Oh, there they are. I see them. Hey, there. Hey. What's up? Gabby and Foster? It looks like the history of this land here. My grandparents bought the property about 60 years ago for $3,000. 3000? Yeah, it's kind of been in the family ever since. I've lived here my whole life. We're going to end up being right next door to my parents. So why are you guys finally deciding to get this dream home started? And why do you need it done in 100 days? We've always wanted to build. We kind of decided now that we have a six month old baby, Grayson, we're hoping to make this a forever thing for our family. We're in a three bedroom with his parents, and it's not a very big house. Our roommates, my dad and my mom. Dressers are in the hallway. This is our bedroom where Grayson and Foster and Gabby sleep. We appreciate them very much, but I feel like having our own space for our family that we're growing is really important to us. Let's check out where the house is going to go. We'll have to do a little track. Let's go. You guys did a great job clearing this lot so far. Still got a lot more clearing to do. We're getting. There. The size of fully cleared lot. What are you looking for in your dream home? So we're thinking about a four bedroom, three bath. He works from home right now, so one of the bedrooms can definitely be an office. In the meantime, until we have baby two and three. All right. Planning for the future. That's right. So what are we thinking as far as, like, the aesthetics, the style of the house. So I definitely know we want a farmhouse. That's kind of something I've wanted for a long time, regardless of where we were going to build. My biggest thing is the kitchen. I do all the cooking for us. Very blessed. Thankful for that. I guess you're lucky. So the kitchen has to be perfect. So how much does that leave us to build you your dream home? So our budget is 450,000. Okay, so we've got an idea of your style, which is great, but we got to figure out the kitchen and the floor plan if we're going to get this thing done in 100 days. I'm looking forward to this one, guys. Perfect. It's going to be a lot of fun. Today I'm meeting with Gabriela and Foster for our inspiration tours. They've expressed that they really like a farmhouse style, but how those rooms are going to be pieced together is what we need to figure out today. So I really love to get your thoughts on this house. I like the siding. The siding looks really, really good. You know, obviously it's blue. So, you know, maybe not a blue house. Do you kind of have a color palette in your mind? So I was thinking the white to really look farmhouse when you pull up, you know it's farmhouse. Yeah. That's definitely your traditional farmhouse. Now that we've nailed down the exterior, let's head inside and figure out the interior layout and kitchen. Let's check out this floor plan. So I actually have a few emotions about this. Oh please tell. I do like the dark floors. It is. Nice. The darker doesn't look as dirty as a lighter would. Yes, I think if it was one big area, be able to. Walk through that front door and be on one big open space. Okay, that's great input you guys. So we've got some more to check out. So follow me. I brought you to this space because there is a lot of elements in here that are true to a farmhouse. What do you think about the layout of this kitchen? Do you want me to just go? What are you. Thinking? This pillar is, like, kind of right in the middle. I'm not too big fan of it, so it feels a little awkward with the seating being right next to the stove. The island. It's nice, but it's just way too small. Only having 2 or 3 people on the other side. We usually have a lot more people here. Oh, how many people are we thinking? Look at her. She's like, maybe like 20. Yeah, something like that. Well, she's. Got a bigger family of at least eight coming over all the time. And all our friends are 8 to 10 people. So what are you thinking, foster? I do like it. There's a lot more space. Plus, we're right in the living room. So this is more your vibe as far as, like, how the layout should look? Yes, but I still feel like it's not enough seating wise. I was for sure that this massive island would be big enough for what they're looking for, and apparently it's not. This is the biggest island I could find. The kitchen is a very important room to foster. I really thought they were going to love the size of the island. I'm just wanting to make sure it doesn't obstruct the way that you move around in the kitchen, right? It's our forever home, so I need it to be perfect. It's it's a must. So we may have to get creative and maybe we utilize the sides of the island. I don't know if you're opposed to that, because we could almost do something almost like hibachi style. I think that sounds really reasonable. It would look a little better and not so bulky in the middle of the room. I agree, and like hibachi style, I'd like the range to be on the island. Oh, okay. That's one of the things when building custom, we can do whatever we need to do to make this work for this family, but if you do that, then you're going to basically have the hood, which may eliminate light fixtures. I'm okay with that as long as she is. It's pretty bold. This is your main room the. So I think I'd be okay with that too. Oh my gosh Grayson. So today we're at Gabby and Foster's dream. Lots. We're going to reveal their house plans to them and hope they love it. Okay, so right off