and the best thing we can feed them is igneous rock because it's so plentiful in common while that's going on I forgot a bit putting in some automation over here we do that we do have the research done I've done most of the basic research you need for just about everything well all of the research stuff anyway and some of the automation stuff so what we're going to do that do is use that to sort out our food storage permanently first up though we need someone who can do mechatronics engineer afterwards that I mean if we get shipping here and we grab an auto sweeper and try and place it down oh I don't know say Sumeria but yeah there yeah put a div there you notice it comes up with a hat cullinan luck lacks mechatronics engineering skill for that we're going to need someone who has five points and I'm looking at dogs buddy here again they're going to need improved carrying improved tinkering all the way up to mechatronics engineer all dudes will it are my first four duplicants they're the only ones and I kind of still want my builder diggers my researcher is sort of important and that leaves only dog's body to get skill scrubbed again so back into the skill skipper with you dogs bodies finished being scrubbed that means we can pop in here and we can immediately get them all of these you need all five of these all five of these are the same products and I'm around cost of nine yeah that's one of the reasons why I go with this nine morale cost business now over here first we're gonna do is we're gonna stick in a shipping super sweeper this sweepers job is to sweep up the ingredients that are down here now you'll notice I've put in this block here that block serves a purpose it's to stop the sweeper from accessing this corner over here we only wanted able to access the test and here this is for our raw ingredients is going to go then we're going to put in a second sweeper like notice the reach on the sweeper we're going to put in a second sweeper here sorry another super a conveyor loader so this conveyer loader here is we're going to dump off all our completed food so I computed food will come across here and get dumped down into this corner alright this is almost done the shipping rails are in place we've powered the whole system as well then we just get this and we select edible and I've selected all of these ingredients then we're just going to put this down to one this is what contains you know muck Rouge meal ice fried mushrooms all of our foods effectively what happen is this conveyer loader should pick it up or this conveyer auto sleep we should pick it up out of here jumping into the conveyor loader and let's slow down a little bit so it's gonna jump across all the foods all those foods will go across this rail let's speed it up a tiny bit and then it will get dropped over here so all of our muck routes and all of our cooked foods that we want her to pick and Steve's BBQ all of that stuff it's all that I ended up over in that corner a corner that that sweeper can't reach that's all the foods going to go all that should be left behind here is okay some stuff we don't care about some meal less nutrient Paris things like that but we're going to set this to contain all of our cooking ingredients so we unselect all the things we don't want to go in in there anymore instead want to stockpile over there this is just a handy way to set up infinite food storage quite early and it just requires a little bit of a retrofit of our currently built system I find this really handy way of moving into the mid-game yeah all of that is done we've got a full load of eggs going up there and we're slowly slowly slowly but surely grinding up these hatches I've turned off the Bristol blossoms and just left the mushrooms on that should provide is more than enough calories to keep us going into the later stages of this game one other additional minor change I have found a use for pickles meal currently as it stands we have to carry the meal lights from over here and dump it into boxes but we can turn it into pickled meal on a grill and that will get dumped into the conveyer loader so we set the conveyer loader up to hold a pickled meal that will get dumped over in the corner there it just means that this ration box isn't constantly full of meal lights which will just keep going up and up and up if you keep having enough calories for everything else now it just ends up over there and we can stockpile even more calories than before next up we're going to automate the ranch's the collection of eggs and all that we want to start turning them all into barbecue barbecue is just a more efficient way of doing things so this is what it looks like when we've automated it and we have a conveyer loader in here they can reach the whole area and decide what we're going to do is tell it to pick up all of the critter eggs once that's selected there we're just going to hit copy and then we're just going to do the entire area there what this means is all of these those eggs will get picked up immediately dumped onto the conveyor load or they'll get sent up here and dumped into this evolution chamber all the eggs will sit in there the new hatch they'll drown they'll turn into meat and we'll put in some more automation to move down to our kitchens but not just yet for what we got to do now turn off the egg cracker we don't need this anymore so we can stop cracking sage hatches stone hatches and hatchling eggs we're done there is a little bit of a problem though for the time being we're not going to get any more omelets to make so we're not going to see any more omelets and it'll be 20 cycles before these first set of eggs hatches so for the next 20 cycles we're not going to be getting any calories from omelets this is why it's sometimes I need to either have a stockpile of food or a secondary food source just did just to tide you over until we get to this there we have this second set about a mission completed well often say Automation just a way to cut down on duplicate labor any meter to any meeting evolves from here we'll get picked up by Yoda sweeper will dump it across onto this conveyor loader just