"Things You Can't Measure" - Anthony Mangun

Isaiah chapter 55 verses eight through nine and while you're turning there don't miss tonight Hamady is going to try to have somebody with him tomorrow generation units for the tribe would you raise your hand no try to have some you young people get on the phone have something new to school with you let's try to have somebody with us tonight we believe God's gonna give us some mighty outpouring of the Holy Ghost amen I'm gonna knowledge some things in my message today it's going to be a unique message I don't preach this way a lot but I just ask you to be with me because I have felt this strongly in my heart for my thoughts are not your thoughts and neither your ways my ways saith the LORD fried the heavens are higher than the earth so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts this morning I want to talk to you about things that you cannot measure would you say that with me things that you cannot measure would you put your Bibles down and would you help me give one more shout and praise to our great God come on do it with a clap and a child hello to all of our people that are here this morning all of our guests CCC and Pasteur so glad to have you and I consider quite a privilege to be taking their place this morning in this pulpit and to all you from other nations it's an honor to have you a part of our church this morning amen you may be seated there's a very distinct feature about man about us whether you're in America Canada or whatever nation you may be from we have the impulse that we count everything we knew we measure I guess we're the only one of God's creation that measures our hold accountable things in our life that we feel are important or not even important you never find an elephant wanting to know how much he weighs you never want to find a giraffe wondering how long his neck is there is no other creature that keeps statistics of of what we do or how we do things like man it is really a sign of our greatness it may indeed be that in this respect as in others we are made in the image of God because God said he counts the Stars and he knows them all by name so it's probably a God field that we have being that we are his creation and man's penchant from mathematics has made possible some very unusual things because we have this ability to count and to calculate there are bridges when you come to America I know you've got them in Canada but in San Francisco there's the Golden Gate Bridge that monstrosity of a bridge that doesn't have pillars but it is built by engineers years ago how that thing stands is amazing to me when you go to the skyline of New York and you look at that new building where they just built near the Twin Towers and because they allowed them to count the steeple that is on top that building it is the tallest building now in the world and it's just a little skinny thing I mean it goes up when you're looking at the skyline you wonder how in the world could man build such a building and it'd be such a stable thing but because a man's ability to measure and to calculate we have airplanes and we have things that go to the moon and we have insurance tables and our flights into space arithmetic is behind life as we know it we calculate about everything we do first day we was here your pastor who is very tech savvy and Mickey was having a phone situation and he worked it out and we were talking about how she couldn't make it without her phone and she needed to get a computer that is her computer and we were talking to your pastor about what we're to do there and he begin to share how that the computer that if you would have it this day in time that put the first man on the moon would be the size of a house and yet that little phone that Mickey was holding in her hand your pastor told us that that is a more powerful instrument than put the man on the moon knowledge and technology let this stagger you is doubling every four years that means in four years we will know twice as we must know today so we have the ability to measure and I've never really started wonder why we can measure things the way that we build and calculate and figure out until I started to think about the greatness of God and I began to realize that he let us measure buildings and bridges and computers that stagger our mind I'll never forget before dad died eight or nine years ago I'd have my phone and you know what it was even nine years ago and I could show him I can do stuff he said this was his line that beats anything I've ever seen it just beats anything that I have ever seen and to see how that we can do these things it allows us to understand that there are things that we can measure but God also wants us to understand and there are some things that can't be measured there are some things that tubes and microscopes and phones and computers and stock markets cannot put a value on and God wanted us to know that you cannot calculate mathematically you cannot computerize mathematically you cannot put together where you sit to them you do not understand what you are a part of let them build the skyscraper in New York let them feel the Golden Gate Bridge that's all measure but let me tell you something you can't measure that's the church that you sit in today God has given you some of the greatest people that you have ever seen sitting in this congregation we have hypocrites in this church we have those that are not up and above maybe on everything but as a whole you're sitting by some of the greatest people in Fredericton New Brunswick and to think that God had brought y'all together and given this great body of believers such powerful leaders as your pastor the Woodward's oh the power of Raymond and Beverly Woodward and God gave to them Matthew and Trish and Emily and Ryan and Rosie and Claire God has smiled on you you let me tell