favorite subject in school music what kind of music No you're very sweet and I'm guessing you're gonna be singing for us yeah listen don't be nervous I know this is a big stage and there's lots of now hello hello hello how are you nervous okay I what's your name please my name is Michael Ketterer way from I'm originally from East Tennessee but right now I live in Orange County and tell me a bit about you what do you do for a living I'm a pediatric mental health nurse okay and what are you gonna be doing for us are you a singer yes sir so this is kind of a different direction you coming on a show like this Michael so tell me what the thought process was what's what's the ambition the dream here well um my family's my reason why I'm here my wife and my six children you know one of the things that happens especially because my children came out of foster care when you're surviving you can't dream and that has been one of the most rewarding things is providing them with a home in a safe environment where they're free to dream and so I'm here because I want to show them that if their dad can live out his dreams then nothing is impossible for them to fear okay Michael listen we're Kentucky my hands are sweaty people drive I've been singing since I've been a kid but it's just nothing that you would want to go after where I'm from because it seems so unachievable can you believe with the people here Wow where I'm from it's such a small town it's either of coal mines the military or your college so I dug straight into the colon I was 18 year old my graduate high school went straight underground four days after I graduated it's it's such a hard life and it's dangerous it kind of made me think if you're gonna risk your life and risk your free country you know it's it's more than worth it Google I learned actually how to play guitar on Marine Corps [Music] and when you get shot at you look at things a lot different and you look at life a lot and to make you home from something like that I feel fortunate to be able to chase my dream you see your mom and you I seem to come up to the level where the out in the poster yeah I don't want to be the one when I'm saving the 80 euro to say you know what would happen if I were to try to chase that you're in shows my sticker house it looks coming off with him I want to be the one that says I chased it get out there give it to all right all right have a good time [Applause] by county what's in him my name is Jimmy rose are you a little bit nervous today a little bit but that's what it's all about right yes where are you from I'm from Pineville Kentucky I'm a 4-year United States Marine Corps veteran what do you do I'm a former coal miner back home my hometown that is a very dangerous job yeah yes ma'am it is you know I worked on the ground and all my friends and family back home you know our coal miners and I'm gonna be singing in an original song called coal keeps the lights on it's just kind of my way getting behind the song supporting my my hometown well I can't wait to hear your song hope y'all enjoy [Applause] the moment he pulls in the whole Chevy from a ciggy shield mama still sleeping kids still crash down the couch [Music] he goes in through the back door he all look so mean wives cold a stomp is nice and he eats his knees I wanna thank you for everything rope and a strength you hear friends don't really know I sing so they don't know you're here no you believe that you can win well I mean miracles can happen so possibly stages yours I don't play by those the game yeah [Music] this I got the shaking oh you if anything goes around just look to me I'll beat it I got you I'm a hell I'm way even walk with you keep it going what's your name Anna hi how do you 20 years old and what do you do for a living I don't have a job right now but that has to do with my situation and stuff so what's your situation I suffer from anxiety and depression disorder so um about like two or three months ago I was bedridden and I hadn't left my house in a couple of months when I was 14 I was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder I suffered from a lot of panic attacks I you know couldn't leave my house most days I couldn't leave my room I couldn't get out of bed it felt like my mind had given up on me I just I didn't I didn't see a future I just didn't want to be here anymore and you start to you know question your ability as a parent you can't do anything you can't make it better to see my little girl [Music] with therapy I became better and then about four months ago is when it hit me the hardest it's ever had before I just I felt so bad about myself I didn't I didn't like who I was I I didn't know how to bring myself out of it and we felt helpless we didn't know which way to turn and nothing was working and music found her being here today is incredible I remember I couldn't step out of the bedroom I didn't want to face the world and now I'm facing thousands of people excuse me in the world to me to see her out there and gonna do for her personally I also have an anxiety disorder I suffer from OCD people don't really know what it takes and how much suffering it is for you to even show up today is so amazing there isn't anybody alive that at some time doesn't need help in coping and the world is here for you and I just want to hear what you have to offer us so just play and pretend like you're alone in your room and nobody's watching okay thank you [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] there was a secret chord that David played pleased the Lord but you
