Dang I’ve been doing pretty good at staying away from BGG’s hotness list I guess because I have only heard of 5 or 6 of these. Tons of stuff to look into!

[Music] hmm [Music] hello everyone welcome back to rolling solo my name is adam smith and today as you can see from the title of the video we are going to be doing a top 20 solo games from 2021 by the rolling solo community so let me just clarify what this title really means so 20 solo games you're going to see in this list to help you steer you towards games that are the popular choices now these are not necessarily going to be the choices that might fit for you but it'll give you 20 games to ponder over some of them you might own already some of them you might be thinking about owning and some you might have dismissed and never want to own that's okay this list is completely created from the rolling solo community and is not my own personal list i will be actually releasing my own personal list when we dive into 2022 which is coming around the corner i'll release a video at that point which is just my list this one was driven completely from the community it was inside the rolling solo board game community on facebook as well as a side forum for those that don't like to use facebook so everybody can get their votes in on this list and i'm really excited to see how all these things land and also get your thoughts on what you see in maybe the top 10 top five and the ones near the end of the list because there might be some at this at the bottom section of the top 20 that you might think deserve to be higher up and i'd love to hear arguments around that stuff because i really think a lot of these games could change positions just based on bias personal preference uh types of gameplay mechanics you're into so these lists are always fun and especially the comments section gets a little wild in terms of everybody's opinions on things and i really want everyone to feel comfortable to let everybody else know what their thoughts are on certain games so have at it in the comments we're going to start in the 20th position and we're going to roll through this the last thing i want to mention is this is all these are all games from 2021 so in other words they had to have released this year whether it be in retail or for instance like your friendly local game store which is 101 essentially the same thing or amazon or they came from a crowdfunding experience like game found or kickstarter or something like that but they had to have landed on people's doorsteps uh in the side of this year and there's not a single expansion on this list whatsoever so now that you know the uh the rundown of how this list was you know came to be and what uh what we'll be doing in the future on my own personal list which will come out in the early portion of 2022. let's get to it let's start with uh number 20 right now in the 20th position on the list is marvel united x-men this comes from cool mini or not and i have marvel united i've also covered it fully on the channel before i did an unboxing for the x-men version but haven't gotten to a playthrough of it yet but the play experience is similar we just have different aspects of different universes you know in those different game boxes those base game boxes now this game is not going to be an overly complex game and that's probably why it landed on this list in the first place is that the community really enjoys some of the games that are not crazy complex that take a lot of time you can rip through this game in about 30 to 40 minutes and if you're playing solo you could probably rip through it in 20 minutes to 30 minutes when you start knowing the rules and really rolling in a fast pace plus the ability to kind of mix and match different heroes go up against different enemies and just the nature of the game itself just aims to be a really easy game to table so for that fact alone i can understand why the community really enjoys marvel united x-men in the 19th spot on the list is veil wraith from hall or nothing productions this is inside the killforth universe and uh besides the base game that originally landed which i covered at length here on the channel there was shadows of killforth and currently in crowdfunding right now there is call of kill for it now i'll mention those games that i'm mentioning right now those ones are not in terms of design the same as this veil wraith game this is going to take you through vignettes which you are going to be working through trying to actually succeed at each of them in order to continue through all the vignettes to complete all of them i can tell you right now it is a challenge the game is really smooth the design is awesome i love it as a solo game it only takes about 30 or 40 minutes to play each session and probably speeds up even faster as time goes on i found myself being able to finish a vignette even quicker the next time through when i retried what i really like about this game is that it kind of lulls you into a false sense of security when you're playing through the game you feel like you've got this in the bag and then the game will throw a wrench at you it'll make you make a pivotal decision on how you want to move forward and that decision can have massive ripple effects on whether or not you're successful or not so those moments in the game is what really made the game shine for me and i definitely recommend people that are interested in that kind of a game to check this one out don't be turned off by the fact it is a black and white colored game in terms of the artwork that was done on purpose as part of what the game was trying to actually