Throughout the entirety of 2b2t, there have  been many unknown groups. Many of their stories,   conflicts, and friendships  - lost forever. However,   with the rise of 2b2t’s popularity,  preservation of ancient bases,   and recollections from old players, some of  these unknown groups can be brought to light   and their stories can finally be told. Today in  this video, I will share THREE unknown groups   that share ONE thing in common and how their  existence played a key part in 2b2t's history. The first unknown group is ‘The Brotherhood  of Diamonds’. This Brotherhood is one of the   oldest 2b2t groups, with early issues of  THEJudgeHolden's comic describing them.   The Brotherhood existed from late 2011 to the  middle of 2012. Their story is barely documented,   and the only information available comes from  a few sign logs they wrote on their walls... The story begins in late 2011. A  player named Urue_101 was looking   for anarchy-enabled Minecraft servers because he  wanted something more challenging to build in,   but most of the servers had some set  of regulations and safe zones. After   finding a 4chan post about 2b2t, Urue made  his way onto the server. As he spawned in,   he was encircled by a hellscape. The  entirety of spawn was covered in mobs. TNT   had blown up the ground to such an extent that  only four paths led out of spawn. On each path,   there were aggressive players and mobs blocking  the way. Parkour was essential and it took Urue   three respawns to get beyond the aggressive  players and make his way towards the unknown. As Urue traveled further from spawn, he  saw his first tree. As he got closer,   he saw a base that looked active and had a lot  of supplies. He needed food and items to survive,   so he sneakily cut down a tree and took food from  their farms. After walking a few thousand blocks   from spawn, Urue found an abandoned base inside a  mountain. It wasn’t vandalized too badly, but it   was looted. A row of signs made by a player named  Caveman was discovered, but the words he wrote are   long forgotten. It seemed like no one had plans  to come back, so Urue made this base his new home. About two weeks later, Urue would talk  to his friends on their mumble server.   He would tell them about 2b2t, how there  were no rules, and how unique it was.   His friends MasterV and Flamereaper666 were the  first to join. While they made their way to the   base, Urue had to save them from starvation.  As the group entered the door to the base,   they began to build a wheat farm. Because  of the bounty of wheat they had made,   the group would name this base Bounty Mountain  (also named ‘The Vault’). Flamereaper666   accidentally destroyed part of “Caveman’s”  log during construction. In memory of Caveman   and the base he made, MasterV created a  room for the group to store future logs. The next day, Flamereaper666 informs the group  that someone looted them the night before,   but only took a little amount of their  belongings. Urue went to reset his bed   just to make sure the player  couldn’t respawn at the base,   but as he was about to, he stepped on a  TNT pressure plate trap. Urue barely got   out of the room when the TNT ignited. Whoever  created this trap wanted the group to leave.   Urue and MasterV spent the day disguising the  base by tearing down the exterior mountain wall's   steps, hiding their door with dirt blocks, and  removing torches from the top of the mountain. The group knew this base would eventually be  destroyed, so they made plans to create a new   base farther from spawn. However, they needed more  players to accomplish this. They invited their   friend sleeprocket to join them and the group  would start their journey. Urue would stay at   Bounty Mountain to keep expanding their farms.  Along the group's journey, MasterV eventually   finds multiple abandoned bases, but gets blown  up by a creeper and loses all of his items. The   group would then meet at Bounty Mountain to gear  themselves with diamond armor and call it a day. Outside 2b2t, MasterV and Urue had big  plans. They came up with the idea of   terraforming spawn to improve the server. Their  goal was simple: provide new players with food,   housing, and protection. On a chalkboard,  they drew a 10,000 by 10,000 spawn region.   MasterV mentions that around 2,000 blocks from  spawn, there was an abandoned tower that they   could take control of. They would call it  ‘The Trade Tower’, their first outpost,   and quickly filled their ranks with  allies and friends from other servers. During this time, their base inside Bounty  Mountain expanded, as did the golden fields   and the network of mining tunnels beneath.  Supply groups traveled to spawn with the hopes   of distributing supplies. It was then that  the group encountered their first foes.   Raiders, without a sense of right and wrong, and  without morals, devastated spawn mercilessly.   