TRAVEL VLOG: Camping & Airbnb Staying in Joshua Tree, CA! (4 Year Anniversary Vlog!)

one two three four [Music] good morning everybody and welcome back to my channel or welcome to my channel if you guys are new here if you haven't already make sure you subscribe to my channel because we're almost at 50k we're about to hit it and i'm so excited so let's get there i might have already hit it by the time this video is up but i have no idea make sure you like and comment on this video okay koa my boyfriend and i are going camping at joshua tree national park here in california so it's about a three hour road trip there um two to three hour road trip and we're going to camp there tonight in our car because he does have a bed in his car so we're gonna do that the first night and then we're also going to go um stay at an airbnb the second night so we will be there for two nights three days total and yeah really excited we are almost on the way now it is 11 20 on wednesday we have to get gas still we are at a gas station right now actually and then we're going to go to the store get a few last minute things go eat and then head on the road so it's really exciting we're going specifically for our anniversary um our anniversary is tomorrow it's our four-year anniversary so really exciting just really cool getaway and hopefully everything is all set and good still with the pandemic and everything we'll just have to see and wait till we get there to find out all of it but i just wanted to intro this vlog now yeah it's gonna be a really exciting vlog so i hope you enjoy it and let's get into the video everyone say hi to my vlog or don't there's 30 people here now no one's saying hi come on guys come on guys we got to like 120 something we're doing a little live to kill some time but we're almost there now so ending it minutes away this is the end of the live now people are saying hi it's 97 degrees you're on the road almost there 30 minutes away wow it just hit 100 degrees yikes i just did an instagram live for a little which was really fun so if you came to that thank you for coming to that this is our view right now just some windmills and that's about it kind of have to pee i'm scared for this heat guys it's supposed to be so hot already a hundred yeah so we'll update you when we get there [Music] we made it to the visitor center there's our entrance to the left we've got all the goodies and i'm going to pee in my first port-a-potty not my first my first port-a-potty here and i'm still wearing joggers definitely it's really hot it's like not as bad as i thought though like it's windy so it's good that porta potty was disgusting there was a pile of poop just sitting in the toilet really gross and it was so hot in there but that's our life for the next day very exciting got our map we're heading to the entrance right now heading to the west entrance right there we were just at the visitor center we also bought a pack of playing cards because we forgot to bring some just tourist things i feel like we're definitely gonna use them we're just talking to a park ranger that's what they're called yeah and he was really nice he was just telling us you know he's been the ones from the visitor center so i don't know if he's a park ranger he looked like a park ranger i think he was he was just telling us like what like where we can camp and stuff and the ways in and out and stuff like that but yeah we're going to go try to find a spot at hidden valley campgrounds if not we will find another one but yeah we're going to also do a hike tonight when it gets a little cooler tomorrow morning we should go to that view is that the what it is they said it's like good for sunrise and sunset we're probably gonna do that for sunrise yeah let's do that for sunrise tomorrow yeah we picked up newspaper thingies it has like all the hikes all the trails all the map and just information campgrounds stuff wildlife camper guards outside the park he also said the stars are supposed to be really really cool tonight so this is dark night sky viewing it's just like tips for how to stargaze really cool i'm really excited yeah we're heading to the entrance now already on a bad note guys bee flew in the car let the bee in i'm not in my pants just yeah just let it don't kill it though i don't want to kill it okay we literally just stopped on the side of the road just to climb these little rocks over here and take a picture very very very hot i changed into some biker shorts because i was not going to live in those joggers we're going to climb some of these boulders just because why not he also let me borrow his university of hawaii bucket hat because i don't want to die out here also side note we have zero experience climbing rocks like this let's see how this goes oh my gosh there he is i'm just gonna take a picture of him from down here okay we just took a couple pictures on those rocks me out of breath realizing i need to drink more water and we're gonna go find our campsite now hopefully there's a spot there my white shoes okay we might have just found a spot there was so many open ones so like we really had options obviously there's a lot of shade it's pretty giant it's