Treasures from Mixed Bags of Jewelry at the Thrift Store

hey guys coin metallurgist here just went to the thrift store there's only one major thrift store in the city that I'm living in now so it's super crazy busy all the time but the terms of bags is just jewelry stuff and I never seen anything good in them so I never get to buy them I just need to see you know like one good thing in them and I'll buy them but I ended up getting two big bags here this one it's huge and heavy as I'm just hoping that maybe there's one big piece of silver in there or something there's only like seven bucks when this bag with ten bucks and I saw one tiny little bracelet it was marked 14k so we'll go through that and see what we can find and then one last little thing is I did get a ring that's marked ten karat gold was 25 bucks I'll test that and I'll come back to you in just a second welcome back everyone um first off I did test this ring that is marked 10 karat gold and it did test as ten karat gold and I think that this is an actual big old Ruby here so very happy with that paid $25 for it I think it's probably almost $100 in in gold and if I get you know even just 80% of that it's like 72 bucks in the bag that costs me $10 is a little bit smaller bag there's this little bracelet that is a 14-karat gold and this is the reason why I bought the bag and it's really light it's not even a gram but still it's worth I think about fifteen dollars or maybe twenty dollars in gold so worth the 10 dollar bag and then there's this one that is a gold filled sorry losin it there twenty three carat gold filled our gold-plated I guess so that was really nice and then I did amazing in the seven dollar bag it was a whole lot of fun to look through it um all kinds of stuff you know lots of just beads and all kinds of crazy things there's really cool glass beads from Czechoslovakia I guess just check um there's a Harry Potter trading card kind of interesting this little Eagle I'm just like a little pewter thing but it looks it's got felt so it's probably from like a chess set this spoon handle someone made it into like a charm or a bracelet or something I really thought it did look silver especially on this side I think it must be silver plate because I tested toward like tiny bit of silver but not anything this little cross the loop here is labeled 95 and I tested that so that and I tested the cross as well cross isn't labeled and it's also magnetic so the cross is not silver but the little loop up top is there's two items that were in the in the bag that were the reason why I bought it this big bracelet and this pocket watch now this big bracelet honestly looks so silver to me a color the inside all look silver not marked doesn't test a silver and even you know it's bends like silver should but it doesn't test to be silver it's still a really cool bracelet or watch band but um apparently not silver but this pocket watch um which seems to be quite old here's the timepiece from it I'll let you guys get a good look at this you can tell me that this is anything valuable or if you know anything about it I don't know anything about watches and we have mmm the number five zero nine five I believe is on all the different pieces we have WM Ellery Boston it's like hand signed right there by Ellery not the most complicated a timepiece I've ever seen but still I think it's probably old and probably pretty valuable this thing I didn't find a marking on it any I mean there's markings all over it that have like numbers but I didn't see any markings that said silver but I tested it and it test says silver and it sure looks it for me as far as I'm concerned and maybe there is a marking somewhere that are something found but I just thought they would have put it on one of these pieces all of these pieces are marked five two four zero so I guess the faceplate of the watch has a different marking than the rest of these pieces five two four zero and this piece up here is not silver it's magnetic but the rest of it is and it's well over an ounce of silver it's big and heavy so that alone is worth well more than I paid for the bag I've got a little sterling ring with probably um torque oyster little sterling locket and all this stuff I have a tested in addition to it being marked when it is it's hard to open the locket with one hand here it's a there we go marked right here 95 um this is kind of neat I've seen these before and I am aware that it's a like 23-karat gold plated but I'm sure it's super thin plate and the gold on it style worth anything but kind of fun and Charizard a little Timex watch again if anyone who knows watch as well that knows anything about this you also let me know if this is old or valuable at all it says Timex I think it's indigo in the glow and then it says quartz and that has the little water there that I think means it's waterproof or resistant let me give you a good look at the back here does have a battery so not a real old one water resistant made in the Philippines yeah if anyone knows let me know that's the few little things here this came off something it's just like a little brass token or something and then a little Goodluck token Kade a whatever that is kind of fun um and then a few little surprise good things here this is a little 14 karat gold heart I think it's like 0.3 grams we have here a really nice piece of jade and all this metal here is 14 karat kind of hard to weigh that with the Jade on there and then this looks like it was an earring and is broken but the chain on here and the little gold beads are all gold and I think these are real freshwater pearls and I think those are probably just a little black glass beads um it's a little bit of gold this is super cool it's like a little keychain little knife I open it up for you just a tiny little thing looks real sharp though and I can't remember what this is called but it's got this really nice I think this made from shells if I remember correctly I'm really nice little thing let's see here just one last thing here this chain now this chain is clearly broken it doesn't have anymore doesn't have a clasp anymore and it's not marked on the chain at all of anything but I tested it with you know typically I just use 10 14 and 18 karat gold tests for everything and I tested with the 18 karat right to see if it was silver and it the 18 karat gold didn't do anything to the scratch of it and then I put you know I tried it on the 10 try it on the 14 I was like shoot and none of these are taking the the mark away and so I tried the platinum and I tried 22 karat and neither one touched it so I think it might be a little platinum chain and it's you know it's little it's superlight I think if it was platinum it would only be maybe like $30 in platinum but I'll you know take that into some cooler or something and get it tested and find out but if so I did really well because I paid $7 for that bag and there's quite a bit of you know a few things a silver um still really neat bracelet this old watch maybe a Timex watch that might be worth something a little bit of 14-karat gold and maybe a platinum that looks necklace her bracelet I guess and you know even it was a lot of fun and there's a lot of cool stuff in there there's like some Christmas ornaments like this that you can put a little picture in um some cool like little animal things that I've seen people with before but just um you know very cool stuff and I think I might do this more in the future because I did really well with it but thank you for watching and I hope you
