Oh big fish what is up everybody fish all care today we're doing some trout fishing in the creek it is 45 degrees right now supposed to get up into the mid-60s so should be a great morning for some trout fishing the goal for today is to catch fish and give you guys some tips to help you catch more trout in the creeks and streams when spinners I'm gonna be using spinners today and hopefully we can catch them stay tuned before I get too far into this fishing session at tip giving session I want to let you guys know that these tips are tips that helped me catch more fish I'm not saying it's the only way I'm not saying it's the best way I'm saying these tips helped me catch more fish and hopefully it'll help you guys catch more fish the first thing you have to decide when you get to a new creek or stream is if you're going to fish upstream or downstream I've done it both ways I've caught fish both ways but given the choice I'll always fish upstream it tends to work better from my experience I catch more fish that way so that's the first thing you have to decide another quick tip for you guys it doesn't matter if you're flat fishing or spinner fishing if you're fishing a creek or stream for trout you want to be quiet you want to be careful you want to be sneaky because a lot of these fish are very smart especially like wild brown trout and that sort of thing so when you're moving upstream or downstream however you're moving walking just be quiet just be mindful of how much noise you're making and you know get out and walk on the bank that way you're not walking in the water and turning the water up and making a bunch of noise because it definitely will spook the fish and they won't bite there's one first fish of the day nice little rainbow trout very pretty let's see what the water temp is right now it's reading 45 that's the air temp it's been in my bag all morning let's see what the water temp is water temp is right around 52 53 degrees all right guys we're on the board see if we can get some more when I'm trial fishing a creek with spinners and I come across a really good hole like this it's got some current flowing into it it's nice and deep I like to spend at least 10 15 minutes casting all over the hole working it over really well and fishing it very thoroughly and then I'll move on there's a fish fish on baby not another rainbow just a little fella it is a little rainbow it's a brown trout I'll add just super pale I've never seen a brown trout this pale just a little fella that was fish number two we definitely have to get a bigger one when I'm fishing a hole like this I like to fish the tail of the hole then the center of the hole and then finally the head of the hole because if you go straight up and start fishing the head and you catch a fish it's gonna spook all the fish downstream in this hole so basically just fish your way upstream there's one decent one not huge there we go I believe that's number three another little brown trout well Matt last fish I caught I cast over to that log that's coming down into the water it's slower and it's deeper over there you got some real fast water right here bring in some food down into this hole those trout like to hang out in that slower moving water a little deeper water they don't have to use a bunch of energy swimming against the current they can just wait for this current right here to bring food down in here and then they can munch on whatever's coming down in here so make sure you guys target those slower deeper holes right next to some strong current another quick tip for you guys if your trout fishing you're not getting any bites you might get many hits you know there's fish in there switch up the blade color of your spinner switch it up and put a silver blade spinner on and vice versa if you're using the silver and you're not getting any bites switch it up and put a gold one sometimes that little switch up of your blade color can help you get more bites so that's actually what I'm going to do right now I'm going to go ahead and take this gold blade off and put a silver blade on it back in action got a silver blade black rooster tail spinner let's see if the silver blade does any better than the gold nothing on the silver blade let's keep working our way upstream another thing you can do besides change the color of your blade is you can change the color of your body you can use black white brown I mean they make pretty much any color that you can think of and sometimes switching up the body color of your spinner will trigger some bites there's one decent fish on baby pretty brown on the black rooster tail spinner last fish I caught cast up into the current brought it downstream I brought it by this log that's in the water anytime you see logs or sticks or anything like that in the water perfect cover for fish cast as close as you can try not to get hung up official went oh my god I think I said the hook a little too hard on this guy just a little fella that's number two out of this hole so we're doing pretty good but no big ones yet a little disappointing when you're fishing some fast current like this you basically want to match the speed of the water of the current with your reel so if it's flowing really fast you want to reel faster if it's flowing slow you can reel a little slower the goal is to keep the spinner in the middle of the water column you don't want it to be on the bottom because you'll get snagged and you don't want it to be at the top you want it to be right in the middle I'm gonna go ahead and switch back to a gold blade spinner and getting a lot of hits on this but I'm not hooking up so I think it's time to switch alright we switched back to a gold blade see if it does the trick this is a picture perfect child hole you got some nice current flown into it it's nice and deep and there's also some cover Oh big fish oh let's go that's what I wanted yes yes just got the nicest fish of the day a beautiful wild brown trout very fat very thick you can see there's a log right behind me in the water and there's a very deep hole right there he was tucked in under that log I cast up right alongside of it and he came out and drilled it put up a great fight and got a good healthy release on him so see if we can catch some more a little better one well that's a beautiful cow not sure what number we're on but another little brownie fish on fish on baby just a little fella little fella see ya official one it's not a bad one all right great but sorry little fella this is gonna be the last hole that I fish before I head back downstream to my truck I'm gonna call it a day it's a little better one there's a little better fish another trout caught off the structure you can see that log going into the water right there I cast right up alongside of it and he came out from that log and drilled the spinner so you guys can see how important structure is for these fish so make sure you're always targeting it all right guys that is going to do it for today pretty decent morning fish for about three hours caught a bunch of fish and caught one very nice wild brown trout hopefully I gave you guys some tips to help you catch more fish but the most important thing is to get out there and go fishing I can give you tons of tips tell you how to do stuff but nothing beats getting out there and practicing I hope you guys enjoyed this video as always thank you so much for watching the show [Music]