The Brotherhood now had a new objective:  protect the weak and eliminate the raiders. MasterV and Urue would then visit Changels, a  player in the server's south region who had a   safe base and told them to visit. MasterV and Urue  believed something wasn't quite right, but when   they arrived, they discovered a nice above-ground  base with crops. After spending some time there,   MasterV and Urue_101 return to Bounty Mountain  through the Nether, but Urue would fall into lava   and barely manage to get out. He would shortly  burn to death, so MasterV would gather his stuff.   While MasterV was on his way to Bounty Mountain,  he was attacked by the, at the time, famous Nether   killer LovesTwoSplodge. MasterV almost died,  but got lucky and turned the battle around   in his favor by pushing Splodge into the lava and  escaping. After that, MasterV would decide that   the group needed a name, and since he was a fan  of the game Fallout: New Vegas, he would name the   group ‘The Brotherhood of Diamonds’ as a reference  to ‘The Brotherhood of Steel' in the game. The next day, the group had big plans for the  future of this Brotherhood by creating new rules   and improving Bounty Mountain.  Urue would then spend the day   exploring the local area with MasterV and  they would find nether portals and a few   abandoned bases. Nothing much would happen the  following day, but MasterV would add his friends   Arkandy and Mestari to the Brotherhood.  They would live at the trading post   2,000 blocks from spawn. Not much else  happened and things were getting slower… On the next day, the Brotherhood is  called to assist a base against the Dutch,   A.K.A. The Vikings. It was a player named xcc2  who owned this base near spawn. When the group   got there, the front tower of the base had  lava on it, but it was otherwise well-defended.   Urue felt that something was familiar about this  base and then realized that this was the base   that helped him gather resources and food when he  first started. The Dutch claimed to have an ally   grinding gunpowder so that TNT could be used  to demolish the base, but no one knew who this   mysterious group was. As things settled down, The  Brotherhood of Diamonds returned to their base,   but before they did, xcc2 rewarded them  with 10 level two splash potions of harm   as a token of his gratitude. With only two of  these potions could kill anyone on the server. And that's the end of the logs. Both MasterV and  Urue's memories of what transpired next are hazy,   but Urue recalls that they used the potions  against hackers at spawn roughly two weeks   later. They were eventually able to terraform  spawn, however for only a few moments. But they   were successful in assisting a large number  of new players to escape spawn and prosper   on the server. The Brotherhood of Diamonds would  experience a number of base losses, including   Bounty Mountain and following bases built further  and further away from spawn. This became one of   the major factors in the group's gradual decline,  and the Brotherhood eventually disbanded. The next unknown group is Pylland.  They would have a massive grief war   that would ultimately affect a very well-known  base. Their story was lost in time as the players   who were involved had lost interest in the  server. However, with the leader of the group   coming back to 2b2t recently, I was able to  contact him and tell the story of Pylland. The Story begins in the summer of 2011. The  players Arthur_McGuire, Poerisija, Vaquera,   and Flencer had their own private Minecraft  SMP that had around a dozen players and they   would play on it occasionally. The name of their  group was ‘Pylland’, which is a Finnish butt joke.   Eventually, Poerisija found 2b2t through some  forums. He would tell Arthur_McGuire and instantly   was intrigued. The group would gather a few  real-life friends from the SMP and then join 2b2t. Their first base was a well-hidden underwater  base near spawn. They would start to gather   resources and slowly get richer. During one of  the group's scouts, they came across a base.   The base had a cobblestone castle  that was surrounded by trees   and other structures. They didn’t know who  created it or what the name of the base was,   but they saw a player named Alex walking  around, so they referred to it as,   ‘Alex’s Castle’. If they were able to get enough  materials, they would be able to trash the place. With the plan to raid Alex’s Castle, the group  would start to build their first mob grinder and   scout the castle daily. Arthur_McGuire would  use Vaquera’s account to spy on the castle   or get food from the players at the  base. In order to grief Alex’s Castle,   the group needed the supplies for TNT.  