do it was not a decision made to remove color from the game just for the sake of its design and looks just to be a shock value it was actually part of the theme and the makeup of the game the story behind it really does tie into that black and white look next up on the list in the 18th position we have a bullet now this is a game that i have not played yet i've tried to get my hands on it i'm in canada and just trying to attempt to purchase this thing and get it into uh canada in general is actually quite expensive i found shipping to be the same cost as the base game alone so that really deterred me from even wanting to try it however if i ever get the chance to try it at a price that actually makes sense i will certainly jump on that and dive into it but the uh rolling solo community does put a bullet in the 18th position it's worth mentioning it's on the lighter side of things it's it might even be as light or lighter than marvel united so take that in into consideration as well if you're looking for a little bit more of a medium to heavy weight this is not going to fill that that vibe but if you're looking for me something a little bit faster playing it's only going to be about 10 to 20 minutes to play through the game and you're going to be able to get through the rulebook at a very quick pace and this is when you'll be able to table much more often in the 17 position on the list is chronicles of crime 1400 1900 and 2400 all from lucky duck games these are all standalone individual games but you can also pick them all up as well and there is some interlocking story woven through them now if you're not familiar with chronicles of crime i have covered the game on the channel in a crowdfunding capacity and i believe also a playthrough as well and i really enjoy it on and off the channel it is fantastic it's a really good game it's a very lightweight game again and it's actually nice to have a number of these lighter weight games here where it does only takes like you know eight or ten pages of rules to get you going and this is a perfect example of a game like that um you're gonna be using an app and you're also gonna be placing your glasses on top of the phone itself looking into it to give you kind of a virtual world to explore you're not going to necessarily be moving around this virtual world but you're able to look at a scene of a crime essentially and be able to pick out clues and those clues are going to lead you to qr codes on cards that are then going to allow you to with qr code usage bump around between different locations trying to figure out what the heck is going on who's guilty of what and by the end of it you're trying to solve investigation and i just i love everything about these every single time they come out with a new iteration i have to have them and they're great especially even as a solo player or even with family they're fantastic just because that barrier to entry is almost non-existent next up in the 16th position on the list from rock manor games is settle watch swords of the coin this is a game i have covered on the channel before actually covered the original entry of the game and really liked it and i definitely recommend it for solo players it's about a medium weight it's it's pretty much dead center in the middle it's not extremely complex and it's not extremely easy to learn it's pretty much right in the center what i love about it is the footprint the design of the game box is awesome i absolutely love the fact that you open up the box the box is actually used as part of the game board itself the idea that you're trying to keep a fire going so that you can actually thematically see further into the darkness to see more enemies as they come down a row at you it's just really cool and of course you're trying to clear those enemies out so they don't actually destroy everything that you're trying to accomplish in your game this is a game i highly recommend solo players check out the next entry in the 15th position is a game i haven't played yet i know i feel terrible with this i know i can hear the shame shame shame from many miles away this is imperium legends this comes from osprey games and honestly this year i checked out wildlands their ancients expansion that they added in that allowed for solo play and enjoyed that as well but i really wanted to get my hands on imperium legends and imperium classics to get an idea as to what these games have to offer but i wasn't able to get my hands on them they actually sold out so fast inside of canada i have not been able to track them down so at some point in the future they are going to be on my list of you know my wishlist my personal wish list of games i want to go after but i don't have much to say around this one mainly because i haven't actually played them at all but the rolling solo community certainly puts the legends version here at the 15th position so that is certainly worth mentioning for those of you out there looking for games that might interest you and now in the 14th position we have euthea torment of resurrection a game which i covered on the channel very recently and i can tell you right now if you want to pick up a game that has a lot of punch boards wow there is a ton inside the box i highly recommend if you're gonna pick this game up after you dive into my videos to see whether or not it's a fit for you i definitely recommend picking up the organizers for the game please do yourself a favor of doing that because there are tons of tiles in this game but don't worry once the tiles are in those organizers it's one of the best organizer situations inside of a box i've seen