[Music] hey everyone I'm Tommy cherry and today I'll be teaching Tim on how to solve clock using the seven simal method our goal for today is to have him do one solve without my help by the end of the video using seven simal um Shall We Begin yeah so I think the best way for us to do this is that I just scramble it up and then we just go through I'll show you how to do it on an actual scramble cuz it's just the process you're going to use like every time okay so it really doesn't matter which orientation you're holding it from yeah uh so just start from a random orientation right so you're going to look at these two down here so the bottom Edge and the right Edge you're pretty much going to see what this one has to do to get to here uh six right yeah now you're going to flip it over and then look at these two what does this one have to do to get to here uh minus two yeah so then add those two together uh so four yeah okay so four is our first move now we're going to see what this has to do to get to here uh it's minus 4 right yep and then what this has to do to get to here andus one so that's - 5 no no no it's just its own thing so 4 - 4 - one okay now from this angle we're literally going to do the same thing we just did so look look at these same clocks again uh but now that we're on the other side right so one and then this to here uh that's minus one so zero yep so zero and then to here uh minus two yep and then uh plus four so it's ne44 and it's Standalone so it's 0 - 2 and - 4 yeah um okay so like I lowkey forgot already it was uh it was 4 -41 and then 0 - 2 - it's over how do you remember that basically it's six numbers six numbers and like the best way to do it is to like convert them to letters but like if the thing is since you don't already have a letter per system we're just going to stick with numbers okay when I said the goal for this video I didn't say with you inspecting under 15 seconds okay so you could also just like memo part of it execute part of it flip it over memorize that's cheating that's okay and then we have to have like a specific pin position so this is what it is when we start out so all of them up except for this one uh-huh and then so our first two things were four and-4 okay so here's what we're going to do we're going to do the four with our left hand and the negative four with our right hand okay so is the second move always the inverse of the first one but no no no it was no this just happened to be inverses put this one down yeah and then our so with our left hand we're going to do an intuitive move we're going to match this edge up with this Edge okay um and do our third uh number with this hand which was a one I believe okay and by the way like it's really conf confusing now but when we flip it over we're going to do the exact same thing for the second half of the solve so I think it'll make more sense yeah put this down we're just this next whole move is intuitive we're just making this whole block so like bottom right block we got to do this adjust the diagonal once flip it okay thankfully we did it from the right orientation so that's good yeah um it was 0 to-4 for the second half is it not 02 you're right you're right yeah okay 0g -24 so we'll do the zero with our left hand and then the -2 with our right hand okay put this down with our left hand match these yeah and with our right hand do the last one the ne4 okay and then okay we actually just straight up got to skip cuz like normally we would have to do something from this pin position to like make this whole block in the bottom right but like we just got lucky which block this 2 x two Block in the bottom yeah and which pin would you do that with for the making the block from this pin position so we would match the center with these using our left hand use our right hand to match the corner okay by the way the good thing about this method you never have to turn a d dial it's always clock and then this is like the a of clock we're just with the diagonal pins up we're just aligning everything what okay that like make sense sure yeah um okay now I'll we'll just like take it from the top I guess cuz obviously you won't remember that just from one example yeah um like I need to memorize the order of like what to turn honestly like we could just do it like with the clock being solved cuz you just you have to know like which pieces are involving moveed so do you happen to remember what it is for the first game so you go like this oh oh I just mean before even execution just memo like you want okay I don't remember what do for memo so this to this yeah so this to this flip it over yeah and then and then this to this this you add those two things together yeah and then you go like this and then like this Y and then separate yeah from this angle you'll do the same thing so you go what do you do at the start this to this like that then flip and then like this or or up up okay so you go down and then up mhm and add those together yeah okay and then from this angle you literally just do the same thing so like just yeah yeah that yeah and then flip over again so then up and then yep and then you'll start executing from this angle okay so then our first pin position yep so what are our moves from this position well so at first one would be uh let's do this well like based on what we memo so like with your left hand you'll do the first number and with your right hand you'll do the second number yeah okay you know what our next pin position would be you put this down and then uh same thing so this is third and this is so no no no this is third this one's actually intuitively um just matching these two edges uh what you do uh bottom and right okay so you just turn these so it matches this yeah okay then third move with with with um your right hand yeah and then from this pin position you'll make the bottom right block right and do you not turn with your left hand at all you do cuz like this won't necessarily be matching with these so then you have to match the center yeah so with your left hand you'll be adjusting the center with your right hand you'll be adjusting this corner okay and then you kind of flip two of the pins diagonally uh so I probably recommend FL uh adjusting the pins before you flip like like put this up and put this down yeah now we're going to do the same exact thing so how many numbers per side is it for remember like once you're executing you execute three of your memorized numbers flip it execute your other three memorized numbers and the rest of the solve is intuitive yeah so this would be numbers one and two like one and then this is two y on the second side