hey what's up this is Ken seussy here the brand manager for Fishman fluence I have an amazing announcement that we are going to release a Tim Henson Signature Series pickup as well as a Scott LePage custom Series pickup for the new fluence line you should buy them now check out fishmanstore.com buy them direct from us or go to your local dealer [Music] the story behind the Tim Henson Signature Series pickup is a cool one because at first he was coming from another company and he was just inquiring about the fluence technology in general so I wanted to send him something that I thought he'd like up front which was this the open core Classic series humbuckers and they really did spark some interest with Tim he really did like them genuinely but obviously as I said to him you have a very eclectic playing style and we need to create a product that is centered around what you do so we at Fishman opened up the Vault we gave Tim all the resources in order to develop a great sounding pickup that really really does fit his playing style and ever since we dialed it in he's been incredibly happy he's been using them live we didn't really go through many iterations we kind of voiced the pickup and we handed it off to him and he absolutely loved it and here we are now with the new Tim Henson Signature Series pickup line when it came to Scott he got word that we were working with Tim and I really wanted to talk to him because I was such a big fan of polyphia in general I wanted both guitar players on my roster Scott I sent him the classic series humbuckers and when he was playing it he actually got back to me and he was like this is exactly what I want to hear so I thought that was really cool because in a lot of cases a lot of artists want a signature series item but I said I would really like you to stand on top of the classic series line and especially if you like all the sounds the the underwound paf or the overwhelmed hot rodded sound if that's doing the trick for you you should definitely play it and he totally agreed so since Scott really liked the sound of the pickups it was all about the aesthetic and with our custom series line we usually do change some things in this case it was gold slugs and screws and at that point we finalized that product and Scott's custom series was born you're getting an incredible fluent classic tone which works for him with that gold slug and screw aesthetic with a black or white top when you listen to Scott play you'll see that whether it's voice One Voice two split coil he's always changing it up within the sound of his band and his playing style so all the sounds that are within this pickup of very very important to his playing style so voice one is your vintage paf sound it's the ideal calibrated vintage paf humbucker tone that has the perfect output so basically Fishman took a classic paf one that you would know from from Iconic records from way way way back and the goal was always to just give it a little more juice and that's what we do foreign voice two is a classic Hot Rod it's the quintessential hot rodded Bridge humbucker without any of the baggage so basically you're not getting any crazy hum it's just a rip your face off kind of tone very very articulate but but angry and I know Scott really really gravitated towards this time voice 3 is a slightly overwhelmed single coil tone as far as the neck humbucker goes voice one is again a vintage paf tone it's the ideal exclusive paf neck tone with the Dynamics and output level that you would want foreign it's a fluents exclusive neck tone with unreal highs mid-range and tight tight lows again voice three in the neck is a very clear vintage single coil [Music] thank you foreign fluids humbuckers for our modern series humbuckers which has ceramic blades and it's a certain type of sound and pickup but if you are a passive player someone that has like slugs and screws in there in their guitar and likes that passive sound this is the ideal sound for you I don't think you'll ever find more organically Rich tones than what we have to offer here in our Classic series line as well as the Scott LePage custom Series humbucker so when we approached the voicing session with Tim obviously we had specific songs from his catalog in mind as well as he did he had to reach certain type of tones within his set without having to change a guitar so that was probably the most important hurdle we had to overcome but with fluence because we offer up to two voicings sometimes three in this case it's three we were able to fit everything that Tim needed right into his signature series pickups so basically we started off with the magnet configuration we found that he gravitated towards Alico 5 magnets in this case you'll see that his pickups have two rows of screws rather than a set of screws and a set of slugs like you see in our Classic Series humbuckers so let's start off with Tim Henson's Bridge Signature Series humbucker so when I originally sent him the classic open core pickups he definitely gravitated towards voice two first and that was basically a hot rodded aggressive muscular sound so when we were sitting in the voicing session he referenced that but he wanted to base his tone off of our hot rodded classic voice so basically we're giving you the quintessential Tim Henson lead sound that is a tone of a generation [Music] voice two is a combination of Tim's favorite Bridge humbucker so at the time when we were doing this voicing session he had a couple pickups that we were like okay he likes this one for this reason and another for that so we were able to kind of take the perfect characteristics out of the two and merge them into one and we arrived at a really really strong voice two sound for Tim voice 3 is Tim's ideal single coil combination tone when used in conjunction with the neck oil if you don't know what that means when you get your set of Tim pickups you can just check out the preferred wiring diagram and you can wire your guitar exactly like how Tim does [Music] [Applause] so now we'll move over to the neck tone Tim's voice one is a thick yet smooth neck humbucker sound [Laughter] and voice two he wanted to go a little bit off the rails with so it's a very very hyper clean nylon string circuit he plays as you know if he if he has a nylon in his hand there's a lot of polyphia music with nylon but in this case this particular voice too allows him to play some of that without having to move to a whole new guitar [Music] and voice three is Tim's fluid next single coil tone [Music] if you're a fan of Tim Henson and polyphia the band you will definitely love Tim Henson's Signature Series pickups because you're going to get all the tones that Tim gets from using his pickups again these aren't pickups that he has specifically in his guitar that are different from the ones that you're buying they are the exact same pickups that Tim has in his guitar which is his true tonal benefit but if you are not familiar with Tim Henson or polyphia and you are just a fan of great great classic passive tones then this is the set for you as I said before Scott LePage is using our universal battery packs but Tim also is a huge fan of our universal battery packs actually if you were to flip over his Ibanez signature guitar you'll see that he is using our Strat Style universal battery pack which gives him 200 plus hours of use and it's always a consistent nine volts so if that battery were to ever run out you could just plug it in recharge it and get another 200 hours out of it so you don't have to keep going out and buying nine volt batteries so if you're a true Tim Henson fan and you as a player are trying to achieve the same type of playing goals or same tonal goals I highly suggest that you get the Tim Henson Signature Series pickups but if you are a fan of vintage passive sounds and you have a gold guitar that's just kind of like sitting in your house and you want to finish it off with some cool Fishman Classic series style humbuckers that have that gold aesthetic you should seriously look into the Scott LePage custom series pickups thanks for watching all the way through this video and don't forget to pick up your set by clicking the links below [Music] thank you foreign [Music]
