Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
Those barrels are tiny! I guess he's a mini cooper
I'll see myself out.
The video was very interesting, I always wondered how they made barrels.
He puts the bands on, he takes the bands off, he puts the bands on, he takes the bands off, he puts the bands on... and those aren't even the final bands! I cringed when he was adding the bevel to the lids using the bandsaw.
I love watching a master work at their craft. You watch the work and go, "OK, now here is where I'd spend some time fitting and setting up the tools" and the master just goes over and poof it's done.
That said, holy hell that is a ton of effort to get a pony keg.
r/ArtisanVideos would really like this.
Why not install the end with the hole in it last to get it into place with a finger grip? Great video OP
That was very cool. Thanks for posting. I saw so much interesting stuff in there.
I love how they used the dividers to get the radius of the end pieces. Adjust until you cover the circumference in 6 spans, that's close enough for the radius. Nice.
I have to wonder how many thousands of barrels you have to make to get hands as beat up as that.
This would have been my career 150 years ago.
Wow. I just watched a very long video of a guy in a shop, and it was enthralling.
I hope somebody in these comments links to this guy's site so I can buy one.
