good morning everyone i'm joanne welcome to a work in progress today i thought i would take you along with me while i go thrifting but the more exciting part about this thrift trip is that i'm going to be going with several other ladies from youtube i'm not going to tell you who they are i want to make it a surprise for you so stay tuned i think we're going to have a lot of fun here's a quick picture of the ladies that joined me first thing in the morning from left to right joanne dottie lynn with triple s mercantile and norma jean from norma jean plus one let's go thrifting so here we are at the durham rescue mission outlet store let's see what we can find here so it's a little what you put a little miniature stuff oh i wonder if that would sell at the booth say hello because well i'm going to put it in my cart because i realize that's what you need to do is put it in your cart and then go through it all later filming you oh it's cute what a little mess up right there what is that it says peterborough oh basketball cause some of those some of those baskets are expensive i think it's upside down there you go it's a grater of some kind like a cheese grater or something like that it might be missing the bottom yeah [Music] hard to clean what's hard to do is film and thrift at the same time i have to i i have to do a shock video i'm very new in this game [Music] [Music] super easy to remember i would love it okay let's see what he did there's a pretty little wrap oh he oh there's another one in the other bin very similar to him okay did you pick it up no okay we're playing a game we're playing the game okay what's the game all right the game is when we went shopping whoever finds the most pop profitable items oh what do you win [Laughter] ice cream all right all right game on all right okay let's go i loved this mirror but 14 was just way more than i wanted to spend i liked this picture too but again i thought 13 was just too much oh foreign okay so we are all done thrifting we've gone to four more four stores today we are dead tired very much before we get off of here we thought we would share with you um just kind of a favorite piece that we all thrifted today so i'm going to let the ladies go first here's mine oh and you should say oh yeah tell everybody about you oh yeah i'm jeannie from norma jean plus one and so come check myself out all right what is it oh it's just a picture about well they see what it is i'm sorry hey i'm dotty lynn triple s mercantile and this is my favorite it's just a blonde glass bird clear on the bottom blue on the top and this is of course for me can you can you show it closer there yeah there you go beautiful you know it's expensive or you really want it when it's in a locked cabinet it's beautiful no you go ahead i'm anna with a modern vintage and i got a fiesta where oh hold on there you go yes nowhere picture in beautiful red again modern vintage the modern vintage shops shops modern vintage shops oh that's right because there's another one the modern vintage shops follow me okay i picked out a sampler type with has cross stitch and stitchery now lay you down to sleep and i and joanne better known as precious lavender buttons on instagram and i found this um framed thing thing of vintage postcards and they are so old that if you can see there the postage is one cent to send a postcard so i've got to look up and see how old these are but i'm going to take them all off of here and sell the postcards and the frame separately so that was kind of my favorite find for today so that's it ladies thank you so much for a fantastic day we had lots of fun we did hope you enjoyed it as well so take care everybody bye bye so that was our little shop along i only filmed in two places because the other two uh stores that we went to were playing music and i don't want to take any chances with that and not being able to speak over the music so that you can hear me and not the music but um we had a really really good time like i said we ended up going to four different thrift stores we were gone from about nine o'clock in the morning until my gosh it was somewhere around five or six it was going on six o'clock because the thrift stores closed at six o'clock and we hit the last one we left 15 minutes before they were about to close anyway i'm going to go ahead and show you the things that i picked up at the durham rescue mission outlet i'll let you know the things that i am keeping for myself and the things that will be for resale i spent a total of i think it was about between 16 and 17 there so uh let me see here i'm trying to yep this was one of the pieces and it's a you can see it's a picture frame i already love the fact that it is distressed i don't have to do a thing to it this was made in india and i believe i'm going to try and put this piece up in my antique space and see how it does there so we have that and then this butterfly is amazing i think he's amazing you let me know what you think of him and i would love to know it at the end of the video if you would let everyone know what your favorite piece was from this particular thrift haul and i will let you know what my favorite piece is as well so i've got this wood butterfly i believe from the back of it it looks like it was handmade but i think they did just a fabulous job on it it is so so cool and this piece too i think i'm going to end up putting in my antique space because to ship this i think would just be a real a real bugger so i got that you put this down okay uh let me see this piece i'm going to be doing a thrift flip on so i picked this up also for my antique space so it's got a couple actually three cubbies in it there and then it has the drawer here uh this was a made in china piece has a little bit of kind of nicks on the corners here which i think i can probably fill in with a little wood putty so i think i'm going to try and do a video on a couple of the pieces that i'm going to be painting and distressing to put into my antique space so watch for those coming up so that is going to be one of them and then i also got this cute little recipe box so adorable i think i'll be doing the same to that you can see it's already oh looks like somebody it was originally brown and someone already painted it white i'm going to be painting it i think black or at least the edges with black and then i'll finish it up with a couple of coats of white paint and then distress it and i may put some kind of graphic on the front of it here but this will be another thrift flip that's hard to say uh i know no more starbucks mugs but if i can pick them up at the outlet for i mean really just pennies i'm going to go ahead and get them especially well if they're in good condition this one was it's your iconic there you go your iconic starbucks mermaid this was this is 16 ounces and it does not say what year it was manufactured but that's okay it's in perfect condition i'm actually thinking because i've got a lot of these mugs i'm actually thinking in the antique space of making a little like mug hub or something with one of the shelves and just have it complete with with