[Music] good morning everyone fany seeing you here it is another H it's not a beautiful day in Wellington but we're continuing on our Wellington food Adventure today so yeah we're going to take the bus to Baker G Mercy now uh are you ready YY for another day ining I'm so hungry all right let's go he that's our bus right there go run run okay there's our [Music] bus okay we found a nice interesting bench to eat at we got our Goods but yeah if you don't know Baker Mercy they're a bakery of course they have your usual breads pastries coffee they have like a nice variety but they don't have too much going on so you kind of know that they're like really focusing on what they do best very excited we got three pastries we got one Savory this one is a jalapeno cheddar I'm getting a headache because I hungry but of course we must start with the Savory jalapena cheddar croissant oh this looks so good first bite maybe come a bit closer just in case there's a bit of a crunch okay not you said closer you're not going to hear that oh you know what I'm going to do so you can get some ASMR come close come no no don't show my face I need to get the need no but you need to get the ASMR okay [Applause] that jalapeno is coming through oh yeah yeah that's really nice the jalapeno you can taste a little bit of it the cheddar is cheddaring but it's like a good amount of cheese it's not super like sharp honestly like jalapenos aren't that spicy in my opinion if they like doubled it I feel like I'd be like ooh yeah but that is really nice I will say and the pastry is super light m really buttery one of my favorite pastries the Almond croissant I don't know if you can see but the sun is coming out Sunshine because what did I say sun's out for loore Chase it up with a coffee oops the wind let me take another bite just to get closer to the to the filling M yeah there's like a nice amount of almond Filly in there it's super good it's buttery like it's not too sweet which I like and you know the pastry is flaky a little bit dense cuz of that filling it's nice like if you pair it with coffee you know I could definitely see myself having this like quite often because it's not too heavy okay because we rarely appear in the same frame together we'll do the the briish one together looking real nice do you want to rip it yeah o ooh that looks nice ooh and the chocolate is a bit melty [Music] Che M oh some chocolate just dropped it is a nice decent Brio this would be so nice if you like freshly baked or microwaved but the chocolate's not too um sweet it's like a a little dark you know quite nice yeah the fact that the chocolate is still Mel you know this is freshly baked if I was a local I'd be getting my bread and baguettes and sourdough from there anyway um that's it for the baker G Mercy section it's on to whatever we do next I don't even know walk we are fun [Applause] people yeah [Music] you know we're here in this playground just healing our inner child and if you don't know we're not with our parents and this trip is just me and AG but they're off to why HEI and look look who they brought the gang Mr chungus cuz you know as you can as you know from our Europe trip they're too big to bring so so we can't bring them so we have little Mr pumpkin bear and little be Sheen they're hanging [Music] out oh my go what the what was that anyway we find ourselves Island Bay I'm just sitting in this Warf right here there's actually quite a bit of splashback from the waves but if you notice these planks of wood are pretty dry so I am keeping dry but quite nice little town isn't it y you kind of feel like you're at the edge of the world yeah it's really nice really calming really relaxing the sounds of nature and the beach yeah it's just the way the Wellington Coastline just up oh my God it's the way the Wellington coastline just abruptly stops into like a massive drop off yeah really feels like you're at the edge of the world very peaceful very Serene [Music] yeah okay so we're here at forign twist this is actually the second actually third time we've been here we went here the last time we were in Wellington and we had to go back because they're actually a manual Brew Bar so they don't have an expressing machine or anything like that so we got some two drinks they have a specialty one for today this is the Cucumber has cucumber obviously cucumber syrup coffee drip coffee and cream and then I got the pink cocoa this one has strawberry milk and coffee you can also get it with like chocolate but I just wanted coffee and I already mixed it but it had like a nice old like pink brown ombre oh a yeah it reminds me of um you know that Magi Cho that mag CH we always get yeah like the strawberry and chocolate yes one like that's one of my favorite chocolates to get and it kind of reminds me of this but coffee niine I'm incredibly intrigued by this cucumber they got the Little Cucumber slices um oat foam single origin cold brew I'll take one out so I can wao actually I need to I feel like I need to mix sorry I'm going to I'm going to grab your straw so I can mix it take a look at wow that's really nice and refreshing nice perfect sweetness they also have a cucumber syrup I've never heard anything like that before but that's very unique and I love it the most unique tank here at pour in TST this is why we're back here don't need the espresso machines to Vive their own ah just sit down grab a coal drink and relax that's great okay we had a coffee now it's time to rest okay rest done let's [Music] go still believe that you will be here and give me a [Music] side all right hello