welcome back my name is Carrie and today I'm going to show you the top 10 prefab homes of the Year this is one of my favorite videos of the entire year to make because a lot happened over the last 12 months and it's definitely worth a recap after an evening deep diving my own material I made a list of must see again prefab homes and let me tell you you're in for a treat this year I made over a hundred videos on prefab homes and with that receive many heartfelt comments including but not limited to a guy looks like Alice from Brady Bunch I want to know how you generate the anti-gravity field around your hair and my personal favorite this is the oldest young dude I've ever seen what can I say they're all fairly accurate internet wins again if you're new to the channel or simply don't want to watch every other video strap on in because I'm about to go full Rick Campanelli on prefab homes what I'm going to do is show you the top 10 prefab homes of the Year let you know who builds them and where available I'll even let you know the price as the self-proclaimed unofficial official spokesperson for prefab homes the criteria for this list is as follows they're homes that I like the list starts off with a home I am very fond of both inside and out the scally Backcountry cuboid from loyal prefabs fun fact the name loyal comes from the people who started the company last name Loy found that out lurking on Instagram the backcountry cuboid is a one bedroom one bathroom two Loft eco-friendly micro dwelling that packs a lot into a small space at 424 square feet cloud and weathering steel the back country cuboid is what I like to call a statement and a bold one at that it was designed for all four seasons has floor-to-ceiling Windows and an open concept that takes advantage of every possible square inch this is a cool home that will turn heads so if you don't like cool stuff probably not for you the backcountry cuboid starts around 290 000 Canadian which is around 210 USD number nine is the cuatro from mighty buildings Mighty buildings is combining 3D printing Robotics and Material Science to make some slick units that don't look much like anything else available they aren't building the entire home inside the factory and delivering it to the site like most others on this list but rather delivering their Precision engineered kit system that's built in their automated Factory the panels arrive on site ready to install and can be assembled with fewer labor hours and crew the Quattro is a two-bedroom two-bathroom that's 1176 square feet with a layout I haven't seen anywhere else the way they set this home up is with the living room kitchen at one end which certainly isn't revolutionary but overall the plan has a lot going for it what I like about it is the amount of space designated to living versus bedrooms seems logical to me I don't need a huge amount of space in the bedroom most of the time I'm in there I'm looking at the back of my eyelids dreaming that people might tap the like button for the YouTube algorithm the Quattro has a listed four-month assembly and they're located in the San Francisco Bay Area number eight has one of the best Cottage looks out there and that's pretty much anything from drop structures drop structures is based out of Lethbridge Alberta but ships all over North America and apparently they sold a unit to Izzy Stevens from Gray's Anatomy if you know you know they've got a full line of prefabs that include both on and off-grid units but none with a more iconic look than the Hollow series The Standard Hollow is a dry unit with use cases listed as glamping weekend retreat or home office complete with a loft for whatever you might need a bit of space for then they have the hollow plus with a footprint of right around 240 square feet the Holo plus gives you everything you need including full running water a kitchenette and a bathroom they say it offers the basic amenities to let you focus on the beauty of your surroundings finally they have the hollow off grid a tad smaller than the hollow Plus at 200 square feet it's built as a foundation for your Backcountry dreams the kitchenette and bathroom area are designed to accept a wide array of off-grid amenities it has added insulation and the option to pre wire for solar the Holo Series has the look I think a lot of people are going for in a prefab home whether it's an Adu Cottage or office these things are the cat's meow the whole line ranges in price from 40 000 USD for the hollow up to starting price of ninety seven thousand five hundred for the hollow Plus number seven is live connected making shipping more efficient with their in-house developed click system on the Connexus home the Connexus marries High design and high function with rapid installation what I like about their system is they have their basic one bedroom model that has all the elements you need in a home but it can be added to as needed to create two and three bedroom models basically how this works is they have the core parts of the home that come fully assembled from the factory the core Parts include a bedroom component a bedroom bathroom component a kitchen component and finally a porch and component they're shipped with all the finishes fixtures plumbing and electrical installed they're joined together with the link pieces which fold down to ship within the core pieces to keep the load efficient it's a really cool system on site the pieces get put together by a general contractor if you don't have a general contractor it's noted on their website that they can supply one that they've certified it's a neat system and on top of that I like the look of what they've got going on the one bedroom connects this home from live connected starts at 1 hundred and fifty thousand dollars in the sixth spot I placed one of the cleanest looking prefab homes currently available and that's the ray from Manta North Manta North recently posted a photo of the Ray on Facebook and I had forgot just how much I liked the look of a manta North build it's got the Scandinavian design which looks sweet and the ability to price out the unit online so there's no guessing whether or not it's within budget you can find out instantly right online the Ray has four different floor plan options to choose from all with a footprint of 516 square feet the one I'm currently leading to is Plan D a one bedroom one bathroom with a layout that just makes sense they've got the look figured out on these homes interior or exterior there really isn't much I'd change at all actually I don't know if