you you K put a value on that man and woman right there I don't know what you pay but you don't merely pay him enough he's got a passion for you he's not a hurry he's got a love for this congregation he took me around today is his password showed me what all your own and what all you've accomplished that man can only do all of that through great followers and because wisdom and knowledge is leading him and then the things that God has brought in you Jack and Cathy and Justin and Kristin and has made them a part of this pastoral team owe you fortune a bunch of people at CCC you can't put it down you take calculus you can't measure that and to feel what we feel do you know you're sitting with a group of people 40 acres they're your pastor to the church board and you gave property to the school you've given property to the state or your government for eventually a deaf school over there you wonderful giving godly people and because of that you sit here and was able to give today debt-free you can't mention that when you walk through those doors just don't take this place for granted when you drive up on these grounds just don't take that for granted because this is a place and you're with a group of people and you've got leaders that cannot be measured here in this life so many things are temple enough my friendships are temporary and it's gone and really what I guess I've come to do is maybe try to speak to you into the place to motivate you to understand that we're the most blessed people in the whole world we've been blessed by God and and you gave this morning and because you gave God's get ready to bless you but I just wanted to try to remind you how blessed we all really though none of us have very long job said man that is born of woman is a few days and full of trouble he cometh forth like a flower and is cut down and he freed us almost like a shadow in continuous where Moses tells us the brevity of life and the stewardship of time he said thou tears him away as with a flood they are asleep in the morning there like grass that grows up and in the morning they flourish it and growth up and in the evening it is cut down and wither the days of our years are threescore and ten and if by reason of strength they are fourscore years yet their strength labor and sorrow for it is soon cut off and we fly away so lord teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts to wisdom what Moses and Jove is saying to us is understand how blessed we are and understand that the only thing in this life that really matters is making your life count for God and one of those things is the church in Franklin knew Bundrick CCC and these great pastors and you great brothers and sisters love one another hold on to one another fellowship one another don't talk about each other lift each other up the body of Christ at CCC can be the greatest shirt in this world that God has ever given so you can't measure this jerks forget it you know there's no calculator there's no computer that can tell you how great this church is the second thing you can't measure is family oh I love the family I love my family very much I thank God forgiving me Mickey and we have loved ones that we love dearly and and in September 10 2016 my mother and daddy would have been married 73 years but as you know my father was promoted on June the 17th 2010 and I've watched their lives and watch how they've given themselves and I watched how that my dad gave himself away and now dad is gone and he's only a memory when I still would prefer him to be a man but when you look at at the life that he lived and the things that he affected you can't take anything to heaven with you that's what most people say because the Bible tells us that naked came in the world nicholae but I disagree I'm not contradicting the Bible I'm taking a principle of the Bible you can take something to heaven and that's what you did this morning when you invest in your mission money for it to be preached around the world and souls are going to be one you can take some soul to heaven with you and because you gave this morning your money's gonna make it to heaven that money that you gave this morning that money's going to heaven and somebody's gonna walk up that knows you that God is gonna explain it the marriage supper of the Lamb and Matt somebody's gonna grab you as you teach these young people to teach Bible studies and they're gonna grab you by the shoulder and they're gonna grab you by your celestial garment and they're gonna say Matt Woodward I am here because of you and they're going to look at you and they're going to say from all these other nations and our are people from Syria we're so glad that you're here they're gonna look at you and grab you by your clothes they're gonna grab you by your clothes and they're gonna say I'm here because of you our family the devil knows he can't come against the church because the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church so he hits God's institution of the family he'd love to tear every home up he'd love to tear every family up in this church but I've come to plead the blood in the name of the world over every family that's here but I have come to help us realize what we really have your pastor and I talk occasionally and he'll tell me about a foundation member or either I follow him on Twitter and he will tweet out how that you have lost and I see some gray hairs here today and the foundation some of you that was with this church from the very very beginning and and your pastor would tweet out about when one of you are promoted to the sunny banks of sweet deliverance and the world and this church weighs a little less because we've lost a family member that have given himself totally to the work in the kingdom of God I'll never forget when Mickey and I realized that her mother had come into this dreaded