jugut all right we're going to start your exam now you might feel a little pressure okay oh what's that looks like Frogg or Advance now let's keep moving yeah hey is that Spider-Man Game Boy Advance more games more hello and welcome to this massive list this is my top 75 Game Boy advanced games of all time this was really hard to choose so I made myself some criteria to make the job easier number one only one cartridge per series number two no Nez ornes conversions number three no Game Boy original or Game Boy Color games number four they must be retail releases number five they must be playable with no Japanese knowledge whatsoever because I'm a lazy Englishman and number six they must still be fun to play today here we go guys my top 75 Game Boy advaned games of all time number 75 five bit of a controversial choice but bwm bw's one of those mobile phone games which made the transition to the handout Market bookware may have suffered slightly in the controls during the translation but the game play is still there and you can lose hours while playing this game number 74 kururin Paradise it's a very simple concept you guide this rotating stick which is a spaceship through a maze without touching the sides um in practice is very difficult but it's extreme fun to play number 73 Donkey Kong the King of Swing now who would have thought the Donkey Kong would translate to an excellent puzzle game that wasn't involving Mario this is deceptively simple um all that you need to do is collect bananas and make your way to the top of the maze but it takes a lot of Mastery to get there number 72 Gan New Age something I can't pronounce um luckily you don't need Japanese language to play the game it's a simple um enjoyable platformer that is just got brilliant presentation number 71 Wings this is a conversion and an enhanced upgrade from the Amiga original not only have they got the Amiga Originals campaign in its entirety with improved Graphics they've also added the German side of things to it too number 70 Sega arcade Gallery you've got four classic Sega arcade games all excellently ported down to the Game Boy Advance they're not perfect conversions um especially in after burner's case but they are still brilliant fun games to play and four of them in combination on the cartridge means that you're going to have lots of fun the biggest game on this list for me is outrun um and outrun is a wonderful con 69 dudes radio that's right Jet Set Radio take a Dreamcast classic put it on the Tony Hawk 2 isometric engine for the Game Boy Advance and you set that system a blaze with an excellent game just ready 68 final fight one you take an arcade conversion of final fight you add in unlockable characters unlockable extras cut scenes in between battles and levels uh you ramp the whole thing up to 11 and you give link up play and you get an excellent handheld fighter 67 Guilty Gear X Advance this is a great oneon-one Fighter for the Game Boy Advance A really lovely presentation um and it's got gameplay to back it up the sounds a bit lacking though 66 super puzzle fighter to Turbo this is the third fighter in a row or third fighting related game this one's a Puzzler really addictive it's got this bomb and Gem growth system in there each character's got its different patterns and it's well worth playing 65 starx no I didn't say Star Fox star X it's obviously a Star Fox inspired shooter uh it's great fun to play it's graphically impressive for the Game Boy Advance doesn't quite have the gameplay of Star Fox 64 Spy Hunter it may not have the overhead view anymore it may not have the Peter Gun theme but it still has amazing gameplay across its free roaming levels multiple objectives depending on which area you choose and it's an underrated classic 63 International karate plus also known as ik plus it's an amga Masterpiece of gaming this one um the translation to Game Boy Advance isn't quite as smooth as I'd have liked it to be which is why it's so far down the list but it's still got gameplay in bucket [Music] loads 62 Broken Sword shadow of the Templars uh point and click game with am amazing presentation for a handheld title very smooth Graphics it's still a brilliant game it's one of the best point and click games ever and an incredible PC conversion to boot number 61 Bruce Lee Return of the legend this came out about the same time as the ill fated Xbox Bruce Le game but this one was actually really good it's an action platform with elements that remind me of Shinobi it's a really addictive entertaining game number 60 Super Street Fighter 2 turbo X Revival this is one of the ultimate handheld versions a street fighter available it's got all of the characters from suit Street Fighter 2 turbo it's got all the gameplay with a couple of bugs but it's still an excellent game and all of the game play is there number 59 we are so to get Mr driller 2 for the Game Boy Advance the ultimate version of Mr driller available for any handheld this takes the the formula adds the story mode adds unlockable characters it just basically ramps everything up to 11 number 15 8 Crazy Taxi catch a ride now who would