A mob grinder would allow them to gather   gunpowder, so Arthur_McGuire would start  construction of the mob grinder. Things   were going really well as players AFk’d the  mob grinder and gathered supplies for TNT,   but before the mob grinder was fully finished,  someone had already griefed Alex’s Castle. The   group was disappointed but didn’t give  up as there were other bases to find. However, something was different about this  base. They would start to notice that Alex’s   Castle would be repaired again and again, grief  after grief. They would also notice the shoddy   nature of the griefs. Most of the time it was  just someone pouring lava or water over the base,   removing all the torches, or detonating  some pieces of TNT around. The Pylland   team were not impressed and had standards.  They wanted to grief this base properly. Another obstacle would come in Pylland’s way.  After a few days of their base being made,   it was griefed unexpectedly. Most of the group  got fed up and left, but Arthur_McGuire and his   friends continued. For their next base, their  main focus was to gather supplies to grief   Alex’s Castle. In order for their next base to not  get griefed, they would need to find a location   that would be able to hold a massive mob grinder  that would not gain attention. The group would   split up and search for a location. After  traveling a few thousand blocks from spawn,   Arthur_McGuire came upon a desert that had a  hill. For a number of reasons, this was the ideal   location. It could get a ton of sand if needed,  it didn't attract attention from other players,   and the desert hill could hide a huge mob  grinder from the eyes of vanilla players. Construction of the mob grinder would commence.  It was a simple square room with cross-shaped   water streams. The mobs would fall into the  water stream and die from lava at the bottom.   An AFK spot was made nearby since, at the time,  hoppers were not a thing in Minecraft so a player   would have to just be near it to collect the  mob drops. When the mob grinder was ready,   Arthur_McGuire grinded for a  few days and went for a test run   to see how much TNT they would need to  blow up the entirety of Alex’s Castle. For the first attempt, the group would  bring two and a half inventories of TNT.   However, this wasn’t enough as they  could only blow up the main castle   and one of the towers. For  that first batch of TNT,   the group had to use manual labor to shovel all  of the sand, but soon after the first attempt,   one of the players in the group found out about  the piston dupe. This dupe would allow them to   duplicate sand quickly and made it easy to grind  several inventories of TNT in a matter of days. After a few days of the first attempt, NFE was  rebuilt, but the Pylland group had a ton of new   explosives. For their second attempt, they would  bring four inventories. At the time, there were no   shulker boxes or even ender chests, so the group  had to carry all of the TNT in their inventories.   Every player had only a sword, some food, flint  and steel, and as much TNT they could fit in their   inventory. It was a really risky situation, but at  the same time it was fun to carry the TNT as the   “enemy” could at any moment login and kill them  or one single hacker could undo many days of work. Their second attempt was a success. They were  able to completely destroy Alex’s castle and   the surrounding structures. When xcc2, the  owner of Alex’s Castle, or also known as NFE,   returned later to the base, he was faced with  complete destruction. The castle was completely   demolished, and all that was left was a massive  hole. The Pylland crew told him that they were   the ones who created the mess. With nothing left  at NFE for xcc2, he eventually left and joined   a new base with a player named passie05.  After a few days, the Pylland team would   venture around the greater spawn region to  find new targets, but at that point, nobody   built anything to the scale of NFE near spawn.  Arthur_McGuire found a couple of intact builds,   but they were deserted, and to him griefing  loses its meaning if there are no victims around. Eventually, NFE was rebuilt. The various friends  of NFE that xcc2 met over the years would keep   the base living on. After each grief, Xcc2 would  spend months defending and rebuilding the base,   typically none as badly created by the Pyyland  team, but they would ultimately discover that NFE   had been repaired and grief it once more. Pylland  would grief NFE another three times until one day   when speaking with a player named policemike55,  he mentioned that they must be grinding gunpowder   somewhere nearby. On that day, policemike55  found the grinder and the players from Pylland   AFK while the mob grinder collected gunpowder.  