[Music] Razor Ramon has always been one of my favorite characters in the old WWF that intangible ed factor that many people talk about with in wrestling the thing you can't exactly describe but you know what when you see it I think Scott Hall had that the whole Razor Ramon character as a complete package really captured me as a kid the music the slow and calm walk to the ring the promos especially the hated promos Scott holds an R instead of making everything look believable Rizal Ramon now that I think of it it's probably one of my favorite wrestlers of all time I remember when things started going way downhill for Scott Hall and feeling so disappointed one of my favorites as a kid looking and acting the way he did but thankfully Scott's long road to recovery had brought some of that old spark back it's great to see the bad guy appear every now and then on WWE TV shows today's video then we'll look at the Razor Ramon character and how he fared during his early WWF days I know I created a Scott Hall video in the past but that one focused more on his life away from the ring and not enough on his accomplishments and matches within the squared circle also it's an early wrestling BIOS video and like the road warrior stuff I'm currently releasing I'd like to do the subject matter better justice with a proper career and much retrospective so sit back get ready to say hello to the bad guy once again as we look at Razor Ramon in the WWF SCOR call kim over to the WWF in 1993 after having a decent amount of success in the CWF mid-atlantic the AWA and World Championship Wrestling with around eight years experience already under his belt the 33 year old Hall was able to enter the World Wrestling Federation and make an impression on both fence McMahon and the fans of the top twf hole pitched the raiser character to Vince McMahon taking a ton of inspiration from the Scarface movie and applying them to his mother isms Vince McMahon and Pat Patterson had never seen Scarface before and Scott said that both man thought he was a genius whereas Scott knew he was just directly ripping off the famous crime movie nevertheless McMahon and Patterson loved Scotts Cuban character and it was they who came up with the name razor Scott asked Tito Santana for a Latino sounding the end that begins with R and Santana suggested Ramon and so this rep of character no I hadn't iam razor ramon wizard was introduced at the table WF via a bunch of introductory vignettes from razor cruising the streets and a white convertible car with leopard skin interior tormenting restaurant withers - hanging at the beach and we even watched this razor pastured the locals these were very entertaining and even today they are still loads of fun to watch he was introduced as a heel here obviously but it's that cool bad guy factor coming into play fans were sweat easily enough back then the blue Hanes and cheer faces no gray area to speak of really but had these RZA room vignettes aired around glee at 96 or 97 there's a good possibility that fans would have been cheering for him right out of the gate Reiser talked about how he had nothing growing up he told kids to stay out of school he took what he wanted it was all really good stuff and the perfect example of enter doctor even yet working well people couldn't we have to see the bad guy step into your ring right let's do what we always do and check out the first of the WUF notch we have a dart mat here on the 18th of May 1992 Razor Ramon defeats Chris hand we have no record of this much but Chris was the CM guy who had his Han set on fire by Papa Shango so thirst that I guess razor then worked with Jim powers jim bronzie el matadora and virgil before making his TV debut and a match against paul von dao before we get to that TV debut though the Tito Santana dark match has survived and it's actually available on the WWE Network under the hidden gem section razor here was still trying to work out his rain gear it seems but it's really cool that these kind of matches are added to the WWE Network where we can see debuting superstars as a work-in-progress going back the razors TV debut you'll notice razor actually had three matches here during these tapings against Tony Roy John Powers and van Dahl and the next day at the wrestling challenge tapings Whizzer had another two matches so the WWF here were stockpiling razors next series of TV matches the air at later dates you will also notice that razor on TV was destroying Enhancement guys manly and in quick time the first lot of razor ramon matches never went longer than three minutes but yeah if you want to see the TV debut of Razor Ramon then the Paul van dahl much from superstars as the one you're after I think it's fair to say that Vince McMahon knew he had a star on his hands very early on with Razor Ramon after making quick work of job guys on TV Reiser went on a high shoulder with the WWF where he defeated Randy Savage consistently while also getting referees over Jim Duggan and Brad Hart this is quite unheard of a newcomer beating Randy Savage in 1992 with in his first few months of being in the company this would actually continue for the best part of 1992 the majority of matches we have here on the house you loop features macho man putting Razor Ramon over night after night while razor caught TV victories over enhancement talent Rizzo did however take a loss in his WWF pay-per-view debut when he teamed up with Ric Flair to take on mr. perfect and Randy Savage the reserve worse is Macho Man Feud found its way on the TV when razor help direct Flair when the WWF Championship by attacking Savage on the outside and so the tag match was booked for the Survivor Series initially the Ultimate Warrior was supposed to team up with savage however warrior got fired and so he was replaced by mr. perfect razor and flair got disqualified during this match Ultimate Warrior was also apparently scheduled to work against Bret Hart at the 1993 Royal Rumble for the WWF Championship boy that would