the tv how it looks like art wait what oh yeah that's a tv [Music] hey i'm anna page you may know me from instagram or tick tock welcome to my upper east side apartment [Music] this is our foyer um we this building was built over 100 years old and sometime around the 70s they put up a huge mirrored wall right here so we were able to finagle it and cover it make it a little bit more our style i found these prints at a flea market and they are of paris and i love them and then just wanted to add a really simple round table to have a nice little entry so right off the foyer we have our living room i don't know if you guys saw the tick tock but it looked pretty much nothing like this when we first moved in but it was the first space that i had a really clear vision for the fireplace is over a hundred years old and i really wanted to pull from that with the design of everything we added some character back in with wall molding and then the chandelier is definitely my favorite part of the living room right when i walked in i wanted something very dramatic to be the center of attention and i think we accomplished that pretty well it was hilarious trying to hang this though because it's super heavy my dad was helping us but it means so much to me because my dad passed away a couple months later and so every time i see it it reminds me of him [Music] i'm 510 in heels so just for reference of how massive it is it was obviously the thing i loved first about the apartment because it just adds so much character and because of the tone of the wood i wanted to pull in some of that color so that's why we have accents of rust and red and that kind of stuff throughout this space [Music] there's definitely a lot going on in this space i would consider myself a maximalist but i think i love the stories behind all the pieces that i choose to put in my home i love for them to have a meaning and there are so many cool pieces like even just on my coffee table this is a really cool magnifying glass that i found at an antique store in the west village i also have this cigar tray and it's an airmed cigar tray actually the first paid collaboration i ever had for my business the owner gifted this to me so it's a really special piece and it reminds me of all the work i've done in new york and even before that [Music] so this is a gallery wall i think it adds so much interest this is a huge wall so i wanted to do something like it this is actually our tv it's made to hang and look like art when it's not obviously displaying a show um this is a piece of vintage art that i found when we were antique shopping in georgia with my in-laws and i somehow figured out how to pack it in a suitcase to bring back to new york i thought it was a really cool ship i like to tell people this is my grandfather it's not but no one has to know that we'll just keep that between me and you and then this box i love it was actually my dad's cigar box so we have a bunch of his cool cigars in there but it's a really pretty piece very cool you have a lot of candles so many candles because that's how you my husband likes to call me the vibes are you know so we just gotta keep these so candles is how you do that it smells amazing creates a really nice vibe it's a must so in the work from home era we had to come up with a couple of places for my husband and i to keep working um this was actually a closet that is obviously off the living room the thing that really bugged me about it is that there was a window in there so we lost a lot of natural light so i wanted to open it up get that natural light back and this was like the perfect sized desk that was just going to be facing a wall anyway so we decided to put it in here paint it a dark moody green and call it a day and you get a view from it so that's nice too so here we have the bathroom this way [Music] and then right here the goal eventually is to have kind of a gallery with just meaningful photos filling this whole little atrium that we have right here and then right through here we have the main bedroom [Music] all right this is our main bedroom it is also where i work um this little corner kind of makes me feel like sarah there jessica parker a little bit when i can sit here and like write blog posts i actually found this for 50 on facebook marketplace there are some gems on there the unfortunate part is that i didn't think to ask about whether it was a walk up or not and it was like six floors and then an additional two sets of stairs to get into the building so my husband wasn't super happy about that one but i think she's worth it [Music] the other favorite piece in my bedroom is this piece of art which i get asked about all the time i found this for like forty dollars at the chelsea flea market and it is huge and when he told me it was only gonna be forty dollars i like threw cash and ran because i was like surely that's an accident the colors are perfect for the color scheme we already had going in the bedroom so it's one of my favorite pieces [Music] this in here is our second bedroom we wanted to find a place that we could be in for a long time we're really thankful to have a second bedroom especially in nyc right now it's a guest bedroom for family because personally before i lived in new york i would have loved to have a free place to stay so one day we want to be able to offer it up to people but eventually down the road we'll also make it into a nursery we plan to be in this apartment for a long time which is another way we justified doing a lot to a rental let's be honest this is the most important part of the apartment this is banks he's our three-year-old maltese poodle and he is my little child as of right now we're gonna go into the kitchen next which i personally think is the biggest transformation of the entire apartment also where we spent the most time on [Music] i have somewhat of an addiction to gallery walls as you can see this is one of my favorites the first one that i curated a few pieces that i love from it is this matches the ship that was over the tv we have a wedding picture a print from paris that new yorker print i bought from a guy who was selling them outside of the met and then this is my personal favorite part because as i was putting this whole gallery wall together i remembered that i found this at an antique store and it fit so perfectly over the outlet it's meant to be so as you can see it's very dark and moody cozy which is what i wanted out of this kitchen we actually added these tiles in here so underneath this was just a dark gray plain tile we wanted to add a lot of character back in we have our coffee station this is where i stand and come alive every morning as i pour my coffee did some open shelves for more storage and it is by far one of my favorite spaces in the apartment if you know you know the real luxury of a new york city apartment is having a dishwasher and a washer and dryer we're very very thankful to have both of those things we moved from the south so those might have been non-negotiables for us we have a good amount of cabinet space and then we have these windows right here that just peer into our neighbor's apartments which is another very new york thing we decided to hang up some art using command strips so it gives us a touch of privacy and that is pretty much it this is the place well nice first off thanks for letting us to your apartment yeah what's one thing you wish you would have known before you moved to new york city storage is not your friend utilize every single place that you can under the bed in the closet just utilize everything but also there are ways to be practical and pretty which i had to learn because just the functional things were not working for me so utilize every single corner of every single closet space under the bed anything you can why the upper east side if you don't mind me asking when we first moved to new york we lived downtown we were on the 41st floor it was a high-rise building and it was really cool to experience for about a year i realized pretty quickly that my heart belonged in a charming neighborhood like the upper east side with a lot of character what's like one of your go-to spots here in the upper east side oh there are so many good ones one of my favorites on the upper east side is a bakery called william greenberg they have the best black and whites in the city we should totally go you down let's do [Music] it [Music] the black and white this is a bold statement but they're the best in new york city if i do say so myself yeah thank you guys so much for coming to see our upper east side apartment follow along on instagram anna w page and the pageedit.com [Music] you
