Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
In short this is what she said:
>! Nothing !<
She was prob better off not even putting out a video.
โBlah blah blah. Greg Glassman. Blah blah blah. A tweet. Blah blah. I want to compete. If I spend 9 minutes talking, can I go back to the gym?โ
Donโt waste time watching.
Protecting her paycheck.
She was more irate about people getting cut during the 2019 games for stupid penalties.
Bet she wishes she waited 8 hours before hitting publish on this one.
This was a whole lot of nothing, and I don't think she's trying hard enough to see the bigger picture here. This is not, as she describes, about one tweet bringing down a company. That is categorically not the situation we find ourselves in. I love Tia, I really do... but this was a big swing and a miss.
The more I learn about professional exercisers the less I like them. I long for the days of Mikko, Graham, and Froning.
TLDW:
Thanks for pulling me off of the kangaroo farm and helping me earn over a million bucks in my 20s. I used the platform you gave me to write a book, travel the world and do something other than the power-point making that my friends back home are doing at work. Today, I live halfway around the world at the heart of a community that did not exist until you created it, Greg.
I will now feign outrage-disappointment about your insensitivity to cultural issues of which I have no meaningful understanding.
I get it, CrossFit is her life and the Games is the ultimate achievement for her but athletes (especially the top tier ones like herself) hold more power than she seems to realize in this video.
If all of the top 10-20 perennial CrossFit athletes formed together with some of their sponsors they can quickly start the new gold standard in the competitive fitness industry. Sure, maybe in 2020 it wonโt be the Games (especially with Covid-19 limiting events) but just look how quickly the Games went from a handful of people lifting weights at a ranch to what it is today.
Iโm a bit bummed out this was Tiaโs response, I can tell she cares and sheโs sincere but I feel like she gives HQ too much credit and hints to the Games or even the world of competitive fitness not being possible without Greg Glassmanโs organization.