have been interesting judo warrior obviously not being around anymore however Razor Ramon was named as the replacement and razor would get a shot at the WWF Championship on the first pay-per-view of 1993 again this is another sign that things were going well for Ramon in the WWF he was getting big matches here in short time razor and rattles who worked extremely well together in the ring their mat here at the Royal Rumble hasn't talked about much these days but I do enjoy this much little down the line the two would meet again at the 1993 King of the Ring and this match was even better but I bet more on that later January of 1993 also saw the debut of Monday Night Raw and razor became one of the show's main towns during the early deaths razor had many big moments on the raw show during its debut year but again more on that later at the Royal Rumble here Riza was only able to capture the WWF Championship but he had a career match with the head man the crowd went nuts for the finish so mission accomplished it's all them that Razor Ramon was featured at the next pay-per-view WrestleMania and a match against Bob Backlund not to disrespect Backlund at all I know the WWF were trying to give him a small push back into the company here but razor had just came out of a roll Rumble title match and this WrestleMania match the first of Scott olds career seemed to miss the mark completely thankfully razor got the win the damage could have been way worse here also notable though is that fans cheered for Ramon at WrestleMania 9 even though he worked as a hey Vince McMahon must have noticed this as razors fierce turn would begin shortly after Mia so here's the one that everyone remembers and one of the batterer storylines razor was involved in during his doublet WUF tenure the May 17th episode of raw saw Rizzo remember all the kids Sean Waltman and the kid was working during this time as a sort of enhancement guy razor walk to the ring you're using machismo and using confidence and he smiled throughout the march as he tossed the kid from turnbuckle to turnbuckle laughing at the wig opposition put in front of him here the only bit of offense the kid Godin was a moonsault from the top rope and after nailing the move the kid actually got the pinfall win Whizzer was fuming he screamed at the commentators and caused the same why the kid couldn't believe he just got this huge one jumping for joy as here on backstage it was good stuff here the reactions from razor the kid and the fans in attendance method extra-special the following week on Raw razor came to the ring for an interview saying nobody beats Razor Ramon while the crowd began chanting one two three RZA offered the kid $2,500 to step back into the ring with the bad guy on the May 31st episode of Raw the cash offer went up to five grand the kid nah known as the 1-2-3 kid thanks to the fans chanting one two three at razors a week before refused the five grand prize and fear of what razor ramon could do to him and the ring the following week Rizzo picked the prize money of the seven and a half grand saying the match would happen on the very next episode of Raw before getting to that raw episode we have the King of the Ring 1993 - look at Brad versus Razor Ramon and the opening quarter finals match this one again was good and as mentioned earlier I think this one was better than their Royal Rumble 1993 encounter I'd recommend this one for sure if you want a great match from razors hail run Brad got to win by countering a back body drop from the top rope Brad would go on to win the whole tournament so on to the next episode of Raw razor came to the ring with a bag full of cash we now had a tan grand of per offer as the crowd chanted 123 razor said that the kid or the stick man as he called him could use the money to help his family and make life better for himself razor said he should come out do the right thing and accept the money finally on the June 21st episode of Raw the kid accepted the challenge the one two three had gotten loads of offense early on this time exciting the audience is everyone thought this young enhancement guy really had a chance in defeating the bad guy Whizzer got the upper hand though he began laying in some big offense 1-2-3 kid fought back though and things nearly went really bad when Waltman slipped off the top rope here and landed on the hard floor on the outside when 1-2-3 kid realized that he wasn't beating razor kid grabbed the bag of money and ran out of the arena razor give kiss but he couldn't catch the kid the next week on Raw Ted DiBiase and IRS ripped under Riza Ramon saying the kid made him look like a loser by embarrassing him and taking his money a razor chant broke out in the audience and so the first turn had officially begun money ain't done the same thing again on the July 19th episode of Raw calling out Razor Ramon and calling him a loser only this time Razor Ramon came out and took care of Moana yank after Ted DiBiase attempted by the bad guy DiBiase then challenged the 1-2-3 kid to a much saying he will do what Whizzer couldn't do and destroy the kid on wrestling challenge the kid beat Ted DiBiase while razor laughed at ringside and on the August 16th episode of Raw a rematch was big between the kid and DiBiase IRS interfered Whizzer wasn't in the building so the Steiner Brothers instead came to the kids rescue Whizzer no a fully fledged baby fist went into SummerSlam 1993 and defeated Ted DiBiase and Ted's final WWF match well has final match if you don't come to the 2007 15th anniversary of raw bala royal the slow turn with razor had worked extremely effectively the credits netted Ramona's a babyface almost instantly and they popped huge for the bad guy at SummerSlam 93 the next logical step and pushing razor was to give him a single style and it was decided that razor would become the new Intercontinental Champion after Shawn Michaels was forced to forfeit the belt after failing a wellness test Whizzer and Rick Martel COO won a