so guys somebody sent this in and I opened it up and I realized it wasn't for me which is awesome because they will appreciate it so they don't know what it is guys [Music] so it says hi faster problems figured the pumpers needed to track toy from Andrew Reeves very cool Andrew so look Norman he absolutely loves his babies so stuffed animals like this favorite thing in the world it's really really cute you sit there and just like nama and fall asleep like laying there it's just in his total Zen zone he's got a little baby to fall asleep ugh the other guys they just tear stuff up and you know they have fun with whatever this is a pretty awesome toy and it's inspire sleep good job okay ladies and gentlemen this is something to behold this is the 2.8 liter v6 of fury you had asked for a teardown video and we are here to do it this thing honestly I was blown away that it even lasted as long as it did when we got this thing from squirrel we didn't even know who's gonna run or not I mean he said that it was going to that was a pretty crazy video you guys gotta check that if you haven't seen that that was a blast this thing it was spark knocking so bad that I think all of us starting to get a little bit scared and how bad it was knocking that it could've thrown a rod round at through the side it had no fuel enrichment and we were running it on pretty much a strict out of the Bricklin and it had no other way of revving or anything like that so these guys devised a way with a methanol kit in order on how to enrich it and it worked fantastic so I mean we went through a couple of gallons of methanol because these injectors wouldn't even work but then we pretty much threw everything out it we threw it through two bottles of nitrous so this thing has been through two full bottles of nitrous it ate it all and it kept on trucking we have a list of all the other crap that we threw in it we had peanuts that we threw through it Lysol butane starter fluid a kickstart a whole one two bottles of nitrous and then probably about two gallons of methanol as the sole fueling this thing took a licking and kept on ticking the only way that Cletus could kind of beat it up was holding it on the rev limiter and it probably oil starved it got hot yes believe it or not you know you saw on the previous video that this thing still cranked up and was running I mean I couldn't believe that it was running I we thought that it was dead dead dead but right now we want to break it down and see what really was going on so the fact this thing actually still runs once it cools off it fires right up and we've seen the oil on the ground we've seen the holes on the side of the block it's gonna be interesting to tear it apart and see how many broken parts are in a motor that's still bars in rooms decent idols on it it might be running on like four cylinders and then it might have a one or two spun rod bearings I mean I've never run an engine without oil and it ran for how long without oil I mean and unlike the rev limiter - so this thing's a beast if it made a whole lot more power I mean I would say this is a likely candidate for Ruby it probably lasts a little bit longer so James after he was done with the two bottles of nitrous and then you know we were trying to blow the thing up he was frantically looking for something to spray in the motor to hurt it so he he grabbed a can of brake clean and then he grabbed the Lysol and then he grabbed track prep it was spraying it down the engine and then he just didn't know what to grab anymore there's nothing else he could possibly throw in the engine anymore so we just pulled off the Holley throttle body of this this puppy here so with all that methanol in in there I can almost guarantee there is no oil at least I mean it is dry as a bone this is probably the cleanest 300 thousand mile intake manifold ever holy crap that's so easy you know what that's one that broke then went down and sat there oh yeah that makes sense that makes sense okay all right so Oh guys this is a classic small-block Chevy style and the fact that you have the Siamese runner and you know last lecture saying is the first motor that he ever rebuilt was a 2.8 and what your Camaro 8585 Camaro cheese and this is so weird because I guess this is trying to keep velocity like that's so bizarre what a weird freakin cylinder head what about that weird too because the intake is like it uses the intake valve cover so the intakes like part of the head when the valve cover goes on oh yeah these are just a funky motor so I mean we don't work on any small-block Chevy's or anything like that anymore I mean this thing is a dinosaur and a half here but again this is kind of goes back to what we started on way back in the days like modifying small-block Chevy's and they have this big gold hump here I'm gonna say that this has got to be for poor velocity so it has quick pork velocity has good bottom and torque but it runs out of steam super early I mean this thing was making peak power at what 42 yeah 4200 rpm motor you're never going to see Pistons that clean I mean that's all that fat all these Pistons look like brand new this is crazy I mean this is like you can see the print there's like no carbon on I mean with all the methanol that this thing just ate I mean we just clean the top end like oh my gosh Dee that's so funny and that's really really clean all things said you know 300,000 miles or whatever that's incredible honestly definitely a testament of what methanol will do to the intake certainly not the most high-performance intake manifold so guys just in case you were wondering we've seen a lot of comments and stuff too were like oh why didn't you just donate that engine or donate that transmission guys they were in no way shape or form in top running order and it would have taken so much time and effort to try and get that up and running and what we're going to do with this it is far' going to exceed anything that we would have been able to do with this now look at that bad I didn't see report right now that is some very serious rod knock we heard a lot of noise going on we didn't know how bad it was so we saw some little dents in there but this is definitely some major block damage have we turned it over and seeing which rods I mean it's got to be this or this one the one with the popcorn er it is okay that makes sense so this one had lots so this is interesting them again we're kind of just plain that you look over here oh dang and then alright so we have one two three windows I mean that's a good number on it you know all the smoke that was billowing off we gotta have a like a little replay clip of that that is awesome all the smoke is just billowing out of both sides it makes sense now that we take a look in there probably see oh you can see clear through the other side look oh yeah there we go very cool that is that thing just beat the hell out of itself internally and it is still running I don't understand how it was right before