hey everybody Scout crafty here again mishmash Monday hope you had a great weekend uh we have a few things to get to today a real MH um first of all I got a little bit of video from last week that got kind of edited out on Thursday we had our Long Island tool meet we haven't had one now in like four months because it's every other month to begin with and we missed last month because it's it's too close to the holiday so they don't have it so we haven't been there for a while and the guys were really raring to go and we had a wonderful show let me show you just some Snippets of how fantastic the show was I got two of them look at this I opened my mouth and said the wrong thing hey What's happen I know a friend of mine just restored a bunch of them and they were all that style ice picks he called all right this way I will not I will not forget one all right all right let's see now so you're probably going to harder to find those [Music] used I like to buy the first three gear okay 20 bucks okay I'll do that because that was uh Chris to show you how it came out I did a video on came out nice got you while in the uh yeah I like that we're good nice there little Ambiance did you get anything rph oh yeah oh I got I got the gold I got gold what where is it yeah uh this over here right that thing $3 $3 right you got it now Chris marked everything on this table at a dollar all those planes and everything $1 Everything's a [Music] Dollar don't know our good buddy Bruce and here at Mike's table check this out have you ever seen a vintage wire brush that wasn't rusted that's a that's a find right there now I can't tell you what a great bunch of guys that we have uh that show up and um just fantastic people and we have some great conversation a lot of people you know showed up and it was uh fun and I I did get a little nuts I know I stopped buying tools but I just when Chris Chris is like an enabler when he comes with his you know $5 everything on the table table and he has he has great stuff and and then at the end of the night when everything turned to a dollar I just I can't help it I go off the wagon I go off the wagon so uh let me show you some of the things I'm not going to show you everything because some people gave me some stuff and everything we're going to go through it during the week but let me show you some of the things I picked up and let me know if you would have picked it up okay I'm going to try and go through some of the things I picked up that I find you might find interesting like I did I don't know the this vendor's name but he's such a great guy and we talk all the time I got the Bell from him the boxing Bell you know what this is here this is some of you oldtimers will know especially if you have a plumbing background this here is a set um and what this is isn't it beautiful what this is is it's for um for cutting seats on on when you do your shower valves and forets and things like that before you put the new um washer in you're really supposed to cut it to trim it down or whatever and this does that and these are all the Cutters that here and these were expensive back in the day but now the new showers they don't have these type but I have the old showers that do in my house and these are the Cutters each one has a different one and you put this on the the thing and you run it through and it cleans up your seat and if you've ever if you've ever used it you'll know it's a good I paid $10 but you'll know it's a good deal if you haven't used it you'll say what the heck was doing good everything's going fine and Chris comes in and he dumps a whole bunch of boxes of tools on the table and he puts a sign $5 each you know so there were a couple tools that I actually this is a an adjustable scraper that would make a great project for the show I know You' like to see that but you see how this swivels and you tighten it up and then you use a scraper great tool it still works good today nice pair of uh garden shears right the kind we like this one will clean up really it's in really good shape it's got the some of the original color on there uh I can never pass these by especially at $5 right this is a pair of never sink and uh I've done a couple of these on the channel and it's got the replaceable jaws and the Jaws are in fantastic shape what a beautiful pair surface rust we can easily do these if you want to see them done I picked up a couple of these uh box rulers now I have a few of these but a few of you were asking how to clean these up and this is about as dirty as they get and I thought it would be a good project if you want to see it done um H here a pair of starart uh calipers look at these huh you know uh These are nice huh but they just need cleaning up and and they do clean up nicely even though I have uh already some of them um what else oh yeah this one here a lot of you have been asking to see one of these done with a custom handle not wood like a custom Maybe a delin or something if you want to see that done I thought this be a good candidate for that cuz look how now the ordinary person would look at this and go it's Rusty junk but you know from doing Restorations you know you say wow that's in mint shape it's just surface rust you know so it's in good shape that uh what else oh this here this thing now you know I have a couple of these spring scales but nothing like this one this one's cast cast metal or it's heavy I don't know how much this thing weighs but you can see the capacity of this goes up to 300 lb when do you see them go up to tree and this thing is really we were pulling on this thing we could just get about 80 PBS isn't that nice I mean but it could be cleaned it really don't need much but the it's amazing to me that these things still work after so many years um what else that's about and then when at the end of the night when Chris everybody was kind of shutting down Chris takes away to $5 say everything on the table is a dollar and once he did that oh so what are you gonna do you have to buy this kind of stuff so this is uh I'll go through what this is when we clean it up but for you machinist out there you know what this is definitely worth a dollar beautifully made um this here will clean up real nice it's almost like a protractor but these do clean up and I want to show you that I thought you'd like can see that on the channel also uh what else oh yeah this now you know I'm not a playing guy as you know but for a dollar I thought you would find this interesting this is from what Jamie tells it's a german-made uh plane and you can see it's just a nice one this one has a lot of time on it I guess huh for a dollar and uh maybe don't know what these Cutters are there are certain type of Cutters it says the box says whis I don't know but they the spring type so that's nice right so like I said when