battle royal which allowed both men to compete against each other to decide the new IC champion and razor 1 this was razors first of for IC title runs meaning Scott Hall was the very first man to hold the title four times and also solidifying razor ramon as one of the WWF squares IC champions now i recently uploaded a video about the Shawn Michaels versus Razor Ramon ladder match which was up next so I'd suggest checking that video right now if you want details regarding the IC title situation around this time before getting to the ladder match with Shawn Michaels o Razor Ramon led team razor until Survivor Series match against Team IRS Tim razor won the match and at the 1994 Royal Rumble razor ramon successfully defended his icy title against IRS again i recommend checking out the ladder match video at this point if you want a full picture of what was going on and then you can come back to this video but in short Shawn Michaels claimed he was the real Intercontinental Champion I'm never losing the belt and the ring even carrying his own IC championship around with him during his return to decide who was the undisputed Intercontinental Champion both belts were suspended above the ring in a ladder match at WrestleMania Tam the winner would have to retrieve both belts to score the victory it was a WrestleMania classic a trance adder and a career-defining showdown Rio Ramone won the match immediately following WrestleMania 10 razor continued to feud with both Shawn Michaels and his bodyguard diesel it's no secret that razor days old Shawn and the 1-2-3 kid were all very close friends backstage and it kinda showed and their matches too anytime a combination of these men stepped into the ring to face each other during this era anyway the matches were always good yet many people behind the scenes didn't like this friendship shared between some of the company's top guys through this friendship the man which soon included hunter hearst-helmsley collectively became known as the clique and they would be able to work against each other while keeping a grip on the top spots within the WWF ultimately leading to other guys not getting a chance in the spotlight this is pretty much what happened it's been confirmed numerous times by the clique and even Vince McMahon himself it's no secret so yeah not much more to say about it rizo lost the icy title the diesel on the April 30th episode of WWF superstars due to interference from Shawn Michaels and an example of how the click would like to work with each other Ria's are defeated diesel and a rematch for the icy title at SummerSlam in 1994 after Shawn Michaels and advertently head diesel with a superkick going on the sound of a feud with diesel and Shawn that would also include the WWF Championship Whizzer in the meantime would pretty much hold onto the icy title and if he lost the gold he would be quick enough to get it back again Survivor Series in 1994 so irizar lead another team this time the bad guys into a match against the Teamsters wizard was the sole survivor for his team but the big story coming out of this match with Shawn Michaels again having diesel with another superkick ending their own screen relationship and kick-starting their food out of the Survivor Series match razor began a feud with Jeff Jarrett that would take the bad guy in the 1995 the ramon versus jarred food hotly contended over the icy title would take place over the course of a few months the first match between the two men on pay-per-view happened at the 1995 will Rumble and along with his match against Shawn Michaels at in your house - I think this was one of Jarrett's battered WWF matches during the shoot and the roadie had risen on the knee on the outside of the ring and razor ended up getting Kanter died as the title could not change hands via count-out jarred challenge razor to get back in the ring and continue the match razor agreed but eventually double J was able to lock in the figure-four to further damage Ramon's me when razor went for the razor's edge he collapsed under Jarrett's width and double J was able to win the icy title a rematch was booked for Wrestlemania 11 but jarred was able to retain the title here after getting disqualified thanks to interference from the Rudy this takes us then to the first in your house pay-per-view where razor was scheduled to team up with the 1-2-3 kid to take on double J and the roadie kid ended up injured so razor went out and defeated both of his opponents and a handicap match Savio Vega sea of drizzle Ramone from a beta and after the Bell had and rizz ER and Vega then were paired up as allies the jerath versus razor feud wouldn't and here though Whizzer won the Intercontinental title back and a lot of much that was held on May 19th 1995 in Quebec only for Jared to win the title back two days later and another latter much this mid razor the first man to capture the icy title three times but it's a shame that none of these latter matters seem to have been recorded they happened at house shows Jared and razor had a ladder match series here resulting in Ramone getting injured so for the next few weeks Reiser would manage Savio Vega when razor healed up he and Savio took on man on a mission at the near hasty but razor and Vega came up short and this much next up was SummerSlam 1995 and Razor Ramon would get a shot at the icy title here and a lot of rematch from WrestleMania Tam Shawn Michaels versus Razor Ramon - who would happen on August 27th 1995 and this one isn't as well remembered as the original the two men were not allowed to use the ladder as a weapon during this match due to a new policy introduced a total WUF programming but still the two men took some liberties and passed off a lot of shots as accidents Reserve was only able to capture the title and even though the match isn't as well remembered as the mini attend match that doesn't mean this isn't worth checking out it's fun watching the men get creative in terms of not using the ladder as a weapon where