dreaded disease of Alzheimer and we watched this disease as it took my mother-in-law mom Lumpkin and it began to change her and we watched the last year when she couldn't even run for a year and a half she knew no name it was one of the most severe cases that I've ever seen but oh did we ever love her so I might say well why didn't you take her and why didn't you put her in a facility or why didn't you do this or and even if you got them in facility why do you keep on going to see them because there were time we thought was going to have to do this and the answer is very easy people say they don't know who you are they don't know whether you came or didn't come my hands is very easy they may not know who I am but I know who they are nothing like your family you can't you can't put a price tag on your family you you great young couples and investing in your family investing in this church my mother was here and I I understand she gave quite a little talk about how she looks anybody remember that speech she gave well I think she talked about her chin and all that that was sagging around and things going here and there well I just want to show you what she looked like just a few years ago I had that on my phone two weeks ago and ladies and gentlemen there's life that was about 50 60 years ago and now my mother's got all that sag I didn't say it she said it okay I'm not going there I'm glad she was finally able to open up and confess and now I'm not gonna have to send her to a psych and get her help she's really understanding where she is you know so but there's life ladies and gentlemen there's life and we're only given threescore and ten invested in something that matters invested in your family God has given me Mickey you know what a great gift God has given us and God has given us two children that we love dearly and God has given us two grandchildren and and I watch us as we begin to get older we're growing older together Erma Bombeck tells the story of when she was riding down the road when she was a kid and her daddy pulled up to a stop sign and he threw his hand out to keep her from going through the windshield or to hold her back that was really before seatbelts and she said she remembers the day when she was driving down the road and she hit her brakes and threw out her arm to keep her 80 or 90 year old daddy from going through the windshield and the story was basically this when as a child become the parent when his a parent become a child and oh the moving of life and how it moves so fast and this great lady that God gave me it has moved so fast I think this coming May we've been married 45 years now that that's just staggering to me but the older we get we start doing things together because we can't do what we used to do alone without each other and we're in that you know we get in the rocking chair now and talk about what social security is and how much the pensions gonna be and you just you know life is moving so fast and it's moving so fast uh we came in from Dallas and I went to see my kids over there Monday and Tuesday and we got into x' day night we stayed longer than we were going to stay so we got in like seven or eight o'clock and we were at the house and we had the door open when we were unloading and I was in the back I had my iPad going and Mickey started screaming and I couldn't hear her well Mickey feeds twelve cats and they are twelve cats that are Wow and when I say wild cats they they're not they don't attack you but they're they they you you can't get from here to that seat from them until you start feeding them and still they won't come until you leave so we've never had an issue or a problem well all of a sudden I hear her screaming and I I come right now she said what's wrong she said one of the cats had just come into our house I said oh no Mick we're supposed to be packing and we got to leave early in the morning to go to Fredericton and we begin sees I said where did it run said wouldn't our bedrooms geez I said where do you think under the bed so I got my phone out and here's to older people one that's on Social Security and and and one that's headed there you know and she's two years from Social Security and I've done made it so we're putting of that you know and when I said lift up I see it I got his eyes and I said get a broomstick I gotta get this thing going and we chased that and I got that cat out and she had made our doors were taken off our bedroom because they're being redone while we're going she'd made some garbage cans as if that was gonna stop that cat that's our thinking and a cat just flies over and it and that cat sees some stairs and a cat runs up that's upstairs so now we got the cat upstairs so I said you stay down here we'll do this is a team I'll go upstairs and so I go upstairs going I said Mick you the cats come back downstairs she said it has not I've been so I said Mickey the cassadee it sounds like it's in another country she said well we'll look under the chairs so I lifted up the recliner and there was the cat and the cat takes off runs into the wall and father between two boxes and I said we got it so I said get up here quick make a container we get around those box of the cats and we move one those boxes and she runs in that container we put the lid on and we get the cat out of the house to think we did this together we accomplished it I mean come on I'll be 66 in January and she's 60 we're growing old gracefully chasing cats in our house it's on our way up here we we had been in Toronto for a while we were flying in on the plane I said me like a little headache and she said well I have a Tylenol with me so when she went to pour the bottle out the tylenol fell in her lap and I said here let me hold it so I sit there and I've got it all blocked off while she put we can't do anything alone anymore even picking up Tylenol