Treatment Helps Sean Find Redemption After Alcohol Struggles | Intervention | A&E

sensitivity to him that were just very precious but his life is a mess he's really messed it up I am an alcoholic yeah I am definitely an alcoholic I don't think anyone that you know drinks all day every day could claim anything [Music] otherwise I do love drinking I do Sean drinks constantly he smells of alcohol sometimes reeks of alcohol it's unbelievable to think that somebody can drink that in a day oh Jesus I just bit half of my tongue off I I just I just can't comprehend that when Sean drinks he hits this tipping point where if he has a drink too many then there's this dark side of Sean that comes out he when he's drunk sea does have a rage to him oh hell no hey he can get violent where is she going did they really just bounce out he can put his through a door I really want to break something right now I've have been a couple of times where I'm starting to get heated hate that kid I will get frustrated with people who the hell is you and how you get your hands in my bag you he's out of control I've got to get some liquor in me like the shakes and like that if I go several hours without drinking which usually is when I sleep uh like yeah Shak start to get pretty bad I know I pretty much have a countdown timer where I have to you know get to a store and get some liquor to get in me before things get real real [Music] bad I work I have a job I mean I'm make more than enough money Sean's not able to keep jobs for very long whoa Chef he has to plan his day around drinking our Christian faith it permeates every aspect of Our Lives when my parents were raising us they really wanted us involved in the church they wanted us to be moral kids we wanted our children tell the truth and if they you know did wrong tell us they did something wrong my dad would you know he demanded honesty he demanded that we behave he was one of the strongest people you will ever meet I totally idolized my dad one day I walked out of the warehouse to go ask him if there was anything else that he wanted done his office like he had his own set of Windows and everything and he forgot to close the blinds and uh I saw him doing things that would not have made my mom [Music] happy it was devastating devastating there was one word that was always going through my head and that was hypocrite you lead this life and you read this Bible and you go to church I did feel betrayed that's the dad that I idolized I was doing what he told me to do as far as being truthful and honest and then you're going to sit there and call me a liar and punish me for your own transgressions you I lost a lot of faith in [Music] everything it made me very very very angry is that true what the cheating yes no it's not true did he allege that Larry had an affair it's not true I mean I there's no question in my mind that it's not true sea is a liar we started to see Shawn change definitely becoming uh more defiant he would act out at youth group and he became pretty hostile to it Sean started gravitating toward Fringe kids we all had a blast we just we partied a lot we drank a lot my love changed all right I didn't want Sean around I wanted him to go [Music] someplace at that point I think the Sean's drinking changed and it escalated at night we'd all just get together and just start pounding drinks I would just drink and I would just drink and drink and drink his life was a mess we began referring to Shawn as an [Music] alcoholic jewes she is my best friend as well as my wife at the exact same time H the beauty of living in Salem when I'm with jewes I feel like the luckiest mother in the world I love Sean he's he's an amazing person like it's hard to not love him I feel comfortable I feel safe I absolutely love [Music] him I'm just drinking buddy their marriage is unhealthy it's just baffling to me Sean and Jules really are feeding each other's self-destruction I don't want to lose him he will never tell him to stop I won't tell him to [Music] stop Sean I didn't want to be here today when Ryan called up and said that this thing was going to take place I said don't count me in yesterday I called Ryan up on the phone and said Mom and I aren't going forward we got together with Ryan nly couple hours later and um here we are and we know what you're doing and we want to help you but do you know what I've been through I understand you you I understand but Sean we want to help you and we can discuss those things that you've been through and that we have been through as a family Ryan mom and I no matter what you decide are going to go to the Betty Ford Clinic because we need to be helped y'all are going Sean I love you I love you unconditionally okay I hate what you do but I love you all I want to do is see you get better will you accept our gift today I got to go find Jules though I got to talk to her so is that yes and that's what you got to do all right look look at me yeah as long as it's cool with her course you Anie I love you I love you [Music] too I'm very excited I'm very excited I feel good I actually I feel whereas before I was just so numbed out by alcohol I couldn't feel anything Sean did an excellent job at facing the anger that was in his child I am sorry I haven't been there for you my prayer is we can learn together how to handle this disease he's done great with the family involvement and I think they have a much better relationship because of [Music] it know me well enough to tell five steps you [Music] over [Music] quicker
