Three Reasons Why YOU SHOULD Buy a GMT800 | Yukon XL, Tahoe, Suburban

hey guys what is up today we're going to make a video about why you should buy a GNT 800 truck whether it's a pickup truck an SUV a Tahoe a Silverado a Yukon a Yukon XL a Suburban etc etc at Escalade even I don't like the way the Escalades look though from this era but uh you know that's another good one I just bought this one I paid six thousand dollars for this and also sorry for the wind noise if there's any I'm trying to stay on this side of the car if I go to that side the wind's blowing that way and it's going to blow right into my lav mic but let's start with the outside looks uh when I first started looking at these I first started watching them because of a guy LSX matte I have a whole Camaro project on my channel that Camaro is in the it's in the garage over there I have a whole Camaro project on this channel and he had a Camaro project as well and I would watch his videos and then he bought a Tahoe and I was like those are kind of cool it looks kind of good and then you know looks kind of grew on me and then I was looking around at them and a lot a lot of the ones I was finding had like 250 000 miles 300 000 miles et cetera et cetera et cetera but I found this one with 150 000 miles which was like the lowest mileage one I could find within like a reasonable distance now why did I buy it number one these trucks are pretty much bulletproof They're Gonna Last and they're gonna go you're gonna you're gonna turn the key it's gonna start these are the ls based variant Motors the I think the I don't know if they were the ly6 was in these but like the lq4 lq9 the LMS 3 and so all the variants of the ls Motors were in these and there's a reason everybody wants to LS swap their vehicles and they try to pull them out of these right here a lot of a lot of the ls's people are pulling are just coming out of these that are eventually in the junkyard it got wrecked or something like that and that's because they're reliable they're tried and true and they go now there are some issues with these and we'll get into it number one is rust if you look at the bottom of my my quarters and my rockers there's some Rust there there's even a little bit of like slight rust there it's actually pretty bad um but that can all be fixed and I will fix it and I'll probably make a video about how to fix it but the thing you want to be super careful about is your frame is if your frame is rusting then it's bad the frame on this one is actually really really really good I don't know how this rusted and nothing on the frame rusted but the frame is almost like I mean it's shockingly good shape out I'll get it on lift eventually and show you guys the frame but if you just look at it it looks really good something about the white I I there was other colors I was looking at but I really wanted a white one I think they look so good in white now the main reason everybody buys these is is reliability right but there's other reasons to buy them too number one let's talk about the interior let me go to the other side actually take a quick walk over to the other side here there's a Camaro over there um you can kind of see this side this side's on a little bit better shape than that side there's there's no rust on this back but the rocker has a little bit of rust there easily fixable all right let's go inside here okay so here's the interior and these trucks were from what 99 to 06 and then an 07 to 14 the new generation GMT 900 came out these are the most comfortable truck seats I've ever had man they're nice and these seats are in pretty decent condition see look at the driver's seat nothing super crazy going on there you know check out the dash all that so the interior on these is super super nice now I need to get in here and detail it and clean it of course this is just the people that owned it before me there was you know they use it like a family truck so you know there's you know 20 20 snowy stories were up in the in the DVD player up there um you know there's you know crap all over there's oh sorry that's the factory nav there you know there's stuff there's oh there's a free lighter you know under the seats so that's cool um but this is all fixable this is all um cleanable as well as the rust the rust is fixable too now the only thing I've done to this I immediately did was put a double DIN in here I didn't want to not have music I've been driving this around I used to drive the LC as a daily driver but for the past like two weeks it's been this and it's just so cool like there's no like when you're in the when you're in a car like when you're in a car like that everybody's staring and blah blah something about this is just like you're low-key you're just cruising you're comfortable I like it a lot so number one reason is going to be reliability that's the reason everybody buys these they're built really well they last forever there's a reason so when I'm buying a used car a lot of times what I'll think about is like what do I see on the road every day what kind of old car do I see on the road all the time and you see these every day you can drive five miles to work and probably see seven of them they're super they're super um they're they're around people use them and they last and these are pretty much like 20 year old trucks and they're still out people are still driving them and they're good second reason of course is the uh interior the Comfort um it's just so comfortable these big old captain seats with the armrest here I mean it's just great and I have the heated seats on mine so it has the heated seats and then I have like all kinds of adjustments on the mirrors and all that stuff etc etc another great thing is a lot of these were four wheel drive mine is four wheel drive it has the uh it has the the switches I don't like the switches as much as like in my Silverado it's a it's a manual lever I like that more it feels more reliable like that just looks like it seems like one electronic that could go wrong is those four wheel drive switches let me see if I can show you the odometer before I pop the hood here odometer is 153 765. great mileage and don't let that scare you like if you find one with 200 000 miles it's still going to be fine I just wanted a little bit of more cushion because and I was willing to spend more for it all right here's the motors on them um again these are the motors everybody wants there's a lot of room in the bay where if you need to get in there and change whatever it is you need to change there's options for that the headlights let me show you just like a simple like a headlight slot right look at look how easy this is boom up boom up headlight comes out look at that like that is that is some that is some really cool stuff all right so plans for the truck um I'm gonna clean the engine bay you know get all this black plastic restored clean up the block stuff like that get just great grease and grime out of the engine bay um I've really thought it'd be kind of interesting to see if stock wheel flares from I have a buddy that has one of these that's like junked out and he has the wheel flares to go around it because right now it doesn't have them but it has like this it has like the middle trim strip down it which is kind of cool but I think it'd be kind of cool to have the stock wheel flares there my key fob is also just like cracked out of its mind this button sticks when I unlock it so just go unlock unlock unlock and it just keeps unlocking so I want to get the uh the Boost Auto uh key fob for this um I saw that on Matt's Channel I want to get that but yeah nothing like major to the engine or anything just like cosmetic cleaning um also mine came with like Factory 17s which is a kind of a rare option I think and it came with 410 gears a 410 differential in the back which is also pretty rare I think I was just checking our po codes and seeing what mine came with but yeah clean the engine bay clean the inside of the truck fix the rust try out the wheel flares see what they look like but yeah other not not a lot mine's in great shape the clear coat isn't peeling on the hood or the top so that's good um I think I got a great pretty smoking deal here granted there is a bunch of rust and stuff on the Rockers and the the quarter but auto body stuff is something I want to learn so this gives me a chance to learn it that's how I look at it it's it's it's it's a teaching moment I have now yeah guys those are the main reasons I bought my gmt800 truck let me know what your reasons are I'm sure there's a lot of people out there with these I want to know what you like about the truck maybe I'll find something else I appreciate about the truck but I love the reliability I like the looks of it I like the comfort of it and that's my three main reasons why I love this GNT 100 truck SUV would you call it is this a truck still it's an SUV right yeah it's an SUV all right guys thanks for