have thought that a Dreamcast game that was pushing the limits of that Hardware could be released on a Game Boy and still be a decent game well they pretty much pull it off it's not perfect it's got a few frame rate issues but it's excellent fun and speaking of fun number 57 Metal Slug Advance you take one of the Premier sidescrolling franchises um you shrink it down onto a handheld you keep all the animation everything that makes Metal Slug wonderful and you just put it in the palm of your hands it's fantastic number 56 silent scope perfect for handheld gaming you can play this in short bursts or you can play it for extended periods of time it's one of those games that you play to master you play it over and over again and try and beat your score each and every time 55 max pain this is a prime example of how you take a Technologic Ally astounding PC game and you build it again in the ground up for a handheld Market uh the isometric view works wonderfully all of the story is intact and all of the action is there too 54 it's Mr pants what a weird name and what a great game it's basically a Puzzler where you have to make certain shapes with the the blocks that are given devally simple idea we've seen it a million times before but not quite like this [Music] 53 the King of Fighters ex2 howling blood this is the first kof game that really felt like a kof game on a handheld before they had cute chibi kind of cut down versions but this is the real deal and it rocks and speaking of rocks number 52 dentisty Warriors Advanced dasty Warriors is one of those games you either love it or you hate it it truly is a Marmite Style game I love Dynasty Warriors the hacking slash action may be a bit mind-numbing to some but I really enjoy it number 51 crash Nitro Kart now this is a great Contender uh was one of the first Mario Kart style games available for the GBA and it just gave everything that players wanted out of it great graphics great sound really good feeling of speed as does our next game on the list number 50 Konami crazy races also known as YY racing this is essentially a Konami All Star version of Mario Kart it's got all your favorite characters from Metal Gear from Castlevania it's even got a couple of characters that were Big in Japan but not anywhere else in the world number 49 double dragon advance and how can I fit my love for this genre and this game into a few short seconds I can't you're just going to have to buy it and play it and see for yourself cuz it's a wonderful game and it should be in your collection number 48 Tom Clancy Splinter Cell Pandora tomorrow much like max pain that I mentioned earlier this takes a graphically impressive console game and plays to a handheld strengths and the game is all the better for it I would have hated to see them try a 3D rendition of this number 47 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles not to be confused with TMNT which is a similar style of game and is equally awesome but I chose this one because each character you play as has its own story line and own levels 46 and one of the kings of the overhead racing crop racing gear Advance brilliant visuals great sound effects fast gameplay really smooth really nice to look at lots of shortcuts around the race course and it's addictive as all hell number 45 gido Advance you take the SES scrolling fighting genre which I'm a huge fan of you add puzzle elements and a bit of an adventure overtone to it and you get kikido Advance providing that you had lots of lovely animation 44 Colin McCrae R 2.0 now this takes polygons on the game advance and uses them sparingly but to excellent effect graphically impressive you've got physic system built in there and it feels really good to swing around those Corners number 43 idra Union this is a turnbas tactic RPG that uses a card battling system if that sounds like your kind of thing please check this out it's very hard to explain number 42 f-zero Climax and this is a Japanese exclusive f-zero game it's actually the third for the Game Boy Advance and it's my personal favorite I love the level layout critics didn't think much of it but I did 41 ninja cop also known as ninja fiber this is a game that got nowhere near enough love when it came now it's it's got a cult following now and people really love it but I urge you I deplore you to go out and buy this game number 40 Juke Nukem Advance this is another one of those games where when the developers got the hang of mode 7 and polygons or Game Boy fans they could show some truly phenomenal stuff including this with its unique campaign levels and unique Story number 39 Motocross Maniacs Advance you may have been waiting for this because each of my Game Boy lists have had a Motocross Maniacs game in there because the the franchise is just so much damn fun the Game Boy advanced version is no exception number 38 Wing Commander prophecy and holy cow was this impressive when this first came out it blew my mind to think that the Game Boy Advance could be capable of such decent space combat with awesome Graphics great sound and atmosphere this is an absolute must have number 37 Tactics Ogre