hey there and welcome to get Indie gaming where in this video we're taking a look at 15 of My Most Wanted indie games I'm hoping to play in 20124 let's jump right into the top indie games I'm most excited to play in 2024 let's begin in alphabetical order with animal well this gives me a nice cozy feeling of nostalgia with its quite frankly gorgeous pixel art with its nodb back to games I used to play on the Sega Mega Drive or the NES all the way back when the game promises a dense atmospheric puzzle box world within a nonlinear Metroid vinia where you explore interconnected labyrinths while finding out its many secrets with the launch timeline of silk song very much still in doubt Ard wager animal well might be one of the most loved games of its type expected out over the course of the year at launch animal well is set to come to PC the switch and the PlayStation 5 expected out on March 6th on PC and the switch berserk boy with its fastpaced runand gun style of gameplay puts me firmly back in the 8 and 16bit era of my youth this seems to be the kind of a cross breed between something like Mega Man and Sonic the Hedgehog with what the developers are calling Metroid Vania elements the music here is taken care of by T Lopez the master behind other amazing work such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Streets of Rage 4 Metal Slug tactics and plenty more for me this is a day one instant buy up now cart life originally came out in 2013 on Steam with it winning multiple igf Awards before getting pulled by the developer a year later a decade on this grayscale simulation game is set to come back to steam with new story lines art styles and an updated control system the game revolves around the struggles are three Street vendors as they attempt to make a living selling coffee bagels and newspapers the game is designed to provide players with a realistic and challenging experience and if you didn't catch this a decade ago please put this on your wish lists I suspect even after a decade cart life will pack a decent thought preventing and emotionally impactful punch cart life is headed to PC sometime this year moving onwards to cat to ksmo which as this video airs has a demo on its steam homepage like all games featured in this video you can find a link to that down in the description I'm thinking this is going to be one for those who like a little bit of Base building all wrapped within real time strategy elements I used to be a huge fan of RTS games although I've fallen out of love with him in the past few years perhaps cataclysm with apparently having plenty World building something we don't tend to see in these type of games will tempt me back into the genre cataclysm is expected out on PC in the second quarter of the year I rarely cover first-person shooter games and yet Children Of The Sun is looking just that little bit different it features a lone woman sniper looking to take down members of something called The Cult one by one until she's given the good news to them all as far as I can tell this is a tactical Puzzler where you have a single bullet per level which you're able to re aim after impact it's a deaf idea and having spent time with the demo which is available as this video goes up I've enjoyed going back over the levels to figure out new ways in which to kill off those pesky cultists it all feels delightfully satisfying and something as I alluded to earlier that feels really fresh within the genre children of sun is coming out soon onto PC moving on we have ete French for summer which comes from a French Canadian team that follows a young young artist who moves to Montreal for a long summer finally enough as you can tell it's a firstperson painting game that oozes relaxation and creativity you explore and paint a quiet Canadian town and in so doing bring people objects and the world around you to life it feels a wonderfully relaxing game that drips of charm and relaxation I suspect this will be one to curl up on the sofa with a warm drink to see away an evening a is expected in early 2024 with it coming to PC at launch and given its painting mechanics he hoping it makes its way onto the switch ASAP now while admittedly I have told this story before dead static Drive is the only game I've ever played at a conference where it's drawn me to shout a very loud expletive after less than a minute playing that was all the way back at the 2019 Gamescom in Germany so it's fair to say I've been waiting on this a very long time footage here is a little bit old however dead static Drive is a road trip survival horror game within an alternate 1980s timeline USA I adore the aesthetic here with its subtle and laidback pastel color scheme all wrapped in what seems to be small town America to survive players will need to scavenge fight sneak and learn who you can and who you can't trust now I'm thinking this is going to be out sometime in 2024 and I know it's coming at launch to PC and Xbox which includes the Xbox game pass service up next another game expected out at some point in the second quarter the Garden Path is a slice of Life Sim with realtime progression both in and out of the game the developers have suggested it's been designed to be be played in short 10 to 30 minute sessions that supports a flexible play style approach based on daily errands visitors fishing gardening home design and much more all of this is based on players also discovering the secrets of the garden either alone or in a local co-op which sounds rather delightful the Garden Path is expected out first on PCS and our wager a console Port would likely follow for me one of the most interesting announcements from last year came in the form of this trailer for ghost bike in a big step change this comes from the same developer behind the ultra fighty nidhog and features a semi-open world within a paranormal cycling Adventure I'm very taken with all of this the look and feel reminds me of sable from a few years back and I'm really taken with a stripped back color palette it looks so very what's the word rustic either way the game sees you racing against other folks I think they're ghosts to unlock hidden upgrades to your bike while also exploring some of the facets of bike culture and also something that's labeled as a pro pelaton whatever that means as someone whose primary mode of Transport has been a push bike for