[Music] apart from Ghana I never really considered living or experiencing life in a different African country prior to visiting Kenya every single first impression I've had so far on this trip has changed my entire perception about so much of what I thought I knew about other African countries and the crazy part is it's only day one come with me let's go to Kenya [Music] thank you hey guys so I'm on my way to my most anticipated trip in Africa for some reason I've been looking forward to going to this place for the longest time and it's finally happened I'm going to Kenya guys I'm on my way to Kenya oh my God I'm gonna go everywhere Nairobi lamu Mombasa like everywhere that's exciting well I don't think I can do the whole uh Kenya in the time that I'm going because I'm only there for like eight days but you know oh can't contain my excitement so yeah let's go I'll talk to you again when I get to the airport I'm looking forward to it this way [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] I made it to the airport guys all right let's go and get our bags checked in thank you is to take that right here so I have a lot of time I have like two and a half hours so I'm just going to relax and enjoy the airport probably eat something and then we'll get on the lights so yeah I'll see you guys when I get home tonight so yeah I'll see you guys [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] smells good oh my God I can't wait to get out of this place and show you what can I looks like I'm so excited we had a little bit of trouble because Clemens got his um yellow fever shot a day before we arrived and apparently he was meant to have gotten it a week before but it's all sorted now oh my God after so much trouble I've made it I'm here um waiting for my car the guy the driver's gonna bring the car around to pick me up so yeah the weather's a little bit cooler not freezing just crew laugh s just turned you from Ghana how is Ghana very good it's very good welcome to Nairobi thank you a lot warmer than my Ruby it's warmer in Ghana than Nairobi yeah yeah it was right now normally here oh really and it's cold today but it keeps on changing maybe in the afternoon it might get warm all right so what's the name of this airport area okay let me show you the streets and a lot of brains [Music] I was doing a little bit of research online before I came and I had the security was really tight in the airport and same people went through checks like three times and stuff before checking out but they but again I don't know how long ago they came to Kenya maybe they came a while ago and uploaded the video later on I didn't watch any recent travelers to Kenya but from my experience today which is August um we only had one Security check so once you pick up your bags they scan the Box randomly they don't scan every bag necessarily they just pick random bags and scan them and yeah if you have anything that's concerning middle distance on issue but otherwise it was smooth um all the way through really so this is what leads you into town this is what leads you into towns ah it goes out to West foreign so every time you go through it you pay yeah this one you pay okay okay is that a longer route if you go to go together it's a long lot of traffic oh okay so it's not worth it how much do you pay on this one this one is 300 from here so Westlands is the city center it's just like uh okay it's really developed so where do you live I live through sides of Westlands okay okay you guys can you reminds me of the UK so far we're still on the highway but like I don't know I think okay the weather is gray which is like just like that in the UK all the time and then the I don't know the highway what it looks like you know when you first exit the airport it looks like that yeah maybe when I see more of it it will be different buttons eight days [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] and how do you say it please please yes and how do you say thank you okay okay that's easy to remember thank you very much [Music] okay do you like living in Kenya [Music] well people move around the world oh okay if I get tired in Nairobi I go down close to Mombasa okay yeah yeah so you switch it up sometimes yeah okay why do you think it's a good place to live in Kenya yeah because I was born here no not you like just for people in general why do you think people I mean there's people that are moving from other countries to here as well right yeah but yeah we have a lot of people from in Nairobi in Kenya you'll find people from all over all over the world and they are going just about their business without anybody interfering with them unless you cross somebody's line okay when you'll be in trouble but if you're doing like you have a lot of uh people from Rwanda okay and you know the way people praise Rwanda with their president I wonder why these ones who are here they say that Kenya is a very good country then um they're doing their businesses here right if you walk around maybe you will see some boys selling this brown nuts okay fried ground nuts okay in the evening some of them have those uh they sell coffee oh okay some donuts okay they are from Rwanda oh okay you find ugandans there are very many here okay Nigerians this is like their home I feel like everywhere is nigerian's home besides their own home somalies they have many here you might think that they um but nobody bothers people yeah as long as you don't cause any problems then you're fine okay that's good [Music] once [Music] [Music] this is the matatu yeah [Music] long time ago in my tattoos were introduced three Shillings okay okay so okay so now foreign [Music] guys so I have finally made it to Nairobi properly I am so exhausted got to Nairobi super early so because of that our apartment isn't ready yet and our host was kind enough to put us in this one temporarily until the one that we're meant to stay in is ready because listen I need a nap um we left Ghana at 10 o'clock at night time and I haven't really slept so you can imagine how I'm feeling anyways I'm rambling first impressions of Kenya for some reason it reminds me of the UK um the roads the gloomy weather on this day in particular apparently the weather is on and off it's meant to be really summery and warm but it's been a bit gloomy and cold so that's what I'm getting at the moment I'm getting London Vibes but once you get into the city center which is like West Westlands I think that's