many people will see this as an instant reason to dismiss the match others will find it quite interesting seeing two of the WWF's best here how to think outside the box a little to prove a notch off it still comes recommended razor then began a feud with Dean Douglas better known as she and Douglas in ECW this should have been gold with both Dean and razors mag skills here we should have caught a kid feud out of this and it was decent but you would expect a little more she and Douglas was doing the holding Douglas gimmick and I failed she and was always battle just being himself with Danes backstage issues also with the clique it just made what should have been a good you'd feel a little flat anyway Dean Douglas defeated Razor Ramon at in your house 3 in September of 1995 at the end of this March Whizzer had the razor's edge but the referee was distracted for whatever reason the 1-2-3 kid ran under the ring and counted to 3 Whizzer stood up pushed cat out of the ring and this gave Douglas enough time to rule appraiser and score the pinfall so we have a bed of a brick up here between the kid and Razor Ramon in your house floor would be an interesting night for Razor Ramon razor and the kid tried to put their differences behind them and the two men would challenge the smoking guns for the Tag Titles at this and your house show before this much it was also announced that Riza would get a shot at the Intercontinental title a title that would get forfeited later in the night by Shawn Michaels so Razor Ramon had the chance to live in your house for as both a tag team champion and the icy champion and in the tag match the kid want a tag then after Whizzer had the razor's edge razor tag then kid and when kid went for the pen Billy Gunn reversed the Lissie attempt and scored the win for the smoking Gunn's after the match kid attacked Bart and belly leading the razor putting a stop to the attack and sounding head to the back later in the evening though after Shawn Michaels forfeited the icy title razor and Dean Douglas had a match to determine the new champion Whizzer won the match so not only was res Ramon the first man to win the Intercontinental title three times this type of when hair man razor was also the first man to win the title four times an incredible accomplishment here Dean Douglas Feith was on the outside of the ring however when we ever got the pinfall when from here razor would get mixed up in a couple of feuds the Sheehan Douglass rivalry continued mainly on the HOH shows but the two that have a rematch on Raw near the end of November which R is or one but the beggar Feud for razor was with the 1-2-3 kid kid turned him when he refereed a non-title match between razor and said on Raw pearling said dime from a razor's edge at am then going on to fast countries or shoulders to the mat and s so I'd said to win the match the 1-2-3 kid joined Ted DiBiase's million dollar corporation but Whizzer would have to win awhile before getting his hands on his former best friend Survivor Series 1995 was next razor was part of the weird wild card Survivor Series match where Billy faces and Hades would team up together research team lost the match razor would get his hands on the 1-2-3 kid and in your house X and a crybaby much the loser would be put in a diaper and yeah where is our one that's much if you take away the silly stipulation here this one was actually pretty good but still the visual of Razor Ramon putting a diaper on another grown man is kind of well it may be missed the mark a little things would get even more strange though is Razor Ramon began a feud with relative newcomer Goldust Goldust had an infatuation with Razor Ramon sounding wizard love letters and presents stuff like that Scott Hall headed the angle he didn't like working with Goldust and was reported that the clique took this head-on Dustin Rhodes as a person behind the scenes Bruce Prichard said Whizzer protested constantly about the Goldust angle and it's been said that razor wanted to work with Triple H during this time also but razor ended up working the angle dropping the title to Goldust at the 1996 World Rumble with the idea being that Razor Ramon would win at WrestleMania 12 against Goldust and a Miami alley fight the match was to take place in Miami while WrestleMania would be an honor home and the match would be broadcasted via satellite Whizzer even came out and asked Roddy Piper the acting WWF president at the time if he can have the March with Goldust and it was agreed however razor Field a wellness test and was suspended for six weeks he would miss WrestleMania so instead of razor versus Goldust and a Miami alley match we had Roddy Piper versus Goldust and a Hollywood backlot brawl while the Piper versus Goldust match was excellent it would have been good to see how the Miami alley match featuring Goldust and Razer would have turned out Rio returned to the WWF and in your house seven and April of 1996 where he took a loss to Vader and from here razor poodle for Jerry Lawler and hunter hearst-helmsley on the high xiulet razor had negotiated a good deal with WCW he would be leaving the World Wrestling Federation and his last match of this subject of the Efrain saw him lose to Hunter Hearst Helmsley in Madison Square Garden the night of the famous curtain call and that was it for the Razor Ramon character from 1992 to 1996 hopefully you enjoyed watching this video as much as I enjoy putting it together it was great going back and watching these old grizzled remote matches of course we all know that when Scott Hall made his debut in WCW the WWF would bring the Razor Ramon character back only it was played by somebody else Ric Bogner and a great example of Vince McMahon's pettiness at the time you can learn more about the fake razor and the fake diesel and another video I made but thanks very much for watching this video and maybe in the future we'll look at Scott halls run in WCW [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music]
