welcome back everyone to Blackthorne Prada I'm Noah now there are a couple of youtubers I really enjoy watching and learning from it's always a joy to see that Brad keys are Marc Brown for example have uploaded a new video and his damn inspiring seeing the progress indie developer thin matrix makes on his game of Quillin Hawks as I really felt like creating something around content creators who've inspired me and helped me on my game creation journey initially I thought I would make a combat style game between these cool people like Marc Brown versus extra credits or practice versus iku I'm already busy working on some other game project and so I decided I would instead relax and have fun simply creating a animated game character version of a few of my top youtubers so to start off I got to work on a fantasy style psyche game character psych who is a really cool dude who makes videos focused on a unity and level designer he also recently became unities evangelist meaning they you know makes tutorials for the unity website and YouTube channel I began sketching my game character version of psycho in Photoshop keeping things very rough and messy at this point I was just trying to come up with visual ideas or the fantasy psyche who look like a powerful wizards and evil Goblin in the end I settled on him becoming a warrior elf wielding a long sword and shields obviously I try to make my psycho character design looks somewhat like the real Sam with for example the hairstyle you also know is that the shield is an elongated version of the unity logo with the rough sketch complete I began the inking phase this is where I go over all the rough sketchy lines and make them smooth clean and crisp since I've planned on animating the character in unity I made sure to draw each body part I wish to move independently on a separate layer so I could easily slice things up inside of the sprite editor in unity then came colors again I made sure to give my warrior L Sam a piece same hair color as the real deal initially the character will be dressed in green to really sell that L tybo but then taking a look at psych whose YouTube page more precisely his logo I figured it would be more interesting if I respected his brand's color and added them to his light-armored and it does look pretty cool and unique in my opinion once that was done I separated all the body parts on a new photo file and exported that inside of unity I could then easily slice those inside of the sprite editor and assemble everything in the scene view now comes the time for some cool animations using unities animation timeline I brought psycho the warrior elf to life with a determined and dynamic idle animation I made everything look very cartoony and exaggerator's from the alert enormous eyes to the extreme squash and stretch in his every movement lastly I added some simple little lighting effects using soft shapes beams of sunlight streaming in from the top-left corner of the screen I also added some bloom using unities post-processing effects to make everything pop outs more and of course I created a simple little particle system to add yet again it we bit more life and movement to the Cena so all in all I'm really happy with how psycho turned out Nick stop I made brackets brackets has really helped me a lot getting started with the game development in unity mr. Gerald are top-notch quality and his purple clean brand always inspired me so I thought that could be many times I had seen the epic Warcraft poster of the Lich King hanging on Rocky's wall and squeezed into his videos as I was decided I would turn rakija sinister Lich King was the final sketch complete I can began inking the character as you can see I went straight more wizard like villain rather than a broad undead warrior king like in war crafts for colors it was a no brainer loads and loads of blues and purples blue to sell that feeling of colds death frost and magic while purple was used so people could more easily recognize the brackets universe behind the Reds gleaming eyes plus purple is sought a sinister villain like color of course even Brack is the Dark Wizard had to smile like the real Bacchus and you'll noticed a glowing ominous unity logo is hovering above his left hands and I was able to squeeze the bracket logo as well right here then I animated the sinister and cruel brackets I also made a little blue fire that would surround the unity logo and make everything look a bit more magical and dangerous lastly I added some soft blue shapes for lighting I made a simple snore fakes as well has got his eyes glowing a fierce missing red thanks for tuning in and friends with two cool characters up and running I began work on my next creation aid read thin matrix the matrix aka carl is an indie game developer and runs a cool youtube channel focused primarily on devlog style videos he's been working for a few years on an awesome-looking game called Aquila NOx which is actually launching on Steam this Friday I wish Carl the best of life for that following him on his journey as should be very inspiring and motivating now since this game is all about nature animals and ecosystems I thought it very fitting that Carlin self should become a caring and calm forest raid so once the serene skin matrix sketch completes I took my time inking and then added some color as you can see I also drew two animals a fox and wolf both of them in that cool low poly our style which is used in Aquila NOx unlike for the two previous cultures it was then time to animate Carl and his two familiars using unities timeline simply scaling rotating and moving the various body parts until it felt right so now if you're wondering how to animate such game characters or want to learn more about drawing and coloring definitely have a look at my game our playlist on YouTube and or look at the new course I be with my brother which brings you through the process of creasing a whole game from scratch from making the game are for various enemies a monstrous boss and player character to programming the AI and creating paschal effects and even with that said here's the final spin matrix drink concern coming up next on my list was a Marc Brown host of some amazing YouTube such as game makers toolkits boskie's and designing for disabilities mark Browns content is always so insightful and inspiring he talks about the ins and outs of game design explaining why certain games are awesome and others less so basically he constructs and analyzes games which is why I turned him into a smart sapphire robots engineer explaining to some invisible audience not the design behind games but the inner workings of his killer robot creation various arrows popping up on the screen with titles of a few of his videos except this time there used to show up various parts of his neck this was probably the toughest answer for me to rig and animate be made up of a dozen different sprites that then had to be assembled and moved around mark himself was simple enough brought to life with a basic up-and-down idle animation well for the neck I animated small rotating cogs to make up for the lack of movements in his upper body as well as a buzzing shaky head and then made the writing pop up on the screen and small intervals of time' so yeah mark was tough but he was also a lot fun to create and animates hi hello and to wrap up this transforming youtubers into game characters video I made a serene wizard like Sebastian lag I've always been really impressed by his programming skills and awesome behind the scenes videos Sebastian is the developer behind a number of really cool every complex tutorial series such as the procedural planet generation course at first I was going to make a half robot half human Sebastian his robot sight illustrating his in my opinion incredibly powerful coding abilities but I didn't really like the design that much so watching a few of his videos again I came up with the idea I would end up bringing to life and intelligence and council Bastion lag wizard sitting on a planet we can guess was made by magic it's also a small link in the direction of his latest series all about creating procedural worlds at one point the plan I was brought eating around all the time but that didn't look very good so I kept things simple and surrounded it with small industry numbers to keep things in that programming universe Sebastian helps me get into with his tutorials kind of look like twinkling stars and so here's the final results and that's it's that five youtubers turned into fantasy / sighs I guess I hope you enjoyed the video and would love to know what is your personal favorite character design also tell me who you think would win the mighty warrior elf or these sinister undead Wizards the wised read or mark and his killer mech I had a huge amount of fun making this video I would love to make more of this style with a bunch of other awesome youtubers who inspire me like noclip extra credits or even gamed an underground heck it would be cool if I made a game character version of myself so yeah let me know if you would like to see more perhaps also suggest some of your favorite youtubers you would like to see me transform into a mighty hero or cruel monster maybe you don't approve of me mutating Rocky's into an undead wizards and I prefer them as a charming superhero let me know in the comments with that said thanks so much for watching remember to hit the like and subscribe buttons if you enjoyed the content it's really encouraging and still appreciators also here's a big thank you to these awesome people for supporting me and my channel financially by patreon a particular josette thanks so much man and your brother who by the way streams loads of Game Jam games or on Twitch and provides top-notch quality feedback okay stay tuned have a great day Cheers [Music] [Applause] [Music]
