Surveillance video captured the arrest of one individual while inside a pizza restaurant in the area. A vehicle associated with the shooting took off towards West Oakland Police in pursuit and a CHP helicopter following from the air. The speeding car crashed at 31st and Martin Luther King boulevard. She's a native Oaklander and says this part of town is a hotspot for issues she didn't want to show her face on camera. >> Yeah, you know, this is actually pretty typical. This doesn't shock me at all. There's constantly so many different things happening around here. >> The suspect vehicle damaged two parked cars, the driver and a passenger bailed out, but were eventually apprehended. This black, particularly right here, definitely used to be a very, very energetic block with a lot of different situations happening on here that weren't very safe. Shen says the area sees a high rate of crime and not a lot of officers or beat cops. >> Out of all the police that I've seen around here, it's probably only one officer that I that I met that was from around here. And the only reason why I met him was because somebody got robbed down the street. >> She'd like to see more engagement with city leadership and police at the community level. >> Engagement is so important because it just develops this this relationship of like friends, community, family, tribe, you know, which is really needed in a community like this. >> Police report, they're still investigating this case. However, they did say they did arrest three individuals, including one juvenile.
