That's why I don't do, uh, fancy intros
to my videos! Oh that hurt! All right, welcome everyone! My name is John and this is the
FitLife Channel where I give fitness tips and I do reviews on cameras and other gadgets. Maybe
you've been looking at buying the Sony Xperia PRO-I for a while. Or maybe you're interested
in wondering why people like myself buy Sony phones despite not being very popular compared to
other brands. Perhaps I can help you out and give you five good reasons why the Sony Xperia PRO-I
will still be good in 2024. Now wait a second. Isn't it still 2023? Of course! But knowing
how long it takes for me to make a video, by the time this one is done, it's probably
going to be 2024! In case you're wondering what camera I'm using right now, it is the
Sony ZV1. The Sony Xperia PRO-I uses the same sensor from this camera. For the rest
of this video, I will be recording footage using the Sony ZV1 and the Sony Xperia PRO-I.
So let's get out of this hot micro studio and head on outside and let's find out what makes
the Sony Xperia PRO-I still great in 2024! So the number one reason the Sony Xperia PRO-I
will still be great in 2024 is its excellent camera system, specifically the wide angle 24mm
setup. I use the wide angle 24mm camera 90% of the time. it's still produces great photos
and videos in 2023 and still will for 2024. There was a lot of controversy over its cropped
1.0 type sensor when it was released in 2021, but it's still similar in size to many recently
released flagship smart phones. Using all of the 1.0 type sensor would require a larger lens setup
which might have turned out similar to what you see on large sensor cameras from Vivo and Xiaomi.
Probably one of the reasons Sony cropped the sensor and put a smaller lens system on it because
they were also thinking about the design and the overall look of how the camera would turn out.
The great thing about these cameras is they produce natural lifelike colors and feel,
have excellent contrast and very minimal sharpening to the pictures and videos.
They were co-designed with famous optics company Zeiss to replicate their famous
Zeiss look. What is the Zeiss look you ask? I made a video about it and I'll put
the link in the description box below. Also Sony calls this a camera first and for those
wanting more control over their photos and videos, they did an excellent job giving that to you
with a menu system that's similar to the ones found in their Sony Alpha digital cameras.
The number two reason why the Sony Xperia PRO-I will still be great in 2024 is the
two-stage physical shutter button. It seems like a minor thing to point this out for
a top 5 list but if you have used film, DSLR or mirrorless cameras before, you understand
why this is so important. A physical shutter button on the Sony Xperia PRO-I gives it a more
camera- like feel and helps produce better photos. I can squeeze it to minimize movement which
allows a sharper, blur-free photo. I can also half press to focus on a subject to confirm that
they are in focus and press it again to take the photo. So you can see why it's important to have
a physical shutter button rather than just an on display one. Another reason for having a physical
shutter button is for times like this. When I want to vlog from the rear cameras, if I want to
start or stop a video, I don't have to turn this camera around. All I have to do is tap that
shutter button and I'm ready to start vlogging. So what was up with the distorted audio for those
past scenes? Well, the problem was this. This is the Sony ECM W2-B2 wireless microphone system
that I was using during the videos for the ZV1 and I had the ATT settings set to 10 decibels as
recommended by Sony to record human voices. But I think that wasn't a great choice because maybe,
I had this a bit too close to my mouth. So if you do decide to use this to record audio and you
have no choice but to put it on your shirt, I think it's better to set it to the
20db setting to minimize distortion. Oh! Caught myself there! Better sit down gently
for this portion. Reason number three why the Sony Xperia PRO-I is still going to be a great
device to have in 2024, is its 4K display. Hopefully you can see that clearly. Now this is
another controversial feature of the Sony Xperia PRO-I. Some sources will say having 4K abilities
on a display this size is well, useless, and you can't tell the difference between it and a 2K or
FHD display. Also it's not activated all the time and is only turned on when viewing 4K content. But
it's the only smartphone in the world, sorry Sony, I should be calling this a camera first, that can
display 4K content. So if you enjoy watching that on a mobile device this is your only choice.
But what if you create content in 4k but you don't have a 4k monitor like like myself?
That's when its 4K option really shines. So if I'm editing a video in 4K resolution and
I want to see how it's going to turn out, I will transfer it from my computer to the
Sony Xperia PRO-I and I will review it there. You can also use it to immediately review
4K content that you have recorded from its cameras. Also I haven't had any burn in or any
other issues like the Samsung Note 20 Ultra that I sometimes use to record video. And I've also
had this happened with my previous Samsung S20 Ultra where it also displayed green lines going
down the screen within six months of owning it. And reason number four why the Sony Xperia
PRO-I is still going to be great in 2024 is it Snapdragon 888 processor. Did I say too many
8s? I've been using the Xperia PRO-I on a daily basis for many hours for the past 16 months and
I've had very few issues with the processor. Just as the day that I received it, it's still very
fast, smooth, I have minimal lagging and very few issues when using apps and playing the occasional
games. Only when I've been in the bright sunlight recording videos and it becomes really hot, do I
experience short-term lagging with this device. However, I have a feeling most people won't be
recording videos in 30° C plus environments to have that issue. And in 2023 and probably into
2024 where some Flagship smartphones are only giving you 8 GB of RAM and between 128 to 256 GB
of storage, the Sony Xperia PRO-I has 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage! So that's something to
think about if you're deciding to buy this phone. And the fifth and final reason why the Sony Xperia
PRO-I will still be great in 2024 is its design. Even in 2023 and going into 2024, the Xperia PRO-I
has a unique and pleasing appearance that is still better than most recent flagship smartphones.
For Sony to cram the RX100 series compact camera sensor into this thin and slim body while still
keeping it looking sophisticated and clean is just amazing! To understand what I'm talking, about
all you have to do is compare the Xperia PRO-I to most flagship smartphones that use a large
sensor and take a look at their camera housings which tend to be very unpleasant and distasteful.
So if you're someone who wants a clean and subtle but sexy look to your smartphone, the Sony Xperia
PRO-I will definitely not disappoint in 2024. That's it everyone, my top five reasons why
I believe the Sony Xperia PRO-I will still be great in 2024. Some of you may have noticed
I didn't bring up the headphone jack or the external storage which seems to be a favorite
among many reviewers and Sony users. I rarely use external storage. 512 GB is plenty for me.
For the reason why I didn't include the headphone jack in this video, well I'm going to save it
for my next video, the TOP 5 REASONS the Sony Xperia PRO-I will not be great in 2024. Ah, so
you can see I don't show favoritism towards this device. Hopefully you found this video useful!