it's a job but oh our great family you can't measure that you can't measure the relationship the way that God has blessed us and now we're downsizing and where did that age where you start pulling things down and things that used to mean something doesn't mean nearly as much and to your younger couples I can't tell you that enjoy being in church enjoy the blessings of God and enjoy life because I did when I was your age but oh if I could ever talk to you from my heart today and tell you the things that really matter is the things of Church in God and the principles of eternity investing your family in the things that are there that's all that really matters Mohammad Ali the great boxer from America that that the world loved and embraced when they were doing the report with him back before he died Sports Illustrated doing it they took him the writer for Sports Illustrated why where's all your trophies where is all the things that you have that you accomplished where is all that he said all that's that's out in the barn and so the reporter said I want to see that and so he took Mohammad Ali took him out there and Parkinson had set in and that man that could float like a butterfly and sting and do the Ali shuffle on sting like a bee all of a sudden he's been over now life has taken its toll and he he's walking in to where all these things are and he he looks at that and he says what about all this look you got and there's there's all kinds of things there hadn't been cleaned they need to be dusted all your championship belts he said what are you doing he said when you get to where I am those things really don't matter anymore and the things that we think in our family that is so important really doesn't matter the thing that matters is the family that's in a deep loving relationship with Jesus Christ and with one another and that can share the things of God you take measure those kind of thing so you can't measure this great church and I'm about done but you can't measure this great church and you can't measure that of a family that you love dearly that you can invest in I'm praying for your pastor that he will fall in love with his grandkids I am going to cancel him Beverly before I leave about how they should love their grandchildren they need to spend more time with him he needs to tweet out some more things about them me he really needs to show some things there's no dollars I can buy the Golden Gate they tell you how to bridge it they can tell you how you can put your my god we get to pay taxes some but you can't measure that it's in the third thing in last is you can't measure the love and the power of Almighty God you can't measure his mercy you can't measure his grace you can't measure his pardon you can't measure his forgiveness there's nobody in here that's done anything except blaspheming the Holy Ghost and I don't believe anybody's done that if you have a blaspheme the Holy Ghost there's nothing that you have done said our being that God can't forgive this morning oh the things that can't be measured oh the love of God oh the mercy of God you can't measure those kind of things and those of you that's in a situation you feel like your backs against the wall and it seems like Mickey was singing those songs to you this morning I want to tell you God has an answer and God already has a plan for those of you that's in this church God already has a plan to bring you out of that Valley and that situation that you in God already has a plan tell you you can't measure the grace of God you can't measure the mercy of God you take measure the love of God you can't measure the redemption power of God you can't measure that you can't measure the love of God the story is told of the chess champion that went to the Art Gallery in Europe and going past the Art Gallery he came to a painting that was called checkmate and that painting of checkmate was a painting of a chess game and it had the devil with his pitchfork on one side of the table and the mat and on the other side was this man and this devil was just laughing and grinning with his pitchfork and on the other end of that mat this man he was crying he felt so humiliated and it was called checkmate well this champion chess player looked at that and he saw something that wasn't just right and so he called for the proprietor and he said would you please do you have a a chess board he said yes I do he said would you bring me a table and a chair and would you allow me just a few minutes here in front of that painting and so he sat down with that table and that chair in front of that painting and he began to study it and he began to look at it and a smile came on his face and he called the proprietor and he said come here sir come here he said I am a chess champion he said I do this for a living and he said I want you to find the man who painted this picture and I want you to call him and tell him something I look at this and I've got it figured out on this board he has one more move and some of you are here this morning you feel so checkmate you feel like life has you maybe it's your finances our family situation that didn't work maybe it's a message like this that everything just didn't go like you planned you let me tell you the devil would like to convince you that you're checkmate the devil lights convinced you that you found but I've come here today to tell you that God has come to set you free I don't care what you've done I don't care where you've been I don't care what you said but I'm the leadership of those two men and God God will restore your ministry God will restore your life God will pull your back you're not dead done and delivered but God's hand is upon you and God's resting on you and God glory is flowing lot of us have lost our joy because life has knocked the breath out of us and we've been fired from a job or situations