the last couple of years I'm super Keen to see what kind of a journey this game takes me on ghost bike is expected out this year on PC the PlayStation and Xbox box platforms moving onwards and we have the wonderfully named Henry halad here you take control of the titular half-head where you're able to take control of or perhaps even possess other items you find in the game Space and in so doing you can manipulate them to solve puzzles by the looks of things it's a similar concept to the one we know from playing with Cappy in Super Mario Odyssey without the Oddity of possessing sentient being that never really sat that well to me either way what excites me most here is what seems to be a local or is it online co-op mode I can imagine this being a whole heap of fun and laughs and frustration when playing with friends and family the developers also mentioned Henry half-head comes with a wholesome story your and my wholesome might mean different things however I suspect it's something that's all warm and fuzzy or is it after all you're playing a character with only half a head Henry halfed is coming out I think at some point this year onto PC now for me hermit and pig was one of the standout game demos I played at last year's egx gaming convention in London like others have no doubt already said there are many indie games based on a similar premise to Paper Mario although hermit and pig looks likely to sufficiently differentiate itself to set it apart you play as a Hermit who lives in the woods with your truffle finding Pig where you do battle with the local Wildlife using input attack combos all done against the timer a mechanic I rather enjoyed with adding a sense of tension and release to things I also really enjoyed the interaction with the NPCs I met during the demo your reclusive nature seems to flow into these conversations that sometimes felt forced and terribly unnatural which I assume is kind of the point I'm thinking hermit and pig could be one of the sleeper hitss of this year with it coming out on PC via steam the team behind Genesis Noir are back with another musical based Adventure in the form of Nana Noir your play as a watch maker caught in a double life that collides taking you into conspiracy that brings Your Existence into question I'm expecting more of the same as we had with the original game although the developers are saying this followup will have more interactive elements they've mentioned the existence of a dialogue based detective mechanic where you will need to use deduction and Nuance to get to the bottom of the mystery you find yourself involved with as per the previous game the soundtrack will there's no doubt be another oral Delight across multiple toe tapping genres of all of the games coming out in 2024 this is right up there with my most Wanted with it likely coming to PC and the Xbox maybe this is my dream from one reboot to another the mermaid's tongue is the followup to tangle Tower a colorful crime-based puzzle game from back in late 2019 you'll be tasked here in yet again investigating another murder this time the captain of the world's strangest submarine has been found dead within a locked room alongside an ancient stone cauldron funnily enough it's up to you playing as detective Gilmore and Sally to figure out who's responsible for the death I'm drawn to this not just in how much I adored the original but how again this all looks and more importantly plays there's a demo of the game up on the steam homepage as this video goes to air with it offering a clear snapshot of what we can expect when this comes out later in the year it oozes quality slickly written dialogue and intriguing puzzles the classical score is also an added treat adding l fulls of Ambiance and Intrigue the mermaid's tongue is headed to PC with perhaps a console launch to follow at some point in the future Lo moving onwards and to something a little more sedate spilled is a little and relaxing game that should take in the region of an hour or so to complete it's an econscious title in which you clean up oil spills in your neat little boat across eight different areas you also be able to rescue animals clean up various other items to drop them off at recycling as well all of this comes from a single developer who happens to also live on a houseboat in my old home with the Netherlands I can see myself popping down to this time and time again simply to wind down and relax something I think we could all with doing just that little bit more often spilled is coming to PC up now the last but one game in this showcase for games in 2024 I'm most looking forward to playing thank goodness you're here is quite frankly a stunningly beautiful game from two chaps from up north in the UK you play as a Salesman who's rocked up to the fictional UK town of barnesworth now I swear to goodness I've honestly been to this kind of town in the UK many many times and it looks well it looks a little shabby although I'm hoping it's really full of heart and warmth on the inside it's seems you're tasked with helping the town's folk with a number of tasks and jobs here and there about the place in what the developers have said comes in the form of Comedy sketch show devices that combine with laughs and platforming there's clearly a nod to some of the great UK comedy Outlets such as the bino magazine viz and Monty Python so I'm really Keen to see how all of this develops when it comes later in the year on PC PlayStation 5 and the Nintendo switch so if you've made it this far are many thanks let's tuck into that little surprise I mentioned at the start okay here's a little bonus aside from those in and close to team Cherry who really knows if silk song will hit the market this year or perhaps ever either way I thought I'd take a few moments to yet again shine a little light on something that doesn't need too much in the way of any more sign posting will silk song come out this year what do you think do let me know down in the comments so there we go that concludes my rundown of the indie games I'm most looking forward to in 2024 is there anything you think I've missed if so again please let me know down in the comments if you've enjoyed the video please hit that like button and if you haven't yet already please subscribe as well many thanks for watching and I'll see you all again here soon for more indie game videos