because you simply just drop the containers inside they actually have a cover on the front to keep the tiles from falling out and when you want to play the game you literally pick up a tower put it on the table lift the front opens up there's all your tiles ready to go easy there's about three or four of them in the box so it just goes to tell you and there's probably two to three to four columns on each of them it goes to tell you how many tiles are really in this box but what i like to relate this game to in my mind when i first looked at it was mage knight in terms of how it looked on the table moving around a game world with hexes but the gameplay moves at a faster pace than mage knight does just because of magenta's complexity i would never actually compare uh ufia and mage knight in terms of what they do because they're two completely different games but it might scratch an itch for those of you that have played mage knight in the in the past and are kind of done with it and wanted something that kind of gives you the feel of mage knight in terms of the overworld look on the game board because for some weird reason i still enjoy that hex look of a map layout i just enjoy it i don't know why but i like the way it looks so because it makes it feel like there's so many things you could do with just one tile one tile flips over and it's like wow look at all these different locations i can potentially interact with and explore and the mechanics they added into this one are very unique and interesting and i definitely recommend you check it out in the 13th position on the list from the rolling solo board game community we have a terraforming mars arius expedition this came out this year from stronghold games and it's one that i actually passed on that's because i originally owned terraforming mars played it a whole bunch the original game and then let it go it just didn't fit for me it was not the game i was wanting to play and it never got back to the table so i don't really have much of an interest in playing this other uh you know alternative option for terraforming mars there's gonna be a whole bunch of people that are gonna tell me i probably should go ahead and give this one a try and if you do think i should give this a try if i didn't enjoy terraforming mars please let me know in the comments below i haven't tried this one yet but i am willing to always give something a shot before saying that i'm not going to enjoy it i just didn't get around to it this year as it wasn't one of the games i was excited to actually obtain and play but as the rolling solo community has already stated this one definitely deserves to be on the list next up in the 12th position from arius games is sword and sorcery ancient chronicles this is a game that is going to give you a new starting point into sword and sorcery you can actually continue on from immortal souls onwards and actually bring your characters over there's a lot here to enjoy the one thing i will preference with this particular pick is that it is on the heavier side sword and sorcery as a dungeon crawler is a great game but it is fiddly and there's a complexity there that would shoot it up to the higher than average in terms of a dungeon crawler complexity levels if that makes any sense so just be aware of that going into it but if you have the rule stuck in your head from the original entry because you enjoyed it so much then diving into ancient chronicles for you is going to be a win now i will say for me personally i'm looking forward to it arriving i'm in canada and i bundled my pledge up so that it's going to come much later so i don't have it yet a whole bunch of people got theirs a little bit earlier because maybe they did two wave shipping or or they didn't have other stuff combined with it but my stuff's coming a little bit later and i still haven't got it yet uh so for me this will likely not be on my personal list and it's gonna be the case with a number of games here that i haven't received yet in canada again shipping being as fun as it is this year kind of you know makes this whole list ebb and flow a little bit but this is one that i've really enjoyed in the past i covered sword and sorcery i have playthrough of it and if you want to check it out and see how it actually plays definitely recommend you do that all right we're getting down to the end of the list here in the 11th position we have cartographers heroes this comes from thunderworks games and this is one i actually recently just got so i will have more plays for me personally into the game itself before the end of the year i recently released an unboxing on the channel but this one was just different than anything that i have and i really wanted to check it out because i love that role player universe for some crazy reason i just enjoy the artwork i enjoy the feel of it and i think cartographers kind of act you know offer something that i don't already have in my collection it's something unique and different and i want to dive into a little bit further but as the rolling solo community here has already stated in this list it definitely deserves to be on it and the 11th position is a great spot all right now we are finally into the top 10 of this list again coming from the rolling solo board game community really excited to see how all these things place and of course the ones in the top 10 are gonna probably be games that most of us have played if not looked into in terms of buying it or not buying it so hopefully this will kind of give you a loose idea as to roughly where the community stands in terms of the top ten of course i think that these