tonight we are exploring the popular gaslamp quarter here in san diego now we're here on a friday night around six o'clock right behind me is the famous gaslamp quarter sign and we're gonna check out the different bars restaurants hotels they have between fourth fifth and sixth which is what i consider the main gas lamp quarter here in san diego so if you guys are discovering me for the first time let's check out the gas stamp corridor here in san diego where the gas lamp sign is it's off of fifth the famous hard rock hotel which has a great pool party post pandemic of course is the hard drop so that's great right across the street is lou and mickey's which is a famous pub slash restaurant here in san diego so this part of the street is closed and they have a lot of outdoor seating set up right here is mary jane's and then you got the old spaghetti factory right here that has tons of outdoor seating around the corner here and then the tuscana has a really nice formal dining i wonder if they have to take this down every night i bet they do so this is the old spaghetti factory entrance and right there on the corner is a bunch of outdoor dining over this way you got rockin baja lobster coastal cantina and if you're looking for expensive souvenirs this is where they'll get you it's the gaslamp garage it's also union kitchen and tap which is a nice bar and restaurant to hang out at they got plexiglass dividers and a lot of outdoor seating as well so it's really cool to just walk down the street and not have to worry about cars passing by and just vlog the various restaurants that are open on a friday night it's the brunch brunswig drug company established in 1888 there's a jewelry store below it and a wine bank and some more san diego souvenirs this is the huntress steak and whiskey society and the reason why gaslamp quarter is called gaslamp because of these beautiful gas lamps that are all around fourth fifth and sixth street [Music] as we go up this a lot more dining here there's a cvs if you need to pop in there's a lot of hotels around here the marriott is around here the omni and a hilton so and other smaller boutique hotels so if you're staying here in gaslamp you can definitely find a lot of hotels this is the provisional restaurant and lionfish which a lot of people have talked about is a really good spot if you guys haven't checked out lionfish and this is a area where they have some stores reebok it's sugar the quick silver here and the skechers post pandemic a ton of clubs are surrounded around here omnia is a big club and there's so many more right across the way is a hotel called hotel z nice little chic hotel and that building right there is omnia this is one of the bigger clubs in san diego this right here is grassland pizza if you need late night pizza this is the spot right here this right here is a very popular restaurant it's called rustic root they have a nice upstairs patio great drinks i love this place this is the field this is an irish club that's really popular i've spent a couple new year's eves here and definitely say i may or may not have fallen asleep in one of the bathroom stalls havana el chingon these are all new right here they got a cigar and wine bar and right here on the corner is a place called salt water that's right here san diego trading company next to another white coat now we're headed into the more touristy part well i mean all the gas time is pretty touristy but this is where all the bars where they'll up charge and charge you cover fees and all that this is the area right here barley match is a fun bar but they do charge you after a certain time but this is barley match they let all the ladies in for free the guys got to pay 10 bucks after 11. this place is called american junkie we got a lot more road width to use for outdoor dining this right here is the famous gira deli and you'd recognize this from san francisco but there's a huge ghirardelli ice cream and chocolate shop here in san diego usually they have outdoor seating but it looks like they uh it even looks like they remodeled inside let's let's check this out [Music] we have all the nice hot fudge sundaes and oh man if i can get some frozen hot chocolate right now that looks delicious no frozen hot chocolate for me because i just had some glue vine that's not gonna mix well growing up this was one of the first urban outfitters in san diego and i used to drive all the way to downtown just to check out urban outfitters and look at this glass it's always been like this but i always think that they broke it but maybe they have the ears never change it or it might be decoration so this area 110 tourist touristy part this right here is a whiskey grill [Applause] this is another place that will upcharge you for cover fees this right here is the sugar factory and upstairs they actually have a nice rooftop where i've gone to a couple of comic-con events so we're reaching the end of the gaslamp quarter this is definitely all the tourist restaurants that i will say to avoid because they're a little expensive i mean if you want to check it out sometimes they have happy hour deals but i tend to go to places more in the east village to eat this right here is the pen hotel this place obviously isn't open but the tipsy crow is a really cool boar if you go inside i really like the ambiance in there this right here is usually hopkins patrick's yeah club and it's really sad to see a lot of these businesses that usually are hustling and bustling just closed right now it's really sad that's why i say support local businesses if you can and if they have takeout order take out look at this beatles mural elvis right there janet right across the street the old balboa theater which leads into horton plaza which used to be a big shopping destination here in san diego now they're turning it into a tech campus in a tech community so they're building it right now so that's why they have it all fenced off now we're coming up to the border of where i feel the gas lamp quarter ends and this is where my one of my favorite brazilian restaurants is it's called ray de gados so ray de gado's is one of my favorite brazilian steakhouses and they do have outdoor street dining [Music] they have great lunch specials over here i love radagada now we're on this uh i believe this is g street there's a former club here called a.d right across the street now it's closed and boarded up it's really sad that was a big bar here in san diego and star bar this is the authentic auntie bar where all the filipino aunties serve you cheap alcohol and a lot of people go here to pregame because it's a dive and you can get really cheap alcohol and if you flirt with the aunties they hook you up with shots and there's no joke either those aunties really do hook you up with jameson shots if you're really nice to them if you guys are in the magic the magic shop san diego right now we are on fort there's really not much going on here they do have some cool old buildings some theaters so it's a really nice place to go check out but there's really not that much foot traffic over here so you see a lot more homeless roaming about look at this paris hotel definitely not in paris i'll tell you that this is a live music joint right here a tin roof you know what's funny i could have brought blue flash here and skated it around instead of walking but too late now oh man i used to take my friends from out of town over here to the shout house it's a dueling piano bar but it's closed down right across the street here on fourth and market is the funky garcias at sun cafe one of my good friend sido he used to actually dj over there this right across the street is a popular happy hour spot and mexican food la puerta and las jadas i believe lebron james has even dined here in the past this is a great place for flautas and some sangria there's a lot of gas lamp history right here there's la puerta all right next door is los hotes now if you're looking for some hole in the wall mexican el cabron homes see this guy's got the blue flash his version of it now there's an old theater right here this is the horton grand theater and i've actually gone to a couple of comic-con panels that they've had here in the past this area right here across the street used to be flux which was a hopping club now not anymore and this is the haunted part of gaslamp this is the gaslamp museum look at this old house right in the middle of all these older buildings other hotels you can check out are places like the pendry hotel salomar and the marriott here if you want to look for hotels in the gaslamp area that is jay on sixth and up there is a really nice swimming pool and bar this right here on six is the famous water drill nice dining area near the ballpark once you pass six and you hit places like bubs i consider that east village so we're just sticking with gaslamp there's also residents in here if you guys are looking for a breakfast place broken yolk is a nice place to go for breakfast looking for greek food greek fusion try mess another good spot is moonshine flats which is like a country bar during more normal times they have pretty fun bar games there where you can play uh corn hole and other really cool games over there so right on the border of gaslamp and the east village is this parking lot where i parked my car and just down the way this petco park but this marriot i've stayed at this marriott before and it's a nice marriott i definitely recommend it because it's in a nice quiet area and central to east village and the gas lamp and this place is called crunch time looking for some ice cream desserts pretty good stuff all right jaycationer so that will do it here from the gaslamp quarter fourth fifth and sixth avenue i hope you guys enjoyed the little tour of the restaurants bars the hotels and a few stores and yeah gaslamp is a hop-in place usually when the
