Thinking about getting the Tesla Model Y 7 Seater?? (Watch this first!!)

oh god oh god i can't breathe where are the air vents in this thing [Music] so one of these teslas is not like the other i mean aside from mine being matte and aftermarket wheels what's different seven seats baby this is actually the model y seven seater and from the outside you can't even tell the difference it looks the exact same okay catch out the bag i got a kit so i ended up getting a seven seater just kidding now i still have my three fur babies and i love them more than any real kid out there but all my friends are having kids and starting families and the first thing they asked me is is the seven seater a good option for more space and for having a family today i'm gonna go into in-depth comparison of the tesla model y five-seater versus the seven seater so if you guys wanna learn more then keep on watching what's up guys it's chris and everybody chris and welcome back to my channel the number one place for tesla tech and everyday life so the seven seater has been out for a while now for the tesla model y for us it's something we never really considered since we don't have any kits but what makes the seven sears so different with other cars like the lexus rx 350 in order to accompany a seven seater they actually redesigned the entire car by making it longer so that people can fit easier and it's more comfortable in the seven seats however it seemed that tesla didn't want to do that and they just simply redesigned the interior a little bit and then just smashed two more seats in the back but is it worth getting and the second biggest question is it's still safe if you sit in the seven seats because based on these photos if you're in one of these seats i'll see you in heaven so our friend just got their model y7c delivered to them so i brought my my my my my my motto my motto y one of my wow that is a tongue twister i brought my my my model y over to do an awesome comparison so let's say hello to past chris what is up guys i'm here in a non-disclosed location to review the model y7 seeder i'm going to be talking about the similarities as well as the differences compared to my tesla model why so right away you can see it doesn't seem like there's a lot of differences between the model y five seater as well as the model y seven seater let's go ahead and see if the size is completely the same so from the rear there are no major differences uh all it looks the same again the only difference with my car is i have the carbon fiber spoiler i wrapped it matte and the wheels but let's just measure it real quick so measuring it from wheelbase to wheelbase in the rear is about six feet and five inches and i believe that is the exact same on this side here so tesla did a great job with the seven seats so it's super important that you can have the ability to lower the headrest you can actually raise the headrest up or down so you can see better in the rear view mirror and you can see that creepy guy in the back so the one thing i need if i'm going to be super uncomfortable in the seventh seat are cup holders because if i'm going to be this uncomfortable you should at least get me a drink so we got cup holders and two usb-c ports so that's a nice addition there are no air vents there is no extra led light so people can read or do anything back there it does come with a nice hand rest so that's kind of nice but that is about it let's see if a six foot three person can fit in there i already raised the seat up here and i'll show you how to do that in a second go ahead and see if i can fit oh god here we go here we go not bad holy crap so i mean leg room is not the worst but my head for sure does not fit because if i'm here it's like this so they should really make a convertible model y and then i fit it's actually really comfortable this way i mean if you look at my leg room here it's not too bad the problem is the headroom but i mean if they make a convertible bottle why i am ruling this is actually really comfortable posture is perfect i feel kind of good yeah feeling good look at that view oh god oh god i can't breathe we're the air vents in this thing no air vents i repeat there are no air vents okay so i'm six foot three and i for sure cannot fit so my wife is five i'll tell you she's five three so we're gonna see if she can fit in the back here okay so let me get out first okay i think the hardest part is getting out of this thing god they need a handle here for sure oh oh god ah way easier to get out with these seats down oh straddle that okay done five foot three it's the way to be five foot three i'm pretty sure i always thought you'd be taller roof is right at your head for something who's 5'3 so i mean with her she has some legroom so she definitely fits in there so it is possible someone was 5'3 for them to fit so if you guys have any families does it fit a child in the seventh seat i mean i don't have any kids i have no idea how to use a chelsea but our friend was kind enough to let us borrow their child seat so it looks like the only way to apply the child seat is with the second row seats down of course and then i have my handy dandy child seat here i'm just gonna put it in the seven seater oh god oh okay yeah i mean you could definitely get a kid out of the child seat however as a like a therapist i definitely don't recommend it because it is really strenuous on the back but it is possible i mean you could put your foot up on here grab get the kid out in and out but again i would not recommend putting the kids here if you have to get them in and out constantly but it is possible to have a child sit in here