Knights of lotus this is one of my favorite 10-based RPG games of all time the Game Boy Advance is so well suited to games like this it's unreal I love the story I love the the gameplay elements I I just I just really got a kick out of this and I got a huge kick out of this one too number 36 Pokémon pimble Ruby Sapphire I'm not a huge Pokémon fan but I'm a huge pinball fan and this game delivers on the pinball front easily and I can see the appeal of the Pokémon elements too if you're a Pokémon fan or a pinball fan you owe it to yourself to check this game out number 35 Diablo I mean uh Lord of the Rings The Two Towers yeah it's a bit of a Diablo clone but if you take it for what it is it's a handheld Diablo clone uh in The Lord of the Rings universe and if that isn't awesome then I don't know what to tell you it's a really great game that's all I can say next it's 34 Wolfenstein 3D the granddaddy of the first person shooters still excellent fun to play to this very day the Game Boy advanced version is basically a perfect conversion um the graphics are nice crisp and clear the gameplay runs silky smooth all of the game play Just oozes out of this game even 30 odd years after for its original PC release wonderful stuff number 33 Super Monkey Ball junr and when I heard that they were going to bring the arcade and and GameCube classic Super Monkey Ball to the Game Boy I thought it would be a disaster but I was pleasantly surprised and this is a really addictive version of the [Music] game number 32 drozer or known as screw breaker and this is what I love about the Game Boy fans it had so many unique interesting Concepts uh it had so many interesting games drozer is quite simply a platforming master class and number 31 River City Ransom ex is a scrolling beat him up masterclass it's an updated version of the Nez classic which adds humor free roaming levels RPG elements into one of the greatest Sid scrolling beat ups ever in the history of the universe this game rules sorry I got a little carried away there let's get to number 30 V rally 3 which is another technical master class for the Game Boy Advance you can view the game from the cockpit view or from behind the car no matter how you play you're going to have a great time if you're into [Applause] rally number 29 alien homid if you like handdrawn graphics and if you like schms then alien homid is going to be right down the street especially if you've got a bit of a sense of humor I love the game it's got a bit of goore it's got lots of fun and exciting levels and situations and enemies and boss is and it's got a cute little antagonist too it's a wonderful game and it's it's quite unique graphically you don't see many games of this style anymore number 28 Kirby and the Amazing Mirror I'm not a huge Kirby guy I'm not a huge fan of Kirby at all but this game has puzzle elements on top of the usually rather simplistic platform elements it's got a wonderful design it just ooes character it ooes Joy it just makes me feel happy when I play it even though I've completed it what 20 times now I still have a smile on my face every time I play it and that's what makes it such a wonderful game and speaking of wonderful games that put a smile on my face number 27 Mario versus Donkey Kong the great thing about Mario versus Donkey Kong is a series is it takes one of my favorite arade games ever which is Donkey Kong and brings those mechanics into a modern day era um the idea is still very similar rather than rescuing the princess or whoever she was from the big evil monke you got to get toy Marios to the door so that you can continue making money from your factory number 26 defender of the crown now that name will be extremely familiar to anybody who has ever owned an Amiga because defender of the crown was one of the earliest games in the 1980s to really show cinematic style gameplay and The Game Boy Advance has improved the graphics brought it up to the modern era but it still holds a very special place in M yeah admittedly a lot of that is nostal but I love the game so it's in my favorite list sue me number 25 and I don't think many people would disagree with me on this one Gunstar superheroes you take the mega drive or Genesis Gunstar Heroes game and you just turn up everything to bat crazy mode and you get this game boy advaned absolute gem you've got mode seven sty areas you've got crazy Sid scolling areas with explosions in in your face so bad that you can't see what's going on it's electrifying excitement all the way 24 bokai the sun is in your hands now remember what I mentioned about earlier where I said the Game Boy Advance had some really unique creative games bokai is one of those it's at its heart an isometric Adventure but the cartridge has a solar sensor and you are a vampire hunter and your best way of defeating vampires is by taking your Game Boy out to physical sunlight and charging it what a unique concept it was absolutely brilliant number 23 Scourge Hive this is a game that I hear nobody else raving about and it really confuses me as to why nobody says more about this wonderful game it's a brilliant Game Boy