our finances are there but I'm gonna tell you joy is getting ready to come your happiness and your well-being in your spirituality you're not checkmate God is coming today to let you know that he has set you free God has the final move and when you look through the Word of God and I've got to move fast but when you look through the Word of God the devil always thought he has the Lord countered when the Lord created angels Lucifer reacted negatively to the move and rebelled against God and took one third of the Angels with him then God countered that move by creating man in his own image a little lower than the angels and satan rebelled against that move by getting Adam and Eve to go to the tree and he moved them outside of that garden but God tailored that move by providing a redemptive covering for Adam and Eve so that they could return to the fellowship of God and of course when God moved the devil moved again by getting Cain to kill Abel in order to cut out the godly line and that's when God countered that move with the verse of Seth so that meant that time began to call on the name of the Lord that's when Satan made another move through the verse of Nimrod who built the civilization of Babylon in Assyria they gathered at the Tower of Babel to build a religion in defiance of God but that's when God countered that move by going into the land in the early counties and finding a man by the name of Abraham and saying I'm going to create a way for a nation that will obey saying terror that moves by taking that people down into Egypt so that Pharaoh will not let them go but God countered that move by going to Moses in Midian and telling him go tell Pharaoh to let my people go all through that Old Testament you will find God moves and the devil counter moves God moves and the devil counter moves and God me and God and God and will you finally close the last book of the Bible and it seems like that everything is over 400 years of solid and it seems like everything is dead but when you open up that New Testament and you get in Matthew 1 it starts this kind of stuff and so and so begat so and so and so and so begat so and so until you get to chapter 1 verse 16 and it said Joseph was married to Mary by whom was born Jesus Christ up into this time in the Old Testament God had used a man and he finally realized well that man can't do it thank God for Abraham and Moses and all that they've accomplished but I'm getting ready to make another man and the man that I'm gonna make this time is gonna be my body and I'm gonna roll myself in flesh and I'm coming down to this earth and I'm gonna die for them so God became man and dwelt among us it was a moon you very much my last movie devil don't like what I'm preaching he just can't move I'm getting ready to move right now somebody's getting ready to get the Holy Ghost somebody's get ready to be delivered somebody's gonna leave here shouting this morning I got a plane oh you came back you can't measure that we're gonna celebrate December 25th you can't measure that and then you can't measure pilots judgment all you can't measure the Garden of Gethsemane where he prays it were great drops of blood the back was ripped open when they came out of there with that beating have won the battle but what he didn't know is God still had another move and one more move and I've come to this services party to tell you that the resurrection coming for some door there's an Easter Sunday morning coming for some of y'all some of you walked in here with no joy you walked in here life's beat you down you walked in here and family has pulled you down but this morning I've come to tell you God is here to set you free God is here to deliver God is here to give you America I wish somebody just shout with me go ahead brother there's an elder of the church go ahead that's what we all want to be doing right now we got one more move we've got one more shout I don't take it on your feet in the current right now go and get on your feet Nick parish shop don't everybody give a shout to the Lord I'm not gonna preach the next part of my message cuz tonight I'm gonna reach it don't miss the night whatever you do don't miss the night but I'm gonna tell you something something's getting ready to happen and it's not gonna just be an election in America Tuesday in fact that may be bringing about what I'm getting ready to talk about a little quicker God's got one more move with all this place messed up and with the nations like they are and your nation like it is and you're like it is and traditional marriage gone everything that's happening and everybody thumbing their nose at God and the things of God and the principles of God I'm gonna tell you one thing God is getting ready to give us one more move and the move is gonna be the rapture of the church that is called by his name he's gonna take that church that is called by his name way you get in that Brides to be born again of water and spirit he said I'm so glad I've been baptized in the name of Jesus I took on his name this morning if you're in this room you've never been baptized in Jesus name don't leave here without getting baptized in Jesus name we're the only Church in this city unless it's another Apostolic Church let me clarify that another Apostolic Church we're the only Church in this city that doesn't baptize for church membership we baptize for one reason that is the remission of your sins in other words when you get in that water and you go down in Jesus name every sin you've ever committed is washed away if you never come back to this church we want you back here Wednesday night or whatever your mid-war tonight but if you never come back to this church I'd still want to be baptized in Jesus name because it gets my sins washed away and it puts me in the cabin of guy toddler baptize you what I'm gonna preach about tonight