was um always fun gotta love technology [Laughter] but it was just oh it's tammy okay i'll call you tammy i'll add that to my little notepad i got here i always try to remember people's names i do my best uh sometimes i lose the notepad and then we're kind of screwed no matter what but do my best all right so i'll wait a minute for everyone to catch us again um now that we're in landscape mode like i wanted so i swear technology is not with me this week i have had filming problems and everything oh my oh my and it's really zoomed in lovely let's see yvonne you have trouble when you're watching a lot of streams in a single day well for some reason mine just would not switch out a portrait on the app um like if you're streaming straight from the app it's kind of annoying anyways you have to set it up in landscape but it would not swap no matter how many times i reset it so i was just like okay i'm gonna have to make i'll pop in say hi and then be like okay i gotta go make a new in yes renee i i fixed it the app i was about to swap over to my webcam and then i'm like you know what i'm gonna try just remaking it and here we are all right so yes welcome to julia in july the colorathon uh this is the image i will be doing it's called the tropical fairy super cute um it is super zoomed in but you know what tech is not on my side today so i'm not gonna screw with it let's just let it be because for all i know it's gonna come back and bite me okay so we're doing something a little fun with mine um i had not picked a color palette like i was actually sitting there like i have no idea what colors i want to do so amazon tammy during her live stream yesterday morning was like okay here's your color palette and she literally pulled three random things off her desk and one was pink one was turquoise and one was tan and i was like you know what i'm gonna take that challenge and i'm gonna use that as my color palette so this color palette is literally me winging it inspired by tammy it's it's kind of funny um but the colors actually go together really well so if i wasn't super zoomed in i could probably show you better but i've already swatched out we're gonna have some fun so let me get color in um i do have my lovely mods that'll remind me because there is a giveaway um so erica just has to yell at me and then we'll do a giveaway about halfway through and then yeah we'll just go from there all right let me see what color do i want to start with i think it's different parrot yeah all right so has everyone been enjoying the colorathon oh hi mona i'm cute but her etsy is super adorable um i think she was having a sale but i'm pretty sure that ended yesterday if i said holbein that's so funny that's what i'm gonna be like forever associated with his whole mind now the girl that does not love the whole binds oh thanks jennifer got my nails done for our stream actually i got them done just because it was time to get them done but perfect timing oh is the sale still going okay perfect emily you don't have hole binds what you don't have holbeins i figured you would have oh miss your nails like if you guys go back and look at my videos during covid when everything was shut down and i was like trying to diy my nails that was a scary sight i'm not gonna lie to you i just stuck with glitter nail polish because it wouldn't chip like in two hours after i applied it um but that was like pretty much it oh the super colors those are actually on my list um i want to get those because erica over there at elm colors uses them a lot so now i'm like oh i want those but first i need to buy the pablo's this color combo looked so much cuter on tantone paper oh let's see you'd like to get the small pastel set i actually don't mind the pastels on holbeins um believe it or not um and like i said i'm still gonna use my whole binds and try to master those things i cannot be defeated by a pencil i refuse but there's a lot of people that do amazing stuff with holbeins they're just not for me yes i do want the pablo's those are what i'll get next super colors or supra colors are on that list as well yes renee used them on hers is that really peacock i feel like i used aqua in that one hmm whatever we're gonna roll with it oh hi tiffany i didn't see it pop in did i say hi to beth i don't know if i did and marilyn hi marilyn trying to see everyone if i miss you it's not because i'm ignoring you i promise yes thank goodness there's multiple pencils out there could you imagine if there was just one brand and that was it we're so spoiled them like no one watched that please it's like we're going down memory lane today yeah cream is like my go-to color i swear i use it for like everything with my prismacolors i blend it into leaves and know that by now um i'm like yeah you know what i think i'll start with this color and we'll just see where that goes okay i really want to color her wings so we're just gonna do that oh my king art yes i need to try first thing is swatch my king art then i might use those hopefully it's not auto focusing and if it is i'm sorry and if anyone's curious my secret to coloring wings is to literally just wing it no pun intended i just color it random i'm like you know what purple looks good here pink looks good there let's just throw some blue there like i zero like zero technique here let's see oh hi audrey welcome amazon ships faster than i watch goodness uh let's see um jane yes i have done inktense on a background it's been a while i usually go with my watercolors and whatnot but i have used inktense on a background no i kind of want to use those gelatos i bought forever ago they're just sitting there collecting dust they're so lonely see she's got wings behind her too now normally i outline wings in white but um prismacolor and my white gel pens don't get along so that'll