we know that one of the main attractions in Mexico are its beautiful sandy beaches so if you've been thinking about moving to a beach in Mexico these are the six most popular beaches to live in Mexico now you may be wondering popular with who these beaches were voted on by people like you you see I sent out a survey to over 20,000 people and these were by far the six most requested beaches by our followers in this video we will covered things like weather overall Vibe cost of living availability of Medical Services transportation and accessibility to products and services and because we want to give you not only the good but the Bad and the Ugly we'll be talking about some pros as well as some cons for each City so let's get right into it starting with our sixth most requested Beach let's get right into buas it has a population of approximately 177,000 people so it's also very touristic and it's very popular with people from the United States and Canada who want to either live here full-time or even part-time now renting can vary drastically depending on the rental but to give you an idea you can expect to pay 177,000 pesos a month for a furnished two-bedroom condo that is not facing the beach the closer you want to be to the beach the more expensive your rent will be now one thing to note is that in any touristic Beach destination in Mexico there is going to be a high and low season which means that rental prices fluctuate depending on demand another thing to note is that if you plan to rent for less than a year you can also expect your monthly rate to be slightly higher if you move to a beach town like Bas you'll definitely want to have air conditioning to withstand the tropical heat an average electric bill will run you around 2500 BS a month for a twers household everything else like water gas and internet with 100 megab download speed will run you an average of 1,500 by p a month so for practical purposes let's set an estimated cost of utilities for beach towns in Mexico of 4,000 pesos a month if you add shopping entertainment and emergency let's say another 15,000 Pesos a month so that gives a couple an average monthly spending of about 36,000 pesos a month in buas but it's not only the lower cost of living that's appealing about buas you see another major reason people move here is for the sunny Beach weather but this can also be a reason that many people who underestimate the heat end up leaving to give you an idea you can expect the highs here to be in the '90s and lows in the 80s with high humidity in the summer months now if you're thinking about moving here I recommend coming in August which is the hottest month that way you know what to expect when it's really hot the proximity to the United States or Canada is also a major draw for people coming here you're only 20 minutes away from the Puerto vaera International Airport it makes it super easy for you to visit loved ones or for loved ones to come and visit you another nice thing about Buss is that it has a lot of shopping options you have big box supermarkets and local markets you can find it all in town if you have knee issues you'll appreciate that busetas tends to have flat terrain so you won't have to worry so much about climbing too many stairs or Hills hospitals and Healthcare and town are great even if the city is considered to be smaller but if you do need a specialist that doesn't have a practice in town chances are you can be only 30 minutes away in Puerto via and have your specialist there in our number five spot we have wulo located on waka's Coast in the Pacific it is unique starting with its layout which consists of nine natural Bays that's why it's called B zulco this is a favorite City amongst us and Canadian retirees who represent the majority of the xat population here the weather in wulco is you guessed it hot and humid to give you an idea the average Highs are in the low '90s with about 70 to 90% humidity in the hottest months which are May through September some people love this and some people underestimate how muggy it can feel cusita is one of the most popular areas to live in wulco crusita is divided into sectors named after letters in my opinion you should look into sector H which is downtown crusita if you want a more upscale condo with ocean views another popular neighborhood is tangolunda a huge plus to living in wulco is the International Airport which is only a 20 minute drive from crusita and to this airport you can fly to cities like Houston Chicago Toronto or Calgary now some other things that you might want to consider about wulco is that it is prone to hurricanes and earthquakes there are some English speakers but it's not as common as in other beach destinations so it is better to learn espanol Watco is semi-secluded especially by Road this contributes to the peacefulness of the town but can also translate into the lack of services medical services in town are good but you might struggle to find bilingual staff or certain Specialties if you come with pre-existing conditions this is not a party town so it's perfect for someone who likes quiet beach towns internet does tend to be unreliable in wulco so it's not the most convenient place for people who work remotely a lot of people we know and have interviewed on this channel are living comfortably on $2,000 or less in wulco I'm going to leave the links in the description of this video to those interviews now taking the fourth spot on our list is a gorgeous city of of laas this is the capital city of the state of baka California Sur is situated in the southern part of the state in a privilege location within the Gulf of California people love its Landscapes beaches food low cost of living and the proximity to the United States even though laas is an 18-hour drive from the US border so something to consider that most likely you want to fly you'll notice a lot of American plated cars on the streets in laas because because a temporary import permit is not needed to drive your foreign plated car here it's part of what is known as the free zone the entire Baja Peninsula is part of the Free Zone which means that if you have a foreign plated car you do not need to get a temporary import permit now another reason why it has become so popular is because the weather is a bit more bearable than other beach towns in Mexico now don't get me wrong it's still hot most of the year but because the Baha Peninsula is mostly desert the winter months get a lot less humidity and the nights tend to get a little bit cooler from May through October you can expect weather in