Tilting Antenna Mast and Tower Part 2

all right there YouTube back with part two my antenna Mast I mean post here post and Mast um since the last video I installed the boat winch it's a hand crank good for a thousand pounds which is more than enough for just here a little weight okay whip here we have our pulley now I finished this up yesterday just as you see it the only difference is this here attach point I had to completely change I originally had a bolt through right here with an eye eyelet and and then I attached the other two pipes which total 40 feet well that was a mistake that was a big mistake this here literally walked the pipe I'm not sure if you can see it through the camera but there is a Bend here and it was swinging back I mean it's hardly it was hardly windy today and it was swinging back at least three four five feet like that and that didn't even have the antenna in there I was intending on using guy wires at that 40 foot level but I I don't I don't think it would have been strong enough I think it would have been a disaster so I'm got the 13 foot um post here my little custom-made post I've got my hinge here which is really strong interesting beefy I know that probably some people gonna say Well why'd you use a hinge well this is the best way to do it yeah honest with you there was no other way to do a tilt up and then I have the 20 feet of pipe and this has much much better here it's clamped on it's a pressure clamp it's there's no hole here going through so I don't have any weakening the only place I have hole throughs here is where I put thin little sheet metal screws to bind these two together but I don't see that being a problem not not at the 20 foot level as you can see it it doesn't really move that much got a little bit of a shake which to be expected any pipe but um I think this will be much better this is also going to get guy wires um I've got several points here three I'm gonna do three point three-point uh connection here so that I'll have three guy wise coming off of there and that should keep it nice and steady so let me pause this for a sec and then I'm going to uh show you how it raises up and then uh and then uh you know guys if if you have anything any comments please put them down below um if uh if you like what you're seeing here I haven't been doing videos for quite a quite a while if you'd like to see some more stuff like this let me know and then I'll continue and you know hit the Subscribe button and like button down below and uh enjoy the rest of the video all right hopefully this will hold I don't have much of a stand so walk gingerly just to make sure that the camera doesn't fall otherwise we'll have to do a take two all right it takes a while it takes a while because it's a high torque pretty much foreign nice and secure all right simple as that the only thing I need to do to make this a little bit sturdier is I'm going to put some bracing from here to the side here and there and that should keep this nice and nice and firm and then we're looking at 20 foot Mast and uh probably another 18 feet for the antenna this here I'm going to be getting ground plane antenna so I decided to I'm not going to get the A99 I'm going to be going with a different antenna so this here is all gonna have to get trimmed because the ground plane will go right into the tree and then that won't be very good but that's it guys uh like I said comment down below what you think any ideas any suggestions um and thanks for watching have a great day