meat that will get sent down here and dropped off right down here below work all the sweeper you don't have to set this up above it you can put this pretty much anywhere you can run conveyor rails as far as you like as long as you've got the metal but that will load the meat straight up into the electric grill and the electric grill will churn you're said barbecue barbecue is going to become our main source of food with this many ranches that was always the plan with all of that a Automation done it uses - maybe automate the power supply as well so I've put down a storage bin here for coal we've put in 20 tons of it and we've put an auto sweeper here just to make sure that these coal generators stay topped up all of this is just cutting down on labor we don't have to carry the eggs from here to there we don't have to carry the meat from there to there that cook just stands there meat gets fed into the barbecue or the grill automatically and they just have to cook we're just trying to cut down on all the actual manual labor needed to be done another reason we don't use the compost all of this stuff is just try to automate as much as possible so it just cuts down on duplicate interaction now all of that done it's time to get into oxygen we should have switched over to what electrolyzer is a while back it's just I have been very lazy I get distracted quite easily there are two main ways to deal with oxygen one is to worry about the heat it's going to produce when we start hooking up electrolyzers once you hook up an electrolyzer the oxygen comes out at 70 C and if you just dump that straight into your base it's going to cause problems on because your food crops will start to stifle for example to me unless they are stifles at 30 and the mushrooms stifle at 35 you could of course but in localized cooling solutions so that usually requires plastic complications or you could go with stone hatches or regular hatches who can survive up to 70 C anyway won't care about the temperature in the slightest and your duplicates will be quite fine as well it will take I don't know the amount of time it would take before the the 70 C would heat up everything to the point where it would become an issue I'm not sure it can happen um yeah and yeah we are but to come just in case you are worried about temperature or you have not switched over to stone hatch is a good thing to do is take at the temperature overlay and start finding cold zones there's one up here but it's really far away there's one over there also far away closest one I could find was down here I mean that it looks like it's got an anti entropy nullifier as well quick way to tell for sure yep there's the little telltale pipe from nineteen German law fair so we can demonstrate multiple things at the same time while I was in the middle of doing this I noticed a couple of things back at the base which is very Newton like me but uh we have a shine bug here is interrupting Hasan sleep they're causing like to get in there and light is bad for duplicants rest so quick attack should take care of that or maybe I should just corralled them all the way nevermind that will hopefully get rid of the problem shine bugs are fine and all that but I haven't found a good use for them yet bar decor and decor I can usually get two other men that means second thing we found is we've got the smooth hatchling egg they can be used to refine metal we don't really care usually for Metro finders it's faster just to use the refinement a metal refiner an actual metal refinement station so we'll just copy all of those two there it can evolve along with the rest of them and there we go boom goes across that straight up here and all of them gets dumped in there along with all the rest of the examinee EXA go down there now Lots we've got lots of eggs that's going to be an awful lot of meat when they eventually pop so now we're going to dig into this cold biome the reason being we want to use the coal that's in here to cool down or oxygen that we're about to make and we've got ourselves a nice little area here where we can throw in our oxygen production facility when dealing with areas where you want to do a bit of sweeping you don't want to have a big centralized storage area backage base it's just too much travel so all I do is I set up bins locally and I just when I want to do a sweep I set them all to sweep only everything is available and then I just set up a big sweep command down here so we are going to sweep up all the junk that's around here and it should all get dumped into these storage bins it's just faster simpler easier otherwise you could spend literally cycles doing discharge or if you're bringing it back to a centralized area the seer is going to be the start of our electrolyzer system this is just going to produce one kilo of an oxygen enough to feed or keep ten and duplicants breathing there's bigger ones that I normally use now but this is just a good starter wooden if you get used to this one going up to scaling up is better I'll put a link in the top right to a video on these so you can see all the different variants there this is just one of my preferred ones for a smaller style base this is almost finished we've got a lot of the bits and pieces in place however they're piping goes all the way back let's see the piping goes back but I haven't finished that up here the reason being I want to always also stick in the Atmos abducts Atmos who talks are at the next logical step once you get oxygen production up and running from an electrolyzer setup you're dumping it into gas pump cup pumps which is putting it into a gas pipe which means it's usually just a natural progression to wine I just dumped it into at mizzou ducts and start ourselves expanding at the same time I threw in a second power grid reason being our power needs are getting a little bit larger we're going to be running some stuff down here we had to run an exosuit Forge I just wanted to slip the grid so now all of the left-hand side of my base is on one grid and the right-hand side is on another however there will probably be it still a little bit too much on one side