the mid99s don't expect that much rain though since it only gets about 2 to 3 weeks of rain throughout the year what makes La pass unique is a combination of desert and tropical beaches that creates an out of this world landscape however one concern that some people have is that because it is becoming more and more populated that the lack of rain and water reserves could also mean a lack of water for the city something to be aware of there are several markets supermarkets and malls for your convenience and because of the proximity to the Border it's a lot easier to find International and imported products now the most desired areas for expats is normally near the Malon or El cenario to give you an idea a furnished two bedroom two bath apartment can range anywhere between 15,000 pesel to over 20,000 pesel a month many landlords in laas are very open into month-to-month rental agreements so don't be afraid to ask now you can add another 4,000 pesos in utilities plus another 8,000 pesel a month for groceries for a twers household and about another 8,000 pesel a month for leisure and emergencies that brings your average to 40,000 pesos a month for a comfortable life in lapas for a two-person household the international airport is only 20 minutes away from the city center and it offers direct flights to a few cities in the United States and Canada as well as connections to other parts of the world and Mexico now the city itself is walkable as long as you stay within the central areas going Beyond downtown and urban areas can be a hassle since a public transportation system isn't great having a car in this part of the country can be very convenient especially if you like to explore neighboring towns and beaches a couple of other things that you might want to consider one thing mentioned a lot by newcomers is that compared to other cities in Mexico many many have felt that locals in laas aren't as friendly at the beginning but once they get to know you as their neighbor the people in lapas are very friendly and very helpful it just takes them longer to warm up to strangers one way you can overcome this is by making a true effort to learn espanol and don't be afraid to practice it often showing your neighbors you're trying to integrate will go a long way here in third place we have Progresso in the beautiful state of Yucatan this is a chill Beach town where time seems to slow down down and for some reason all you want to do is enjoy the sunset with a fresh drink in your hand the people here are kind and warm as long as you respectful and kind to their culture yukos are very proud people and they should be as or Landon culture is very rich now some people have mentioned that yukos are rude I wouldn't use that word it's just a different set of manners and traditions around here and to overcome this it's important to understand and respect the local traditions and Customs so I highly encourage you to to make a couple of local friends and really understand the Yuko life progo has a sizable Foreigner Community consisting mainly of us and Canadian retirees many of them have settled in Progresso or the neighboring ports of chna CH chalm Chik shalu and cisel you also have a nice hot tropical weather but sometimes it can get too hot however in a place like progo it becomes way more manageable since you're just a few steps from the beach which makes the early morning mornings and nights a lot cooler nonetheless you will need air conditioning to survive the spring and summer temperatures since they can rise well over above 100° f with about 90 to 100% humidity now the cost of living is reasonable when you compare it to other Mexican beaches for instance a realistic average rent price will be around 16,000 pesos for a comfortable one-bedroom rental you can expect to pay around 20,000 pesos a month after adding standard cost of utilities we could round it up to 30,000 pesos or about $1,800 a month considering you're going to be going out and other monthly expenses such as Healthcare now another popular draw about Progresso is that commuting to Med that is very common this is because as developed as Progresso is it's still a small Beach town so sometimes there can be a lack of product and services for instance medical services and grocery shopping are better and more diverse in Med there arees Hospitals and Clinics as well as local markets and supermarkets in Progresso however you might not find all that you need or you may be a little bit disappointed with the quality of products and services that's why a lot of people make a trip to Meda either once or every two weeks and if you don't have a car there are shuttles to Meda leaving every 15 minutes or so you just need to head downtown and look for a place called AO Progresso another reason why you might find yourself commuting to Meda is is to have more options for entertainment if you like to have a nice night out or experience cultural festivals or artistic events and Med that is a great place for that I would say this is the perfect Beach if you're looking to slow down your pace of life but want to have the convenience of being close to a big city this is our second most desired Beach to live in Mexico according to our voters let's show you a bit about maatan the city is located on the coast of Cal in Northwestern Mexico with an international airport and the arrival of cruise ships to the port the city is now a hot spot not only for domestic Travelers but for people from all over the world who want to come and enjoy one of Mexico's beautiful beaches there are natural elevations in Hills but the weather is still very tropical year round summer temperatures can rise well above 105° F so be prepared for this while it's not too common for hurricanes to hit Mazatlan it has happened and there's always a suggestion to remain prepared for it maslan is also the shrimp capital of the world so logically most of the traditional dishes here include shrimp served in all kinds of styles and remember to always look for little street food stands they are known as Marisa now if you don't eat seafood don't worry you have a lot of great steak options and amazing street tacos everywhere you go masan was one of the best best eating experiences we've come across so far hands down and unlike some other cities on this video maslan is considered a Party Town most of the tourists come after The Eclectic night life that the City offers and while there are also people who come to relax the vibe of the town is mostly Young Wild and Free especially at night the city provides enough amenities and