could change in position any which way at any given time i mean it depends really on personal preference and what you feel like playing that given day but this top 10 should be quite interesting in the final run of this video so in the 10th position we have destinies from lucky duck games it's a game i covered on the channel actually this year and what i loved about it from a solo perspective is the fact they implemented the challenger mode and i forget off the top of my head what the other modes call but it's more of a narrative driven non-timer situation so basically challenger mode puts you on the clock you've got to be as efficient as possible you've got to get from point a to point b to point c and you're going to be doing everything as quickly as possible to succeed as time is crunching you down in the scenario whereas the other way to play which again i slipped my mind is what it's called allows you the freedom of no time restraints and you can just enjoy the story you can check everything out you can pick and prod and do different you know side quests whatever you want to do within the game and you just have ample time to do it now what i like about this is that some games don't even give you those two options they would just say well for a solo mode you just get this or you just get that and that can literally cut the community straight in half and someone could go well i actually really wanted a challenger mode because i don't want it to be just easy so i'm out right and just having the two options there present was a really smart choice on lucky duck's lucky duck games design path because it really makes sure that everybody can potentially enjoy this game right now again it's app driven so you're going to have an app open so some people might not like that i personally have no issues with app games whatsoever i think they take away a lot of the fiddliness of some of these dungeon crawlers or adventure games that get released so i'm all for them so long as there's enough going on the tabletop to still justify the presence of it being called a board game because it needs to be a 50 50 split essentially at the very least so long story short does this deserve to be at the 10th position from the rolling slow community i think so and i actually think it's a game that a lot of individuals especially around even the holidays and going into 2022 are still gonna be playing and enjoying in the ninth position on the list from mythic games we have solomon kane now this is a game that i really enjoy i have no idea where this is gonna land on my personal list when that comes out later this year it's gonna i'm constantly juggling where that's gonna sit but solomon kane is up there and it's one of mythic's best solo games they've released to date it's immersive it has absolutely awesome table presence and if you're a fan of solomon kane and all the backstory around it you're going to love it you're gonna literally pick it up and just run with it and what's really cool about the design choice around it that i liked especially when you're playing solo is they thought about the idea of hey you can you know you have up to four virtues that are essentially controlling when you're playing with multiple people but that's a lot for a solo player to take on and they may not want to but you certainly can though the option is there you can still do that but they do have i believe providence is the name of the virtue if it's not slipping my mind and providence is basically a all-powerful virtue that you can just use as a singular one when playing solo to make your life just a bit easier and less you know things to manage on the table so you can go either way which is awesome the thing i loved about the game so much is that they took a totally different um approach to the design and the feel of it being that you're having to deal with entities that don't actually exist in the game world they're behind the scenes or behind the veil you've got you know spirits ghosts all that kind of stuff going on and they're all kind of impacting solomon kane in different ways positive for the virtues and negative of course coming from the ghouls and everything else that's in that world so the stories that can come out of it and the timing of things happening and how those things are relating to the npcs inside the game really makes this world come alive makes you really want to actually churn through all the narrative in the game i highly recommend that when this thing comes around again in the future because well it better and i'm pretty sure it is um that you jump on this one because i think it's a very very special solo experience in the eighth position on the list is chronicles of drunker age of darkness from creative games studios and i really think that this is in a correct position it should be in the top 10 of this list a hundred percent uh chronicles of john gore really surprised me uh from some from a publisher that had not been around prior to seeing the production that was the original game land when it did and i opened it up and went through it i was blown away i mean it has game tray so that really helps with the overall production as well as the organization of the game but not only does it help with set up and tear down and just organizing it back into the box it also is used for the dungeon layout itself so you actually have levels within the dungeon that are built out using the game trays in the game plus you have the ability to build out your own dungeons you also have this really cool mechanic where they're basically it seems simple but it's it adds so much more to a dungeon crawler