how to replace a thermostat Oh what do you got a 2009 Chevy Aveo 2009 Chevy Aveo [Music] this also addresses the p0 128 and p21 81 trouble codes for the cooling system and thermostat performance on your car the thermostat there we go it's right here it actually yeah I know it does look the same I don't normally see thermostats so complete usually it's just this piece right here you have to pull this plate off and put it in but this one let's not say has a component mixed in with it well this is different than most of cars that I've worked on because it's a digital thermostat well on top of that the RPM fluctuates a lot when it's cold and I'm pretty sure it's because it knows that is up first step here is remove both of these and drain the radiator then you remove both of these pull this off put the new one on and then put it back together and then refill the coolant and yay say yay all right I'll go ahead and start by falling off those two this is a screwdriver to do that I say dude yes for this one got a push and right here kind of push down a little push in I hear to click and then it should just pop off for this one okay screwdriver was actually correct gently measures out as far as it can go yep push until unless feels like it released kind of remember to put the tools back in the box before you grab new ones take a look so for this one you pop it out then I push down and it pops up so when it's pushed in it's locked when pulled out you can push on it and pull it out you've got them both out and we'll stick them over here and keep them out of the way [Music] next is to release the holds and Blair's this since we've already drained it yeah let's get some plastic so it doesn't have an idea put that one back please that once a few old clothes remover but you're gonna have some coolant on your head all right well that's what I'm saying like a kid like a plastic bag [Music] [Applause] [Music] sorry this just in an effort to make sure it lands directly into the pan or at least directly not on to the other stuff much as possible okay works extremely well yeah I'd like so much work zoom in zoom out zoom in zoom out that's stupid to stay in the world okay so these are reverse Torx bits I don't know the actual name for my hand but what they are is the opposite of a Torx bit there like a Torx nut these ones are pointy like the bolts down here they are pointy you can use a regular too far you can use a regular ratchet for these although you shouldn't but in a pinch it does work let me only put these on here so that you can't fix your own car they got on here they got them over here but they don't have them most everywhere else so take two let's see if this works of course it does because we already know well let's go ahead and get a 3/8 drive ratchet nice good job buddy can you get the the tires again take it the tires where's the oh yeah there's wow you're helping uncle huh good job you have an extension yes that is some nasty on your hair there MA there was that thank you these these little things are like digging in my hands you know oh I just pulled this right here what the hell this is just a 180 degree hose connector why don't they just use a longer frickin hose what a bunch of yeah can you put one of those away please ah oh you got it stuck we got it stuck there you go you put this one back we were just beyond the brain works was better be okay would be a durian helps you be less of a food or hey let's check this out smell it there's still stuff in there gross sipping a/c check that out come on I liked it this one down okay I don't want to spill it they're actually identical parts yeah that does not always happen you know no one has the name brand on it it's the only different we're replacing the or fix in the car and completely upgrading it piece by piece yeah right [Applause] [Music] first we didn't have to go forward to that there Matt clicks in the place and that clicked into place boom [Music] and this is premixed cool it here it doesn't actually go to the top keep it about an inch on the top and now the trick you can do is squeeze out the air bubble and let go to suck in more fluid alright don't mess with that fill up a little bit extra because you got to get the air bubbles out of the system right yes okay well let us go up there bub for a little while here we've let the system bleed it appears to be good that is how to replace a thermostat well you got a 2009 Chevy Aveo 2009 Chevy Aveo if you liked this video go ahead and leave a like down below click that way you see the camera point to the camera say if you liked this video they like this video share the video and subscribe and check out Joe's channel what's your channel the insight snoop but the insides are there anyways okay you doesn't matter the inside snoop I'll leave a link down in the description check it out he's got some more car videos get one down there see down in description good job you [Music]