advanc game that seems to have got swept under everybody's rug or has flown under the radar somehow maybe it didn't get the good enough marketing push which is a travesty go out buy this game immediately please number 22 Astro Boy Omega Factor now confession time I never played this when it first came out I know slapped myself on the rest for that one because going back to it a few years later I I realized the error of my ways I dismissed it as a kitty style platformer and I couldn't have been further from the truth Astro Boy has a wonderful design that's suable for adults and children alikee it's an ABS abolute must have it's an absolute must play so go out and grab it please number 21 Final Fantasy Tactics advanc another tactical RPG and one of the finest ever created it's lost nothing in the translation from the PlayStation 1 original to the handheld version It's a Wonderful game with a beautiful graphic style great story line it's intriguing it's enthralling and the game play keeps you going for hours it's a wonderful game [Applause] number 20 Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6 rogu spear this is a tactical overhead shooter first of all you plan your entry you infiltrate the building using four teams each which you can enter from different areas um you you plan out your method of attack you eliminate your the enemies rescue hostages and exfiltrate without getting taken down it's a really ening game where you micromanage everything from the type of magazines that your guns carry to how quickly you want to rush in and and rescue people it's just a great game that keeps you busy and tied to your Game Boy until you complete it number 19 Pokémon Emerald now I selected Pokémon Emerald as the the premier version of Game Boy Advance Pokémon it's really interchangeable with any of the Pokémon series except for the remakes of the Game Boy original versions any version of the RPG star Pokémon games are fantastic it's just for some reason I pick emeralds um it's much akin to Pokémon Yellow was for the Game Boy it's kind of an enhanced addition with some extra characters and that is literally the only reason why I chose it above the other ones anyone you pick you can have a great time with [Music] number 18 Sim City 200000 this is a what for lack of a better term God game uh for the ages uh I love Sim City 2 on the PC I loved it on the Sega Saturn on the PlayStation and The Game Boy advanced version is a little bit sluggish in response but the game play is all there you can play this for hours upon hours upon hours in fact I took a flight to Singapore uh which was a 14-hour straight flight with nothing but batteries and this game and it kept me entertained throughout the entire Journey it's wonderful you build your city up from nothing and there's something very therapeutic about that number 17 Mario Golf advaned Tour following on from the Game Boy Color version of Mario Golf this is a golf game with an RPG story perfectly into open in between the golfing courses the golf game game itself is very intuitive to control it uses mode s style visuals to really portray depth and and um make a golf game as interesting as it could possibly be the RPG side of things is superb It's a Wonderful game with a wonderful story and even if you're not a fan of golfing games I still recommend you check this [Music] [Music] out [Music] number 16 Mario Tennis Power Tour much like the Game Boy Color version of Mario Tennis Mario Tennis Power Tour perfectly Ines an RPG story with a fantastic tennis game the tennis game on its own would make this game worth a recommendation the RPG story is light it's humorous and it's entertaining and even if you aren't a fan of tennis I would still recommend this game purely because of that RPG Story the graphics are neat they're Prett rendered style they've got this kind of chunky feel to them the sound is beautiful I love Mario Tennis and this is probably overall the greatest Mario tennis game in 2D available today number 15 Mario wear ink and and I don't know how to explain this the easiest way I can explain this is it's a bunch of micro games they just about 3 to 5 seconds each it's crazy it's in your face it's about adapting to your surroundings quickly uh applying some simple button presses keeping alert and getting ready for the next insane thing that's going to throw be thrown your way um You Don't Know What To Expect and that's what makes it so interesting you could literally be fighting Punch Out style gameer shown here in one second and the next minute you could be I don't know picking your nose or wiping your butt or who rolling your skateboard around you just don't know and that's what makes it so exciting number 14 Doom 2 now you remember though when I said that Wolstein 3D was the the first person shooter granddaddy game well Doom 2 is the game that brought this genre screaming into the Limelight in the in the early '90s and The Game Boy advanced version is absolutely phenomenal who would have thought back in 1993 that you'll be able to play a game this impressive on a handheld I sure as H didn't the reason I picked Doom 2 over Doom