I have an idea so if you guys might remember this computer from one of my very first videos on this channel it's this thin clein computer that I tossed into a box of Monster Energy and called it a gaming PC however I was wondering if we put in some nicer Parts could this thing game so the key ey among you might be wondering like how are you going to fit this thing in here and that's a nice thing we're not we're going to be using this we're going to be taking out this Wi-Fi card and plugging this in it to replace it I originally wanted to do that with this laptop but uh yeah I made a misjudgment another thing we're going to be doing if I can get this thing off there we go is replacing this hunka seate Drive I mean this thing was so slow to even like load up anything so we're just going to take that uh 850 Evo I had and just toss it in here for gets and trigal I also wanted to upgrade the RAM but the guy on eBay that I bought a 16 gig kit from just completely ghosted me so we're going to just have to deal with it so let's start by replacing this this should just pop right off cool let's find that SSD so here's our SSD uh it's been the same one I've been using to Benchmark all the stuff I've been using so it has everything on it we just have to plug it in and we'll see how it is now I know there's been a few complaints of uh me using an RTX 380 and I've decided to see those and just ignore them for this video I'll try to find some nicer cards in the future to pair my stuff with it's just um the only reason I'm using this is because I just had it so um we'll try to find some more appropriate ones so we're going to be taking this 4590t and replacing it with a 4770k now this is the thing we're going to remove that's going to make all this magic happen the Wi-Fi card we're going to be taking this out and then slotten this in however we're going to have to uh do these just snap off like they do my apologies to whoever might cringe at this but uh kind of have no choice here but to just slam it down on it good enough I guess so uh it's not pretty so the way I'm going to do this is uh have that right there because I know I can jump the power supply um I'm not sure how I feel about sticking paper clips into a power supply maybe some other people got that dog in them but I don't so I guess let's just toss this in here bad start oh there we go it would be sick if you posted so we know it's getting power let's go so all we got to do from here is just get some drivers on here and uh just jump at the benchmarks starting things off of the light game Rocket League showed a significant increase in performance from before but compared to what this card in CPU can do there's a decent drop in performance and the pair aren't able to realize their potential getting 1 FPS at the worst 48 most of the time and 373 at the best cyber Punk saw huge improvements being that it actually started this time although the positives end there when running settings this combination has proven to run well with when it's configured with this machine it simply can't keep up getting 16 at the worst 26 at the best and 20 most of the time GTA 5 was the first game I tested when benchmarking this machine where it saw abysmal frame rates I dialed the settings back to see if I could squeeze some more frames at 1080p but it just wasn't having it trying once again and going down to 1024x 768 it was a little better but not by a lot I'm starting to see a trend here OverWatch 2 was decent not great but decent voting in the same scenario as I did once before on this machine and it saw 412 at its best 50 most of the time and three at the worst while one might find this unimpressive this is what the machine put out before bmen once again running at settings this combo has proven to run well on shows huge dips in performance even just driving around the computer gave a slideshow type experience with a high of 50 FPS low of zero and getting 17 most of the time but once again it's an improvement because CU it didn't start before to my surprise CS2 wasn't actually that bad but that should be the expectation with these specs not the surprise there was some slight stuttering at 1080p with high settings but if frame rate is crucial to you you can bump the settings down to help smooth them out overall not as bad as some other games but things could be way better with a proper board [Music] so very interesting results it's not like this combo doesn't work in the past I did the same exact combination of a 4770k and an RTX 380 and the performance was significantly better I think there's two factors that made the performance of this just so much worse first is the cooling when I was running anything that could put any sort of stress on the CPU it was just cooked there is no way hell that you're going to get a 4770k in that small package it's just not going to happen there's a reason why the tseries CPUs exist the second reason is this you were trying to take PCI Express bandwidth and communicate it through a USB cable while you can get something decent and get better performance would you put an RTX 3080 with it absolutely not you would be better off using something like a 750 Ti because you're going to hit the performance cap way sooner so is it worth trying to supercharge A Thin Client computer no well yes the small package might be nice it's just not worth trying to cram a graphics card into something that just was never meant to have a graphics card which to a lot of you you might be thinking well yeah thanks Captain Obvious we knew that already but as one of the YouTubers that I frequently watch once said there's no thrill in a fast PC doing things fast what is is interesting is seeing a PC do something it couldn't do before and running these games was something this computer couldn't do before this thing wrecked in the GTA Benchmark like I have never seen performance be that bad that the GTA Benchmark just screwed up so seeing this computer do something it previously couldn't kind of brought a joy to my eyes anyways I hope you guys enjoyed this video I look forward to making many more got some new things in the works if you enjoyed this video maybe like And subscribe CU it tells me that you like what you're seeing I appreciate you guys for watching and I'll see you in the next one