different kind of mugs and we'll see how that goes uh for myself i picked up these two i think they're silicon silicone these two little i'm gonna call them oven mitts you know just to protect your fingers when you're pulling things out of the oven because i don't have anything like this and right now i just use dish towels and you know that heat can go through those dish towels pretty quickly so i was really happy to find these in excellent condition another couple of things that i found for myself are these they're pretty much let's see there's two looks like it might be two different styles down here and it's these little glass ornaments and these i will be putting on my vintage uh silver christmas tree this year i've got those two and these two there they are so a couple of little cuties there this is a ray done piece girl boss and then vision to see obstacles as opportunities on the flip side the ray done is a little messed up on the bottom but i mean i don't think that makes a difference because it's the bottom nobody's going to see it so this i think unless um somebody is interested in this this i believe will go into my antique space another starbucks but this is super cute i didn't even realize this was starbucks until i've um looked at it a little closer i picked it up initially because of the kitty cat playing with the yarn ball i just thought it was so cute and there you see it is a starbucks mug this one is also 16 ounces this is from 2015. and then also for resale i thought this was really well done i don't know if this might be laser cut into the wood so it's this sailboat and it's a napkin holder it has some age to it oh yes it says on the bottom laser engraved from laser craft in santa rosa california and it does not have a date on it but there is the bottom of that and then this little thing is definitely going into the booth because this would be a bugger to ship and it i don't honestly think it would be worth shipping but it's a little i'm guessing it's an apple uh kind of basket so i thought that was really cute in great shape for being in at the outlet so this little piece will be going in to the booth as well i'm going to make some space on my table i will be right back with the rest of it okay back again first thing i'm going to show you from right now i didn't realize that this had oil in it when i put it in my bag because i laid it on its side so to lessen the chance that it would get damaged and turns out yes it had oil in it so i've got oil all over everything but it's this really pretty oil lamp and you can see the graphics on the front of it i thought it was extra special and it does have the tag on it it is from let me see here uh the oil lamp light company in oh gosh i cannot see where that was made looks like or the or the manufacturer looks like f a f m or n e y but that's going to be going up into the antique space on this i would be afraid to ship very honestly okay now i got oil all over my hands um i picked this up because i don't think it's old or anything but i liked the shape of it and i liked the color of it and it's a pottery piece and it seems as though it was it's from the chun dao pottery and tea art collection and i'm guessing that is chinese really really pretty piece i think the stopper is still on it it's got marks both on the lid and on the bottom just a really really pretty piece of pottery i thought someone would be interested in that another piece of pottery i actually have four more pieces of pottery is this little bowl thought it was very pretty again really well done it was done in 1994 and it does have a name on the bottom of it but i cannot make it out but whoever did it did a really nice job on it would make an adorable little planter or a trinket box i'm two of these i was really happy that these had not been damaged so i don't i don't know a goblet i mean because it is glazed on the inside so you could drink out of it but a goblet a candle holder for flowers i guess no there's lots of uses for it there is the underside so there were two of them and they i think they are just beautiful pieces gorgeous pieces so happy when i find stuff like that that has not been damaged now this you may recall seeing in the shop along with me i know i did like i said i didn't do a lot of shop alongs and i made a comment while i was filming it's really hard to do a shop along and shop at the same time but i'm i'm working on it but i found this beautiful gravy boat and it is attached here to there to the bottom tray and this is a federal piece syracuse china made in america and i have a feeling that's a good will uh marker there so i think at one point in time it was four dollars at a goodwill i'm actually really happy that it didn't sell at the goodwill so that i could pick it up at the outlet it's in beautiful condition just a few more things to share with you i picked up i'm only going to show you a couple of them but these faux greenery pieces i got quite a few of them i like picking these up when i can find them and especially at the outlet i mean you only pay pennies for these so that was a happy find oh that's kind of cute look at that whoops i just stuck it in that isn't that cute looks cute in there i think it does uh next this was a lucky find i think happy find these are from pyrex and the pyrex is actually stamped onto the bottom as opposed to being you know stamped into it or raised so you might be able to make it out there i got four of these tea cups or coffee cups and they're really not in bad condition there is a little bit of wear on the paint you might be able to see there but there are four of them and considering they did not get damaged i was very happy to find those the interesting thing to me is that two of them do have the pyrex marks on them and the other two i am just guessing from wear and washing and stuff that they wore off then i think this is the last piece that i have to show you as i did pull some pieces for my live sale i am going to be having a live sale tomorrow the 28th at 7 pm here on my channel i hope that you can join me rhonda will be back with me tomorrow night it's going to be a small sale um i'm kind of kind of getting my feet wet with the sales and working full-time at this at the same time so as not to overwhelm myself and to be able to ship things out invoice folks and ship things out in a very timely manner i'm going to start a little bit small and then kind of work my way up so i hope you can be patient with me for that the last thing that i got these are brand new in the package they are attachable flip flop coasters i thought they were really cute i'm actually going to give these to shh don't tell her to rhonda so hopefully she won't watch this video until after i give them to her but i'll give them to her tomorrow so we've got those right there and that's it so my favorite from what i showed you um you know what this is my favorite this butterfly i think it is really really pretty very well done so that is my favorite find from um today so if you would in the comment section down below please let me know oops there we go please let me know
