recently i discussed the top 10 pokemon you should not use in brilliant diamond in shining pearl however what are the pokemon you should be giving a chance to well today i want to discuss that so i'm going to present to you the top 10 pokemon you should use in brilliant diamond in shining pearl the main focus of this video will be the strength the pokemon lend you during your playthrough but i will also be taking into consideration how overused or underused a pokemon might be and if they deserve to be higher or lower on this list if you enjoyed today's list make sure you leave a like on the than b-burl b-barrel is probably one of the most iconic hm slaves and for good reason learning a total of six hms only missing out on fly and defog b-barrel was easily the pokemon of choice to be many trainers personal mule in the sino games however with hm's no longer being a factor what is there to use b-barrel for now if i don't need an hm slave that's available early on then why should i be catching b-barrel well for starters b-barrel has a very unique type combination with the normal water typing b-barrel also has access to a couple really really good abilities thanks to simple and unaware with simple especially being one that really make b-barrel a good choice learning both swords dance and curse their level up this gives b-burl an actually strong way to damage other teams in game if speed was your concern you can actually relearn aquajet immediately upon evolving which should help alleviate this issue if you're a fan of b-burl hopefully you'll be able to actually put in some work with it in these games because over the last few generations b-bro has actually become a really interesting option to use in the cinah region landing it at number 10 on our list today [Music] our ninth pokemon today is probably going to surprise a lot of you guys because of how strong this pokemon is but number nine is the pseudo-legendary pokemon garchomp guard chomp is easily one of the strongest pokemon in the entire region due to its typing since dragon and dark overall should help you against a plethora of battles such as flint vulchner and byron to name a few not only that but we also have multiple strong moves that can learn through tms such as earthquake and dragon claw as well as swords dance to boost your damage so with all this in mind why do we have garchomp at number nine well for one it's just such an obvious choice but putting the overused aspect aside there are more reasons one of the biggest concerns when using guard chomp comes from its encounter gibbel was found in a very specific area of the cave and it's a bit hard to find gibbel to begin with here anyway not only this but you also need to spend a majority of the game without garchomp which only adds to why this ranks so low on our list evolving at level 48 is definitely a long time to be using a bite for what is probably around vulchner or victory road finally even though they're a bit rare in sinnoh you also have to fight against the newly added fairy type now there aren't a lot but pokemon such as togekiss azumaril and clefable could all prove dangerous for guard chomp however the typing thankfully is far and few between [Music] our eighth option today aside from the starter pokemon is actually one of the easier pokemon to obtain as long as its encounter method remains the same eighth on today's list is lucario all you need to do is go through iron island with riley and he'll give you an egg for ryolu once you make it to the end this pokemon should help you against a good portion of late game battles such as byron and the snow point city generator despite lucario's strong matchups in the late game there is a huge issue with using lucario at this point in your adventure lucario has to evolve through happiness which using a ryolu by the time you're at the sixth gym is really hard to actually justify a lot of players probably chose a different fighting type by now such as infernape that are far earlier encounters for those of you who are patient enough and willing to evolve rylo through happiness so late in your adventure lucario will be a very dependable pokemon to use and the later portion of your journey which earns it a spot at number 8 on today's list even though hm's are no longer required we still have to use the cino regional bird our number seven is probably one of the best regional birds we have and that would be star raptor star raptor despite no longer needing to be your designated fly pokemon is still a very valuable asset to any in-game team being one of the few normal flying type that can damage steel types thanks to close combat staraptor is not to be messed with by any means you can encounter this as early as your first route meaning starraptor can be utilized for any battles such as gardenia or a flying typing would be useful for not only this but it also evolves at a fairly reasonable level unlike other pokemon on the list today the biggest sting that would hold staraptor back honestly would come in the form of there being no reliable normal attacks first raptor this generation while normal isn't the most beneficial stab missing out on double edge in return really hurts the raptor overall you're basically forced to use facade giga impact or takedown if you'd want a normal attack bdsp was definitely very rude to our regional bird this generation and with the strong normal attacks at his return you could have probably seen staraptor in our top 5 today because of this however i would say staraptor has to end up at number 7 on today's list [Music] our sixth option today is a bit of a special choice as it's shared by two pokemon and isn't something i normally recommend those pokemon are jirachi and mew these two mythicals are both gift pokemon you can obtain in flor aromatown with jirachi being obtained by having a sword and shield save file on the same switch meanwhile mew is obtained by having let's go pikachu and eevee save data both of these pokemon are strong psychic types and have a wide variety of moves you can use on your adventure they're basically handed to you for having played the other switch games which i assume a lot of you guys buying bdsp have already played at least one of i think the biggest reason these pokemon don't rank higher is due to the fact a lot of their best moves come at either very high levels or tms draerati's first good psychic move comes at level 28. however you can't learn a good steel type move until level 49 through meteor mesh mew is even worse off not loading psychic until level 100 of all things if you have strong tms though this