which is good so i mean if you're small and you can do it no problem but you kind of have to be small and tall because you're going to have to reach over here so there you have it so it is possible but definitely not recommended okay so the difference with the second seater in the seven seater is the inability to recline the seats which is something i love in the second procedure and sorry in the second world in our car you could kind of recline the seat top for this one it looks like it's straight up so it's more like at a 100 degree angle so it's not completely 90 but it's slightly backwards now the button here has two functions the first function is that you can kind of bring the seats all the way forward to give some more leg room to the people in the seven seats so do i just press the button once and then it just kind of locks into place and then you have way more space up here now the second thing you can do with this button is you can actually lift up this whole seat upwards so someone could get in a little bit easier which is an awesome thing to do to do that you just kind of hold the button again and go forward and it goes up that way someone can easily get in and out if they wanted to and to bring it back down you simply just pull down and that's there the car also lets you know if the seven seater is not in the locked position which is really cool this handle just simply brings this seat back all the way down flat firmly i might add so make sure no one is there it just smashes that whoever's in that seat now with my with my car we have the center area with cup holders in it let's see if there's cup holders yep so that remains the same so the biggest difference is the inability to recline the seats on the second row so does the seven seater fit a stroller i mean i just have a standard size stroller in here with the seats up there's barely any trunk space so if you look here like this is all the trunk space you get compared to my five-seater but does it fit a stroller i mean it looks like it might be able to fit a stroller a few moments later yeah uh it's not gonna fit i don't think let's see so there's no other it's like there's barely any space in here you have more space in a freaking honda civic however what if we remove the cover here so if we remove the cover and then we put the stroller in that way will that work because i know there's tons of space in here see i don't even think it'll fit this way what hold on hold on no don't count on fitting a lot of stuff if you have the seven seats up i'm just gonna say that right now i definitely recommend getting one of those stool roof things because you're not going to fit anything back here you want to put the seats down you just push the button here and the seats go down and then again for the rear the second row seats you still have this here so you still can press this down to bring the seats down and kill somebody in the back because it smashes so quickly so as far as trunk space goes with the seats down it's just like the normal trunk so you have all this space here they put this cover back on so compared to my trunk but it is almost the exact same now how do i get this seat back up if i'm in the trunk and i want to get the seats up so the only way to raise it is to come over on this side and then push this back up ah then we just push this one up here as well again with my model why you have this huge area here but you also have the second area but as you can see the seats on the second area so in the seven seat you only get one extra space so you have to find another place to put all your accessories like mobile charging kit and all that stuff so here i am in the third row going for a little drive just to see how bad it really is i mean technically i could fit if i really wanted to fit already i'm dying because there's no air here and is it bumpier this car is running on 20 inch wheels uh definitely i'm feeling all the bumps so it is pretty bumpy we've been driving for about like 15 minutes now i think i'm ready to get out i think i'm gonna puke oh god and my head is where the trunk is so if you are gonna do this you better make sure you ceramic tip this windshield i mean the rear hatch because it's super hot i just feel the sun beating on my head so there you have it trunk space in the model y seven seater is non-existent luckily it's easy to fold down the seats so you have way more space but if you plan on going a road trip with a ton of people plan on adding one of those dual roof things that you can store luggage in or just ship your stuff to the destination so that you guys have more space and because it is a little bit heavier because of all that weight make sure you realize that you do have to charge more often and again the back is not made for bigger adults and for the people that can fit in the back make sure you slip them some ambien or some anti-nausea medicine because it's super cramped with no airflow and bumpy and let's not forget if you do get rear-ended knock on wood there's a possibility you'll die i'm just kidding it does seem like in the photos that the crumple zone went all the way up so your seats would clearly get smashed however i don't think you're gonna die but it does seem like a very risky place to be if you do get rear ended by a truck and again i tried looking for model white crashes online and crash tests but i couldn't find any for the seven seater version anyways i hope that video helped you in deciding between a model y7 seeder are you guys still gonna get the seven seater i mean honestly a lot of kids and families are still getting it because you can just put your kids in the back uh but