experience when they place a little pamphlet of paper that represents a door at the end of a game tray and then as you move to the end of that game train the dungeon and you interact with the door it then you know surprises you with whatever's coming next behind it which might be more crazy terrain more enemies whatever else but it just keeps the excitement always there and always present again this is not a dungeon crawler where the map layout is given to you and you see everything in advance you are going into it blind and i absolutely love it and they nailed the execution on that the only thing i will say is a negative around this one is uh that they did kind of fumble with the darkness explanations in the rulebook just in terms of making sure that all the edge cases were covered but i believe from all the feedback they got from the original game when it landed now going into their well i should say their other campaign already wrapped up which has a reprint going on with more content coming down the line in the future they're revisiting the whole darkness conversation and they're going to tweak that to the point where it's no longer confusing like it was in certain situations with the original game but i highly recommend this if you're looking for a game that is a dungeon crawler and you're a solo gamer this thing is fantastic in the seventh position on the list from osprey games is imperium classics this time around and it's in the seventh position so it's a pretty big difference between classics and legends but again as i mentioned when i talked about legends earlier on i haven't had the chance to play these ones i really really want to i just cannot find a copy of these games anywhere there's probably good reason for that they're probably really popular i'm not going to go into an explanation around them highly recommend you check them out but i don't have any content on the channel for you and i don't know enough about the games themselves uh to be able to speak to them beyond the point of saying that if you're a solo gamer you should certainly check them out and i'm looking forward to hopefully getting my hands on them in 2022 to see what all the fuss is about and in the sixth position from garfield games is hadrian's wall now from garfield games they've come through with raiders of the north sea they have the whole west kingdom line this these are games that i've covered on the channel before i enjoy them and i really want to get my hand on hadrian's wall but unfortunately i thought i put through a pre-order when they originally put those out but i must have not actually checked out and completed it for some crazy reason and now i'm kind of digging around trying to find it so it's one that i definitely want to play and it's actually the last one on the list that i haven't played so out of the 20 games on this list from the community five of them i didn't get a chance to either table or play so it's not too bad but i've got a few games that i really want to check out so if you're interested as a solo player in this one and you're familiar with anything around raiders of the north sea or the west kingdom you're going to understand what you're getting yourself into with hadrian's wall highly recommend you check this one out as a solo gamer because what they're able to pump out their garfield games for solo gamers is very very high quality games and my friends we have done it we have arrived now in the top five of this top 20 list from the rolling solo board game community and in the fifth position we have bloodborne the board game coming from cool mini or not very reminiscent of what happened in 2019 with cthulhu death may die when it landed and blew me away i was waiting crossing my fingers that game to land hoping it would be as good as it could be and it surpassed what i expected it to be and it was awesome it was new it was different the design around it was different than anything coleman iron had done before it was unique and it stood on its own and i loved every bit of it and i really hope there's more seasons of it in the future because they knocked it out of the park now going back to bloodborne why am i even talking about death may die that's because to me bloodborne was the home run that cthulhu death may die was back in 2019 but now in 2021 this is a game again that's gonna source straight underneath all kinds of people's radars because they're gonna look at it and go well i don't have a playstation i've never played that particular game i don't know the ip i have no basis of understanding what this game is trying to do i can tell you right now if you have played the game the video game and you have and you and you've actually played a substantial amount of this board game you will understand how well they have designed this thing from a video game to a table top this adaption is fantastic this is not a typical ip video game adaption where it's a money grab situation this is a legit designed well-designed game that i don't think you could hand this ip off to anybody else and expect a better design game back in terms of what they put together here i think they nailed the major aspect of bloodborne which was the combat and how it feels to set yourself up for success and you do that when you're playing the video game by learning how to defeat enemies by using different combos of moves and they did it all with cards no dice whatsoever and i'm a huge fan of dice but they threw all that out the window and said we're gonna use cards and make the mechanics and build around that and i'm really happy they did if you haven't checked out bloodborne the board game and at