be off camera cause i gotta spray it with a fixative they won't grip anymore my artesas won't even work on top of prismas anymore they're rebelling yes the wings look like a chaotic mess at the moment don't worry they will come together what is da2 yeah i tried cleaning them evelyn they're not working though um i've had a few people say that they've had the same issue even after cleaning their artesas i don't know maybe wax rolled up in there i don't know i but i've cleaned them so [Music] oh downton abbey i love downton abbey so the second film is being filmed oh like the second movie that's right i forgot they did a movie i watched the movie just forgot about it my tablet is on silent and yet the notifications keep going off hmm i think all technology is rebelling against me today i'm just coloring wings anytime i color wings i just make them reflect all the colors that are going to be in my page so i have teal pink purple i'm not putting brown in there though even though tan is part of my color scheme i'm not putting brown wings out there yeah chet is moving fast i go to look and i'm like wait wait no wait i swear there was something else there wait what happened to shell all i see is ouch shell so i missed that somewhere things are removing 14 hours to upload oh mine used to do that with our old internet but it's been a little better but maybe youtube is just rebelling this weekend they've had enough they're like hey okay you guys are done streaming how long was the video like i do record in 4k so it takes a little longer like those hair videos will take a a bit but they still only take like two hours maybe max maybe three oh only a 33 minute one twice as long as the video yeah the crummy part is like uh upload speeds because you know you could get great download speeds from your internet provider and then realize like your upload is what won't but even with good upload speeds sometimes it's just youtube's end like i don't know let's get some green in here with more coffee i saw in the other chat brandy you were drinking coffee it's a lot of coffee girl drink it from the moment you get up to the moment you go to bed oh my gosh yeah um my stomach would straight up hate on me it already hates on me for one cup a day so i'm not going to anger it more than i already do i used to be able to drink coffee like that i miss those days now my stomach's like me out can't even eat spicy food without it rebelling i need some green up here this corner is kind of lonely on colors you love the wink i could totally be missing something oh the wing i was like wait what wink did i miss something don't worry autocorrect gets me every time i'm in someone's chat you're good i'm like this makes total sense and then i read it back i'm like oh no it's not what i was going for yeah 14 hours for a 33 minute video is uh pretty rough autocorrect is a bully i agree does it on text messages too i'm like i made total sense and then i'll read a text message like never mind but i've actually gotten so lazy that i just use samsung has the voice recordings you can just record a voice message and send that instead of a text so i just do that all right what color do i need to mix in there oh that's the color i'm missing is my peach i knew i was missing a color oh i did not tape this one well so this can be awkward to hold hey shadow welcome okay i need some blue in between there all right where is my aqua autocorrect is correcting me still my smartphones are not so smart sometimes see i definitely want this one here oh that lion was very pretty beautifully done so far all right i see i watch purple where's my purple oh thanks deb i'm gonna go all over it with white in a minute and just smush it all together just trying to fill in some of the gaps with colors that are missing yes smush that's why i love the prismacolor it just smooshes you're like what the those colors don't go together yes they do because it's a prismacolor you can smoosh them all okay not everything i've actually tried to smush colors that should not go together and sometimes it looks really bad so you gotta do it cautiously normally i would color inside the wing lines like the little lines the artist leaves but this one was just so faint and hard to see so i'm like whatever i'm just gonna make it patchy and call it good [Music] okay where is my white see now i'm just gonna smoosh it all together although this is like super sharp so this is gonna be dangerous can't push too hard otherwise that thing's gonna snap and then you guys will have to hear the glorious sound of my electric pencil sharpener i actually like the white the white makes it all translucent-ish oh thanks evelyn you're so sweet yes it's smoosh time actually hold that thought because i have a white spot not smushing yet you get some pink in there [Music] oh there we go now it's not as sharp so i can smush without snapping it all right hardest part is i'm like did i smush that already can't even see where my white is when i did this on tan toned paper you could see it's so much better but i decided to print it on white because i don't use my white paper enough i've been like on a tan tone paper kick as of late oh thank you guys thank you thank you like i said it gets outlined in white but we're not going to do that today because no one wants to sit me or see me sit here and fidget with my white gel pen and yeah and by that i mean just get frustrated and throw it so i'm gonna spray it with some workable fixative and i will outline it later i think that is smooshed enough smooshy enough yeah i think we're good all right let's see i'm gonna do her hair i'll do more wings in a minute give you guys a variety to watch here instead of me doing wings oh hi lisa thank you i'm gonna make sure i'm in frame my little fairy is gonna have brown hair because one