can't believe somebody stood franca really now their breathe it's been quiet all day all day this week while somebody's decided to start driving and you're gonna start not gonna stop the green screen is a powerful tool in the arsenal of any videographer YouTube or twitch streamer the question is what's the difference between the two ends of the price spectrum is it really worth paying extra and what do you get from it now there's lots of reasons why people would use a green screen me for example allows me to add an interesting element to each of my videos I can kind of change the background depending on the topic of the video the lens on this camera isn't great for him so impulsive if I want is that nice blurred out background effect it's nice and easy to do in post and I guess the main reason is I never have to clean my flap look at this it's beautiful however when it comes to green screens a big part of it is convenient storage space and ease of use for example allow me to break the barrier here for one second if I may compared to what you were seeing before this is where we actually were it doesn't look as great recently with the growing popularity of twitch streaming it's important to have a tool like this easily accessible easy to sell behind you and easy to store where is this one for example is a pop-up one and it's on the lower end of the price range this thing was about 29 pounds what we're going to compare it to today is this the pop-out green screen by L guess of it not a sponsored video but I'm always open to it so to split its to one side quickly and first let's talk about the lower end of the spectrum so for 29 pounds that the lower end of the spectrum the fold-out pop-up screen actually comes and stays stored in a bag about the size of a car tire really this much by a company called photo are pretty sure I got it off Amazon if I can find it I'll link it in the description down below in terms of the material or green screens are much of a muchness I imagine the material used on this will be no different to what's used me or Gaston and pop-up screen now if green screens the important thing is actually the light distribution across it you don't want some areas darker than others because when you go to fill in the image later in post you're gonna get a very unbalanced and spotty kind of image so some of the drawbacks to this cheaper option as we already mentioned the storage size is somewhere around this if you've got somewhere to put it great I put mine down the side to the sofa if that's gonna be a struggle for you well I guess a giant el gesso box wouldn't be much better either as you can see to get mine in the correct position I X pertly prop it up on to dining room chairs however the drawback we get with that is positioning in the room I absolutely have to do it up against this wall because it's the only thing that's good I support the top and stop it from just sliding over that kind of Tevez me to this wall where you'll notice if I wanted to do something like twitch streaming there's no computer here that's over there if I was to try and move this away from the wall you'll notice one of two things one it starts slanting at this weird angle because there's no water evenly support the weight with it's slanting to one side the light distribution will be completely wrong and the effect will look terrible number two I'm currently holding this where as if I were to let go there's nothing to support it and I last thing is set up time how long does it actually take me to get this thing from its folded state into a position where I'm ready to record let's find out so that's everything on the lower end of the spectrum of C if you're just starting out and you're looking to get into it it's a great place to start it's nice and cheap it doesn't take up loads of room well let's talk about the other end of the spectrum slightly more expensive you're professionals you twitch streamers the people who need to be ready to record in a moment instance obviously I've only just received the alghero screen today so let's unbox it together and find out what the difference is so we did a setting up video of the new cloud gaming PC cell a little while ago I'll post a link to up here but this is the main reason for our upgrade as I said this is on completely the other side of the room and even a green screen to go behind me essentially there's nothing to support that flimsy one so we've upgraded to the old gasser one this way I'll be able to record videos from here using the monitor for notes websites wherever I'm looking out I'll be out to twitch stream from here and won't beat over to this side of the room with just a laptop on my lap but this box is so big that we're gonna need to find a better angle so you can actually see the unboxing because otherwise it's just my face that's not why you're here [Music] whoops so the case there comes in who's this very nice brush black aluminum kind of looks like a big pool cue underneath there's just two legs which fold in when you're storing it but fold out so it can support the green-screen when it's extended simply unlocked by two hinges on the front and then using the handle on top to pull upwards to fully extend the screen [Music] so for anyone interested in the dimensions of the old ghetto green screen is 148 centimeters wide by 180 centimeters high when it's extended and when it's in the box it's actually just over ten centimeters tall and much like we did with the fold outer screen let's just quickly time how long it takes to set this one up and go it did we start it with you timing so that's the difference between these two options a quick mention to some of the alternatives obviously these are great for personal recording if it's just one person in a shot if it is more for videography some of your alternatives some of the larger fabric screens which are held up by actual metal frames or if you have the space to spare and don't mind the color one of the options is actually just to paint one of your walls this kind of chroma key color so hopefully you found this video useful for all of the green screens I