Xcc2 met policemike55 there, slayed them all,   and blew up their grinder, stopping  them from their final grief of NFE. The grief war had come to an end. In the  beginning, Arthur_McGuire decided that he would   continue until either the players at NFE stopped  rebuilding or his mob grinder was found. Either   way, it was time to move on. Arthur_McGuire  would explore the server for a while, but   2b2t would start having long server downtime and  thought it would never come back online. In 2015,   Arthur_McGuire heard that the server was still  online. He would return, travel through the Nether   highways, found some bases, and started  to build a new mob grinder. His friends   didn’t have time or interest to join again, so  Arthur_McGuire eventually lost interest as well. When Arthur_McGuire returned to Minecraft in  2020, he saw that 2b2t had grown in popularity.   He watched all of the 2b2t history  videos and read THEJudgeHolden's comic   before returning to the server in August of  2021. After speaking with xcc2 and Arthur   McGuire about the griefs, they both agree  that they have no malicious rivalry. They   were simply having a good time in 2b2t's chaotic  setting and have no resentment for what happened. Now, the last unknown group on 2b2t.  This group was known to many old players,   but their story has rarely been talked about.  Their story is unique, to say the least,   and what they were trying to achieve was seen as  impossible. This is the story of Team UberSlugCake   and how DEDICATION, MOTIVATION, and ACCELERATION  made their impossible situation into a reality... UBERSLUGCAKE joined 2b2t in late 2013. As  he observed all of the destroyed landscape   surrounding him, he was filled with disgust.  “How could anyone let the spawn fall into   such disrepair?” he wondered. He shook his  head and realized he needed to take action.   He escaped spawn and founded the first Uber base.  At this base, UBERSLUGCAKE established the mantra:   DEDICATION, MOTIVATION, ACCELERATION, and gathered  new players from spawn to join his following.   As the group grew, UBERSLUGCAKE’s  trust of the new recruits grew as well.   They were a formidable crew  and could not be stopped. UBERSLUGCAKE only recruited new players who  shared his ambition of restoring spawn to its   former glory. He had heard when the server  first started that mostly everyone on 2b2t   lived in one huge peaceful community at spawn,  and he wished for it to return to its glory days.   With this, UBERSLUGCAKE sent his  recruits to create their own uber bases. UBERSLUGCAKE packed his bags and traveled  down the nether highway to create the most   permanent of uber bases. He understood that  he needed to build a strong, solid base   in the high coordinate region so that his team  could restore spawn. UBERSLUGCAKE traveled far   into the center of 2b2t, not knowing what  to expect, while his men gathered supplies   at the uber bases near spawn  in preparation for the rebuild. After a long journey, UBERSLUGCAKE had  finally arrived at the coordinates he   thought were acceptable. This base would serve  as the central hub for all uber bases on 2b2t   and it would house all of the power. UBERSLUGCAKE  had to construct it with purpose and pride. As the   group prepared for the rebuild, his recruits  were filled with DEDICATION, MOTIVATION,   and ACCELERATION. There would be players  who would defy them, but the group knew they   would prevail. No one on the server could  believe what they were about to achieve,   but that didn't matter to UBERSLUGCAKE since the  group had each other and knew they would succeed. The group rebuilt for months on end,  destroying lava casts and creating   melon farms. They repaired spawn as best they  could for as long as they could, but little did   they know that their rebuild was about to  end a lot sooner than what they had hoped. UBERSLUGCAKE became increasingly concerned  as April 2016 approached. On the server,   things were no longer adding up. To him,  it seemed that the spirit of Hausemaster,   the owner of 2b2t, as the server knew him left  completely. UBERSLUGCAKE began consulting with   old players and had discovered a horrible secret.  The server had been backdoored. UBERSLUGCAKE knew   he had to do something to stop this - it  was the Team UBERSLUGCAKE way - but all   of their uber bases had been destroyed and  were no longer there before he realized it.   While the group was sleeping, the backdoor  crew discovered and destroyed all of their   uber bases using coordinate exploits. Team  UBERSLUGCAKE had nowhere else to turn,   so they had no choice but to abandon  2b2t forever, hoping that one day,   someone would beat the backdoor crew and allow  them to return to their beloved home in peace. All of these groups share one thing in  common: They all had a goal and they were   able to achieve it in their own unique way.  The Brotherhood of Diamonds was able to help   many players escape spawn and help other  groups defend their bases, Pylland were   able to achieve their goal of destroying NFE,  and Team UBERSLUGCAKE was able to repair spawn.   Their determination to thrive on a server  where everything is stacked against them   is inspiring and many players can learn  from their example. If there is one thing   to learn from this video, it’s that with hard  work and dedication, anything is possible.