huge all that shade right there is some cool rocks this would be our picnic table and our little little fire pit that we don't have anything for yeah i like this one did we just buy our first house just kidding this is cool that'd be cool where does the sunset i literally have no idea what time it is oh look the bathroom's right there it's gonna sit that way oh true it's already setting we won't really see the sunset we're going to be hiking yeah oh my gosh i'm so excited this is so pretty this one is currently right behind that rock it's actually not even hot got our picnic table we're going to chill out a little bit before we go hike 4 20 right now we'll probably go again like five years 5 30. we're going to play some speed first i'm going to kick his button speed first sorry [Music] first hike of the trip so yeah it was on the right so we're doing this one right now and then we're gonna do this one after and we're staying there what is look at the little tail it's like the second one we see oh look at chipmunk side oh my gosh first hike how you feeling my calves are you're just saying it doesn't feel as hot as it is so that's very nice [Music] and i can't think nothing better i started a year with a drop of romance [Music] [Music] blueberries [Music] [Applause] goodbye the joshua tree that's a lot of red ants here hoping none of them stick to my shoe again we're almost there too okay we just finished that hike it was 1.26 miles it wasn't really a hike it was kind of just like a stroll yeah but it was nice really hot but like not at the same time wow i look really cute you look really cute i look really cute i'm being sarcastic and your little bucket hat and your little bucket hat now are we gonna go to the other bike or we're gonna wait it's up to you okay either wait a little bit and do the second hike closer to sunset or we can just do it right now don't know what we're gonna do though we're back home now we decided we're just gonna wait a little bit until sunset and eat some veggies so we got more ranch should we got my ranch okay we're gonna have to use a nail we just ate some veggies after we got attacked by we'll not attack we got threatened by some wasps and horse flies look there's one right there things are giant and they're everywhere of course but we're gonna go for that little cave over there if you can see it looks kind of cool this is scary that's a cool picture [Music] i didn't even get your first pose do it again just like that [Music] second hike hidden valley trail i think this is like one of the most popular ones and the sun is setting at 6 15. we're going here [Music] look how pretty the camera definitely does not do it justice that's okay we're like covered in a layer of dirt so we look very dark right now but we're not yeah that's so pretty [Applause] picture okay so we're kind of lost different off-roading trails you can take so it's hard to know like what's the right way you know we'll find it eventually no that was too steep what the heck where are we this is our current situation like we haven't also ow these things look like they hurt because we went on the outside maybe okay i think we did it maybe sunsetting yeah the sun is almost gone and i look disgusting and feel disgusting and smell disgusting he does too so it's okay just kidding just kidding he doesn't found our way back sweaty sweaty sweaty so we're back now setting up our little spot to put my slides on and it was a horrible idea because dirt is just getting all in them i'm struggling oh there you go it wasn't down all the way put the cooler over there with all the good food i literally wiped just like my arms and my chest and stuff down with baby wipes oh yeah so now i feel a little bit cleaner not clean cleaner or a little table set up i put a different shirt on and that's what we're working with the weather is like so nice right now it's not even hot not cold it's like perfect which is really nice and yeah we're getting like the bed and stuff ready so we can do it huh so we can do it before the sun goes down [Music] cause [Music] so pretty dinner time have you ever used that thing [Music] here's our little add-on tray and we've got the vegan american cheese slices really excited to try these i actually haven't tried them we're gonna put these on the burgers we've got ketchup mayo and some buns over there burgers it wasn't working at first which was a little scary but we're good now and then i haven't showed you any other snacks we got but we got some white cheddar cheez-its zinc protein bar top ramen for the morning spam for the morning then we also got these like tuna and chicken salad little snack bites these are so good we've got a little salad that we're gonna make as a side for burgers and lots of ice i'm surprised the ice is still like the ice is still like completely here i literally just opened the ketchup bottle to put ketchup on my burger and it exploded on me so cool so fortunate this is our little dinner set up dinner dates burgers salad water i'm gonna eat that thanks for waiting for me you promised redemption okay you guys it's a little bit later now we just ate dinner finished eating cleaned up the campsite and threw