least given it a shot i highly recommend you do so it's awesome it's staying in my collection and it's not going anywhere in the fourth position on the list from a fantasy flight games is descent legends of the dark now based on the box design based on a couple of subtle hints it seems like this is act one to a three part trilogy and i can tell you right now from what i've experienced in act number one i am dying to see what's coming in act two and three now i am very very happy i took the plunge on this one and yes there was a whole bunch of people around the price and the artwork that uh you know kind of said this wasn't my thing really for me personally the artwork i thought was awesome it was different than anything else that i have the only gripe that i have around the artwork was that i think they could have put a little extra design into the artwork for like the water and the grass like basically what the environment looks like on the flat bottom i i'm perfectly fine with everything around the terrain in the game and for those that don't know this game has you literally building out the dungeon terrain keeping it inside the box and as the game progresses and it's all driven by an app you're going to be placing terrain that you're going to actually visually see in front of you again there's going to be different levels to things there's going to be furniture laying around all over the place the map is going to send you on an actual adventure that makes you feel like you're going through a dungeon and clearing it out and also one thing i need to mention is that every single scenario inside of this game as you move through the campaign is very unique and they throw a lot of really cool uh objectives and different things you have to deal with with the components that they've included in the box so they've done a good job of going okay we have all these components how can we best use them in in combination with the app to kind of make each different scenario you're playing through feel different than the last one and unique and i think they nailed that they also probably learned a lot from this first act and will probably implement a lot of the great changes that have been thrown back as feedback into act two and three so long story short the price point on this one is quite high higher than the average but i think it's absolutely worth it and i recommend checking it out we now enter top three territory and van rider games owns the third position for the rolling solo board game community with final girl this is a game that is been delivering landing on people's doorsteps has been made available through their web store and is also coming back in early 2022 so people that missed out the first time around you're going to have another opportunity it's worth mentioning this game it's going to put you through all the tropes you'd expect with a 80s 90s kind of slasher vibe feel of a game that you're going to have but not just slasher i shouldn't say just slasher but it's just got that like gritty old-school horror vibe to it but the cool thing about it is it focuses on a whole female cast it's also just a solo game only you can't play this game multiplayer so they specifically designed this game for solo players and the great news is the game is awesome so you are going to have some fun with this one you can mix and match locations with different uh you know villains inside of the game or nemesis you're going up against it's awesome and i cannot wait because i did a playthrough of it on the channel actually earlier and i want to revisit it in its final version final girl and i'm going to do that inside of 2022 in the earlier parts of the year because i want to show you guys what it actually looks like and just update the playthrough that i did at the time cannot wait for that and absolutely this deserves to be in the top three for the year 110 we have made it now to the final two entries of this list and the second position belongs to thunderworks games role player adventures and this is a game i've covered in full on the channel recently had a blast on camera playing with you guys and also enjoying going through each and every storybook off camera as well i want more storybooks now and i'm sure they're already on that this is going to be an evergreen game for thunderworks games a hundred percent and i really think what they did with role player originally being that it was a very good game they've taken it now by moving it to adventures as an excellent game this is a game that's going to stick around for the long term and a smart choice on their on their part in terms of allowing you to and especially for people that own all the role player content from the past being able to create a game or create a character i should say inside of role player and to be able to import that character after you're finished the game into adventures and to carry on was very very smart because instead of kind of slicing it in half and then people moving to adventures taking role player and selling it they're actually digging in and trying to find role player content from the past so they can import their characters and there's that continuity between the games and that's something that not a lot of board games do usually in board games they're the publisher typically cuts the cord on prior iterations of a game it doesn't allow you to kind of bring things forward like that in every single case now it doesn't always work in every single case but these two games they do function differently role player is very different feel and vibe in terms of how it operates versus what's going on in adventures