we decided to pull it so right here we had all of this kind of accumulation of the popcorn and stuff so this what we're gonna say is oh yeah that definitely hit look at that you can see the is it broken or is it ready to just beat the headed yeah I haven't made I think it's go ahead in yeah the combustion chamber right there okay so this rod would have stretched or been letting go and hit the head of a whole bunch and then all right so this rod has to be broken because we have the accumulation the other pistons were moving and kind of pushing out all of that where it's not moving you just kind of accumulate it so there we go yeah cam still looks pretty good that's crazy man oh we got a little little piece of something or something that looks like a piece of piston someone's not home gosh I can't believe we only have one rod that's freaking toys bar that is amazing that rods tore apart over there and this holes up here just freakin kick stuff around and like feed itself we're going to pound the oil pan in a little bit push the flange fools I thought we'd have more than one ride messed up like with three holes yes that's crazy vanilla same knock sensor all the way up until freakin 2005 it's all you're saying is I need to go a squirrel for a rod good there we go oh dang this is some look at the goods there oh yeah so look obviously we had a rod stretch right there rod stretch the piston hit the head because you can see the impression of the the cylinder head on the piston dude these are for you give aways come on you guys buy a shirt and will include possibly some pieces of piston there jeez dude look at that man all the all the bottom side of the piston was hit with the other pieces of piss and I was like yeah it's kind of like jeans ran out of stuff to throw at it picking is not bad all things can I mean 300,000 miles or the cam looked fantastic and I mean guys we ran this thing without oil at the top of the piston you can see that groove is from yeah chamber exactly that's so cool that's cool and in Lunas so flat tappet hydraulic and the train get in to swipe clean but no real wear without oil I mean that's that's crazy squirrel what that's a speed bro pistono Jupiter Bay is a hot rap this is a modern freaking like that's not a factory piston at all that's crazy do anything about this engine just for beat up a little wooden Estrella isn't here oh dang that is pretty cool I cannot believe this at aftermarket pitches all right you guys this thing was run for a while without oil and we were purposefully trying to blow this darn thing up and it just wouldn't die I mean it's a really a testament to the engine so I think that's pretty pretty nuts really we're gonna go ahead and pull the mains a couple of mains and we're gonna pull two more connecting rods and just kind of see how bad you know the shape of the rods are and or the crank you know run with that kind of without oil pretty much on the rev limit I would expect to see some sort of crazy wear but this is kind of like engine autopsy oh yeah there we go she's going do the that doesn't look bad with the bearing hit it like you feel that with your nail could really feel like anything that's almost a little polished job rosemarys this was really not as bad as we thought well seriously man so that was amazing one rod and the piston should be good I would have expected so much worse Wow but these other guys were holding on really really strongly I mean really really impressive now we never had anything to check oil pressure or anything like that I mean there wasn't any oil pressure at the end there was no oil in it but uh honestly I'm just blown away at how hard this thing ran with no oil and just all the abuse that so exciting so we just noticed something here there's a little we're looking at it and Lascaux say that's kind of dry there was like yeah it is kind of dry and when you look at it it's much darker here versus there and then George Lake oh you didn't notice the bearing sticking out the side I was like oh yeah yeah there is bearing out there I mean it really has kind of like weld itself you know look at that what Barry thing is spin it back down unless so that is a definitively spun bearing the bearing is no longer where it was it went underneath the other bearing right there kind of welded something you can see all the different metals and stuff so yes absolutely good call oh that's a that's a nice one man that one you should keep that's a pretty cool one it's like all the welding slag is kind of spattered all over the place molten metals oh yes you could have yourself a personalised pace of spud bearing for ninety nine ninety five plus ninety nine ninety five shipping do you think rink isn't that bad though like that's handy work though that just doesn't happen by accident that took a little bit of effort I took a lot of effort actually all right this one's gonna go on display yeah I want to keep this like that that's cool that's pretty cool again but watch the rug when I rotate the crank that way ain't no buried in me okay you see that no it's not live now that like it moves before the rod moves no I'm just thinking all first oh wow yeah I see that now oh I like that dredge on it that's a doozy that's pretty cool looking really whoa careful you might do a split here that's got the nasty on it sure Oh guys look at the bearings on that oh that is super cool looking see that's that's really neat man so it's been distorted stretched and when we pulled off the connecting rod cap this was definitely twisted but this is really kind of distorted a whole lot there's a lot of play in there as last was kind of showing us we turned it it's almost like there it's like an eighth inch before it engaged so this was definitely getting ready to go this is a lot of the noise that we've kind of heard as well when you get a little bit more clearances here the rods start to get like clack a lot it is rock it was definitely round knocking very profusely all right guys this was a a blast to blow this thing up and it's been pretty fun checking out actually what happened and and kind of piecing it all together and making sense of it kinda like we're doing an autopsy you know I enjoy it but again we didn't do this because we're just sick people this is just it was fun it went out with a bang we got good things coming and guys we are gonna be taking some veterans out for rides on this but the build on this is going to require a lot of help from you guys we need some input this is a crazy weird thing because a lot of people haven't done anything exactly like this we are trying to make some big power and we don't even know which power plant we're gonna put in whether it's an LS or an LT if you got a whole bunch of stuff coming up with this thing I'm excited to see where we're gonna go with it because we don't even know exactly what we're doing but we have a good idea so guys thank you so much for watching please like subscribe share we'll see you soon god bless yes