away all the trash and stuff it's like 8 45 i think yeah 8 46 and we're waiting for it to get darker it's pretty dark already but it's not completely dark so that we can watch in stargaze and stuff like that so we're just sitting and probably gonna go sit out on the chairs a little bit and just chill in the dark [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] morning everybody it's 5 30. it's our anniversary today we're driving to go watch the sunset i mean sunrise it's already pretty light outside but the sun hasn't like actually shown yet so we it wasn't hot last night at all like we were scared it was gonna be it was just very uncomfortable and i'm glad we're only sleeping in the car one night because that was just not the best it wasn't that bad we will talk to you when we get to the hike [Music] we're here oh my gosh wasps following me to put in words how the colors are flowing to try to kind of fast my heart [Music] i just ignore and then go on with the dream [Music] she [Music] is [Music] okay we ended up taking a little nap in the car again after we came back from watching the sunrise so we slept for like an hour and a half or something but now we're up again and we're going to make breakfast top ramen and spam delicious okay the spam is cut the water is boiling and anything else life is good that's good we're obviously in shape in the sun now because of the way the sun moves luckily we have an umbrella chicken is the best anyone else used to eat it hard not cooked you never did that huh yeah i did so you would crack it up and then you would throw the seasoning in it and then you shake it up and eat it like that so good that's going to be a snack later probably food for those noodles to cook okay we got the spam with less sodium healthy breakfast guys i haven't had top ramen in so long me either so this pot seems to be doing all right don't know why the other pot the other panda got destroyed hello buddy cuter than the rat was oh my gosh oh my gosh squirrels attack though go away breakfast is served goodbye beautiful campground it's about 20. it's about 20 you will be loved forever we're leaving we're heading to my neighbors we also had very nice neighbors um we're heading to the bathroom because he needs to go to the bathroom and then we're just gonna leave from there and continue on our scenic round continue on our scenic route goodbye to our campsites but we're gonna see a lot more cool things so hey so yeah we are heading out of the park now um they said it's about an hour drive through the park the scenic way like to get out so we're going to take that drive um probably head to starbucks first just to kill some time just to kill some time i don't need it but might as well because it's right there by walmart then we need to go to walmart to get stuff for the airbnb like um firewood and stuff to cook dinner because we're making like this pad thai recipe that we found and probably stuff for breakfast too tomorrow so we're doing that originally our airbnb guy said that we might be able or we would probably be able to check in earlier than three but he just messaged yesterday i just saw this morning because we didn't have service all this time until we went on to the um sunrise hike but he said that we can't check in early but we can check out later so originally our checkout time was like 11 a.m but we have until like 1 p.m to check out now tomorrow so we might stay longer um just depending on how things go i don't know but yeah it's 903 it's still very early and it's 81 degrees very hot i cannot wait to shower i stink so bad but it's okay so we're heading out now and i'll see you soon some big rocks school rock yeah school rock is over here somewhere so we actually decided we're gonna do another like little hike to the cactus garden they described it as like an ocean of cacti because look at it it says warnings ahead oh exciting oh it goes through the little pathway how cute they look like soft feel them just see time for another hike there's no one else here bug spray doesn't it look soft oh my god it's a big lizard oh that's cool huge lizard i don't like pizzas see ya joshua tree we have signal ladies and gents now we're in 29 palms this is actually where our airbnb is but we're going back to joshua tree go to yuca valley to go get stuff at walmart just got the goods got my two pumps of caramel and soy milk he didn't get it good because we're going to go to steak and shake for lunch um and he's going to get a shake there so he didn't want to get a frappuccino like he always does and currently on pinterest looking for pasta recipes because we're going to make some creamy tomato pasta tonight so i'm just looking for a recipe and yes they didn't have strawless lids so i look so dirty oreo shakes please anything else all right that's gonna be it thank you you chose oreo out of all of those kinds there was that was the only good one got our lunch this is spiky spiky spicy chicken sandwich he got a burger i didn't want to get a burger because we just had him last night but this looks so good he's had steak and shake before i haven't because they don't have it in san diego so and he also got an oreo milkshake and we