one is because of the double barrel shotgun uh I think the level design is also marginally better plus this has a few secret areas that I really got a kick of one of which pays homage to Wolfenstein 3D number 13 Sonic Advanced two now all three Sonic Advance games for the Game Boy Advance are really really awesome game games personally I prefer the level layout of Sonic Advance 2 but you could swap it out with Sonic Advance 3 or the original every one of these games is a Triumph in its own right uh it's blisteringly fast 60 frames per second balls to the wall action it's one of the last truly fantastic 2D Sonic games and it should be in your Game Boy advanced collection right now [Music] number 12 Fire Emblem The Sacred Stones for some reason I always felt that this series was best on the Game Boy Advance and for some reason I always felt that the sequel was better than the original a lot of people disagree with me but this is my list so number two is going in doesn't matter which version of the game you play at the end of the day because they're both very similar and they're both awesome they're really really really really really really really really really really really really really [Music] [Music] good number 11 we've gone through the H mares through this list but finally we hit the real deal Mario Kart super cir it a mere handful of months after the Game Boy Advance was released gave players what they really wanted they wanted SNES and N64 Star Mario Kart in the palm of their hand and this totally delivered this game is Just brilliant it's got everything that you want from Mario Mario Kart game it looks great it's smooth as silk it's a great versus game it's a great single player game it's got great challenge excellent level design it even takes levels from the SNES and N64 versions and combines them with unique original levels exclusive to this game wonderful stuff number 10 Rebel Star tactical command this is made by the same Geniuses that made XCOM UFO defense and that was released on PC Amiga and Playstation back in the early '90s and you can tell the pedigree shines through in every aspect of this game it's basically a handheld version of XCOM it's um I wonderful amazing fantastic addictive enthralling underrated classic not many people know about Rebel Star but the ones that do rant and Rave about it and if you play it even for 20 minutes you will understand why I can't really explain further in a short synopsis but just do yourself a favor and play it please do number nine Golden Sun the Lost age a lot of people prefer the original Golden Sun game uh but I prefer the sequel purely because it's a followup one from the original story line but it's got a much darker tone the story line has some very unexpected twists and turns uh you find out why these Adept people um are so important and why the magic of alchemy needs to be released into the world once [Music] [Applause] again [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] number eight Street Fighter Alpha 3 upper also known as Street Fighter 03 upper I can hear some people already saying hi jug at minutes and 52 seconds into this video you already placed at number 60 the game of Super Street Fighter 2 turbo X Revival and that's from the same Series so you broke your own rules and to those people I reply Street Fighter Alpha 3 is not part of the same series that Super Street Fighter 2 turbo X Revival is it feels different it looks different it may share the same set of characters but they are different games and this one is a doozy it's perfectly ported to the handheld link up play means that you can play it forever in a day with your mates uh it's got exclusive characters that were only available on the Game Boy Advance version at the time and it is a stellar conversion and speaking of Stellar conversions number seven Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 a Game Boy advanced Tony Hawk skater in an isometric Viewpoint that kicks ass this this was stunning when it was first released the Game Boy Advance was a new machine on the Block and Tony Hawk 2 really showed off what the system could do it's a phenomenal game all of the gameplay from the PlayStation original is in there in this brand new Viewpoint that really was thought out brilliantly uh the controls they're just seamless and that is exactly what a game like this needs in fact I love this game so much that it would have rated higher on the list if the licensed soundtrack from the PlayStation was somehow crammed in there but you know it's a small sacrifice to make for such a fantastic conversion to the [Music] handheld number six warri land 4 now if you've seen my Game Boy top 50 list you would have heard me say that warand is one of the finest crafted platform games of all time it's still part of the Super Mario Land series and Wario Land 4 is no exception to the Brilliance of this this franchise uh from my personal standpoint I think the warrior land games with their extra puzzle elements are far more interesting games than the Mario series on its own was um the graphics are great there's style and humor in every crevice of