hello everyone and welcome to Aries Aries we were kind of contemplating which Yamcha should we go to should we go to the very famous dragons the one I think it's like the most popular yumcha spot in the city or Aries but when we went to pour into us a while ago zoie from Po and twist we were like which one's better and he s Aries like straight away we're like okay we made up our mind so we're here actually a couple of stuff have already arrived cuz like once we sat down the carts ared so we got you know the classics this is going to be great yeah are you excited for your dim suum yeah all right let's eat okay you know when it comes to trying out a new Yuma spot we have to get some Classics so we have the the prawn dumplings the hiai ooh look at that plump pork and prawn dip it in a bit of soy [Music] sauce oh super meaty has a nice bite to it it's not much like and there's a bit of a firmness to it which is really nice super plump The Dumpling skin is nice and thin so we love that yeahum okay another classic the hago it's a prawn dumpling with that Crystal thin dumpling skin it's a one of my favorite things to get oh always such a goodie to get the prawns are plump the thickness of the skin is perfect and with the chili oil and the soy sauce oh oh yeah it's a one biter so yeah meatball time a it just looks so juicy and moist I'm going to try it plain first o very soft beefy it's a very simple taste without like the soyu and chili oil but it's really nice and like Savory m very bouncy as well let's try the other ones the bright green um spinach and prawn dumpling it just looks beautiful that so PL look how plump the prawns are and you can see the little flicks of a spinach it's so nice by itself M next one I don't think I've ever had something like this at a Yuma so that's why we had to get it it's pork and prawn wrapped in tofu skin let's taste it okay luckily it just uh fell on my chair so it's safe it's safe the chair is clean no no no we we're not letting the stuff to go to waste who are we it's really nice though kku skin has that like unique texture which really thin but has a nice bite to it and the pork and bronze yet again really really Plum down here yeah it just look very unique these are like T something Tar this nice flossy coating on the outside and it looks like it has a little filling in the [Music] middle super light on the outside very nice and crispy and that Taro is super mashy and smooth there's this little filling in the middle I don't know what it is but it's really good slightly sweet as well next one another Yamcha Hood classic it's the uh sticky rice the one wrapped in the leaves and it's got the stuff in the middle let's just try to get out get out oh it has some like Flex of Chinese sausage as well just try to how do we even oh yeah that is so good I just love glutenous rice and like that from the meats it's just glorious super sticky and Luscious and goopy it's gooping in my mouth for sure wow okay this one has the Chinese sausage which should be very nice that so good last Savory I was almost in disbelief that we got the wrong thing cuz um they have a couple of rice rolls to choose from we got one with pork uh with crispy pork and when this came into the table yeah we were just like there ain't no way that this is crispy pork it kind of looks like CRS it's the pink rice wrapper it's just [Music] amazing whatever is in it is crispy all right but that's amazing it's look at like top peer rice roll but I swear it's cro I swear like there's no way that this is pork we would know if it was crispy pork they have the sauce at the bottom here which we will uh rightfully wrap some looks like a sesame sauce [Music] that's insane yeah one of the best price rolls we've ever had not going to lie and then the textural contrast between the crispy crumbed inside and then the the super bouncy rice roll wrapper I I'll have another one just for just for the road wow I'm getting really full but we also had to get their steamed custard buns this one was kind of the reason why we ended up coming here because apparently their custard buns are really really good all right oh oh oh ooh all right I love my sweet and salty and this is the perfect embodiment of it it's so good like the custard is like thick but it's so smooth and Bun is like really soft but it's not too much like the ratio is just perfect that's [Music] great there we [Music] go run away just run away so how does it feel to be attacked by a duck you know I was I was walking away from it to give it space and it just it saw me um for the record I also got attacked but I was not [Music] recording all right duck attack aside we let me be we find ourselves at the wonderful zelandia so zelandia is a very unique place it is the world's first urban ecosanctuary and what that means is literally the entire extent of Zeland around 225 hectares is pest free and fenced off oh bird oh Bird that's uh I forgot what it was called oh my gosh anyway we're interrupted by Nature more like we interrupt nature no you're so right yeah that's why I got attacked zelandia has a very ambitious 500-year Vision to basically restore this whole area to what it was like before humans arrived um prior to the arrival of humans New Zealand actually didn't have any native mammals or native Predators for the birds which is why New Zealand's such a renowned Sanctuary for bird life but obviously with the arrival of the Polynesians I'm carrying Polynesian rats and dogs and of course the Europeans introducing you know stoes possums all sorts of other pests New Zealand's native bird life has