there's 2.7 yeah 2.7 kilowatts on one side and 2.16 on the other potentially though an all furnace these auto sweepers and these conveyor loaders have minimal power draw and even neither this is up and running let's go grab ourselves some add masu the choices are iron or copper I think I'm going to just save the copper on the Terra map you do you do Lee yeah you do usually end up with an awful lot of iron and I chord this out here to get our hands on some so we're just gonna smash up some iron and use that to make our Atlas it's instead copper I usually like to hold on to because it's only available in your starter biome and it does have a few minor uses one is it's probably the best radiant gas pipe you're going to get until you start getting into steel or there's no aluminum on this map so steel and as thermal conductivity is terrible but it's still slightly better than iron ore and slightly better than where is it gold amalgam one thing to note about making these at Masoud you are going to need reed fiber where is it yeah 71 units of reed fiber is what we have on hand that may be difficult for some people if you don't realize a few things one this is read fiber it comes from thimble read i've been dumping all my toilet water in there so i've got a decent stuff but a thimble we just sitting around here at the same time anything below read i've encountered in the swamp areas or the slime biomes I've left it alive so you'll see there's Tim berry there thimble read there and if I've done it right yep I've said it to auto harvest so honey I find I usually set up an auto harvest on them so I can take advantage of them there's nothing over there I forgot I explored this area as well I really need to rummage to these let's rummage through these and see what we find shall we the ribs can find many interesting things here we've got a snazzy suit and a couple of cool that's cool vest I still have not fun to use for but for the snazzy suits we can give that to where's our researcher Krang come here you can grab that hey so this is almost done we'll soon have our well we'll start producing our EXO suits and we're gonna start pumping out our oxygen just about now so to kick-start this whole system is going to power itself but to kick-start we're going to put in our own power generators power in place I think we are ready to go now we will hook up the power here and one thing to note this is all one self-contained power grid it's not connected up to anything there's a water filter or water sieve here hooked up to a water pump down here that is pumping of polluted water that will go into the sieve get save turned into clean water go around here there's radiant pipes to make sure it's nice and cool you know what let's just hook it up and let it go and at the same time you had just guess what's gonna come in the same water will go through here and there is radiant liquid pipes here so the water will jump off some of its chill even if it's 30 40 degrees the oxygen is gonna be coming out at 7 so a little bit of preach he'll never hurt anyone then after that the hydrogen is gonna get sucked at the top and see how we are doing down there yeah there we go let's speed this up no oh yeah come on seriously no one's no one's got around to bring that sound yet we know it's got to send one moment right figured out the problem I had blobski wrong pipe into the wrong section right so we'll just switch that around and we should be good to go cold water goes through gets into the electrolyzers one important thing to note here I have these gas pumps set to just pump straight that we don't care it's just gonna head out we're not even trying to stop it going in your old is gonna be some time sir we're to end up with a few minor breakages in things because we're gonna end up with hydrogen coming out the bottom heart shouldn't ya spring up the gas overlay yes we're gonna end up with a little bit of hydrogen getting in the bottom and going out where it shouldn't and a little bit oxygen going at the top where it shouldn't but it will get dumped into this tank and the oxygen line will be mostly clean so that's just a push this forward a bit until dis stabilizes that was pretty quick it's stabilized boom so from now on the only thing coming at the top is going to be hydrogen which is perfect because we are going to deconstruct that come on we'll get some one lungs do that in a second right now do that bridge is deconstructed all the hydrogen can go all the way over here to that hydrogen generator that hydrogen generator is going to charge up this battery oh I need to change this don't I this needs to be 90 60 don't that means that will charge up the hydrogen generator that's going to dump power onto the wire see power here and now that that's mostly fully charged wait that's enough of a church we have effectively a backlog of hydrogen here which is powering that hydrogen generator that hydrogen generator is then hooked in via that transformer right there to power all of this and when I say all of this I mean it powers all the pumps it powers the water filtration it powers the liquid pump down here that's pumping up the water everything is charging off that so all we're going to do now is we are going to construct those two disconnecting those from this little ghetto coal generator set if we have down here boom the whole thing is now self-sustaining this is the joy this is why you don't use gas filters if you throw in gas filters in here it will consume more power and you won't be able to make this entire thing self sustained then what we do is we break that up there and we put that up there they're just some insulated tiles there's a few little things going on here so let's cover them briefly these things are made out of gold amalgam the reason being if it gets too hot in here it goes above 75 see these could get damaged but we like gold amalgam because that won't happen we've made this power transformer out of also gold amalgam soared over 225 batteries made out of gold hydrogen generator called amalgam gas reservoir made out of gold amalgam all right yeah golden so all of these things can only