These Couples Need Therapy - Love is Blind Season 2 Episodes 6 - 9 RECAP

love is blind season two is back again and this time our pod couples are heading back to real life and all of the troubles that that can bring like living together meeting families and of course shayna they also have to plan a wedding which is no easy feat when you're engaged to this guy i want one thing i want i want to wear a k i got tux cape that's all i ask okay this isn't bridgerton this man has no clue what bridgeton is but if he did i bet he'd be asking natalie to tell him things like for you so over these next four episodes the podstars are also going to be checking out each other's places meeting the families picking out their wedding dresses and tuxes having a bachelor and bachelorette party and then finally getting to the wedding day or at least for now we're gonna be seeing one couple get there and in true love is blind fashion there are a whole lot of ups and downs in between like we just left jared and ayanna after jarrod told mallory his paw dating number one choice that he would have gotten her the right ring if she had said yes to him then he told ayanna that keeping in touch with your exes is no problem now he's showing her around his place that's loaded with gifts from his exes so naturally ayanna is a little bit on edge my clock is ticking i can't wait to have kids is that why you almost chose mallory because she's more established and she can just have kids [Music] oh dang that one's gotta hurt but nothing gets worse than the relationship between shayna and kyle one is a creationist the other believes the words of charles darwin and even though shayna ditched kyle in mexico she's still willing to have him come and meet her parents which goes alright until they find out he's not a godly man yeah do you believe in you know christ oh no i no i don't [Music] uh [Music] so to no one's surprise mom doesn't approve of the relationship i like kyle i just don't think kyle is the one for her i would not be able to give shannon my blessing well this is all the excuse shayna needs so after the family meeting she turns to kyle and breaks the news kyle i can't marry you i need someone who is the same faith as me i want a man who's going to be able to spiritually lead me now kyle is upset saying you should have brought this issue up more which like dude she did all the time but he is right when he says you should have never said yes to me seriously you're 100 right and you know what it just feels like you've been lying to me the whole time but also you know you probably never should have asked her just saying well shayna then gives back his mom's engagement ring and we are one pod couple down but now that shayna is single the ghost of jessica from season 1 is free to enter her body and take over as shayna has someone else's man on her mind i feel me being attracted to shane i can't stop like thinking about that now all of this is leading up to a special get-together that's been organized where the engaged couples are going to get to meet with some of the pod daters that didn't find love like haseeb remember him and uh veto i've never met this man in my life it's also production's way of getting shane and shayna into the same room which once they sit down goes pretty much as you'd expect shayna told natalie that if the relationship didn't work out she has a guy who she could hook her up with and natalie didn't take that well so when shane brings that up shayna goes off and basically craps all over their relationship i don't know if you guys are bored in your relationship that you guys had to like throw me in there you don't think it's a red flag your guys's relationship it's a fake ass relationship no offense because it is a fake-ass relationship i know this was a wild conversation that all stems from shayna hoping to break things down so she can swoop in but honestly this whole time i was just relieved that shane could see shayna and we'd never have to hear another anyways what are you wearing over there he does however say he's sorry about her and kyle with far too big of a grin on his face i'm sorry about you and kyle but somehow someway after this this is the last we see of shayna unless of course she drops into the finale and from this point on shane and natalie are free to plan their wedding and let me tell you shane here really needs to consider a career in wedding planning water is a water fountain right and just flows out numerous tubes and whatnot and it's old-fashioned and then we have cheese curds hot dogs pizza mac and cheese shane my entire family's lactose intolerant really all right this man is a walking meme now speaking of natalie's family natalie is a little worried about them meeting shane and she hasn't even told them that she's engaged so when it's time to meet mom is a little shocked so i'm engaged oh my god this is like shane in my apartment what we're getting married in two weeks what do you want to see the ring no i don't want to see it okay but i really do love natalie's dad this whole time like he's just going with it he's just like more spontaneous i think which which is good yeah which is good that's good he's like very very kind that's good that's good hit a stretcher oh my gosh why are you laughing ultimately though shane has kept us cool and he doesn't do anything stupid and mom is won over by his charm i guess now i met you um i mean i feel really good the energy that i get from you that makes me very happy i wonder if she'd be saying that if she knew how much shane likes to spend on food a month i don't really believe in 401ks where i spend my money is on food oh my god over like probably twelve hundred dollars what's a core blaster extreme that is by far the best way to strengthen your core it strengthens your entire core your back core your arm core your the marine corps actually uses it and for the most part none of the family meetings are disasters yeah there are some small hiccups like mallory's sister is a little skeptical of it all and there also appears to be something going on with mallory's parents not wanting to be there for the wedding or on camera or something but otherwise it's fairly smooth sailing danielle's family gets real comfortable talking with nick do i see a hickey there oh okay i know it's still very evident so how sexually active are you guys get a header out here it's a serious question jumping in the lake i've learned a lot today about my family's sex life jared's dad who is a minister sweetly asks if he can conduct the ceremony it means it would mean the world to me to be able to perform you guys ceremony shane's mom loves natalie even though shane keeps ruining the moment with stuff like all right i'm gonna take a number two i'll see you guys later seriously walking meme all of deepti's family gets along with shake the first guy deepti's dated who wasn't white no most of the conflict in these episodes comes from outside of the family like speaking of shake and deep d shake here is still unsure about his physical attraction to deep d she reminds me so much of my aunt let me ask you this what have you done should you try to make it better wait a minute is that a rare moment of constructive insight from