where we're staying then it looks like a different place but when you leave the airport definitely a second impression the customer service is actually really good so far I've been to two places so that the Airbnb were actually meant to say ah and then this temporary one the security everybody has been super nice and even the driver that brought us he was talking to a few people on the road like obviously he doesn't know them and they all seem so pleasant like it's so the niceness is so obvious you know people are like super super nice so yeah I'm going to have a nap and I'll see you guys later I have to stick to tradition that's exhausted as I am I've just made it to my Airbnb I need to give you a quick tour of it so it's like a studio really very spacious the kitchen is right here I've got a washer I've got a fridge a cooktop all the basics I've been microwave it's nice and um the TV right here is a nice view outside there's clothes on the dryer what the hell that is so Random I know they have a pool here as well I'll show you that later there's this massive culture that doubles as a vet so oh it's hot this is the bedroom they've used this like incense or something I don't really like it smells like cinnamon anyway area which I'm not gonna use because I'm in here a few days and then I get like a view of some old really high up buildings here as well but there's no balcony here and then the toilet is right across from me there's a shower toilet sink it's massive as you can see I really like it actually we're here for three nights yeah three nights so there's a door here I don't know what that means to so if I get this a test and I don't want them to use my bathroom I can use this one one thing I've noticed about Kenya so far is all the bathrooms have the days as well so that's handy you know I don't know if there's a lot of Muslims here but but anyway so that's the tour of my um one bedroom apartment that I'm gonna be in in Nairobi let me show you the balcony spacious balcony I'll probably have a cup of tea here in the mornings before I settle for my day enjoy the peace and quiet hey guys it's me again I'm all freshened up now um I'm heading to kill Mani so I'm going to show you what kill money looks like today looks like a lot of a lot of the people that are migrating to Kenya live around that area so it'll be interesting to see what that looks like [Music] [Music] thank you foreign [Music] [Music] oh this road oh really okay what's this road called oyaki Highway oh okay we're on the overall Highway there's a lot of traffic I noticed um in the parts of Nairobi we're driving from there's a lot of sidewalks so they've actually made a space for people to walk and stuff which is nice considering how busy it is the crazy driving I think it's everywhere I think here as well they're a little bit yeah aggressive just like in Ghana they have policemen directing traffic as well just like we haven't done [Music] [Music] thank you [Music] [Music] we're driving through stay House Road the homes here are stunning apparently it's all like government officials we drove past the former president's home it's really nice thank you very much okay thank you now next time we will have change yes that's right so I'm in kyomani now see how busy the roads are I've been someone recommended a restaurant called Mama nilishi I can see the sign there we're gonna go try their food Ryan is a local Sport and the food is really good oh this one here oh okay I'm so excited to try the food we are going to Mama Nishi we ordered some rice and beef juice I think and I wanted to try it from Japanese that's what we're having hopefully it's good I've had very good things about it I feel very local being here um what's another first impression of Kenya that I realized I think the filming here on the roads and stuff like that is a little bit easier because I don't feel like I'm being fed up but I'm also in a very central part of Nairobi so I guess people are probably when we used to cameras this is like rice and stew she guess that's what it is you know I feel like this is too spicy it's not spicy at all they're actually like zero chili in this oh my God now this is good it's very well spiced let me try the juice this is delicious I'll add a little more chili if I had two last night I bought myself some really nice to finish of dinner can you see the vapor from the Misty coming off it it's so good so so comforting yep thank you how much is that banana [Music] this one was 14. okay no problem thank you thank you I'm holding on to my phone for dear life but I wanted to let you know I've noticed there's a lot of old cars in Kenya I haven't seen as many fancy cars even though we're in the city center it's mainly like older cars yeah another first impression of Nairobi is I haven't seen any dirt road since being here zero all the roads I've had all the roots are done that's nice very nice we're setting up m-pesa it's a convenience way of spending money and paying for things also even though we're here for a short time again we've set up in person now and pasta has like mobile money it's very easy to set up it's just like but you need it you really do even if you're here for a few days just get it it makes things so much more convenient everybody will ask if you have a person no matter where you go drivers food places all those places for us [Music] okay all right I'm heading back to Sky nest because I'm tired I need to go to bed we're leaving kilimani now [Music] this is my view at night guys I don't know if you can see it but it's quite nice like there's a lot of lights all around here lots of traffic too it's just a little bit cold that's it tired is an understanding right now but I've been so impressed with Kenya so far I've been impressed with the people we're just the way it looks even on our way home there was so much to see once it got dark like with the lights and everything we're going to show you probably tomorrow tomorrow we'll go out at night and show you what it looks like at night but we're gonna end the day today we need to sleep off this like jet lag I'm tired so I hope you guys have enjoyed my first impressions of Kenya and I hope you are looking forward to seeing the rest of Kenya with me I am so excited I love being here and I can't wait to see what more it has to offer don't forget to follow your Blissful now life is short follow your bliss follow your bliss take care guys I'll see you in the next one bye
