โ€œBlah blah blah. Greg Glassman. Blah blah blah. A tweet. Blah blah. I want to compete. If I spend 9 minutes talking, can I go back to the gym?โ€

Donโ€™t waste time watching.

Protecting her paycheck.

She was more irate about people getting cut during the 2019 games for stupid penalties.

Bet she wishes she waited 8 hours before hitting publish on this one.

This was a whole lot of nothing, and I don't think she's trying hard enough to see the bigger picture here. This is not, as she describes, about one tweet bringing down a company. That is categorically not the situation we find ourselves in. I love Tia, I really do... but this was a big swing and a miss.

The more I learn about professional exercisers the less I like them. I long for the days of Mikko, Graham, and Froning.

TLDW:

Thanks for pulling me off of the kangaroo farm and helping me earn over a million bucks in my 20s. I used the platform you gave me to write a book, travel the world and do something other than the power-point making that my friends back home are doing at work. Today, I live halfway around the world at the heart of a community that did not exist until you created it, Greg.

I will now feign outrage-disappointment about your insensitivity to cultural issues of which I have no meaningful understanding.

I get it, CrossFit is her life and the Games is the ultimate achievement for her but athletes (especially the top tier ones like herself) hold more power than she seems to realize in this video.

If all of the top 10-20 perennial CrossFit athletes formed together with some of their sponsors they can quickly start the new gold standard in the competitive fitness industry. Sure, maybe in 2020 it wonโ€™t be the Games (especially with Covid-19 limiting events) but just look how quickly the Games went from a handful of people lifting weights at a ranch to what it is today.

Iโ€™m a bit bummed out this was Tiaโ€™s response, I can tell she cares and sheโ€™s sincere but I feel like she gives HQ too much credit and hints to the Games or even the world of competitive fitness not being possible without Greg Glassmanโ€™s organization.

[Music] all right so what I want to do today is pretty much just talk my thoughts about what's really going on in the world and really how I'm feeling about it all where I'm at with it all and giving a bit of a insight to the things that I have been trying to process and trying to figure out what the best solution and what the best side to be on is really so I want to take this time to really talk about my thoughts and in what's happened recently with CrossFit and and the recent allegations towards Greg Glassman and I guess really the negative impact it has had on the CrossFit community and CrossFit headquarters I understand and know that no matter what side I choose to be on I'm [Music] there's going to be people throughout the world that are going to disagree with me and as much as I want to make everyone happy and I want to do the right thing by everyone else the only thing that I can really do and say other things that I truly believe to be right and going off all the information that I have about a week and a half ago there was a tweet by Greg Glassman the owner of CrossFit headquarters that came out with a racial and very controversial tweet saying Floyd 19 and especially with the time that we are going through in the world right now with black lives matter and you know a lot of riots happening especially in the u.s. that came across and really hit a lot of people in a very bad way and it was something that I definitely did not agree on in terms of I thought that he was being insensitive to a lot of people and I truly believe that it just wasn't necessary not only did a tweet come out but there was also screenshots of an actual email to a number of affiliate owners and when I read those emails I personally was disgusted in the way people were being treated and being accused of something that I thought Rick had no right to be accusing someone of and those behaviors by Greg Glassman was something that I definitely didn't agree on and felt very strongly about not supporting and wanting to be a part of anything that Greg was simply a part of so after all this had come out and you know it really did affect a lot of people myself included and sponsors of my own actually made the decision to no longer be a part of CrossFit and also a bunch of athletes that felt very strongly on announcing that they were no longer going to be a part of a CrossFit community that supported or had anything to do with Greg Glassman and in my opinion I understand exactly where those athletes and the companies were coming from because I definitely don't condone that that either but something that was very important for me and why I didn't post or say that I am out of the CrossFit Games is because a part of me really wants to make sure that I have all my information before I start making decisions about my future in my opinion you know there was a lot riding on what was going on in my life and you know I edited so much time and energy into training that I all I want to do is compete and so to be asked the question on whether or not I'm going to be competing at the CrossFit Games are not this season it was not an easy question to answer and it's still something that I haven't answered because I'm still constantly having to ask myself which which way do I want to go and that doesn't mean that I'm silencing and it doesn't mean that I'm not taking action because in that time in the past week and a half I have been on numerous amount of phone calls to both people that still work in the CrossFit headquarters but also people outside of the CrossFit headquarters and for me I really believe that before making any decisions or or going after specific actions I really want to make sure that I have everything I need in order to one make a stand or to support the decision that I choose to make just because of what one man said shouldn't tarnish the rest of the organization and the good people that still work under that banner unfortunately that's exactly what is happening and we can't deny that and it saddens me so much because the people that I have developed relationships with over these years through competing in CrossFit I have made friends that I I wish and hope that will be in my life for many years to come and there are really good people and I know wouldn't support what Gregg has said and I also know that they had nothing to do with Greg's actions and are feeling very frustrated and hurt by those actions from their CEO and you know that's definitely something that I really need to consider when thinking about what my next plans are in the future because I know all they want to do is bring the community together they want to create a event like the CrossFit Games that brings positivity into the world and it showcases what all the athletes have been doing through the Coburg 19 and you know training the house down so that they can show off their talents to the rest of the world and it hurts me to think and it makes me so sad to think that those people are still trying to do good in the world and still trying to turn the company around after the heat and the velocity that they're feeling from people that are hurt in our community and it's just so sad that this is just all being generated by one man who is just so frustrating one thing is for sure is that I definitely do not support or condone and I do not believe in what Greg Glassman said I personally have only ever met him once which was less than a year ago and unfortunately because of those actions it has tarnished what he has created which is something that I absolutely love and want to have a part of my life for ever I do believe Greg Glassman should be held responsible for his actions and I really hope that by this experience and the people he is hurt by reckless conversation has made him realize just how careful he has to be and how sensitive he should be when it comes to people from all over the world personally all I want to do is compete I want to put on a show for the people out there in the world and I want to shed some positivity on the world especially after going through this covert 19 I know I have a been vocal on social media as much as what some of the other athletes have been but for me it's so important that I'm making the best decision for not only myself but for the people that support me for my family and friends for the CrossFit community for affiliates for even the people the good people that cross their headquarters and for also the people that are just working around the clock to try and accommodate and recover everything that's been going on and I understand it's not easy to make everyone happy but I am truly trying my very best to do the right thing thank you for listening and as everything unfolds I truly believe out of this hard time something great will come of this and the CrossFit community will be stronger than ever
