hey folks that fixit guy here and today we are going to be working on this toilet right here so you can see this toilet tank is pretty long this is a devonshire 4619 toilet and it has a fill valve in it that is barely dripping out like check this out okay so what we're going to do is we're actually i'm going to show you how to take a fluid master fill valve apart all right we're going to take it apart i'm going to show you how to clean it and hopefully that fixes our issue if not then i'll change it out but i think we're going to have some success so come along let's get to fixing [Applause] these old-school fluid masters they are awesome man this is the best fill valve these guys they really know how to do it i mean this is an older model but i bet if we clean it out it still ends up working awesome as you can see this toilet it's taking a while to fill like i could let it sit here it's going to take almost five minutes this is a big tank right this is that devonshire 4619 i just replaced the flapper on here i'll put a link right up here you guys will be able to see that video and we're just going to go ahead and we're going to try to see if we can get some better flow coming out of this thing so let's just go ahead we're going to shut the water off we're just going to come right down here to the shutoff valve this particular style is a quarter turn style quarter turn on quarter turn off very easy and we just go right here this cap right here it just pops off a little difficult sometimes but you just kind of get one hand under pry it there and then you can just try to pop it off right there so now you've exposed this okay so if you take this and you if you lift this up and then you turn this counterclockwise this whole thing pops off right here so what i want to do here is i just want to put my hand over this and i want to turn the valve on so you're going to put your hand over this and you're going to turn the water valve on try to get it on full blast [Applause] without getting any water everywhere you can put a cup over it something just to see if you can clean any debris out of it right i didn't really feel anything but that doesn't mean there's not something there that something didn't get unlodged so then you'll just take this you pop it back on that way and then righty tighty just go until it goes it clicks in place you'll feel it you'll feel when it rolls and plus you can look at it and say oh that's in the same place that it was so i know that it's good take the cap pop the cap back on just does a little click make sure that it works get whatever that is off of there and you can see this right here is a little bit dirty this hose well it just needs to be clean that's it still works well functions well let's go ahead and pop that off and so just go ahead and clean this off right here let's see what we can do see if we can get that all cleaned up like look at that that's a night and day difference look at that side of the hose and that side of the hose just a little bit more in the water okay it's looking pretty good not 100 but it looks a lot better than it did okay and then we're going to blow this out again you just want to cover your hand right here okay so you can see it looks like it's working a little bit better than it did before and let's go ahead put this back on here put this back in its tube and let's turn the water back on let's go ahead and pick this up look at that oh man look at that that's definitely going way more than it had in the past it's got a low flow on it so it's not going to go super hard and there we go it actually shut off so let's go ahead and just try to get it hooked up again here okay well that that seems to feel a lot better than it did before it seems to be a little bit quicker and we'll let that rock and roll that should be good this is a quick little thing remember pop the cap off check it out there could be something blocking that you know you could also just pull this out blow that off you got a good little flow there and ready to rock and roll all right so that's how you take apart a fluid master fill valve right really easy to just clean that out and test it it's a good little troubleshooting tip that's going to save you a little time and a little trip to the store right and if you have to change it out that's not a big job either but to shut the water off pop that apart turn some water on see if you get it good flow through it it's quick it's easy i really hope it helped if you guys could please subscribe to the channel click the like button it would be greatly appreciated we're just trying to help you out and i really hope we're doing that thank you very much and we'll see you again real soon