got some fries it's currently 12 34 we wait till three 12 34 we can't check in until three so we're really stalling but we still need to go to walmart hello everybody 2 30 100 degrees outside we just went to walmart and picked up a bunch of stuff we need we were there for literally like how long like an hour and a half just walking around trying to kill some time and now we're on our way to the airbnb but there's like specific directions we have to fall so we can't just map it and we're heading to the airbnb now i will do a walmart haul when we get there and an airbnb hall i mean airbnb tour we'll see when we get there there's not much to show or talk about right now so see you later we're here off-road expedition yeah really though like i was not expecting it to be that bumpy and rocky we're here but we're 12 minutes early so we're just gonna wait until we can go in because i think like they have the security cameras installed right now or turned on right now and then they turn off when we check in so we're just gonna wait till three for no problems but yeah we're here so cute we have arrived my friends wait i'm confused we're here we have a little seating area our little cowboy tub please tell me oh it's draining right now because it says it takes like an hour look at this little pool that's so funny little tanning chairs oh my gosh this is adorable it's draining right now little picnic table i don't think you're supposed to open it this little campfire area over there show you that in a second it's so windy but so it's so fun so cute it's so little oh i'm literally in love with this okay little couch over here i really have to pee so bad little table little breakfast area beautiful huge windows beautiful oh my hair beautiful mirror so cute definitely taking pictures here and a little fireplace with firewood ac unit oh my gosh i'm gonna paint my pants this barn door these are so cute i love those kitchen has like everything so cute even a washer and dryer which is gonna be really nice i took a quick pause to go pee but this is our bedroom so cute they definitely changed things since it has been on the airbnb listing because it's a lot cuter now but circle mirror window tv it has hulu and netflix little bathroom adorable shower that toilet is actually very cute another mirror okay we're gonna bring everything in now i already 10 out of 10 recommend this place it is so cute okay i'm gonna do a little walmart haul really quick um we got some spinach some parmesan cheese yeah i'm not dairy free today today some eggs to make for breakfast these hamburger patties are leftover from yesterday should i put them in the freezer in the fridge oh not texas toast i chose the garlic bread some fresh basil and oregano for some pasta some ground turkey some cream cheese we also got other things like not for today those are still in the car because we don't need them here look at some coffee beans medium roast coffee sumatra coffee a bunch of teas a kettle a little mini toaster oven look at those mini pots a bunch of dishes a little radio tea kettle glasses drying racks the uh dishwasher we don't even need anything they have a can opener where's the uh salts oh dang they have everything what the heck but they're probably open i wouldn't want to use those people probably just leave stuff here look a bunch of coffee beans oh trash bags trash can dish soap bunch of stuff i think i know what we should do he also got this at marshall's a little mini table shuffleboard kit we will do it we'll do it later we're playing a quick game of mini shuffleboard before i shower because i feel so gross and i want to shower those things are so tiny okay because you pick blue you go for you picked red you go first a little update i just showered even though we're gonna go in the pool in a little bit because that's making me shower too yeah making him shower because why wouldn't you want to shower after not showering or washing your hands for a day the pool is still draining by the way it has like this much left literally it's not even done draining it's almost done draining um this is much better lighting i don't know why it wasn't over here before but it's still draining it has like that much left and then we're gonna refill it which says it takes like 15 to 20 minutes so we're gonna do that and then for that probably just gonna eat some snacks we have these chicken and tuna salad little cracker kits that we got we didn't eat them while we were camping so probably just gonna eat those right now and then chillax a little bit probably enjoy the ac because this airbnb has ac and it's so nice and i'm so glad but it's very very hot and dry outside so it's very nice in here honestly this airbnb highly recommend it literally has everything except flies are landing on me there's like five flies in here right now that we need to focus on getting out of here but other than that like it literally has so much stuff yeah i'll link the exact one that we're in down below so if you ever visit you can stay here too if you want to but yeah just so many just influencer things but there's just so many picture spots and i don't know how i'm gonna choose where to take pictures and