can at least be made up for thankfully tms are single use again in these games of course so that definitely will be a bit more of a detriment than it would be in modern games such as sword and shield or x and y but i don't think it should be too much of a problem considering we'll be able to get our hands on more than one of them during our journeys there's also the fact that some people just like avoiding legendary pokemon on their teams as they'd prefer to use pokemon that aren't as broken mythic they're mythical pokemon however unlike using a pokemon such as dialga or palkia these are definitely a lot less inherently op pokemon to use thanks to how poor their level up movesets are and how they have no extremely over-the-top stats because of this jirachi and mew can both share their spot at number 6 on today's list [Music] number five is everyone's favorite little fish that could gyarados gyarados is a very easy pokemon to encounter all you need to do is fish with an old rod and any body of water to catch a magikarp magikarp sadly is pretty useless until it evolves however the value gyarados will be for any team is really high gyarados has some incredible moves and the type combination alone will help you across a good amount of battles such as flint and bertha gyarados thankfully learned some really strong water attacks just by leveling up so does waterfall at level 21 and aqua tail at level 32 with good coverage such as crunch and ice fang also being available if you're willing to put in the time to train up magikarp i would highly recommend using gyarados thankfully this is a lot easier than it would have been in the original games this is because of the exp being on straight from the get-go and leveling up all your pokemon at once this means you don't have to dedicate an experience share to magikarp just because it's your weak link since you'll gain experience on it just by having it on your team for any fans of gyarados i would personally recommend this as your water type in the center region [Music] our number four option is probably the strongest grass type in the game being rose raid rose raid is a fairly easy pokemon to obtain thanks to the early access for badoo your level up moves may not be the greatest but you have giga drain in synthesis available as a relearn move in these games thankfully rose raid is very valuable against battles such as bertha crasher wake and even a good amount of cynthia's team there are definitely a couple big factors against rose raid in these games however despite how strong rose raid is similarly to gyarados it's a pain to evolve needing to evolve a badoo through happiness and then a rosalia through a shiny stone you definitely need to jump through a bit of hoops just for rose raid however once you obtain one it is able to become an invaluable member of your team but do thankfully won't be as useless of a pokemon early on as magikarp however i wouldn't exactly say that it's a strong pokemon either if you can get past the difficult evolution methods however i would highly recommend using rose raid on your roster [Music] our bronze medalist today is none other than toxicroak toxicroak is honestly probably a bit surprising to a lot of you guys but it has a lot going for it in the cineregion actually for one toxic croak is one of the few fighting types of coverage that's able to actually help you against the newly added fairy typing toxic croak also has fairly strong coverage such as dark pulse or rock tomb with a very strong offensive stat line both physically and specially and unlike our past couple pokemon toxic crook is actually really easy to level up while still having multiple strong match-ups in the later portion of the region the biggest disadvantage to using toxicroak mostly comes from the method of obtaining it sadly you have to obtain this through the great marsh which means you're unable to actually damage krogunk before catching it if you have good luck with catching crow gunk you'll be pretty set from this point as your encounter should be pretty close to its evolution level the only disadvantage you'd really have with toxicroak is just the fact that we have one other fighting type that is far easier to obtain that would be ranking above toxic croak today as good as fighting is we don't want to make ourselves two weak delusions team in the elite four by running multiple fighting types especially when toxic croak is times 4 week the psychic [Music] our runner-up today is a massive fan favorite being infernape infernape is probably one of the few pokemon in these games that actually has no real drawback since you're able to obtain it so easily as your starter infernip has good coverage for a good amount of bosses really only struggling to defeat crasher wake bertha and lucian's teams infernape also has a lot of strong moves to assist in these battles such as grass not for bertha and wake or u-turn to at least get out of bad situations in any of these battles infernape also has better offensive stats as well as being faster than toxicroak who we already mentioned was a strong pick in these games there really is no reason to avoid picking inferno badgers starter if you're going for the most optimal pokemon especially because it's the only good fire type in the entire region to choose from with all of these strong points though what pokemon ended up in first place the only pokemon that's stronger than infernape comes in the form of our number one being clefable clefable already was a very strong option due to its normal typing providing a very wide move pull in-game however clefable has only become even more broken in these games thanks to the new fairy type clefable is one of the only fairies you can obtain in the main storyline with the others being pokemon said as a zoom roll and maybe toga kiss depending on when or if we get it as an encounter in these games clefable's move pull as previously mentioned is very wide with several random coverage moves such as thunderbolt and ice beam to help with whatever battles you need if you're playing a hardcore nuzlocke you can even utilize moves such as moonlight in order to keep your clefable healthy which only adds to its potential in-game the only real drawback here would be needing to evolve it with a stone however with the zoom roll you'll need to evolve an azural through happiness to even get meanwhile togekiss is another stone evolution which just has worse coverage than clefable because of this clefable is certainly your strongest fairy type option and it's also the best pokemon to use when taking on brilliant diamond and