God will baptize you with the Holy Ghost and that is the Sputnik that is the rocket that is the engine that propels you from this earth to heaven it is the spirit that same spirit that raised up Christ from the dwell there if it well in you it shall quicken your mortal bodies it's that Holy Ghost that's gonna be the quickening of your body that's gonna get you out of here I plan on being in the rapture this is gonna be very simple to our guests all of our guests you can do this we're not gonna come down we're not gonna ask you to shake the pastor's favor today if you want to go to hell if Heaven is your goal whether you've been serving God 50 60 years you've been serving God 60 minutes are you a mystery if your goal is heaven would you walk and stand at the front of this church this is close you want to go to heaven but would you come to front that's that you're gonna matter how old you are your goals come on this we're not gonna ask you thinking you're going I would trust everybody in here would come this morning your goal is to come to hell that's it thank you mrs. just get as close as you can all of our guests are coming this is wonderful your goal is to go and this shirts a big cannon get to the author and then wonderful in that a great problem that we gotta stay in the eye I take it close cuz your clothes get get as close as you can heck I hire a limo would she come here little my daddy Seiko yell LMI ashika you know my house are yellow behind we wouldn't there embarrass any of our gift guests so if you're not comfortable doing this it's fine don't don't do it because your pastor doesn't put people on the spot and neither do i but if you have ever wanted the Holy Ghost are you would like to speak with tongues or that would be a part and you haven't spoken with tongues in here in this room and you haven't spoken with tongues don't feel obligated to raise your hands but you don't mind saying I won't there's one there's two there's three god bless you male is there anyone else okay just come up here just a moment do you man I'm gonna pray with you I believe God's benefits come on man I believe God's gonna feel you come on me I'm not believed lovely we got four up here that wants the Holy Ghost this morning in that great and I know how he loves you but he's got one more movie for you and that's the Holy Ghost you're gonna speak with tongues as the Spirit of God gives you the utterance it won't be your language it'll be his language but the key is you speak the spirit of geodes and all of us wanted to join you we're going to do this together we're all getting ready to be baptized that's what I'm gonna put you back tonight and I'm gonna be doing this again tonight come on push it pick it up that's great I thought that Holy Ghost - I can tell you that I love is this is easy skills first of all you just simply have to believe in Jesus Christ you got to believe that he's your Lord and that he's your Savior and that he can redeem the second thing we have to do which we're gonna do together and the moment you ask he's gonna forgive you God is gonna forgive you everything you've ever done you're going to be forgiven and if you choose the third thing is you're gonna believe that he can do that you've got to believe that your hundreds of people they've all receive the Holy Ghost those that have spoken with tongues would you raise your hands what would you look around I want you to look so the promise is to you all these gadot God doesn't love them anymore he loves you he loved you just as much as he loves me so if he gave it to me and these other hundreds of people he's going to give it to you this morning and the last evolution you'd better go right now Jimmy we cannot get it without repentance so I want the whole shower Wow because everyone in here all the way back all the way back everyone in this room in Jesus name is getting ready to speak with tongues well I've had it for 30 years you need it again well I talk in tongues a week ago if you had talked in tongues and last five minutes you need it again so when I give the command we're not just going to be praying with him we're gonna haul so I hands up and all of us are going to be baptized with the Holy give and all these people are gonna be repenting I'm not gonna pray a prayer of repentance for you you're gonna pray that prayer together so you just raise your hands and all of us everybody church would you repent right now come on Church would you repent all of us God forgive me is the preacher anything I've said or done anything that's in my heart Oh God forgive Anthony Mangan I ask you to search the secret compartments of my heart Oh God I ask you to look in the secret compartments of my heart and move their great God move into my heart forgive me of my sins God even though I'm a minister of your gospel there's things I say and do that doesn't please you and this morning I asked you to I ask you to forgive me I ask you to forgive me repent now I have a question I have a question for you do you believe do you believe the Lord forgave do you believe the Lord forgave you you believe the Lord forgave you leave the Lord there's no reason why you don't get the Holy Ghost so we're getting ready to praise Him and I'm gonna give a command and here's the way it's gonna go and these people aren't gonna be praying with and it'll be watching you because I prayed for them to receive the Holy Ghost afresh in new they can't throw their hands up when I give the command they gonna all start - I don't know follow them but most of it won't it they gonna start talking in tongues and this whole congregation gonna be talking in tongues and we believe my faith so are you don't worry about somebody the Holy Ghost begin to flow okay so you're just like you did don't be intimidated and that hallelujahs gonna change and you're gonna begin to speak a heavenly