things get cheap you can't avoid it it's like they suck you in now our good friends Roger and Mike were there and they gave me a few things for the show which I'll go on later but this here I I purchased from uh look at this look at these beautiful crowd look at the ornate I've never seen this type before and you can see here they're called the giant Nipper it's got the beautiful hand embellishments isn't that nice and these are just in in beautiful sh look at the shape these are in you know um giant Nipper never seen these before but they're just lovely pick those up and and he this is funny Lenny said check this out Lenny was showing me what the I got this too remember we just did these now we just did these right the uh what's the number here 3057 the C you see it's now I told you there were two type they made they had this one with this handle embellishment and then this one with that handle embell you see the difference the two uh difference I don't know which one I think this one was earlier I'm not sure but um and you can see that there's a difference in the the nut here this one here has like a a regular nut I don't know if that's original to it this one looks like it might be I don't know but this will nice clean up but we have both now versions pretty interesting and then I got something from Mike I thought you would get a kick out it let me show you this now these These are traditionally these tool sets they were kind and you know me I like gimmicky stuff but these were made in Germany and they were very often given his gifts and things like that you would give your father or Father's Day or something but has a leather case obviously it's an old one the leather has seen better days but when you open it up look at here it's one of these kits that have the mult tools you know the hammer but what I found so interesting is some of the unusual tools that are in this kit and it is complete which is kind of hard and they're not tore up because they weren't the best steel and stuff but you could see here the Phillips is in perfect shape so none of these tools were really used and which a lot of times they weren't they were put in a drawer or in the back of a car and that's where they stayed here's the handle that would lock in You Had A Hammer this one here is a chisel you had the different Phillips here check this out something you never see on one of these kits and again how it works is you put that in you cinch down on the uh the locking collar here and it locks down a little bit of probably lubricant needed here to uh there we go and do you see what this is here this is a a screw holding screwdriver isn't that it you know when do you see that in one of these kits you slide this up over the the screw to hold it this one here is a a pretty heavy and substantial oil this one here a flat bladed screwdriver look at this a glass cutter you don't see that in one right here it goes in here put that in now you got your your glass cutter the you know scribe and cut glass or whatever um this one here interesting again you don't see too often this one here is a flexible screwdriver and a tack puller so I thought that was pretty interesting right and again you can see here says case and right case and it says made in Germany can you see that very nice right that was five my good buddy George came down uh Magneto man you know from from Instagram George and I could talk for hours we have so many interests in common but he had these and I said I got to pick these up from you George only because uh I said every everybody's you know this 357 magad and all the other guys are getting these type of uh Stanley screwdrivers that you know this shape there it's like the big rage you know and I said I got to see what the big wild what what it is especially when they're almost like NOS condition right they're in good shape so I said I got to see what what all the the uh the hype is about so that's why we picked those up from George but George had a beautiful set of screwdrivers that I said you know I was going to buy him I said you're not leaving there but I wanted I was hoping somebody else would pick him up and sure enough my good friend mock picked up these screwdrivers $10 for the set they were just absolutely beautiful I was so glad he got them this is interesting I don't know what it is Mike came up to me and we were joking we had all kinds of jokes about what this is but you could see here it's uh it looks some like some kind of multi-tool it's got the hammer here it's got a nail puller here which I can't even see the nail puller working because you got this thing blocking it like if you tried to pull the nail this is going to it's the most funny but it seems like it's a bayonet almost you know like it's got some kind of pry bar maybe a for for tubes or whatever and um it's got a red handle here but it's Square it's not comfortable I don't know I just we were laughing about it I said I got to I got to get it just to show the channel what do you think this is I can't even how would you use this nail puller let's say you had a nail you get under it now you got this thing unless it's on a board like this that you can do that I don't know have you ever seen anything so crazy and first of all as a hammer even Mike was joking he goes how do you use the hammer when you got to grab the the kind of the blade the sharp blade I said maybe there was some kind of sheath that was like a handle you know that went on and strapped over what do you think what do you think of now as far as a lot of times guys bring down stuff that could you find might find interesting uh in the show so like my buddy Neil he brought down this uh Master Lock and he's remember these matches used to be given out years ago to uh as advertisement imagine giving matches out today like nobody would even think about that but this was so popular years ago like there was you know you would always wind up getting matches from somewhere it was a good way to advertise but no they wouldn't even think of that now but he said knowing I collect locks he said what do you think about this and uh you know what this is this is a military a military you can see it says us set and set means it's how this works and this is a military padlock first of all the military has special uh certain certifications or specifications rather that um they require for their locks one of them is that it would be rust resistant up to a certain point that's why this is brass secondly it has to have so many many the key you know so many tumblers whatever and uh when you put the key in here which is pretty interesting that when you put the key in watch what happens when I turn the key nothing happens because one of the um specifications for a military lock is that it doesn't you can't remove the key when the lock is open