of my the colors that will be in the page i mean granted i won't finish this on stream today um because i can't color a whole page in two hours even with prismas and all their smushy glory still need some was like ooh these could be fun but at first i was like i can't do this i'm blending them because at first i just color blocked with them and then i learned how to blend them and that was that was a nightmare probably would have been funny to watch though oh yeah you were coloring from her book i just printed a pdf i actually don't own any of her books because um i'd rather just print her pdfs since i know the books are on create space paper and yes i'm kind of a paper snob that to be shadowed oh my gosh what paper am i using um this isn't the astrobrite it's the other one i use and i can't think of it right now um yeah i will definitely make sure i link it it was linked in my original stream but since i had to start it over um i couldn't even tell erica to go get the link because there's no links right now but yeah i'll link it after because i have to double check it's one of two shadow it really doesn't make you a paper snob we just all have preferences like i like to smush my prismas and while i could smush them on any paper i just like the way they smush on certain paper and i just personally don't like a lot of tooth but there's nothing wrong with using a lot of tooth some pencils actually you have to use tooth otherwise they're just like no so it really just depends but i mean i like really smooth paper it works my coloring style and i still can layer a bunch like when i'm doing portraits you scan and print on your own paper helen yeah a lot of a lot of us do that there's nothing wrong with that um i mean a lot of times i'll buy a book on that's on createspace paper because i like the artwork and it's not offered digitally and then i'll just print it so i basically buy it with the intention of scanning and printing it but luckily more artists are starting to do pdf versions of their books which i love oh hey sabrina welcome welcome welcome and lou hello lou brandi sorry the chat's moving so fast so that i cut brandy's comment this is a really awkward the way i do it do they charge you to cut the binding or will they cut the binding for free oh cool they do that for free i could i have a whole stack of books i'm too lazy to pull the binding off of them so i'm like ah which is why they haven't been colored in they're just hanging out waiting for me to not be lazy yeah that's what i do evelyn is i heat them up and melt the glue other times i just break them like straight up use my my internal rage take it out on the poor book and just break them and they peel right off it's good therapy just pull the book apart okay i think these little wispies are her hair well they're they're gonna be her hair yeah my coloring rage got lots of coloring rage so do they just basically like say here's the the spine they just basically slice at the glue line pretty much is that how they take it or cut it because that would keep you from having any of the glue ickies all over your pages that's for sure oh we're at one hour okay okay so julia the artist whom we are all coloring in this colorathon was awesome enough to let us have an image to give away which i will show in one second um so uh those of you who've been watching the colorathon probably know the rules but just for those who are new to the giveaway rules via live stream um here is the lovely image of course i'm not going to zoom out because we all know my camera's being really dumb right now so um this is the image that julia has given us to give away and here's how it's gonna work for the giveaway guys when i type go go go into live chat so please make sure you're of my secret to a lot of things i do yeah i just threw some color there it looked good so i was like yeah i guess we're gonna call that water today half the things i color i just don't think about it i just slap the color down and i almost find they work better than when i'm actually trying to color something correctly so i love about prismas they just do whatever you want them to let's see shadow i'm currently coloring a picture with water and i'm avoiding it the sky and water are the last oh you could yeah you could do water with um distress ink or like put down distress ink is like your base to kind of take away the scary white space that's all up in front of you and then just use some pencil for extra i mean at the end i literally just smushed this together with white if you haven't noticed like a recurring theme on this page smushing with white but white and sky blue or i should say sky blue light if you want to be correct about it oh her etsy shop again yeah it was in my description for my other uh one um erica do you have uh her etsy shop by chance oh look at that she's already on top of it i had all these linked in the original stream so now it's like ah maybe nope no cloud blue i use sky blue light at least for this water combo because i'm going more teal-ish since tammy picked teal as one of my colors let me just color over that flower like it wasn't even there yes swishing with white i honestly don't use white that often to smoosh it's just wow i cannot clean the lines today uh today because like fairy wings i always smush with white to make them more translucent looking and then water i always like smoosh with my lightest color and white it's like i press harder with my lighter colors my darker ones are there just for a little bit of depth i think in my s do i have what you know i have light green in here too so i need to take that out so i don't forget to add that i love smushy pencils it saves my hand from cramping just smush i tend to always blend though with the lightest color or a white rather than the colorless blender but