Tokyo Nightlife Food Tour - GYOZA OVERDOSE and Secret Bar in Tokyo, Japan!

hey everyone good evening its mark Wiens I'm in Tokyo Japan and I'm here on the best of Tokyo food tour with the hungry tourists tonight is going to be a pretty fun night that I'm going to share with you we are meeting up with the Tokyo fixer and the Tokyo fixer his name is Shinji so we're gonna go on a little night walk I think we're gonna eat mostly some kind of Japanese fast food like okonomiyaki and yakisoba and I'll share it with you in this video [Music] yeah it's like a story in a very life but it's very you know like one typical things maybe you come to Japan and people eating comfy night [Music] we're just outside of Utah Cuchillo station and we are here to eat takoyaki and takoyaki is one of the ultimate Japanese Street food snacks octopus balls octopus batter balls and so he's making them right here in this window he pours in the batter he sprinkles in some Krispies he puts in a little chunk of octopus and then he just kind of flips and road hits them and griddle fries them into little little like oversized golf ball piece little dumplings that you eat and so we're ordering some now and you walk in here they have some seating as well but and some standing space as well and get up in the hallway and it's very rich [Music] [Music] he added on the sauce the Worcestershire sauce the mayonnaise the seaweed the chili pepper and they are yeah these are one lighters don't take that all in one bite when it's right out of the griddle that's like Oh mmm it's really good though now he's actually really good at school I like how it's like it's like runny batter yeah then you've got that like tough kind of muscular piece of octopus but at the same time it's really good when it's hot okay I've had takoyaki when it's cold and it's not good at all yeah it has to be like it has to be hot but not that hot okay and some kind of a beef stew tender beef kind of sweet yeah quite sweet but nicely stewed this one I'll bite half of it so we can all see what's inside you like it you can see how it's really kind of gooey on the inside and like half kept like runny batter on the inside [Applause] [Music] shinji described his face his only spice mix in Japan for this oh yeah now it's a very very wise idea it's a sequence set of spices okonomiyaki and this is more like a flat pink pancake but it's almost like mashed potato he then added the whole the full works of sauces and shinji pulled a genius move of bringing his own his own spice mixture to add oh [Music] that's pretty awesome actually I love all the cabbage in it in the cabbage and it's almost like mashed potatoes yep vegetables right cuz it's a little bit of a different okonomiyaki there Tokyo yeah got me so buddies just like fried noodle yeah pride [Music] probably the best thing about eating this is dressing it all and adding all the toppings and like the Hetfield's halftime they did they did a beautiful job dressing these chili this one is with noodles yakisoba in the middle viennese mayonnaise chili powder the special seasoning seaweed it's all in here very good this is just like a mess of noodles and batter and octopus and sauces and it's pretty awesome ly tasty I got to admit that that okonomiyaki it didn't look so good from its appearance but after we loaded it up with all those spices it was it was pretty tasty it was really good and this place is called Osaka hey hey I got then it's right at you Takuto station yard station this is the spot [Laughter] [Music] I'm not really sure where we're going next but we are jumping onto the jr train right now [Music] shinpachi Shimbashi yeah this is the mecca of Japanese in Japanese businessman okay Sebastian Bakshi station yeah there's so many directions you can go and you're at the station at don't you hot club in the Japanese businessman they need and they need a place to hang up after a hard-working the flesh well there are a lot of flashing lights and signs around this area there are little bars there little restaurants it's quite a party yeah party atmosphere here yeah pretty cool place we a mission bocce [Music] once our local bar in the world and also the sports bar but also the best bar like so many good places in Tokyo you gotta walk into the base now when we sit up or down oh okay this is a kind of dark basement here Shinji goes over on this side Oh everyday that's right all right in here okay yeah six stools yeah six stools it's like it's literally like a walk-in closet so the most of the Korean man [Music] [Music] [Music] just sat here and watched him in eyes he made it he cut the eye the ice is amazing he chops these giant cubes of ice to fit perfectly in the cup and it's a really like paper thin glass cup then he ya symbol that drink kissed this he's a beautiful man he just he's like a scientist as he mixes and prepares this drink it's just absolutely beautiful oh it's amazing the ice here is absolutely amazing and he makes it using purified water but it's a really slow freezing process so that it it's extremely clear it's crystal clear and it also it also takes a while longer to milk thank you very much thank you very much [Music] okay we're just leaving the the clot Lands End bar really cool place he's really a friendly guy in that ice that's the coolest ice I've ever seen that's for sure and the complete opposite in a good fine because he looks very happy he does right definitely he's happy what he does definitely [Music] that's the key in Tokyo yeah faces on the guys Shinji just mentioned that all the good spots are down the side streets we took a side street and we are walking into a little place what are we gonna eat here have tons of gilda oh okay eight nine ten eleven twelve different killer I'm gonna put my full trust in you yeah yes this is the new additional four what is this it's a Japanese potatoes oh that's delicious that U is so creamy so we got a bunch of different plates of gyoza and I think some are coming this one is the original gyoza you can just see that they're just glistening with oil which is which is a good sign of a gyoza and then you can see that just crazily crunchy like pan-fried edge on that side oh look at that and these are these are all handmade yes as well okay I'm going into the sauce let it do a whole 360 in the sauce and that's fresh you can taste the the onions are though the shallots are the weeks in there there's minced meat and then the wrapper is both crispy and gummy steamed do so it's not fried nor words we're just all really good hairy Gouda and this is coriander cilantro certainly paste with there's a little heat to it this one is green chili oh yes he's doing you got to pick a look and try to look yeah green jelly oh my oh you can really taste the like pungency of the green chillis it's really really an amazing flavor next up cheese gyoza all the flavors just keep on coming cheese and mentioned at all whoa cheese is pretty awesome cheese doesn't sound that buddy very good they always come to the table so hot and fresh next up is tomato and this is their like special of the of the season I think it's pretty good tastes like a spaghetti sauce gyoza wrapper this is like a little gyoza closet and that is definitely the best USA I've ever had an amazing little place this place is called Gaudi and yeah after the famous artists and it's a that's an amazing gyoza my favorite flavor was the green chili but also the the cheese was cheese gyoza doesn't really sound good to me but it was actually amazing you've definitely got to tried green chili and cheese when you