been decimated throughout the centuries but it is in these sanctuaries like zelandia where you know bird life can flourish once again like the nice Birds and the Ducks and a lot of other stuff you love getting in touch with nature don't we yambi sometimes too in touch another bird yeah the nice thing about zelandia is that they have like a few tramps for you to kind of like walk around so you're surrounded by all this nature so yeah definitely the walk is like fairly easy which is why I'm kind of just wearing what I'm wearing from lunch but yeah definitely get those comfy shoes on at least and yeah let's get on [Music] walking [Music] okay we are out of zelandia and into dinner time and honest and what you'll notice when you go to zelandia is that the Wellington CBD is relatively flat but go anywhere near the outside of the CBD and it's literally just vertical metaphorical Cliff faces the surrounding suburbs of Wellington so we're going to be walking to gra wineart which is our dinner and it's in one of the hilly suburbs so let's hope it's not too hilly [Music] good good we got a reservation under 0 for 6:00 all right best friend um we are here at a gra Wine Bar uh this restaurant was recommended by our good friend uh Sam low as in the Master Chef Sam low shout out by his cookbook modern Chinese out at all good bookstores um we just started off with a couple of cocktails I got a coffee based cocktail you know you got to get the coffee one for cuz we cuz we are in Wellington what did you get M it's called cable car I don't know what's in it but it looked nice and it's strong and good all right Sam described this restaurant as unlike anything you can get in offland so we're very excited for the food let's eat because asparagus are in season asparagus asparagi asparagus we had to get them um they're grown locally apparently some of the best in New Zealand lemon yogurt herbs and a Carrot Top pesto Carrot Top as in not that guy but like the top of the carrot made into a p that's so unique all right wow yeah those are Spar is like really plump and snappy herous creaminess and all the elements and the Carrot Top pesto is amazing wow this is a good dish I need another bite that is fantastic okay another dish has arrived and this one I'm really looking forward to we have a some pretzels so cute so this one has a garlic and rosemary glaze and it also comes with a chili cheese with onion Weed And as well as like some kind of miso which they also incorporate like the leftover pretzels with so you know nothing things going to waste and it just looks so glorious let's rip it apart going to have a [Music] piece that is great it's so fluffy and chewy and the chili cheese you can feel a bit of the spice like picking in the back of your throat which is really nice very Savory dish really really good it's just so like simple but it just works so well I love that next we got kimchi perogi if you don't know what perogies are they are a Polish dumpling but this one has Kim so there's a bit of a Korean twist into it there's roasted potatoes a black garlic cream and it looks incredible oh yeah I can taste that kimchi coming through like the fermented flavor but like without that spice that you usually have when you have di but it's like really rich and soft that's really unique just pure [Music] deliciousness yeah like the potatoes add this nice like starchiness to it this softness like the perogi like dumpling wrapper itself it's like has a bit of a tu but it's not too thick it's almost like delicate in a way that's quite the filler as well like this will make you quite full final Savory is the roasted butterfish with greens and Pa jeu or as they described a Pawa garam made with the um guts of the power you know what garam is yandi it's a fish sauce um that originated in the Roman Empire and yes I do think about the Roman Empire every day thank you I thank you much appreciated it looks divinely um seared as well with a super seared crust oh my God howu is so deep and just Savory and just really pairs well with the delicate and super flaky fish the broccolini you know when it's charred it's just such a beautiful thing and then the cream VCH absolutely beautiful it's such a beautifully balanced dish light from the fish dark Smoky and savory from the Jew fresh and creamy from the broccoli and then the cream cream veggies what a meal I'm loving this okay it is the dessert time luckily we sell space for something sweet and we got their Snicker doodle cookie Skillet this one is quite unique instead of like the traditional like cinnamon ingredient um because they only use like New Zealand grown Pro juice instead of cinnamon they did a kaawa and F jooa sugar I've never had anything like that before it also has Macadamia and they also poured a meso caramel on top so this will be quite a unique dessert o not too sweet the perfect dessert compliment yeah that is super unique definitely has like that like warming like comforting taste when you have like a Snicker doodle but just with a more unique flavor I really like that the Miso caramel adds like this nice sweet savoriness that is lovely all right amazing dinner at Wine Bar what did you say be one of our best food experiences in general this year I would say it was pretty unique like yeah we can't really get anything like quite like that in Auckland which is sad but I guess nice at the same time anyway tomorrow is going to be our last day in Wellington for this trip so catch us next week I know it's going to be good and uh thank you guys for watching another one of our food and travel videos live from