overheat it 125 so this hydrogen that's sitting in the pipe it's 40 C now but as the game goes on and this has been run for long or longer the hydrogen coming out here is gonna be about 70 C but it will always be 70 C coming out of these max well if I put in hotter water it could but there's no what happens as this hydrogen is going to come out here it will flow through here through these radiant pipes you could use grammage you could get away with granite if you wanted but I used radiant ones and even if it gets to 110 degrees in here 120 degrees that hydrogen will keep soaking up these and then dump itself into the hydrogen generator where it is destroyed so this entire thing self-contained self-regulating self temperature in Celsius Towton you're done this is the joy of the self powered oxygen makers and that concluded the oxygen is coming in here then it goes to some radiant pipes and by the time it's leaving here that oxygen is minus 15 I put a little brick there because this stuff is gonna start melting after a while I also put in some temperature shift plates to help draw chill out of the local ice and dump it into the atmosphere getting gas to exchange heat or temperature with Isis a little tricky oh yes I have Idol loops indeed appalls it but that means all of that gas comes out of there at a nice cool temperature which if you're running crops is important we're not but I thought I'd demonstrate exactly how to do that another cool thing is this a CHP NOLA fire runs on hydrogen you dump hydrogen into it it will provide cooling you can run about 2 kilos of oxygen by one of these and it will cool them all down to about 10-15 degrees something like that 3 kilos it will struggle 3 kilos it'll probably end up with the oxygen coming about 40 C or so but that means you can just divert some of this hydrogen down here and boom a one last thing you do need to have an overflow for this eventually that hydrogen this is never going to consume as much hydrogen as produces so if you let that back up into the system the whole thing will break down you need an overflow so this is going to be my overflow when that tank fills up and we're going to put some hydrogen storage and we'll have a hydrogen overflow system we put in that's covered in more detail in other tutorials but yeah now we have oxygen flowing into our atmosphere ducts with oxygen going into our homes two ducts we are pretty much close to getting into mid-game once we get a atmosphere talks up and running we can start digging out here demolishing whole chunks of the map for resources and goes straight down to the oil bottom so we can start getting into steel and other mid-game tech now there's a couple of things I want to cover here before we go on but before I do that yeah these hatches are not drowning even though they're in 800 kilos of water so I'm going to have to bring in more liquid just a one thing to note oh my god they're taking a nap in 900 kilos of water wait are they are they yes now they're finally doing you know what we will put in we know we're yeah a little bit more watery to put it a little bit more water so this doesn't happen again as you can see now it's all turning into meat and I meet you get dumped across here and sent at well unless the the pots and the tubes get there first wait why is that not going in I thought I'd set you up to put meat in there yeah I just realized I had a block in the way yeah all of the meat has never been chucked onto the rail gone down here and drop down where it's ready to be a well cooked up perfect whole system fully functional but this we have effectively hit mid-game we have got access to ACMA suits and we can now start scaling up our duplicants a little bit beyond the nine morale the reason we can go beyond nine morale is now we're getting the since these hatches have started coming online and we're getting meat out of them we've got enough barbecue that we can switch everyone over to barbecue we're good you get rid of all of those all gone all gone all gone all gone well we're going to leave is barbecue now there's method to this madness you know what we'll leave the the spicy tofu as well that's fine the reason for this is we want to ensure every single duplicant has the exact same morale once you start scaling people up it starts becoming really confusing who you've got on what food and all that now you can go around and make sure that your say your dog's body was never going to believe in the base and it's very low-skilled Morel requirements is only easing pickled Muller whatever you want you can set them to lower things what I'm going to do is set everyone to be able to excess BBQ now when I go into the skill screen I know exactly how much morels are going to get everyone who is eating barbecue is going to have 20 morale a consistent 20 or is it smartypants here let's do smartypants first as you'll see they have great good meal which is barbecue plus eight great whole plus six for shift breaks is plus three washroom duplicate in barracks and minus one for last cycles two quarters okay giving them a morale of twenty why do some of the others have different morale values well it's to do with their likes for example this person has a son has a liking and higher digging so that's going to give them a plus one morale for each one of those was plus three morale total bringing them up to twenty three and we will then to ashcan here and they've got how are they got twenty-four one sang it know their last cycles decor was actually just poor well that gave him an extra plus one more else so the twenty four is if they don't they spend their time in horrible places for the whole day and this one appears to have eaten a meal that give has given them plus 12 dogs buddy has no taste they're one of those dupes that have poor tastes or they get a plus one for all the foods these and it's not a plus one morale for the foods the food has one quality level higher so instead of getting +8 from barbecued they're getting plus 12 it's actually quite a useful start to have damn any yet this just means that everyone's going to have 20 more L so I can start doing things like