[Music] foreign [Music] if you're trying to plan a trip to Ecuador but not really sure where to start you're in the right place I am so sad that this is my last video about this amazing country I have an entire playlist on here dedicated specifically to Ecuador that's completely separate from my South American playlist so as I'm going through this two-week Ecuador itinerary with you I'll keep it very general you know give you a little bit of information on each place but if you really want to Deep dive into that specific City or place in Ecuador you can click on the video that I'll link while I'm talking about it and get into more specific info so let's go ahead and dive in days one and three are gonna be in keep though because most likely this is where you're going to be flying into since it's the capital and has the largest airport in the country keto is about 45 minutes to one hour away from the airport so when you arrive and get through customs you can book an Uber and go from there the ride into Quito itself is seriously magical you see all these Rolling Green Hills and colorful houses on the hills and probably right away you'll start to feel that altitude so make sure to stay hydrated did not push yourself too hard or you really will feel the altitude sickness which can really impact the rest of your trip your three days in keto will be split into three different parts of the city day one you'll start off with the old town to see all the mean touristy spots you know Central Market Independence Square the Basilica laronda street so so much more day two you'll head up to the center of the world and visit the Pulu Aqua geo-botanical Reserve which is an active volcanic crater that people actually live in and farm then you'll head to Mata del mundo which is at zero degrees latitude and zero degrees longitude AKA you really are in the center of the world and on day three you'll do the teleforico cable car up to pinchicha volcano where you get amazing views of that volcano seven other volcanoes in the distance and all of Keto down below then you'll spend the rest of the day in law Carolina Park which is quito's version of like New York Central Park and you'll stay around that area for some shopping eating you know just hanging out to end the day if you want a more in-depth itinerary check out my full three-day day by day keto itinerary video here for days four and five you'll head over to mindo which is about an hour hour and a half bus ride from Quito mindo is a cloud forest which is very very similar to a rainforest except it's at a much higher elevation it's super super lush green everywhere you look all you hear are birds chirping all around you it's seriously the perfect escape from the big city I highly recommend staying in cinnamon house because it's right in the main town so you can kind of walk everywhere but it is tucked away in the back like off a little Alleyway so you feel like you're in an isolated jungle Lodge so you really get the best of both worlds there once you check in you can take a six dollar taxi to the terabiner where you'll take this cable car that's actually powered by an old 2002 Nissan Motor all the way over the valley you'll have amazing views the entire way then once you get to the other side you'll hike around to some waterfalls and later in the night you can do a cloud forest night walk to see some of the nocturnal animals and learn more about them on day two you can enjoy the town go shopping for souvenirs eat some street food seriously I spent like two hours trying every single food item from all of the cards that were parked in for to the main part there and they were all insane especially the Empanada lady on the corner if she is there you have to visit I don't know what she does differently to her empanadas but they are seriously the best empanadas I've ever had in my life I'd fly back today just to get a taste of those empanadas again I highly highly recommend I also recommend doing a chocolate farm tour which you can do just from walking from the downtown to a place called el quetzal it's right there in the city tour start every 20 minutes or so if you want more info on the chocolate tour and all the other activities that I did in my two days in mindo check out this video now moving on to days six and eight where you'll be doing The Secret Garden Cotopaxi experience so from Mendo you'll need to take the bus back to Quito and head to Secret Garden Quito in the downtown area the bus leaves every morning at 10 A.M and that's the only one of the day so make sure that you're on that bus this is the transportation that is actually included when you book the three day two night Secret Garden experience essentially these next three days you'll you'll be living off the grid there's no service there's no Wi-fi no other their buildings in sight you'll be on this little secluded compound all you can see around your wild horses llamas Green Fields mountains volcanoes it is seriously the perfect place to unplug and unwind included in your experience you'll get Transportation accommodation all of your meals and two hiking excursions to a nearby waterfall and to pass it show up then you can add the Excursion of hiking coat of Foxy volcano because it really is the best Excursion they offer and that's why you're going to Cotopaxi anyway so I highly highly recommend adding that on this all-inclusive experience was definitely my favorite experience in all of Ecuador just because you know it was so beautiful I met so many awesome Backpackers since there was no Wi-Fi or service we would just stay up all night in the main house playing card games chatting by the fire nobody's on their phone and it was so awesome and of course the excursions were super fun too I really just genuinely can't recommend this experience enough you absolutely have to do this experience versus just going and visiting the Cotopaxi volcano for one day and then leaving in My Secret Garden Cotopaxi video you'll see exactly what the accommodations in the food are like like what the day by day schedule is like if you do the three day two night and I'll go into detail about the different pricing options so make sure to watch that video fully to understand how this all-inclusive experience kind of works from here you can pay the secret garden shuttle to take you to banyos for days 9 and 11. banyos is the adventure capital of Ecuador and it's the gateway to the Amazon rainforest so your three days can be sent doing so many things like adrenaline activities we opted to do white water rafting which was so awesome I highly recommend but you also have so many other adrenaline activities to choose from if that's not really your thing it's also super popular to bike the waterfall route to go see some waterfalls nearby heading up to the tree house to go to the swing at the end of the world which I'm sure you've seen lots and lots of pictures of and most importantly heading to one of the many hot springs nearby bonus's full name is actually Banos de aguasanta which translates to bats of holy water and the locals really believe that the Waters of Banos have healing powers my boyfriend's grandma is actually born and raised in the south of Ecuador and when we told her we were going to Banos the first thing she said was you have to take a bath in the healing water so you know it's definitely a must see for locals and for foreigners for more information on all these different activities and baños in general check out this in-depth video and lastly for Days 12 through 14 you'll head down south to Cuenca so day 12 is pretty much going to be eating up by driving since it'll probably take about eight hours on the bus but once you get there you will just be in awe and know that it was absolutely worth that bus Journey Cuenca is genuinely the most beautiful city in Ecuador and I might even argue that it's the most beautiful city in South America but cuanka is definitely a relaxing time to kind of end your trip there's not a whole lot of crazy activities that you absolutely have to do it's more about just you know enjoying the city walking around seeing what it has to offer and just discovering little things here and there it also has an amazing culinary scene and great lunch specials everywhere you go so you can really eat your way through the city I know that's what I did when I was there so if you want more info on the top things to do in Cuenca just to make the most of your time there check out this video now this itiner I gave you lets you see all the main highlights of Mainland Ecuador the only two places some others might add to their itinerary would be atavalo if you really love markets you know nearly all cities have their own markets which is why I opted to skip the city since that's like the main thing to see is the market but supposedly it's the best Market in all of Ecuador so if that interests you definitely try to squeeze that into your itinerary and the other thing is the quilitola loop I opted to skip this which some people might think is crazy since everybody recommends it on their itineraries but I had a few friends tell me it was overly hyped and I really really wanted to see Cuenca so I chose that instead but you know I did meet Backpackers on the road who absolutely loved it so the choice is really yours just do your research and kind of see what suits you best but again I would emphasize that Cuenca is seriously the most beautiful city in Ecuador it was my favorite spot in Ecuador so I really don't think you can skip it if you're choosing between that and something else and if you want to go to the Galapagos you're looking at adding on another week not to mention all of the coastal cities in Ecuador like montanita and you could even add another weekday to head deep into the Amazon rainforest of Coca and stay in the jungle lodges you know see some pink dolphins some monkeys Birds piranhas you name it so you know even though Ecuador is a very small country in South America there is so much to do I'm already planning a trip to go back specifically just to do the Galapagos and the Amazon rainforest and I was there for six weeks so that tells you how much there really is to do so if you have any questions about planning your overall
