Top Nazis "Everyday" Voices

[Music] one of my most popular videos that i made a couple of years ago is called hitler's everyday voice in it i discovered examples of hitler speaking in a normal even conversational tone in direct variance to the way he is normally presented the examples of fascinating and important historical fragments so i thought i'd apply the same methods to some of the other top nazis and bring you examples of hitler's inner circle talking normally rather than giving big speeches to refresh your memory here's a chatty relaxed hitler addressing the leibstandatta ss adolf hitler in i think 1938. there is in this next clip we begin with the mouthpiece of national socialism dr joseph goebbels the minister of propaganda and public enlightenment and after hitler's death reich chancellor of germany for one day until his suicide on the 1st of may 1945. a translation follows after goebbels finishes what does the new germany think of economic developments in these states in america with them positive is says that people in germany are keenly interested and follow very closely the economic development in the united states and they believe that president roosevelt and his advisors are on the right way because here we are in fact concerned with the greatest economic problem economic and social problem which the world has ever had to solve namely to reinstate in the process of production the millions of people who have lost their jobs in factories and shops and offices and in order to solve this problem it is not sufficient to leave it to private initiative but the government must take the lead reichsmarshal hermann gehring was probably the most flamboyant of hitler's inner circle head of the air force the luftwaffe prime minister of prussia and hitler's number two after 1941 goring was apprehended by the americans at the end of the war and tried at nuremberg here we see some excerpts from his defense in 1946 goering committed suicide in his cell the day before he was due to be hanged for taking people into what you call protective country that is right isn't it [Music] your council will see today instant [Music] [Music] now we turn to heinrich himmler head of the ss and the gestapo and one of the most powerful and feared men in nazi germany apprehended by the british in may 1945 he died in custody shortly afterwards in this audio clip himmler privately discusses the jews before a meeting of ss leaders in poland in october 1943 [Music] is [Music] [Music] m [Music] [Music] rudolf hess was deputy fuhrer until 1941 when he flew to scotland to attempt to broker a peace deal between germany and britain sentenced to life imprisonment at nuremberg hesse died in spandau prison in berlin in 1987 aged 93. unfortunately hitler's architect and minister of armaments albert spare constructed grandiose nazi buildings and used slave labor to keep germany's wartime economy going he was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment at the nuremberg trials and died in london in 1981. the following short clip is not [Applause] subtitled [Music] hitler's foreign minister was captured by the british at the end of the war after some months in hiding in hamburg tried at nuremberg and hanged in 1946 fluent in english he was german ambassador to great britain during the 1930s this is hitler youth leader was half american and was a descendant of two signers of the declaration of independence from 1940 to 45 he was gaul leiter of vienna sentenced to 20 years at nuremberg he died in 1974. alex who was hitler's ally in the war here he speaks english in a clip from the early 1930s i am very glad to be able to express my friendly feelings towards the american nation friendship with which italy looks at the millions of citizens who from alaska to florida from pacifica to the atlantic live in the united states yesterday deeply rooted in our hearts this feeling created by material interests self-contributed to preparation of an even brighter era in the life of both nations agree wonderful energy the american people and i see and recognized among you sons of your land as well as our my fellow citizens who are working to make america great i salute the great american peace i serve the italians of america who unite in a single love our nation thanks for watching please subscribe and share don't forget also to visit my new audiobook channel war stories with mark felton you can also help support both of my channels at paypal and patreon details in the description box below