but in terms of what you're doing by actually having a character and building that character up is in essence the same thing so that's why that tie-in really made a lot of sense and i love it i think that was a smart choice in their behalf like i mentioned and i'm definitely gonna be tabling this thing a lot showing it to a whole bunch of people and continuing to play through this thing solo all the time so we've now run through 19 games here in this list we're at the final game and i'm guessing there's a number of you guys that have already pinned what is going to be in this top slot as we've led all the way up to it sleeping gods from red raven games from ryan locket if you play games like near and far and above and below in the past you'll know what ryan lockett has been doing over the years he and his wife put a ton of effort into the games he covers literally every aspect of it the design aspect of it the artwork aspect of it and his wife also is part of that equation as well and they pump out some pretty amazing things for just a small team working on a project and sleeping gods was really ryan lockett's biggest endeavor to date near and far for me it landed i'd say it was very good it wasn't excellent it was very good i enjoyed it i played through it i actually played with friends and as well with solo capacity but for me after a while i kind of had to let it go because it wasn't really pulling me in and the freedom aspect of the game wasn't really there and i think that's what sleeping gods really tried to do was to kind of blow the doors off of what's possible in a narrative experience by basically saying here you go here's your open c here's your ship you know go and do as you please now of course there's an overarching story throughout the game that you're following through but there's a ton of just random stuff to go explore and check out i think that's what makes the game so appealing to people is if you truly want an adventure game this this is way up there and the amount of effort that it takes to kind of you know cross all the t's dot all the eyes and these kind of you know picking and choosing where you want to go when you want to do it kind of games there's a lot there's a lot of qa that's involved in that and when it first released there were some issues here and there around that and they cleaned up some of that stuff with an faq which is very handy it's also worth mentioning not necessarily that everybody's going to enjoy the combat so certain almost like every board game out there some people are going to look at the combat and go i actually really love that puzzle of trying to hash out the combat system and other people are gonna look at it and go i don't really enjoy it as much um and other people are gonna sit there and say i don't like the philly nature of maintaining a ship like i'd rather just be kind of jumping from point a to point b as fast as possible and reading narrative and making choice like that's the joy of the game for me so i can understand some people going i don't really want to maintain the ship in the crew all the time but that's kind of part of the experience that's kind of part of what sleeping gods is trying to offer and i really do think it's a 50 50 split and then of course once you actually start experience the game further and further the maintenance of the ship becomes kind of an afterthought because you already know what you need to do as you're churning through you you kind of become it's experience really does come into play with this game you will learn how you should manage your crew as you go along and that will guide you more towards focusing on what's going on with the narrative and really pulling that in and that's where the joy of the game can be found but again everyone's going to look and see different things in this one but it was one that landed at the top of this top 20 list and that my friends is going to wrap up the top 20 solo games from a 2021 by the rolling solo community this complete list was done by my community so i had no part in it whatsoever i didn't even vote into this list but i will be putting together as i mentioned my own personal list going into 2022 you'll see that in the early portion of january really excited to drop that video for you guys giving ideas to games that i liked the most and also it's going to change based on this list that was just run through i mean i've already got games that i would switch positions with and things like that but that's the joy of making these lists no list is correct there is no correct list out there but they all can be a helpful guiding light to hopefully helping you find a game that you might enjoy and hopefully that's what you can use this video for let me know in the comments down below do you agree with the list do you have a different top five and that's something that i'd love to hear from you guys is if you have your top three or five games for the year you don't have to do 20 20 is a lot um but if you have your top three or five games let me know in the comments below and if you have more than that that's great it would be cool to just share a number of games maybe some that aren't on this list because hey just because they didn't land on this top 20 list and there's a bunch of slow games out there that are worthy of being on this list potentially um you know doesn't mean they shouldn't be mentioned so certainly mention those in the comments so other people can find them can't wait to see what 2022 has in store for us and can't wait to get out of 2021 thank you guys so much for watching and as always keep on rolling solo [Music] [Music] you