you see lock is open I can't get the key out that's why I don't have that spring open so in order to get the key out you have to lock the lock again then the key will release I don't know if that's done so people won't forget or get locked into the building if they leave it hanging there open whatever the case may be you can't leave you have to take the key out in order to uh in order for this to lock interesting right that's all military locks that have this us set that you'll see our good friend Lenny brought down a couple of uh nice spark plugs you see what these spark plugs it's funny you see Asel or these plugs are from a Harley-Davidson motorcycle interesting look at the gap on this we were laughing right what do you think the Gap is on that plug right there think it's a little close but uh the electrodes are fine these will clean up real nice but they're made in Japan Holly Davidson plugs so that's cool and like I said about Mike and Roger they're always interested in seeing what you think about certain things Roger came over to this and he asked me d goes you ever seen one of these before and I said I gotta tell you for some reason it looks familiar but I I don't I don't and I'm some of you might out know it's it looks like it's missing a screw here maybe or something but maybe that would open this up and down whatever this is there's uh it opens like this it has a little screw that adjust this almost looks like maybe a glass breaker or something like that I don't know if you know what it is let us know in the comment Roger thought you know somebody out there would know I think Mike I had one of this this thing too I was showing this on the I don't know what this is looks like it's meant to break something right it's got uh like finic tips here two round portions here so what would you put in here and this little thing is blunt like a glass Tu what would you break what would you have to break here right you would put something in there and that might snap it do you know what that is let us know in the comments and this here too this is Mike gave this to me but uh to go with that plumbing set this is actually a tool to take the seats the plumbing seats out of the the foret it's got two different types you know that now our buddy Ralph has been doing really good on teu now I've never done any of that but he he's a computer with so he's uh obviously went on there and he gets all kinds of good stuff at good prices you know especially things like disposables that we might use like these epoxy mix mixing cups or even for pouring paint or whatever you can not only mix there's two different ways you could pour it you could pour it out the side here or you know you could hold it here it's got kind of a spout for dripless pouring and these are really cool and also obviously wood Q-tip or made of bamboo so they're strong Q-tips and these are relatively inexpensive especially if you buy them in bulk but this was really cool you see this goes onto your drill and he says you know how I'm always mixing up like old paint that's uh 50 years old this would be perfect for that put on your drill and you go into your can of paint and uh nice so those was are really great our body Brian gave me this sign which is I think just in time because I think with my new neighbors I'm going to need this sign because you know there's always that encroaching kind of thing that happens when you move into a new people move into a new neighborhood they're always kind of you know trying to step a little closer until you say hey hey you know you got to back off what whatever the case so I think this is going to come in real Handy unfortunately real soon but nice no parking now our good friend Mike Defan gave me a a whole bunch of great electrical stuff unfortunately his uncle passed and his uncle had a bunch of great stuff in his house but he grabbed some things you know for me and it's so funny he grabbed this switch I'm my switch just went in my light upstairs and this is a an old you know NOS Levon uh rotary pull switch which is always great to have another you know socket pull switch I love this stuff hose mending you ever have to you ever break a hose this is the good ones you get one of these it's brass and uh you tighten them up these are good they don't leak but then they have the other type they have the ones that are this is the ones you're pretty much getting out of the plastic ones and whatnot but these are all good he had a lot of nosd sockets are great heavy duty look how nice these are look at that huh this is the kind you want to put on a good cord it's got to be UL listed and it's made USA it's like a nylon it's not a plastic really nice but what Mike had what was interesting and he threw in my bag cuz he kept so me looking at this how great is this do you know what this is obviously you know it's a horseshoe but they had different types of horseshoes back in the day and this one could be used for like mud or snow look at the grip you would get on that now you obviously you would use this let's say if maybe seasonal because you're not going to just slip them all you can't just put them on for a snowstorm and then take them off cuz when shoes go on they stay on for quite a while but interesting right or or maybe it's for maybe some of you guys have used these out there that guys that maybe own horses or something or have seen these before but they a lot of times for the other they had things that would screw in so you could take them off and on and leave the original shoe on but I never seen this type of shoe before have you these three wrenches were a gift from my good buddy Richie Kemp and uh we're going to be getting to these very soon so I'll talk more about them when we get to them but what great wrenches these are and they are three different sizes and I picked up another size while I was there so we'll get to those real soon so as you can see there was quite a bit of stuff there I wound up coming home with and I you know I was going to limit myself to one half of a bucket of tools because you can't really it's hard to come back with less than a bucket of tools but I've been good uh let me know in the comments what you would like to see done and and and according to how many requests I get for the same item I I'll move that really high up on the list of getting it done but there are a couple things are going to do this week starting Wednesday that we'll get back in service cleanups or some will be cleanups some will be Restorations let me know what particular items sometimes an item jumps out at people and they're like oh I want to see that done so let me know in the comments I hope you uh thanks very much for coming along to the show I hope you have a great start of your week we'll see you again on Wednesday take care now bye-bye [Music] by
