everybody hey thanks for the interest in my antenna project that's the antenna over there as it goes on up i'm gonna guess so that's 12 it's probably up the tip of at least 35 feet would be a good guess but here's what i'm dealing with our property got a mountain on that not really a mountain top of a hill and a ridge over there kind of the same in front of here and then if you look i've got the same there so i'm not above the hilltops so i just quickly wanted to show you what i did i'm not going to operate this whole thing but took a big old barn swivel you can see it's pretty good size got it lagged in there good i've welded two two inch exhaust pipes so you can see they're tack welded all the way through i wanted that so i can get up that high to support them you can see i've got a temp there that's just a clamp holding it i'm trying to get over here i've got a t-post screwed to this board that gives me that to clamp on some more support even above that you can probably do something different and then i've got sections of pipe and they're half in each other and i've got them welded together so how this comes down as you can see i haven't got my ground rod and i'm still haven't decided what i want to do there somebody said to run a uh a strap instead of a cable get a braided strap to run down there and i might do that i could probably clamp it right to that but here's a unique part of it i've got a boat winch like you'd see on a trailer and i've just got this nut tightened so i can use an electric uh drill with a socket to run that up and down i just run that up to a pulley it attaches to this and then when i unhook that clamp which i'm going to do something different on that clamp i just haven't had time probably some kind of a strap to go around it this will just lower down it'll just swing down into the driveway there and i can have a ladder to set it on i can service that thing pretty easy to build i don't know if you can do it without welding i got some really good welds i had a guy work with we do exhaust work he's just an excellent welder so he's got those welded together at the top i do have it grounded to the pole you know the bracket actually grounds of the pole but i screw the thing in so this copper wire can come down um that may not be real handy some of the guys said all i need to do is come right to here with some braid some copper braided stuff and i'll run my ground rod into the ground on one side of the pole and run it down there but that's the project i just welded two two inch exhaust pipes you can use other pipe doesn't have to be exhaust i'd say minimum 16 to 18 gauge and it's just handy to work on i can lower it down with the cable i don't need a ladder or anything actually i do i have to unhook that ladder it down set it in the yard i hope that gives you an idea and i'm hoping you guys come up with a better idea that's a pretty stout pulley i got bolted to the to the 4x4 there and then i just run an eyelet through there and i bolt through there to lower it down it works great really