things to do so you don't have to travel long distances to get either products services or entertainment a good example of this is the shopping experience here you have several local markets as well as big box supermarkets which which bring imported products constantly as well as big shopping centers and malls with big department stores and International clothing brands again this is considered to be a big city with a more lively setting if you like big cities but also the beach maslan is a place for you now one thing that some newcomers don't love is the amount of construction going on with more Resorts and highrise condos being built as we speak which adds to the noise and movement of the city the older neighborhoods like Centro historico and the surrounding in colonas are much more affordable you'll have a nice sense of community among neighbors and you'll be closer to markets restaurants and corner stores however these neighborhoods can also be noisy and the houses are older the golden zone or son is more upscale meaning rent prices are usually higher but it's also the quietest part of town it's also safer and you have a ton of amenities nearby to give you an idea it's safe to say that the average cost of living in masland for two people assuming some of the other utility averages we have given you around in this video is going to be around 26,000 Pils a month now you can add 10,000 Pils a month for shopping going out medical emergencies those kinds of things and you can expect your total monthly budget to be somewhere around 36,000 pesel a month for a twers household some other things to consider about masaan are that the Driving Experience here is a bit hostile and the roads need a lot of Maintenance m public transport system is reliable and affordable so this is one of those cities where I think a car is not necessary another thing to note is that the sea in maslan can be treacherous so it's advisable to avoid swimming if you ever see a red flag on the beach the city also hosts several cultural festivals and artistic events it's a great place to move to if you have younger children and need a lot of activities for them to do there are several sports clubs golf courses and a Marina in town so really maslan has a little bit of it all and voted the number one beach to live in Mexico is drum roll please Puerto vayera an all-time favorite for people of all ages and backgrounds people love living in Puerto vayera for several reasons but the main one is its stunning natural beauty which features beautiful beaches Lush jungles and a breath taking coastl foreigners from the United States and Canada have been moving here for decades it used to be mostly for retirees but this has been changing in the few recent years and now you see more and more young families calling the city home the local community is very used to mingling with International people it's also greatly developed in terms of urban infrastructure it's not super big and super crowded so that gives it a lot of points however the international influence has brought a lot of service providers new businesses and well-known franchises that will make you avoid having to travel to other cities in order to get things from back home py as many people call it is usually considered an expensive city and while there is some truth to that if you do proper research and get familiar with the fair market prices you can find some comfortable and budget friendly rentals and places to do your shopping or eating out now viera's real estate value has increased quite significantly and nowadays it's very common to see property listed in US Dollars rather than in pesos even though technically that isn't legal ultimately I would say that a couple can live comfortably in Puerto vayera on 55,000 pesos or about $3,000 us a month with a 55,000 peso budget a month you can expect to rent a nice apartment eat out more than once a week buy imported products from time to time have a sports club membership a house cleaner once a week in other words a very comfortable life another big plus is that you don't need a car would be nice to have one if you're an avid Explorer and don't want to depend on buses or private drivers or taxis or you want to go explore the other beaches but if you're wanting to stay inside of Puerto Viera you don't need a car at all I love that it is very walkable and despite the tropical weather the heat is somehow more bearable than other beach towns that I've been to in Mexico it's still a hot City but it feels less oppressive because of the surrounding jungles however there is one downside to PB and that is its Hills if you have knee issues or Mobility problems this might not be the best city that I would recommend for you especially if you plan to do a lot of walking or don't plan to have your own car the beauty of Puerto AA is how they build straight into the mountains but that also means very steep sidewalks a lot of stairs and uneven roads what you'll love about ptoa is how fun it is and I also love that you don't need to spend a lot of money to have fun the Malon and the downtown area have streets that are always Lively full of people there's always something going on some kind of performance or music people dancing artists and selling their craft it's truly a great a great place to be it's always very Lively night life is always great you have the basic plethora of places to go like bars restaurants Cantinas nightclubs but this is also a place that values art and culture so there are several theaters shows concerts and festivals available throughout the year now some other things you might want to consider that is the most LGBT friendly City in all of Mexico I would say even probably even more than Mexico City Medical Services in Puerto aera are first class so much so that there's been a boom of medical tourism in the city there's also an international airport that offers direct flights to several cities in the United States and Canada as well as a bus station that connects you to major cities in the area like guadara I do believe aera has earned the top spot on the list based on what it off offers and how flexible it is with the foreign Community it's an easy place to move in since you'll have a big and diverse xack community in which you can find guidance as well as friendly locals who are always welcoming even though we did receive a lot of requests for more cities than what's on this list these were by far the most requested so thank you all for voting this is just an overview of each City so if you want to learn more in depth about any