shane um what's happening here and i'll be honest with you your weight's not working so far is it it's not no so why don't you stop it your way so shake is truly the tom haverford of love is blind superficial on the outside and mostly superficial on the inside too how old are you 33 i prefer dating younger how do you i'm 32. tell me about you talk about your friends be as superficial as possible but there is this smidge smidge of something there that makes you wonder is there hope like after his mom and dad meet deepti and his mom dunks on him for being an absolute idiot being very frank i'm very much identifying with her right now more than you and she's a wonderful person and i do she doesn't deserve someone who gives her even half a percent less shake starts to realize that maybe he'll never find someone like deepti again and the physical stuff is something they can build on but in true tom haverford fashion he says it like this i want you emotionally before i actually you before i find out you're good in bed i want to find out you're good in head what a poet also side note i was really disappointed when they went to visit shake's place like i was half expecting it to be like oh my god is that yep a whole shelf of coconut water boutique eye cream unisex cologne lip exfoliator chocolate covered almonds and a sudoku book just amenities everywhere i love amenities i know moving on to ayana and jarrett most of their issues revolve around jarrett consistently going out with his buddies past 3am which he says he'll reign in considering he's supposed to become a married man mallory freaks out after a woman harasses sal's sisters saying she was in a relationship with sal something sal shuts down saying he was with her but was single well before starting this experiment but the real issue i want to talk about is with nick and danielle as all through the few weeks they spend together in between the honeymoon phase and their actual wedding the two always seem to start off the evening happy then things turn to a fight if he's walking into this car not as happy as i am he's not here for the right route that's what i was thinking did you ever think the world doesn't revolve around like you oh okay then they're happy again but then fight when did i say danielle i'm upset that you hung out with your friends and i that's not allowed you said i was questioning if this is what it's gonna be like every weekend you're putting words in my mouth and making things i never got upset with you then they're happy again and then yep another fight like again like uh this is a marriage and i taking this very seriously you don't think i'm taking this seriously i do i know that you are it doesn't sound like implying that you're not it doesn't sound like you do like every time you see a scene with these two you know what it's going to turn into and that does get tiring now don't get me wrong i truly love that this relationship is on tv right now because i feel as though it's a more raw realistic look into how hard relationships can be and isn't some kind of fantasy like we often get on reality tv dating shows but these two need couples therapy which let me first of all say is not a bad thing they just at this time don't have the right tools to properly communicate with each other when danielle gets triggered or nick misunderstands something and gets angry i think it would be a smart and interesting addition to the show to add a section with a couple's therapist because it really seems as though there's something in danielle's past that hasn't been addressed apart from just the self-esteem issues couples therapy could really help these two or any of these couples to better understand how they operate and avoid starting fights when really the two are already on the same page but now that all the couples have moved in seen each other's places met most of each other's families there are only a couple more things to do before the wedding day first pick out the wedding outfits as the bros take their friends suit shopping while the ladies take their friends family and soon to be in-laws wedding dress shopping and as the doomsday clock goes from 21 days until the wedding to just one it's now time for the bachelor and bachelorette parties an event that last season brought us such wonderful moments as we need to drink an appetizer um [Music] so this time the guys are going to be hitting some balls in wrigley field where shane feels right at home playing some baseball and chirping the others it's me so bad [Music] wow some pretty big talk but let's see what shane can do slow didn't you play college i should have known meanwhile the ladies get a party boat to ride down the chicago river which reminds me when i was little i actually lived in chicago for a while i remember taking one of those river tours with my family and i'll never forget when the tour guide said with such pride that the river was no longer considered toxic and had just been reclassified to highly dangerous so i guess what i'm trying to say is don't fall in ladies now apparently everyone here saw how the party went last season so this time things are a lot more reined in mostly people just discuss their feelings and anxieties heading into the wedding day and not even one person drunkenly goes hey look i'm king of the world major disappointment but with that it is now wedding day and while most of this is going to be reserved for the finale next week we do get to see the majority of nick and danielle's day now basically for these two it's not a matter of do they want to be together it's more do they think that marriage is the right step at this time nick and i discussed what we were going to say this morning and we're still not on the same page he's saying like you know i don't think you're ready and and i think that it's best for you if we don't do it so danielle is all in she wants to say yes nick on the other hand doesn't know if it's the right thing for danielle with all of her anxieties and worries to be jumping in so quickly to a lifelong commitment like will rushing into marriage be the thing that actually leads to them drifting apart and sometimes it truly is heartbreaking listening to danielle talk about herself like check out what she says when they're dress shopping i'm incredibly insecure and it's very rare that i'll look at myself in the mirror and like what i see and so the fact that i looked at myself in and truly felt beautiful for the first time it is an overwhelming amount of emotions that i'm feeling or how about this from their actual wedding day i'll feel devastated if nick says no like i want to be mad if he says no i want to be angry but can't blame him to be honest that's so sad but time's up the wedding has begun danielle walks down the aisle nick's been out in the heat for hours looking like this the whole time and finally we get to the i do's starting with danielle as you've unfortunately come to learn i am the most indecisive person in the world then the only clear decision that i've ever had has been you i do absolutely so it's now down to nick will he say yes will they be married [Music] that's something we're gonna have to find out next week as this one ends on yet another cliffhanger