that's just how i roll you do you some pencils like i have to use the colorless blender though because i don't like to layer for days i'm like i'm done with this i'm just adding some green because why not we're totally gonna dust that off get the prisma dust going on get that in there oh thank you mary just trying to go for some magical looking water and not not a swampy one so i'm trying to not put too much green let's see charlotte uh i never liked the prisma blender yeah i always use a lighter color or white i i don't always use a blender and then my shadow asks something but my chat is being silly let's see uh which pencil is more smooshable yeah prismas it definitely prismas luminance uh buff titanium i use as a blender sometimes but if you're talking smoosh ability it's totally the prisma there is no other smoosher oh thank you guys thank you thank you literally just making squiggly lines for water and we're gonna call it water all right i need to get out my wipe but i'm not ready for my weight yet watch this color get a little bit of darker areas here and there you love your prisma blender i use the prisma blender on other pencils quite a lot and if i ever am like looking to drag a color i tend to reach for my prisma blender i haven't tried the derwent one though i know a lot of people really like the derwent blender but i haven't tried it i will admit i'm off screen oh there we go trying to keep it all on frame the water kind of just ends over here i'll probably go back later and like create something but a lot of this image just like suddenly appears what's the dark blue oh that's indigo blue uh i have for the water it's indigo blue cobalt turquoise um aquamarine uh light aqua light green sky blue light and then there will be white also that's a lot of colors um but yeah see i like the karan dash one i dig that one oh thanks angela so yeah the sky blue light i just kind of use to help blend a few areas and then i usually go over a few with white you didn't like the derwent one karen is that what you're saying cause i haven't tried the derwent one but i swear colorless blenders are like pencils we all you know have preferences let's see i know what you meant evelyn i knew what you meant the aran dash karan dash is a lot to type is it is the derwent one harder than the um prisma one because that the prisma one is pretty pretty rough i don't know did the picture go away i mean it's showing on my tablet but um i don't know if it went away for anyone else honestly the prisma blender was made for the smushy pencils you might just have to restart it renee like i swear youtube is having a day or something i hope it doesn't give shell grief okay ooh my hand i'm not even pressing that hard it's just my hand see lisa i'm coloring with prismas over copic and you're in your happy place yeah i like i'm saying earlier i need to start using marker bases it would save me a lot of time i don't know why i don't do it honestly i keep saying i'm going to but then i'm like oh just use the pencils whatever it says you've been to too many streets you have been barred from streaming i guess i could sit here and add water layers for days like two years later oh the parrot case that ryan has i'm pretty sure i'm pretty sure renee is joking do that for you i have them all written down on my little test sheet over here i have to go back to my old stream and copy everything over anyway so i'll make sure to add the colors and yes shell is you weren't here for the smoosh tammy loves this mush yes my pencil is taped together it's what i do i don't use pencil extenders so i just buddy tape it to its replacement friend so that it fits in my afmac sharpener i know some people glue it but that would require me to wait for it to dry and i don't have that kind of patience going on so tape it is but yes that's what i do with my pencils instead of extending them because i just i don't like pencil extenders and i can't seem to find one that i like yeah you can't miss the smoosh i even said smoosh thank you erica elma whatever we shall call you today you've been a dear i felt so bad i'm like hey who wants to volunteer to do all this happy sunday so i tried a few pencil extenders and i just they've all been uncomfortable to me um i've even tried buying those things from my kids school that have like little rubber silicone whatever thing and i just don't like them so i just tape them i just tape them buddy them up to their next color and then it actually lets me sharpen the pencil like down to there so um i actually get more out of my pencils that way but then it fits in my fmat so that was the other reason it broke it and performed surgery on it now like half the pencils i'm using today though are taped together because they were on their last leg and they wouldn't fit in my sharpener but that's the thing with the pencil extender it won't get the pencil into my afmat so no pencil surgery today but yes they're all see this one's buddy taped to its replacement so you'll have like freakishly long pencils but you just get used to it i don't know what did charlotte say because i missed that one you give me the pencil tape uh you guys you guys [Laughter] stirred up some pencil talk pencil surgery talk i know prismas break a lot but no i was not performing surgery on my prismas today they've actually stayed intact i just wanted to be able to sharpen them keep my hand out of the way keep forgetting i don't my dog was okay that's why i shared that picture in my community tab she's fine she's just a dork yeah i just taped them together so that i can sharpen them and use them um more so sharpen them because i'll use a pretty short pencil for a while but they won't fit in my sharpener once they get to like right here the aft mat won't sharpen them so brandi you were worrying about my dog well i