the bat, we knew that you really like farmhouse style. We're going. Do board and batten on the outside for the exterior. We're going to do cedar accents for your front porch. Grayson, you good with that? I know you. Wanted to do a two story. It's going to leave you with a lot of green area. So you guys are still going to have plenty of yard. That's the approval. That's the approval. I think you're really going to like the layout of the inside. So why don't we head in? When you walk in the front door you basically have an open area. So essentially you can see the lake right from the front door. You guys did so much work clearing this lot. You might as well get a good view of it right? I agree, we also wanted to make sure that you guys had an exceptionally large kitchen with lots of storage, because foster is going to be cooking the meals. And I'm telling you what you are going to love. This kitchen island is like, I'm not even kidding. Super unique, super unique. We have enough seating for Brian and I to come over for dinner. Plus your entire family. That's amazing. That's perfect. That's exactly what we're looking for. Yes. Awesome. So why don't we head on upstairs? My only thing is, I think I want some extra storage downstairs. What if you did the storage, like, underneath the staircase? That'd be an easy change and would give him quite a bit of storage right there in the middle of the house. I think that would. Be really good. I think that could work. So when you go upstairs, we tucked away two bedrooms on one side, one kind of in the middle, and then also have like this bonus loft. Yes. So you can kind of have that play area for him. That way you can keep the living room downstairs. As clean as we possibly can. That's right. No promises. Then to take advantage of that second story view, we're going to give you guys a balcony overlooking the lake. After you come in from that balcony, we're going to head on over to Mommy and Daddy's main suite. That's going to be a little separated from your bedroom so that they can have privacy and quiet time. He's good with that so far. Perfect. I love it so much. This house is going to have a four bedroom, three bath, two stories, 2200ft². And we're going to keep it in that budget of 450,000. We're going to spend $415,000 on the build, which will leave us $35,000 for our furnishings, special projects and landscaping. He's going to park it here and then just unload it. So today's day. One groundbreaking day. Today's a huge day for Gabby and Foster's future. Step one. The sun is starting to rise. We got an early start this morning. Only way we get them done in 100 days is to milk every ounce of daylight out of each day. Standing at this slab, it's just incredible to remember what this lot used to look like. I mean, it was piled with Foster's dad's collectibles, and now you can actually see the lake from here. So now that we're moving here, this house should go up super quick with Gabby and Foster's build. We're actually using prefab steel walls instead of cinderblock. It's just as strong, but assembles much faster. The steel frame walls, they're prefabbed offsite, and they just got dropped off today. So once we're done with this slab pour, we're ready to start framing in like two days. Oh my gosh. Yep. I'm at Gaby and Foster's right now where I'm assessing the damage from where a car crashed through the construction site late last night. Where we live is a nice tight corner that it gets really dark at night. Holy smokes guys. Wow. And we're literally just about to start framing here in the next couple of days. We can't use any of this, right? The one below us. And. These are all made offsite and they're custom made for this house. Perfect size. And I don't know which ones we'll be able to save. My biggest oh my gosh. My biggest concern is the plumbing here I can see look when I push this back there's water actually coming out of this pipe right here. Oh my gosh. Yep. I mean we're going to have to do a pressure test on this. If there's a leak in this, we're going to have to we're going to have to rip up this slab, redo the plumbing and pour the slab again. We're getting the clothes on the inside with the drywall siding on the outside. So by the end of today, Gabby and Foster's dream home should be fully clothed. You'll not be able to see through the walls anymore. So I'm almost done with this room. And then we'll move upstairs. It's amazing how far we've come from the car accident. That feels like such a long time ago. But it really wasn't. We we got back on track super quick and 100 days is approaching, but we're going to hit this time frame. All right, you guys, today I'm meeting with Gabriella and Foster in hopes that we can finally pick a countertop for them. So during our design meeting, I know you guys didn't fall in love with anything. And I really want you guys to fall in love with the countertop you choose because your island is going to be a showstopper. I love that one. It's not too busy, but there's enough in it. I think this is the one. I think. This is the one that we should go. With. I love this, it's so clean, it's subtle. It's going to look beautiful on the island. But my only concern, I have to be honest, is the floor that you guys chose is a very dramatic, dark floor. I do like the dark floors. It is. Nice. The darker doesn't look as dirty as a lighter would. So if you have that floor with the white cabinets and now the white countertop, I like