this exosuit wearing exosuit wearing and we still have an 8 morale buffer now I will probably spend I would go up as high as about 16 would be the most I would ever go with this particular set of morale the reason being if you have +4 morale or so it gives them a bonus to their stress relief one second let's grab someone here you'll notice down there in the bottom right you can see stress change 4 cycle is minus 20 and high morale is another minus 20 so having higher morale than they need gives them a minus 22 their stress if you try and put them over their morale yeah they stress that a lot faster now everyone but beasty and smart cookie have access to exosuits the only reason those two don't is well they don't have the skills yet next skill point I'll put them boat into exosuit training but in the meantime we can just set the door permissions so that they can't get out and that gets you all the way to mid-game you now have the ability to leave your base and we're going to wall this whole thing it leave the eve of your base and go down and exploit the oil boil and effectively demolish this entire map and when I say to Marsh all of the Cygnus Rock here isn't have food for your hatches there for food for your dupes all of this polluted water out here can be immediately just dumped over into some sort of pool and fed into your lecture desert to provide oxygen all of this clean water same thing that salt water that can all be saved or desalinated and turned into clean water to be turned into oxygen this entire map is just nothing but food and oxygen for your dupes even the sedimentary rock oh one scrap of the mineral overlay right minerals you can see all that blue sedimentary rock you can feed that to your hatches all the was it no not the red the red fossil we can use for something else this sort of black stuff that's granite all that black material can also be fed to your hatches and it's very hard to see with that gray igneous rock all of that igneous rock did you find her in the map there's tons of it all over the place that can all be fed to your hatchets all the liquids all the liquids you can see around here all the blue the white the bran all of that that can all be fed into your electrode as you set up on either a desalinator or Watersafe what are the other and you're done all of the ice that you can find all around the map that can all be melted and that can also be fed into your electrolyzers you were never set up for a very long time additionally if you want to expand at this point and take on more duplicates you totally could the general theme from here though is I would sort of wall in this side of my base take all that material tape inside my base end wall that in across the top probably all the way around here sort of okay this is going to be very rough but something like this I would probably do something like that wall that in there and then wallet underside also and this would sort of give me a sealed in base I would even just I would only leave access in here because we want to get that water safe keep that waters have tucked up because it keeps our oxygen going you could even move that water safe closer to your base and wallet in this is all self-sustained you don't have to maintain it at all then it's run out here and demolish everything a couple of final notes that I think are pretty important when it came to making this it took me 20 cycles to construct this even with all my dupes on it and this can be a huge sticking point for a lot of people when you get to this point where you're building a decent distance away from your base because this is a decent distance away from my base my tips have to run all the way down here and we don't have plastic or any high-speed movement and their athletics it's not Mac's dead they don't get to build nearly as much as they should you need to get your priorities straight um okay you need to have your priorities really well done so you've got dedicated builders and diggers otherwise it'll mess up I'll put it a link to a tutorial up in the top right as well that covers that because this was one of the first things that killed me was I was trying to build one of these electrolyzers and it was taking so long because my tips kept running back and forth I couldn't get it finished before I ran out of algae at the moment we've got plenty in fact we can go around and start demolishing these money but call them oxygen diffusers when it comes to distributing oxygen at your base for this I just like to be sucking out to the side you're going to have places where that are going to start running low on oxygen when you do just run off a pipe my advice run them off the backup winter it's backed up and then say you can have a pipe out there and then throw down a gas vent at the end of it you want to do things like that when you start running low on oxygen in certain areas or when you start seeing building build a buildup of carbon dioxide in areas where there shouldn't finally one last last last last thing and the hydrogen is finally backed up in the tank it overflowed along here and then there'll be a later we just build a little siphon off here to go down to this and the entropy nullifier I said I'd cover this and I had forgot so if the temperature in here goes above minus 20 that will activate that it'll shut off and it will allow hydrogen to go in there and they will start sealing down this area boom that means we can keep our oxygen as cool as we want for as long as you want it's not perfect this is a very rough way of doing it you'd also put a door under it to turn it on and off which is more efficient this way we're doing it we're going to have some excess hydrogen here and it's going to go colder than the minus 20 so we'll just leave that at say minus 10 save game file is attached if you want to play around with it today in the linked in the description I'll also put a link to a bunch of tutorials in there and I'll go back and redo well I'll do up the descriptions of the other two of this in this series just so that it's all there and this should give you a good way of getting all the way from early game to mid game