the game multiple endings hidden areas if you name something that should be in a great platform game then I can assure you it will be in here somewhere you've just got to look for it that's what makes Warrior land 4 essential number five castania arer Sor now this is one of the most difficult decisions I had to make for this list there are three absolutely amazing Castlevania games for the Game Boy Advance but I think this is the ultimate version for the handheld um it's set in the near future it's set in 2035 and it follows on from the story from Harmony of dissonance and also Castle Symphony of the Night for the PS1 which is if you haven't played it is probably one of the greatest platform games ever made and gameplay style and some design choices have obviously been inspired by the Symphony of the Night and if I'm being honest and a little bit Brave I've got to say that I think ARA of Sorrow is a better game than Symphony of the Night you hello you still here all that I can hear is rabbit Furious typing are you all right I think a lot more people will agree with me on this one number four is meteroid Fusion the first of the Game Boy advanced games to feature Samaran the second being a remake of the Nintendo original game for me this one is just the greatest Metroid on handheld again controversial Choice it could even possibly be better than Super Metroid on the Super Nintendo and I'd like to discuss that actually I'd like to see what you think because I have had this discussion before with people do you think that Metroid Fusion could be better than super metroid or am I totally way out of line please leave a comment [Music] below number three Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga now this is a very rare thing indeed or it was at the time it's a mixture of a platform game and some mixture of a puzzle game and some mixture of RPG elements to both turn-based and real time action and it's all blended into a beautifully designed package that's filled to the brim with humor it keeps you interested from beginning to end and it's just the start of a wonderful wonderful franchise if you are even remotely into action adventure games or RPG games even if you're not into the Mario and Luigi style aesthetic if you take away all of the visual an ear you have a Class Act of a game um even if the humo isn't your cup te there is still enough there's still enough intuitive and Innovative gameplay here to keep anyone [Music] entertained number two on my list is the 12th game in The Legend of Zelda franchise it is the Legend of Zelda the Minish Cap um the Minish Cap retains all of the similar gameplay styles to previous Zelda games and it wraps it up in a graphical style that's extremely reminiscent of the Wind Waker for the GameCube and then subsequently the Wii U the Minish Cap not only has an interesting and fairly lengthy main campaign but it also introduces Collectibles and side quests there are these Special artifacts called K stes which you find throughout the game um these can be fused together to create medallions and these medallions can unlock different areas special secrets and all kinds of different stuff throughout the game there are also figurines that you can find on one of the side quests and these figurines each have trivia about the Zelda Universe uh attached to them that you can read once you've collected once you've got the set you unlock a house with some extra bits and pieces and a music test 74 down one to go before I reveal number one a few honorable mentions will be found in the description below there's a link there there's a whole new video dedicated purely for honorable mentions there were just so many I had to make a separate video for it but I digress I guess you're here for my number one Game Boy advanced game of all time and I'm going to tell you right now my number one Game Boy advanced game of all time is Advance Wars of course it is it's a wonderful game it's a game that you can't really play for five minutes because if you do you'll look at your watch and before you know it's seven hours a pass it's just so addictive the story Line's interesting the graphical style is delightful the strategy is intense it's got a good challenge on there the game is Just superbly crafted in every single way Advanced Wars is one of the killer apps for the Game Boy Advance and I fell in love with it from the moment I played it and I've been a big fan of the the Advanced Wars franchise of s so there we go my number one Game Boy advanced game of all time in my top 75 list as I mentioned before I do have an honorable mentions video and that has a whole slew of other games that didn't quite make this list there are so many great Game Boy advanced games I wanted to Showcase a few more um but I didn't want to make it too long a video I didn't want to make it a top 200 which I had enough games to do but I thought you might get bored of that so I made a separate video please feel free to check it out and if you like this video then please feel free to click the links to other videos that you might enjoy until next time have a good one take care [Music] bye