contrast, but I think that might actually be too much contrast. If we choose this countertop, we might need to re choose your floor. Ultimately, this is their dream home and I want them to make all the choices. However, sometimes when you're picking samples and they're on separate days, it's really hard to see the whole picture. I mean, I understand the contrast thing, but I really love those floors and I'm just newly loving this countertop, so I know. Believe me, I don't like changing either because we're on a very tight schedule, but I also don't want the room to not be exactly what you envision. It might actually clash a little bit with the floors. Mika is obviously the expert, so she knows best we. Can get the flooring sample that you chose, kind of line it up, see what you think, but then I might just sprinkle in a couple more options because I do think if we pick something that might be just a teeny bit lighter or maybe have variation of color, it'll be a little easier to tie in to this countertop and it won't be so drastic. Okay. Fair, fair. I'm a little worried. You know, 100 days isn't very long and having to keep changing things. It's stressful finding the right countertop. That's a big one. So feel like we have accomplished a mission today. We have. And we'll just double check on the flooring, okay? Okay. All right. Cool. Mika, come control the traffic. So today we're at Gabby and Foster's and there is a lot going on. Controlled chaos is what it is. We have our painters doing final touches. We've got landscaping going in. This wheelbarrow was found in the yard. We repainted it and we want to incorporate this in the landscape. So you guys think you can help? We've got multiple projects going on. Yeah, sure. Countertops being delivered and installed. Countertops. Look at this. I cannot wait to see this countertop and how it ties into the kitchen, the floors, the entire space. I actually have an idea and other reasoning for being here, I knew it. So, you know, in their floor plan, Gabby really wanted to have storage under the stairs, which we did accommodate. But, you know, it would be kind of cool to elevate that storage under the stairs a little bit. Show me what you're thinking because we are running out of time. Check it. Out. All right. So here we got our storage. To me this is perfect. But if I start just throwing stuff in here, it's going to actually just be a hot mess. You mean, like our storage closet? Exactly. I do want to add some drawers here. Maybe some hooks. I just want to make life easier for them. This is still kind of a maybe. It's a maybe. I don't like that. It's a what? It's a yes. That's confirmed. Right? Yes. All right. You just come out. How's it coming on this special project? Micah had the great last minute idea of installing drawers at the back end of the stairs, which give him a ton of storage. We're going to make it usable and keep them organized. I want this play area to be like a little hangout spot. We actually have two special projects for Gabriella and Foster. That landing when you walk up the stairs was just kind of empty space. I really wanted to create a play room, make it cozy, kid friendly, comfortable. This is going to be a really cool hangout spot where Gabby and Foster can hang out with Grayson. All his toys and accessories up here, so downstairs can be more formal and more organized. The sun is setting on day 99. Look how beautiful this house is. Can't believe this day is finally here. We finally get to go inside. There they. Are. What's up? Today's the day, guys. It is. Is this what you envisioned? This is exactly what I envisioned. There's no doubt about it. It is farmhouse, which is perfect. Yeah. This is amazing. This is what my dream home looks like. Are you ready? I'm ready. Come on. After you. Oh, yeah. You go first. Welcome home. Wow, this is amazing. That kitchen though. Does he approve? This is awesome. I couldn't have asked for anything more. So why don't you get on stage where you're going to be cooking? Because this whole kitchen was designed around you. I love it. You think this is big enough? I think it might be big enough. I love how we don't have any unnecessary walls. Just the whole big living space so that we can all be together. And like, the space just kind of all ties in together. Every square foot in this house was well thought out, including what we did under the stairs. So let's go venture. Walk this. Way. We know that you wanted to put some storage underneath the stairs, but check out what we did for you. I love this. Wow, this is awesome. Look. They're cool. They're both in there. Whoa. It's like another room. The whole point of this storage was like to hide Grayson's toys. But I think this is going to be more like the parent hideaway. Come on, guys. That's so much more to see. That's true. Let's do it. Four bedrooms. Go check out upstairs. Oh my goodness. Oh, we got a lot of rooms to see up here. Oh, man. Oh, cute. So you think you'll have sweet dreams in here? That's the plan. I hope. So. Get some sleep. So this is just bedroom number one. Why don't we go check out the other ones? This is really cute. So this is definitely a spare bedroom. Since we only have the one baby, I. Know that you want to expand that family. We want to have space to kind of grow. But you guys also really wanted, like a hangout spot on the second floor. Why don't we show you what we made for you? The surprises continue. I love it. This is amazing.