we're still gonna take like a picture together for our anniversary so let's figure out where to do that but yeah that's the update talk to you later oh also i forgot to show you but we also got some rigatoni noodles some tomato chunks some tomato paste garlic onion and yeah we're making creamy tomato pasta tonight and also garlic bread and then tomorrow morning i think we're making eggs spinach and the leftover hamburger patties maybe such a random breakfast but that's okay here you go tuna salad and crackers thank you mine's the same but it's chicken ew we really need to get these flies out of here okay we just filled up the pool and it feels really good it's like cold but not cold it's currently 108 degrees luckily we have this little tub in the pool i just got out i was in for a little bit but now i'm laying out of tanning are you still in there telling me how his fees go i'm sitting out here tanning i was wet so i'm not it wasn't as hot now i'm hot weather check what do you think the weather is menu three guess again you have one more guess 106. what it's 106 degrees right now it really doesn't feel like it at all i mean it's hot but it's like dry heat so it doesn't feel as hot those are giant ants they're black too not even ready it's time to cook some dinner it's 6 40 the sunset's at like 8 o'clock so we want to get done before that making some creamy tomato pasta with some ground turkey like i said before is it recording a little vlog what really so we've just been cooking for the past like hour i'm going to show you this beauty of a dinner we got some creamy tomato pasta with spinach and just yumminess we're making some ground turkey also to add to it just for some meat and some garlic bread is in the toaster oven literally if you know me i you know i don't cook so i'm very proud of myself because i literally did all this by myself i told him i'd make dinner and he could make breakfast tomorrow so that's what is going on but this looks so freaking delicious so we're trying to hurry up and finish that so we can go outside and watch the sunset we're just playing some pandora country radio on the tv because it's really cool you can play it on there so yeah just waiting to watch the sunset waiting for this to be done and finally done we rushed out here to get here before the sun set and we barely made it but better than patent petite water and wine glasses because we're bougie [Music] okay we're going out to go make some s'mores now literally can't see anything so i'll let you know when we make our bonfire very dark out here like very but the stars are already so crazy i wish i could pick it up on camera but i can't we got a dura flame log from walmart so we're just lighting that makes it very easy maybe should we put another one on um if you want to i mean it'll die out anyway overnight you're supposed to leave a fire unattended yeah i know just do because they last for a long time don't they yeah i think one is good [Music] good morning everybody morning the next morning what time is it like nine or something it's making breakfast some omelettes um and i'm going to i just put my contacts in but i'm gonna brush my teeth and wash my face and do my skincare and stuff like that let's go look outside really quick oh yeah it's hot but it feels good for like a second okay i need all this stuff moisturizer serum and sunscreen oh okay i'm gonna stick them there and my face wash is in here curology face wash okay time for skin care first thing i do is put on this serum this is the drink it up by clarity super hydrating serum um i don't know i've just been doing this lately and i really like how it feels and it does really hydrate my face without making it too hydrated and oily so i like that and then i'm using the bio clarity sun filter um clean screen for face this is sps spf 30 and it's green but when it goes on it's normal pretty much don't forget your sunscreen you guys especially when you're in the desert because those uv rays are so high and you can get burnt so fast from just being in the sun for like 15 minutes so you need sunscreen no matter what you say and then after i let this soak in a little bit because it is still very like tacky so then i used the theology moisturizer this is the smooth sailing one and moisturize my face and my neck and that my friends is all i do for my skin care sizzle sizzle breakfast is served there's a fly omelets yum india so we are getting ready to leave now we're basically leaving we just cleaned everything up pretty much it's 11 57. so we're gonna head out soon we're packing up the car wiping down the counters and stuff and then we're going bye bye beautiful airbnb you've been so good to us cutest well the only airbnb i've stayed in i think but the best one highly recommend ready time to go nothing else guys a tornado literally just like flew right by me i was standing right here and i heard some like wind like weird wind over there by that bush and then i saw a huge gust of wind like circling on the floor and then it went over there and then went over there and i fell to the dirt go in my eyes we're leaving now farewell beautiful airbnb and farewell joshua tree [Music] so does that count