there's anything mental North has their headquarters in Sweden but builds out of a factory in Latvia and has production Partners in different locations when you first arrive at their website you choose between Germany Iceland North America Norway Sweden or Europe so I'm guessing those are the locations that they currently ship to the ray starts at two hundred and ten thousand dollars in the fifth spot is a home that was very well received in the comments when I first looked at it the tiny M from Tiny living bit of eye candy that absolutely needed to be on this list the tiny M has a footprint of 365 square feet in which you can include as much as you need to live in the space tiny living also has the ability to build out their homes right on their website and they do it by starting with a shell then you add whatever elements you want in the home seems like a logical way to get everything you need and nothing you don't if it were me I would go with the court and steel exterior Birch walls and throw in a kitchen bathroom and cabinets send it on over thanks in advance they have packages available to be fully self-sufficient including water tanks solar and septic so if you find somewhere tucked out in the middle of nowhere it's an option tiny is located in Spain but they do ship to both the United States and Canada it's noted that shipping costs are estimated to be around 15 to 20 000 Euros depending on the time of the year the tiny M starts at 54 500 Euros which is currently about 58 000 USD number four on the list of prefab homes is arguably the most famous Factory built home on the face of planet Earth right now the boxable Casita boxable gained an absolutely massive amount of attention with their 375 square foot home that ships Compact and folds out to 19 and a half by 19 and a half with nine foot six ceilings the beauty of that is it's less expensive than shipping a wide load and easier to move I think people were originally very interested in the fifty thousand dollar price tag then they gained a massive falling with an unconventional marketing strategy and the results a waitlist over 100 000 people since launching the company the cost to build has increased and the last figure I saw was sixty thousand dollars but I'm not a hundred percent on what it's currently at or where it'll be when you get yours the Casita is the first of many designs boxable plans to release it's a studio that was developed to fill the need for accessory dwelling units inexpensive markets like California boxable has been one of the most entertaining companies to watch and I don't think that's going to change because because they've got a huge vision for the company and a zero F's marketing approach to get attention and help them achieve said huge vision starting off the top three is one I just found a couple weeks ago and that's the summer house or muhu from Axel house Axel house has been in the prefab home industry since 2004 and has built multiple award-winning homes out of which the summer house is my favorite it's a 475 square foot one bedroom one bathroom home that has the cottage look on the outside complete with peaked roof wood siding and black trim the layout has the bedroom at the back of the home bathroom in the middle and kitchen living room up front with a ton of natural light coming in through large windows on every side on top of that they snuck a loft in up top to double the amount of sleeping if that's what you're looking for or could be used for really anything else you want I couldn't come up with a funny activity that you can do in the Loft Kimberly is going to be pissed Christmas is ruined something really fascinating that AXA house offers is foundations from the factory they actually pour them inside their Factory build the home on top and deliver two-site Foundation included they're located in Estonia and their summer house is currently priced starting at 99 990 Euros which is currently about 107 000 USD number two on the list is the Sonora from supermod Super mod is a Campbell river-based prefab home company building steel frame modulars raging in size from Adu to two-story home the Sonora is a 1070 square foot two bedroom two bathroom plus Den layout that I think will tick the boxes for a lot of people the way they designed this home they have all the living space on one side with the living room dining room kitchen and den then the other side they've got the bedrooms bathrooms and laundry room for me this would be a perfect layout I don't use a ton of space but it's got a little bit of walking around room so if there's more than a couple people living in it you aren't bumping into each other they put the den close to the kitchen if I'm working from home I don't have to walk far to microwave nachos it's perfect the Sonora starts at 280 000 Canadian which is currently around 205 000 USD the final home on this year's list of top 10 prefab homes is the many homes from devel devel is a california-based prefab home company with a Sustainable Building philosophy they want to deploy homes that have positive impact on the environment this year devel has been pumping out a run of many homes to fill an order for Camp Truckee and I'm a huge fan of how they look what they've got is a one bedroom one bathroom plus Loft and even though the ones they're building this year are for a glamping site at Lake Tahoe the uses for a home like this are plentiful they have a covered porch lots of natural light and open living room kitchen and stairs to The Loft outside just like most everything in their lineup their mini has the modern look dialed in and I like that I don't know if this is a custom build that will only be available for Camp Truckee but that doesn't change the fact that it's awesome and it needed to be on this year's list worst case scenario we all go to summer camp this was an unbelievable year in the prefab home industry I can't remember another year that even came close in the number of new companies new designs and Innovation that we saw this year if this year is any indication of what's in store for off-site construction I'm very excited about where we go from here next year I expect to see a lot of the companies finishing the prototypes and getting them to Market more Innovation and likely a lot more new companies because I honestly think this is just the beginning for this industry that's all I've got for today if you like manufactured home videos make sure to subscribe to my channel because I've got new ones coming out every single week thanks for watching see in the next one