or fourth and fifth but what you're saying uh and then you put this down and then this is your number and this is intuitive um yes okay and then you put this down and then it's both intuitive so you match this to these two and the corner to these two yes and then your last thing is like a so then you put this up and I think you got it already like I think you're ready to do it that is so hard okay so I go here to here which is minus 4 right yep and then I flip mhm okay I go up here which is uh- 4 again is that-- three okay oh how how do you add it up when it's past six so it becomes -7 right yeah so then you just add 12 to it cuz like you offset it by it's just one right no so you have -7 right yeah okay so that becomes a five cuz that's 12 away from five think about it on like a number line like7 is like seven in the left Direction adding 12 to it is like a full 360° orbit around yeah okay let see like for Just For example let's say you had A8 yeah well that would be four okay you got it yeah it's just harder when it's seven I'm not that good at adding numbers I mean okay I mean with within a few solves you'll like start to see the same thing come up over and over again and then it'll make more sense okay so the first two are they add up to seven five yeah five and then you go uh here to here which which is two and then you have this which is minus 2 yep just don't forget thanks so you have five two and minus two yeah 5 2 - 2 okay and then you go five and then - 3 mhm so that's two mhm then you go that - 5 okay so 2 - 5 and then - 3 yeah 2 - 5 - 3 and it was the first side 52- two 52- two okay how do you memorize six numbers though this is very hard I think since you're just learning right now just like brot force it just like review it a lot of times okay I can try that you're to remember it for me though so 5 2 - 2 5 2 - 2 and then 2 five 2 - 5 2 - 5 - 3 yeah 5 2 - 2 and then 2 - 5 - 3 okay sure and I have to remember what to thr in as well this is crazy 5 two minus two you said so now minus two is with this hand yeah and then I have to match up all this it's the this edge with this Edge this edge with this okay oh there's another intuitive move mhm so you go like that and you go good okay well probably just adjust the pins first like and put that one put yeah yeah next two - 5 2 - 5 mhm uh - 3 so okay try not to use your thumb you don't need to at all oh wait yeah I can just do that with this right yeah okay and I'm done uh no no you're not you have to do the a it's solved upside down like it's solved at 6:00 right now diagonal pins up yeah like that okay so you have to use both hands yep yep and it's solved nice that's crazy okay uh can you scramble it again let's do it I'm going to need a CH clock Tim on saying needing a chi Cube C on camera I mean it's the only CLA yeah no fair enough like I use it okay so here go + 3 - 5 that gives you - 2 0 5 - 2 0 5 - 2 0 5 - 2 0 do the same thing again so + 4 flip - one so that's three - 2 plus two oh yeah plus two and then minus two 3 2 - 2 3- okay I forgot the first side no it was- 2 05 right okay- 2 05 3 2 - 2 yep okay zero and then it's five so five mat this up no this okay intuitive move so you go like that mhm flip you want to adjust yeah like that y okay and then I have 3 two and -2 so you go three2 uh -2 masch these uping it yeah and then intuitive move like that and a well you got it right you just got to to 12:00 oh I see so you just do both of them to here yes that's crazy nice okay Improvement by like 25 seconds yeah I think on this next one you'll you'll probably be able to do it just without my help at all yeah maybe the memo is really close yeah that's the thing so how do you convert it to letters like optimally so I wouldn't recommend trying to do that today because like you have to like come up with other pairs but like if really depend like there are a bunch of different systems you can use the way I do it is like 1 2 3 4 5 6 is a b CDE e f and then five is the same thing as seven so that's G4 is 8 so H up until K but then for zero I just use o cuz o zero looks like enough sure interesting and then you like make letter pairs out of it yeah I'm going to try to not say anything yeah should I point something out if you do something wrong no I'll try doing on my own not quite all right what do I mess up if you're really I think you were supposed to do a -2 and did a -3 okay for like your second letter or second number and I couldn't tell what your remember was supposed to be for the second half of the solve so maybe you made another mistake there I'm not entirely sure sure but like you seem to just about have the process down y shall I scam back up yeah so when you're doing it and you're turning uh you know like how many like hours you're moving it without looking at it right if it's a big move like a five or a six I often have to you know look at it while I'm doing it cuz it's kind of risky if I'm not looking cuz I'm just not entirely sure whether I'm doing like a four five six maybe even overturning into a seven so yeah for big moves it's pretty helpful to like be looking at a clock that's affected directly by the move yeah timing your inspection there's another small mistake or two again I um I think one of your first three letters was off like you did it something off by a tick yeah yeah I don't know if it was I wasn't sure if I did three or four or two so just like probably just turn slowly if your goal is to like do a Sol right just like be very safe with your turning sure it's like from 2x two and 3x3 my first instinct is that if I have something planned I need to turn like Fast since I already know what I'm doing so I just like sent it and then I was like oh wait that's probably wrong yeah it's just Precision is so much more of a big deal in clock y all right that did not work I saw at least one instance where you overturned uh okay on your last letter it was supposed to be a j i -2 you did A3 okay mistake wait how I don't know which one which move it was I just know because when you flip it this should be a yeah okay start okay um your third move your third move should have been a negative one and you did a one what did you get it wait it literally would have been solved I got it but I didn't a properly just stop the timer before finishing the turn a true sign of a competitive clocker I mean I think that cast I think you accomplish that's a good place to end it [Music] let's go let's go that was your fastest inspection too I think this is probably the only one under a minute 59.3 and just barely under a minute Sol okay so what's my reward for doing all this nice yeah that'll be 30 bucks what
